The C sticker in HTC on the back cover fell off!!! - HTC Sensation

Has this happened to anyone else yet? The damn C fell off! How in the hell?
Yes, I know I can get a replacement back. I'm the one who let people know about that. (something i regret not putting in a PM) It just sucks though. I don't want to have to get a new back until way later in the 1 year life of this phone.

wtf, i just laugh when i read the tittle didnt think it was real i thought those letters was metal engrave

If you didn't lose the C you could just superglue it back on

Yeah unfortunately I just looked & it was gone, otherwise that's what I would've done.

If you lost it, you could do what I did and pull the rest out and get a black fine point sharpie and color it in

I chromed my back, and sanded the letters lol still didn't come off lol

Goo gone and a cotton swab, not sure what it would do to the black finish though
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA Premium App

I'll give it a shot. I don't think the goo gone will do anything to the finish. If I like it, I'll try to take off the other 2 stickers too

That's so strange. Hope this doesn't happen to me.

Hhaha. Nice one. You got a china phone.

LOL. One of the funniest thing i've heard for a while.

I had this happen too. Only, I've slowly lost each letter down to where I have lost them all. I'm going to fill it in with some paint I think, then do the chrome mod. When I sand down the back I think the paint should stay in the indented part.

The 'T' fell off in my case :O
Just take a pencil and fill up the indented part. Looks fine.

I lost "h" long time ago, I thing that this is problem with bad glue and high temperature.

The XE must be different? I have the XE and there aren't any letter stickers, the lettering is recessed.

Yeah this won't happen on the XE.

This happened to my Sensation but with the 'T' I actually emailed HTC about this along side sending a photo to them and within three days they had sent me a new unibody May I suggest you do the same.

Wow I heard about debranding..but.....

[Q] Laser engraving Backcover

Hello guys,
Since i'm kinda into customizing my electronics and the fact that I just bought a HTC Sensation i thought let's post this here and perhaps you guys can help me with this.
I would love to laser engrave my sensations back cover but i have no creativity and once it's done it can't be undone. Can you guys help me out with some nice and creative ideas on what i might be able to do to it?
Since I have a laser engraver / cutter I do not require any tips about where to go etc. to have it done.
Also if you have any ideas for your own device i'd more then happy to talk to you about customizing your device
Thanks!
Attached some eye candy (everyone loves that right?)

Oh no doubt that I'll be doing that. Then again screwing up the back up cover with a not so awesome design would still kinda suck ^^
So i'm still open to suggestions, perhaps there are some really awesome graphics designers here.
Here is what I did to mine. But if you mess up a new one will cost $90

That is really awesome!
Could you explain how you did it? Did you have to take that part out of the back cover? What did you use to "chrome" it?

Its not chrome. Just raw aluminium. I took it apart and buffed it down. You can also use paint thinner. When I get back to. My PC I will post the link.

Yes, I already read that on his blog few weeks ago. The only thing I need now is a spare battery cover because I'll probably screw up (when taking the plastic off, brushing isn't a problem) I'll try to get one but it looks like HTC wants you to send your old one back (I have some issues with this one, I'm not trying to get it only to have a spare)

you don't need to take the cover apart. all you need is masking tape and paint thinner/remover. mask the cover well as if you were about to paint a car. be careful and meticulous with the taping. then apply the paint thinner/remover and remove the paint accordingly. remember, any of these things takes PATIENCE to get a good effect.
honestly i highly recommend you take it apart for the reason u want to get all nooks and crannies. all u need is some good glue to put them back together

Wow. Seriously?

I just thought this was worth sharing.
I own an MT4G. In my year of having it I have gone through 6 replacements.
None with the SO Type 2 Panel.
Tonight (actually 10 minutes ago) I just got back from buying my wife an MT4G.
It has a cracked digitizer but otherwise works just fine.
The touch screen is still responsive in every corner and every side.
Even where it's cracked. I got this phone for 30 bucks. 30....
My wife now has a MT4G with a superior screen. SO Type 2.
FML!
P.S. She won't switch with me even though she doesn't see the difference.
She just knows that I want it, she has it, I don't have it and that's the way she likes it.

A rooted way and an unrooted way.

All you gotta do is turn off the phone (make sure fastboot is off)
then boot in to bootloader.
Hold volume down and press the power button. Hold it until you see the bootloader screen.
Go down to system info and look for something along the lines of SH-C2 or SO-C2.
SO is superior, SH is not.
Good luck.

Saturation? Color? Contrast?
30 bucks... can it be any cheaper?
The screen is just seriously washed out in comparison. I don't want to use any terms incorrectly, so im just gonna keep it at that.

I went through several bad screens before getting a good one, and wife still has the bad one. I was checking out my friend's Sensation and immediately noticed that he has the bad screen. Apparently HTC is still shipping both screens even on their latest models. Will definitely be cautious if I go with another HTC phone after this.
I'm expecting my 2nd MT to arrive tomorrow.
If I haven't seen the bad screen, would I even know something is off? Like if my first phone had a bad screen and the new one does to, would I even guess that there's a problem?
I mean do you have to see a good and bad one side by side to know the difference?
Or is it like watching HDTV for years then trying to watch a show on an old 1920's black and white?

I don't think that will fix the problem. Your replacement will most likely get the same results
It wont solve the issue. I went thru 7 G2s all with dust under the screen. Im telling you you will get use to it. HTC qc sucks ass.
Sent from my Senseless Doubleshot using xda premium
I was thinking about doing it until the limited warranty ends
I've heard of people complaining about this "issue" a lot now, but I've never experienced it. I've had an HTC DREAM (ADP1), HTC VISION, and now my GF has an HTC DOUBLESHOT. There has never been an issue with dust under the screen. I would suggest that it may, therefore, be related to EXPOSURE to dust. Possibly related to how you protect the phone. Do you keep your phone in a clean pouch? Or do you drop it in your pocket along with whatever other cruft you may be walking around with? Do you work in a particularly dusty environment?
In any case, the issue would be that the digitizer sits above the LCD. The only place where dust could conceivably get to that would be visible as "under the screen" is between the digitizer and the LCD. You should be able to disassemble the phone and wipe it out (after warranty expires). Until then, use warranty, and then protect the phone from dust.
I've never had issues with dust under my screen, but then again I've always kept my phones in a G1 pouch
http://www.amazon.com/T-Mobile-HTC-Google-Phone-Pocket/dp/B001OOEQJ2
The only time I've had an issue was when I took apart my MyTouch 3G slide and touched underneath the screen and got prints all over it and put it back together without realizing it, so that was entirely my fault..
No dust for me. Have my phone on me 24/7 in an extremely dusty environment. I am a powder coater
I am usually covered head to toe, with powdercoat and metal dust. Kept loose in my pocket and I use it 3-4times an hour to check the time.

Never had any dust in mine either, but I pouch mine like RazoE and take absurdly good care of it. Used to have a G1 that I bought used and it never had any dust either.
The earpiece on this phone is kinda big; perhaps dust is making its way in from there?

Upon further inspection, it seems this might actually be the port of entry; see attached photo.
The glowing blueish area in the red rectangle is the LCD, pretty much open to whatever can make its way in, i.e. dust. There is another opening similar to this further down the track between the screen and keyboard and you can see it pretty well if the screen is lit up.

[Q] Spray Painting the One S camera circle?

have any of you guys thought of this?
I guess i can live with that blue color that EVERY Tmobile user has, but since im gonna have this phone for 2+ years, i thought i'd make it my own
id like to spray paint the inside part Black or maybe red.
how would u guys recommend doing this?
I would not recommend spray paint. With a steady hand, an artist brush, some hobby paint or enamel, I can see that blue ring painted any color you wish.
Of course extra care will be needed to make sure you're newly painted ring does not scratch.

Agreed...just about any paint you put on anodized aluminum is going to look good exactly once, then will scratch or wear through immediately. I wouldn't mess with it...just get a custom case.
