Will the upcoming ICS update on June 11 be for Skyrocket? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

T-Mobile tweeted that the new ICS will be coming on June 11th for GS2. Will this be for AT&T also or just T-Mobile?

T-mobile and AT&T are too different companies....so no.

The skyrocket and gs2 for t=mobile are nearly the same phone so parts of the T989 rom might help us. the more important thing is it will start a clock for when the sources are released and that will help custom roms so they can compile their own kernels.

Issue being what issues will arise using 989 kernel source. rotation was on gb but will it be the same for ics that's the question on my mind lol

AT&T will probably wait till after the S3 release hoping people will move to that instead.

That's probably what he meant. My T-mobile Nexus S is still on 2.3.4.
A lot of these updates are to get the devices ready for ICS and its features.

Not particularly
2.3.4: Rolled out to all devices - Maintenance release - fixed issues
2.3.5: Rolled out to Sprint Nexus S 4G to resolve signal issues, introduced some SE code
2.3.6: Rolled out to i9020a to attempt to fix Search button bug among others
2.3.7: Introduced Google Wallet
All of the releases since 2.3.3 (which enabled Write support for NFC) have been maintenance releases prior to 2.3.7 which introduced Google Wallet. The ICS branch is a completely separate branch of the development tree.
Mean 2.3.3 .4 .5 and .7 and how y'all think is gonna work Ginger/honeycomb together .... I really would love to get honeycomb itself on my phone ...but that's too much to dream of lol

Any updates on ICS rom development for our Galaxy S 4G...
Not just themes but a full functioning rom?
I think Samsung may update our devices but we won't get a full cup of ICS, just visual treatment.

LG SU660 ICS Source Drop

For those interested, LG has posted source for ICS on the P999's older sibling, the SU660.
Available from LG's open source page - but I can't post a link apparently.
[Edit: Link is 2 posts down. Thanks dw9906.]

How do u think its even possible if the rom hasn't even made for g2x?
Our devs can modify the source for g2x but I don't think LG is gonna provide one for g2x

Ofcourse not. Hackfest was based on a modified cm9 kernel that's why all those cm9 bugs in that. The only rom using this kernel now is v30c and also the cm10 acree has on his p990 ... just wait two more days ... u will start to see the roms arrive magically by the weekend

So wonderfully exciting.
My god, lg is trying to make a come back. its kinda working.
Did LG just ***** slap T-Mobile or what! This entire time T-mobile's reps have been trying to blame LG for the lack of ICS on the G2x when LG has said they were working on it and that T-mobile didn't want the update. So LG releases to source code and look at that seems like LG was actually doing what they said.

This combined with the comeback of the G2X on the Web Store of T-mobile...
We need to keep in mind a couple things.
1) LG Kernel source drops are rarely 100% ready to compile. The kernel experts will need time to fix all the loose ends that LG left when they ripped out things they don't want the outside world to see (it happens!) Also there may be bits and pieces that the kernel depends on to compile that are themselves proprietary and not included. Again, not a show stopper for the pros, but takes time to fix up and make into a compilable and working kernel.
2) Just because there are defines for p999 in the kernel doesn't mean that it contains full p999 support. It may or it may not. I'd be shocked if it does.
But it looks like we're golden for ICS .... Silver for JB? Hopefully if there are issues on JB with this then some of the better devs will at least give cm9 ICS a second look.
And hopefully this kernel dump will be better than previous for those of us unfortunate enough to have SOD/Reboots on anything but stock LG.
They released source for the P990 as well.

[Q] Skyrocket Official Jelly Bean

I've been reading recently that the official jelly bean update for the Galaxy SII is finally rolling out. However, everywhere I read is mentioning the international version. I have the AT&T Skyrocket model and was wondering if the officially Jelly Bean update has been released? If not, is there any word on when it might?

I know the SGH-i727R, which is Rogers in Canada, is now supposed to be getting it late February vs late December as previously promised. I'm sure since it's the same phone if we're getting it, maybe, sometime, possibly, then you folks at AT&T will as well......
