NOTE : any hboot that supports CM7 will support this ROM
First , you'll need to go through the S-OFF process (Radio S-OFF recommended)
Second , Please Press the Thanks Button and continue , it won't take seconds !
Third , Root your phone anyway you want ( See Visionary+)
Fourth , Grab CWM recovery ( or any other recovery )
Fifth , Download and Copy the zip file (Up in the Download section)
Sixth , Reboot to recovery
Seventh , Make a backup ( Backup and Restore > Backup )
Eighth , Install Zip
Ninth , Reboot !
Tenth , if Something goes wrong try to redo what you have done + this time Wipe data , cache , dalvik cache ...
Eleventh , Boot into ROM , but before you Enjoy , go to 12
Twelvth , Go to settings , somewhere the languages is located , in there change the language to English and Reboot !!
Thirteenth , now , you can ENJOY !!

I didn't see in the OP that you had converted the language from Chinese to anything else? Has there been language adjustments?

Edit: This sucks. Did another full wipe and this time I even mounted system and data to no avail. ROM will not boot. Using 4ext recovery

How long did you leave it? Some boots can take 10 minutes. I personally haven't tested this myself so can't comment, but maybe someone else has had better luck...

5 minutes. In my years of flashing and developing very popular ROMS on the Samsung Captivate I have never had it get stuck this long

Same here. Stuck at the HTC logo, even at the 2nd flash.

Man, are you crazy!!!... you did not even test the rom and you posted it. Your op was so promising, i thought everything is working spick n span as if it was freshly tested. Can't believe this, and you are asking us to check the build.prop. Lolz
I told in the OP that I am not a super dev and also I told that I don't have the handset -__- so how on Earth should I test it ?! or , wait , I may have found the problem !

Well I'm kind of in the mood after getting some good feeback from my Defy ROM, so seen as though v1.08 has been released by Advent - I thought I would try and get a release based on this out - try and liven up the vega section on XDA!
As I've said before - I aint no Dev and don't profess to be. I know a fair bit about Android, but I don't compile, what I can do, is put things together that make it easy for others.
As you can see I've marked this as a release candidate, so I'm open to suggestions of what else could be included/improved on, although this is meant to be an unbloated blank canvas for people to build on.
ROM Includes:
Advent v1.08 base
Flash (You may need to reinstall by browsing to /system/etc/shuttle_priv and reinstalling the app in there)
Launcherpro
Gapps (No Gmail - I don't use the app - download from the market if you want it)
High Res Gallery
Moduleap screen calibration app
ES File manager
New for RC2:
Included small notification bar
Custom Boot screen
Modaco USB Switcher (Host/Slave)
Optional Clockworkmod Recovery
Added stock taskmanager back in (even though I think its fairly poor)
My favourite part of this is the installer - I don't think you can get much simpler than this. I'm sorry to Mac and Linux users, but this is a windows installer package, I've never owned a mac (and probably never will) and have limited linux experience.
Install process:
This assumes you have already have the Vega nvflash/adb drivers installed.
1) Download Higgsy_Modded_v1.08_Vega_RC2.exe here
2) Make a backup of your current ROM using clockworkmod recovery (If you use it).
3) I Also advise a backup of your apps/app data via Titanium Backup.
4) Boot into nvflash recovery using the following method:
Disconnect power cable if connected
Power the Vega off
Reconnect the power cable
Hold the back button for 2 seconds
Keeping the back button held down, press and hold the power button for 2 secs
You should hear a "bing bong" from the PC - if so release the buttons
If you don't get a bing bong, disconnect power for 10 secs then reconnect and try the process again.
5)Once you are in nvflash mode execute the Higgsy_Modded_Vega_v1.08_RC1.exe you downloaded, once complete hit enter when the DOS window prompts you.
6)Wait 10 secs and then power on the device as normal.
Installation for Clockworkmod Package:
1)Download the Clockworkmod_Install.exe from here
2)Make sure your Vega is connected to your PC and you have USB debugging enabled on the device
3)Double click the Clockworkmod_Install.exe program and let it do its bit
4)Once the DOS window disappears then it all done.
5)I recommend a standard shutdown/cold boot after install (prob don't need this, but I like to do it anyways.
I had previously posted earlier that clockworkmod was giving black screen, I can now confirm that installing via the above method, has stopped this for me- I have done 3 reflashes/install clockwork/boot into clockwork/flash a zip/reboot/cold boot and it hasn't black screened me, I was probably trying to be a bit clever trying to integrate things I didn't need to, and to be fair its better as an optional extra anyway.
Further note from me on clockwork mod after someone reported BSOD:
Clockworkmod is hit and miss, I spent best part of a day testing/reflashing and in the end I got it to work without any issues, i.e. the usual BSOD after first cold boot after using clockworkmod. What I found prevented it earlier was after using clockwork mod to backup/restore/flash zip etc, was to reboot back into clockworkmod straight away and then just hit reboot in clockworkmod as soon as it loaded up, then if you cold boot after this it loaded up ok. I think the key thing if you are going to use clockwork, is take a recovery straight after setting everything up, then its not so much of a biggy if it does black screen.

in my opinion very nice, I will be completely honest - I have compared this and it is mostly advent adding the newer tegra drivers in, there are other differences and additions too though.
would like some feedback from others on the installer and if its working sweet for them (it is for me)

I couldn't decide which way to go with that, I always used the small notification before, some like it some don't. I'll make an update.zip add on. easily done.
Edit: I want to compile it myself too (framework-res) and not use the other one thats available, gives me more experience if I do it myself.

Thanks Higgsy, will give this a go tomorrow. If you are going to modify this yourself, would it be possible to have a semi-transparent small notification bar as an optional update.zip? Or if you know of a good n00b guide to do so, it would be appreciated.

Again button saviour is a must, I agree, my aim here was to provide a blank canvas with only the basics. To be honest there aint a great deal of space in /system. If people agree then I'll include it in the next release.
Flash included and works, you may need to reinstall it by going into /system/etc/shuttle_priv/selecting the app to install. I'll update the OP coz I forgot about that.
I notice in the screenshot that the kernel version is v1.06 is that a mistake. i have flashed the official firmware and it says v1.08.

This is an ongoing developer project to make way for a modification that will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the experience of your phone. I know you've seen tablet mode roms before, they change two lines in your build.prop file which you could easily edit yourself in seconds and maybe throw a keyboard in there to make it work better. It's a start, but this ain't enough. This thing has potential, but it is wasted the moment you try to stuff a full blown tablet into your poor phone. Yet we all know our high res phones can very well handle more than silly 1-column layouts. So the magic must be in between somewhere, a place that Google must have overlooked and left blank. Yes, this rom strives to drop your device into tablet mode, but it won't stop there, it will reshape and redefine ICS to make it all a usefull addition and not just a cute novelty. we're calling it: Hybrid Mode, best of both worlds.

If you have an issue and you want to call our attention, here's what you do:
1. Try everything you can, find solutions for yourself. Wipe caches, revert all your settings you have made, go back to your stock Kernel, factory reset if you have to or reflash the rom. Assume that the issue is on your side and try your best to isolate it.

... explain your issue as precise as you can, name the exact apps and conditions that cause trouble, help us to replicate the issue right away. If we can't there's no way we can fix it and your post will simply clutter the thread
... collect evidence, keep in mind this is a developer thread so even if you are not one, do us the favor and research how to record logcat. logcat is the single most important help you can give us to resolve your issue.

Download the ROM, GApps, and recovery.img from the OP
Download and open the EZ recovery app from HERE
Select custom, then select the box with 3 dots... find the d2vzw_recovery.img you downloaded in step 1 part B., select flash, then Reboot Recovery
From CWM recovery, Perform a nandroid backup from the backup/restore menu
Wipe data/factory reset
Select install .zip from sd and install the rom you downloaded in step 1 part A.
Select install .zip from sd and install the gapps package you downloaded in step 1 part B.
Reboot

This is normal for now. The phone will reboot multiple times, but will get to the bootanimation and eventually boot up. Do not freak out.

I'd love to help you, but I need a little more information about your issue. You should provide us with information regarding what your issue causes and what you did before the issue started. However, before asking me and the community, ask yourself two simple questions:
Can I reproduce the error?
Have I looked for a solution?
If you answered "yes" to both of these questions and came up empty handed, then post it in the thread and it will be addressed. Even more helpful would be if you got a logcat. Like so:

When I use the camera the phone freezes and I have to do a battery pull...I thought it was fixed? (1.9.1a)
It is fixed. It's just a pretty hacky fix. To take a picture, you will have to tap the screen to focus the camera BEFORE taking the picture. If you just press the camera button, the phone will freeze.
Can you add *this* to the ROM?
Although I'm not obligated to add anything and everything to the ROM, I will do our best to supply your desires and live up to your expectations. Do not mistake this for a guarantee. I would like to do everything, but I may not be able to.

Hopefully you already have adb installed (I'm assuming you do). You are going to want to download the recovery.img beanstown106/Team Epic has provided us with and then move it into the directory where you have adb installed (usually in "platform-tools" or "tools" in the android-sdk). Then cd to that directory using terminal or cmd (depending on your OS).
It should look something like:

Once you do that, then enter each of the above commands (in the OP) in descending order. When it finishes, you're done.

PureMotive, thanks alot for this! If you like copy my section 5 instructions to your op...it uses mmmeff's EZ recovery app to install recovery. I believe this will keep the "how do i install this" questions at bay since most dont understand adb. Thanks again for your work!!

Normal camera doesn't work, but panorama and the video recorder do.

Very cool boot animation. 4G is working really well for me. Very smooth rom. I have not experienced any bugs as of yet, but then again I've only been up for less than a hour.
Rom is running awsome so far!!

Basically this Rom will try to convert your phone into tablet and ended up getting tiny fonts!

The fonts are not really small on this by default. I kept the default setup and the fonts are close to stock size.
The camera froze on me after one picture. I got an "gallery not responding" error. I thought I read there was a fix if the gallery.apk was replaced.

Few Notes / Guide on Swap Partitioning
Since Ujjwal forgot to Reserve posts, he ran out of space. So I'm posting this on behalf of him:
Few Notes on rom :
There are 2 launchers . One stock (certainly themed) and 1 jelly bean launcher .
-Stock launcher is being mentioned in loopy smoothness tweak . though I feel Jb launcher will be as smooth as stock also .
Swap needs to be done by the user . It will act as a virtual memory . Refer to tutorial below for having a swap partition .
If you face issues like phone stopped working in AOSP RC8 than please switch to RC7 as Thats the most I had pushed . I failed to fix that .
After the first boot wait a few seconds . Let the phone do some necessary things in first startup . After 30 seconds almost you can use it .
To contribute to rom download the open source package . It contains all modification I did to rom . For questions and everything consult this thread HERE .
To remove ad blocking host file please delete /system/etc/hosts
NEVER UPDATE THE HOLO LOCKER !!! . Else you'll loose the AOSP lockscreen .
For the pie you see in screenshot , download and install this app . This app can't be used as a system app so you have to install it . DOWNLOAD THREAD .

[GUIDE] HOW TO ENABLE SWAP
-After a successful flash and reboot Go into recovery again .
-Go to ADVANCE .
-Select Partition ext-SD card . Remember !! Don't partition the SD card . You have to partition ext-SD . Partitioning the SD card will result in hard brick . Remember EXT-SD card is to be partitioned .
-Select 64mb or 128mb not more than it .
-Touch twice it will show done .
-Reboot into phone now .
-Download this app .
-Just press the on button . And when you see everything ok . Close the app .
REMEMBER : Whenever you connect your Phone to PC you need to go into that app and select off . Else phone will not mount .

I've tried your ROM twice so far and each time I am missing the Phone and the Peoples (Contacts) apps. I reverted back to a backup I made before I tried your ROM though. Not sure why those apps are missing. I did think that your ROM seemed very smooth though.

Yup. Same thing happened to me ttoo. I had to go back to stock rom. Also its missing Microsoft Exchange support.
I use two other apps by ritesh sahu from Google market. Call log restore and sms restore. On this rom those apps will not read the backup xml files. But same xml files works fine on the stock rom. Hopefully its a minor bug you can fix. Again thanks for a bloat free rom. I will tray again.

Same here, missing the Phone and Contacts apps also felt the ROM pretty smooth.
Okay let me clear few things :-
1. For those who are missing the contacts and the phone app :- This happened with me also . But the link i uploaded Always worked for me . I always flash rom twice before uploading . I won't be giving anyone a bad things . . Theres something bad with phone and contacts itself . Somehow i made them work . They will work like a charm . And if they aren't working than Flash the patch i'm giving . That will revert stock phone and contacts back . Rom will be buttery smooth . trust me .
sorry for any issues you are suffering . wait 4-5 hours more . I'll give the fix package .

Than you please download gizmolord 2.0 B . That has been fixed 3 hours ago . 2.0 A is 98% done . 5 minutes more for 2.0 A . But my recomendation for you is download 2.0 B , becuase that will give no issues just have to compromise with stock phone n contacts look :/ .

How did you to both get past this issue to get the ASOP phone and contacts to work? I have tried both 1.0 and 1.2 numerous times, each time it is missing those apps. I am downloading 2.0B right now just so I can use this ROM and still be able to use the phone. Would like to be able to use the ASOP apps though.

see what i actually did is deleted contacts.apk , contactsprovider.apk . Than replaced them with AOSP rom one . ( I used from F1-galaxy for S2 ) . Than when i boot the phone i get error contacts storage error : / I got pi**ed off by that . Than i investigated a lot and what i did to solve problem is deleted syncmlserivce.apk ,syncmlclient.apk , syncmlprovider.apk , /framework/com.....syncmlshared.jar and deleted /etc/permissions/com...syncmlshared.xml . Than It worked for me . When i edit any file ! Any file ! I get missing phone and contacts in rom also . Most of my time i get missing phone n contacts in rom . I build many times debug many times and upload only the one i get phone and contacts in every flash . All roms are kinda perfect for me , except 1.2 . But i get phone and contacts everytime . I flashed my device 3-3 times completely . Fully new flash . And got phone n contact everytime that one rom i uploaded only . If you are not getting i recommend to experiment yourself inside the phone itself . I'm attaching the contacts and contactsprovider.apk from f1 galaxy S2 at&t rom . You delete the files from es file manager and than paste those .change permission rw-r-r if worked well If not i'm kinda helpless . Even i'm using Variant B because I need call log . Which sometimes we don't get in variant A :/ also we get that error phone stopped working after disconnect of the call . The rom works like charm and phone and contacts too sometimes it behaves weird just :/

Im having trouble moving apps to media storage. App2sd and link2sd didnt do the trick. Wiped dalvik, did factory reset, even wiped the internal media storage with no luck. Any time i tried to move an app it wouldnt let me. This is a deal breaker for me since i have a lot of apps(Mostly games for my daughters) which are quite heavy. If it helps i flashed directly from estabien's 3.1 rom. I really wanted to test this rom out, I like the customization you did to it, guess ill have to wait till i can sort this out.

I've just created this thread to merge all the goophone i5 information in just one post. This way it will be easier to all goophone i5 users to post doubts answers and eventual software updates/ROMS.
I've both of goophones (Y5 and I5) and i'm happy with them.
But there are some problems with goophone i5 stock software.
Problems detected on the stock rom that need a fix
- Can't recieve or send MMS. FIXED
- 3G network and Data Connection don't work. FIXED - See Below
- Google apps can be installed. Google play won't download apps (Error 906 - com.google.process.gapps stoped). FIXED - See Below
- Not all language strings are translated. English is ok.FIXED
- Some of stock apps are in Chinese (Weather, Maps, App Store) FIXED - Just delete the APKS from system/app
- Some apps are there just there to fill the launcher. They don't have any utility (Passbook, Games Center, etc). But they are removable in system/apps/ FIXED
- Can't delete contacts. You just can add or import existent Vcard. If you press cancel the apk will give you an error and crash. FIXED - Settings -> Email, Contacts, Calendar -> Delete All Contacts
- When you delete call history the apk will give you an error and crash. But the history will be deleted. FIXED
- When you change the language, the apk will give you an error. But the language will be changed. FIXED
- Poor contact image quality during phone call. The image is loaded but have a awful quality. FIXED
- When you recieve a message it will be kept on the lock screen, but it only shows the number not the name of the person who sent it to you. FIX NEEDED
- Sometimes when you slide it to silence using the Mute Button the software will get crazy and will change the profile from mute to sound in a loop. FIXED on the last ROM
- Can't do video calls. There is no option to make it and when you recieve one, the phone won't let you answer it and it will crash the phonecall.FIXED
Useful information about Goophone I5 Lite
Android Version: 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich
Access to the Factory Hardware test
- Power off the phone
- Press Power Button + Volume up [+]
This phone comes rooted from factory so, if you want to have access to the clockworkmod:
- Power off the phone
- Press Power Button + Volume down [-]
The clockworkmod is in chinese but is easy to understand.
1- Reboot System now
2- Install zip from sd card
3 - Wipe data / Factory Reset
4 - Wipe Cache
Last - Advanced (To wipe battery stats and dalvik cache)
How to change boot logo to Apple logo
Go to the system/media and you'll find 4 zip files with name bootanimation.zip, shutdownanimation.zip, bootanimationIphone.zip and shutdownanimationIphone.zip
Just rename the original ones to bootanimationGP.zip and shutdownanimationGP.zip and delete the word Iphone from the others.
Easy way: Make a phonecall to the number *#0066# and boot will be changed from goophone logo to apple logo
How to install google apps
Download and Unzip the file
Copy all the files from the folder to system/app/. Change the permissions following the next image:

How to get 3G network working!
- Download APN Manager Pro and Titanium Backup Pro (must be these)
- Set the apn manager pro as system app with titanium backup
- Open APN Manager Pro and insert you APN settings
- And that's it!
HOW TO FIX CARRIER SIGNAL ISSUE
- Find an oldphone at home,it does not matter the brand or model.
- Write down it IMEI.
- Replace your goophone imei with the old phone imei with mobile uncle tools.
- Reboot the phone
HOW TO FIX BLACK SCREEN ISSUE and increase Battery life

Goophone I5 with H2000+ Rom
Hi,
wow sounds great but I killed my pre-installed rom because of wrong SU-rooting...
I'm looking for a complete new rom which is fully Google-ready (GApps, Market,...).
Until now I have the rom from the H2000+ installed but there are problems with the WIFI & Bluetooth connection.
(more I didn't test for now)
So when I try to start one of them activating, the connection will try to do something... but the only thing what happens is that the LED-Flash starts to blink...
-> That means.... sh... I can't do anything...
I also tried to flash the H9300+ rom but nothing happens during boot -> also back for now to H2000+ waiting for a new Rom for I5.
Or has anybody an idea, which Phone has near the same components and an Android-Rom exists?

I'm looking for a complete new rom which is fully Google-ready (GApps, Market,...).
Until now I have the rom from the H2000+ installed but there are problems with the WIFI & Bluetooth connection.
(more I didn't test for now)
So when I try to start one of them activating, the connection will try to do something... but the only thing what happens is that the LED-Flash starts to blink...
-> That means.... sh... I can't do anything...
I also tried to flash the H9300+ rom but nothing happens during boot -> also back for now to H2000+ waiting for a new Rom for I5.
Or has anybody an idea, which Phone has near the same components and an Android-Rom exists?

I've both of goophones (Y5 and I5) and i'm happy with them.
But there are some problems with goophone i5 stock software.
Problems detected on the stock rom that need a fix
- Can't recieve or send MMS.
- 3G network don't work.
- Google apps can be installed. Google play won't download apps (Error 906 - com.google.process.gapps stoped). The rest is ok.
- Not all language strings are translated. English is ok.
- Some of stock apps are in Chinese (Weather, Maps, etc)
- Some apps are there just there to fill the launcher. They don't have any utility (Passbook, Games Center, etc). But they are removable in system/apps/
- Can't delete contacts. You just can add or import existent Vcard. If you press cancel the apk will give you an error and crash.
- When you delete call history the apk will give you an error and close. But the history will be deleted.
- When you change the language, the apk will give you an error. But the language will be changed.
- Poor contact image quality during phone call. The image is loaded but have a awful quality.
- When you recieve a message it will be kept on the lock screen, but it only shows the number not the name of the person who sent it to you.
- Sometimes when you slide it to silence using the Mute Button the software will get crazy and will change the profile from mute to sound in a loop.
- Can't do video calls. There is no option to make it and when you recieve one, the phone won't let you answer it and it will crash the phonecall.
Useful information to all goohpone users
Access to the Factory Hardware test
- Power off the phone
- Press Power Button + Volume up [+]
This phone comes rooted from factory so, if you want to have access to the clockworkmod:
- Power off the phone
- Press Power Button + Volume down [-]
The clockworkmod is in chinese but is easy to understand.
1- Reboot System now
2- Install zip from sd card
3 - Wipe data / Factory Reset
4 - Wipe Cache
Last - Advanced (To wipe battery stats and dalvik cache)
How to change boot logo to Apple logo
Go to the system/media and you'll find 4 zip files with name bootanimation.zip, shutdownanimation.zip, bootanimationIphone.zip and shutdownanimationIphone.zip
Just rename the original ones to bootanimationGP.zip and shutdownanimationGP.zip and delete the word Iphone from the others.
How to install google apps
Unzip the file Gapps-goophonei5.zip attached to this post.
Copy all the files from the folder to system/app/. Then reboot the phone.
The play store will not work. Probably it will open and you should be able to search for applications. But when you press install, the playstore will crash and will give you an error (com.google.process.gapps stoped) Unable to download the requested file - Error 906.
In the other file that is attached (goophonei5-apps.zip) to this post are some of apps that you might need.
The apps are:
- Youtube with Apple iOS logo
- iWeather - Translated weather apk
- Aptdoide - For the ones who want to install apk's and can't use Playstore
- Rebooter - A nice program to reboot your phone (The same goophone Y5 has)

What exact dimension does the i5 have? Is it 1:1 like the iphone 5? I'm considering buying a goophone but there is also an alternative called zophone which claims to be an exact iphone copy dimension wise.
Regarding 3G: the phone supports wcdma 850/2100, maybe your carrier isn't compatible?

Hi!
The goophone is exactly the same size that iphone 5, the color is exactly the same.
the zophone if i were you, i didn't buy it. It has a lot of problems. Some websites are considering about take it out of selling.
Be sure that you buy a goophone. Goophone I5 has more support. And it's better. It has problems on the software, but i hope that they develop a new rom soon in order to fix some bugs of it.
For the previous version (Goophone Y5) there are some ROMS that improved the phone performance. So i think that on this one there will be much more considering the hardware
Can you upload the entire backup of the rom .zip of the goophone i5?

You don't need that! just go to your external card and you will se a file named with goophone-i5-0107-f-001.zip.
That is the stock rom for you goophone i5.

Yes I have format my SD CARD:crying:.
I haven't access to the software. I can only enter on recovery mod or rebooting the phone, but after the swipe on the main screen, the phone is empty, without icon, only black screen.

All you need to do is to Wipe Data / Factory Reset and the stock software willl be replaced by your current rom.
Don't forget to wipe cache and dalvik cache after or before the data wipe.

Hi I'm back again...
Thank's all for the Help!
So I tried and tried and tried and at least I installed the Rom from the video at my second post of this thread.
I didn't really know where I could find the Rom (from the video and the orig one) because I had the same problem as tancrazio.
But when you watch the video and pause it when the guy selects the rom - just use google and search and you will find the Rom on some chinese sides.
(Orig: goophone-i5-0107-f-001.zip, Video: goophonei5-0123-f.zip).
Now... all is fine exept Calendar... This one crashes every time, when the system tries to sync it whith the Google-Account.
Maybe I'll deactivate the Loader and use Apex - the Def is sooooooo slow and Apex is much faster and you also have more settings for the Home-Screen.

I was so ready to pull the trigger on this, but the rom seems half baked. I don't suppose any devs have mentioned getting one of these, would be great to get CM10 running on this.

I hope can help me. I have the zophone i5 and it will not let me get into recovery mode. I can get into the screen where it says recovery mode with the apply logo and it gets stuck and thats it.
Another issue was I thought it might have been the phone so I reset it via factory mode but it is the same and I have lost the apple unlock screen and the slide to power off. I have tried to find what add they were using on my phone but cant seem to find it, does anyone know what its called?

Yes the stock rom is halfe baked..but as goophone y5 there will be software updates and new roms...it's just a matter of time
The phone hardware is very good, the only cons that i've to make to this phone is the current software, but oh well, you know, wich phone does not have bugs when it is released?
@Manuxo: How did you fix the Calendar-Sync-Problem?
I still only need to get rid of this problem to get "Online" the phone for my girlfriend...

iPhone Icons

You can change the icons by pressing it until the cross to remove shows up.

Don't want to leave "empty handed", here are two things you might want to check out:
an English recovery mode and a slide to un(c)lock fix

3G fix apps
Hi ColonelZAp.
That rom already bring installed all the apps that you need to fix your apn settings.
For that you just need another android phone with the same apks installed, then you just need to:
-Set up your apn settings on your android phone
- Use the APN backup & restore to get the XML file
- Copy that file to the folder ApnBackupRestore present on your SD card.
- Make APN Backup & Restore as System App with titanium backup
- Restore the APN settings
- And that's it.
I've tried this on a few phones and it worked on all.
On my personal goophone i5 i already have 3G network Fixed.
About the lockscreen this ROM comes already with that bug fixed.

IF you have a problem with wifi and SIM connection maybe you don't have a genuine goophone.
If it don't work you have a different firmware, so, this rom will not work on your phone.
This ROM is just for Goophone I5 and not for other copies like Zophone, Hero, etc.

Slide to unlock Fixed bug in French language is also set as the big problem comes not from the rom but language translation
Could someone else just upload their apn backup xml file? Would that work?
I don't have another android phone, so this is my only other real option.

Hello there,
I have recently purchased a Goophone I5 but it came with Chinese stuff. Is there a step by step instruction for first flashing the CWM. I would also need step by step instructions for the Gi5 ROM v1.0. I'm a novice and following the instructions above I keep getting an error message as follows "E: signature verification failed", and "Installation aborted". This happens with both the zip files that I have downloaded from the links in your post. Please help. Thanks.

Hi, the recovery.img does not seem to work for me, any help?
The apn xml file that APN Backup & Restore creates, does it have to be for the same carrier we use?
I'd like to know because my beddeh has an android phone that he agreed to let me use to create a backup file, however, he uses another carrier and not Rogers. Will this matter, or will it still work?
Can't " install " ROM

I just bought a Goophone i5. Seems great for the moment, except chinese aps of course. Want to remove them, found this post. I dowloaded the ROM in the link above, put it on the phone (using usb storage). Rebooted the phone in recovery mode as explained (power button + Vol - button).
I can see the options & navigate in them, but i can't choose any of them ! I tried using mute/unmute, power button, and home button. Nothing is working. How can i proceed please ? Thx in advance for you help.
Edit : Ok i found it, you have to slide right to left on the bottom screen (seems logic when you know it ^_^)

I wrote a lengthy reply to your post as soon as I saw your quandary but it got lost as I was logged out (or timed out).
I was (and still am) in the same boat a couple of days back and I'm glad you were able to figure out. I figured this out by accident and it was the only aha moment from the time I got this phone.
I definitely don't want to discourage you but I want to share with you that this moment of joy was short lived. The zip files (neither the ROM or the CWM) did not install. They both failed due to some signature verification error and the install aborted. If you make progress, please share with me on this site as to how you accomplished it. If I figure it out I'll share it here for others in a similar situation.

PS: I also wanted to point out that the Recovery Menu that "Manuxo" has in the original posting is not the same as mine. It has only the following recovery menu items (I'm not a 100% sure, but I think that is what the CWM gets you) ...
- reboot system now

- wipe cache partition
- backup user data
- restore user data

Good news ! I finally managed to solve this. The phone was in fact not rooted at all ! I followed some steps on a youtube channel, search for the user named mayiandjay, watch the " How to root the Goophone i5! One click root! " (there are other usefull videos). Once it was fully rooted, i managed to install a new ROM i found in here (Goophone i5 ROM V1.0). Some bugs are fixed (but i still have the " slide to unclock " bug )
About the CMW, i did not used the one mayiandjay show in his video, because it's all in chinese, I used the CMW from ColonelZap (on the same thread of the ROM V1.0) using the way he (mayiandjay) mentioned (with m44toolbox) and it's working.
The only thing that's not working is the gps, can't get any signal ! Haven't found someone talking about that. Maybe it will be fixed later ?

The GPS sucks. I got at most one satellite. Google maps also cannot detect my location. Waiting for cm9 for this.

Thanks for the update and the helpful hints. I followed everything on Video by "MayiandJay" and my phone is definitely rooted. I even have SuperSU Pro v0.98 but I'm still having issues when I try to install the ROM from the recovery menu. I get a signature validation failure. What version of the recovery menu do you have? I think I have the stock version which does not have all the menu options that Manuxo and others have discussed here. I must have tried this a hundred different ways but in the end I come up with the same result. I even have the ROM Manager Premium installed as well.

I used the one in the link above, works fine. I replaced the original one using m44toolbox (explained on the youtube channel's guy). I had the same signature error message when i tried ton install roms. keep going, you'll find the way
