Noticed something funny with att accessories - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

if you look at the htc one x compatible accessories and look under the cases and play the game one of these items does not belong which is it??? lol had to share

Haha I see what you're talking about.

I just slid the memory card in under my SIM and it worked fine ?????
(JOKE people)

Saw that yesterday. This just shows what kind of fools are working there. Then we ask why we we get our ROM updates a year later than other carriers.

If they are such "fool" then why don't you switch carriers? Seems a little harsh. Out of curiousity ... Where do you work?

It's not harsh, it's the truth. I don't want to switch because these "fools" have the best network coverage and data speeds out of all the "foolish" carriers. I work here http://www.wto.org/

In fairness, the way these e-commerce sites work, every time you load a new product, you can associate it with other products in the system so they show up as suggestions. Usually, you can pick specific products or default it to show up with everything in your store.
In all likelihood, someone just set that SD card to associate with all phones without thinking too hard about it.

I asked ATT this while on the phone with them yesterday. The guy looked and just laughed and said "would you like to buy one?".

When I bought my One X the sales rep went digging in the box for an SD card to insert it for me. He said "hmm let me get one from the back" I then asked him where I'd put it. He had no idea there wasn't an SD card slot on the One X.

Except AT&T stores don't have troves of memory cards in their back rooms, or give them away with phones. Gotta call shenanigans. They also require pretty in depth training on all their devices. Sales people do often allow the customer to think they are smart by simply agreeing, so you may have been played. The online store is another story. Like stated before, it was probably just a automated form, it happens.

Today I lost my Sensation and after filing the claim I felt like I did something wrong. They say because the phone is so new that there is a "24 Hour" hold on the claim and with the long weekend coming I will more than likely see the phone on Tuesday or Wensday next week ......That sucks

You really need to make sure you use one of 100 or so apps that find your phone if you lose it. The technology has been there for a long time....and it works.
You lose your phone....no biggie....goto a computer....you see where your phone is on a map....ya go get your phone.....for the most part its that simple.
The US version comes with Lookout, there are many more. Sounds like you are unaware that apps like these exist..... Just a friendly FYI.....

Asurion wont cover your phone unless your SIM card is in your phone when you loose it, I learned this the hard way after my phone was stolen when my sim card wasnt in the phone, they said they cant replace it under any circumstances no matter who i talk to... I dont know what to do, should I just file another claim and say my SIM was stolen along with the phone and have T-Mobile suspend my line? or am I just screwed?

If that's what the coverage contract says then you're stuck unless you decide to lie, which is fraud and puts you at risk of legal complications. If the contract does not state this exclusion then you may have some recourse, but legal action may be required if they refuse to cover it.
Keep us posted. Lots of people have this insurance and if they are scammers posting it here would be appreciated.

How much did you have to pay in total for the replacement? Like deductible or other fees.
You have to wait the 24 hours because they have to request a device from T-Mobile / HTC then send it to you. Its like pulling teeth because the phone is brand new and they are watching for people to return their "lost" phone to the store or sell it while they wait for the new one.
Sucks that you lost it, you will probably get a new one that they turned into a refurbished one because I doubt they have refurbished devices yet. While I was at Sprint I knew they usually didn't have them till around the sixty day mark.

I have another question since we are on the Topic of SD cards, is there a particular reason i cant use a 64gig card on my infuse or captivate. is there a way to make this happen. any tricks, or is just not possible (32 gig is great) but i would still like to know.

SIM Card Slot Pin Broken ):

Well I switched from an iPhone 4 to the Nexus S (Nexus S is better) but I used a micro-sim adaptor but when I took it out one day it took a pin with it. I called Samsung and they said they don't do repairs like that so where in Canada can I get this repaired? I would love any advice. Thanks!

The person on the phone said as long as it's not physical damage they can fix it for free... which is ridiculous if you ask me because most people on this forum could fix any non-physical damage on the Nexus.
They told me to go to Rogers for some reason to get it repaired even though I said I got the phone as a gift and it was not from Rogers. I guess I'll try calling them again to see if I can get anyone more helpful.

Well after a long time of playing with it I manage to get the phone to read my sim by putting strips of tin foil on the contacts on the sim card. Disappoints me that I have to do this though and now the phone has no resale value.
I just got mine spoiled after returning from a holiday I've tried putting the copper thing back in place and slotting it back but it doesn't work. Now i have to wait till tomorrow to call Samsung support in hope that they will fix it if i pay money because my device has no warranty because it is from Australia and i'm using it in Singapore. Will they accept it to fix it if i pay for the repair?
And can anyone who used aluminium foil or anything to make it work post photos or videos on how to do it? I have no experience in soldering and stuff (15 years old) and i dont know how much foil to put there. Please help me!

Your post is kind of contradictory. You say they wont fix it for free. That suggests that YES they will fix it, but not for free. Which makes total sense, since you physically broke the phone yourself. That's not covered under warranty.
But then you go on to say they told you to talk to Rogers. Your post is very confusing.
Rogers is a carrier. If you have some sort of damage plan or replacement coverage they may help you. Otherwise, at best, they're just going to send it Samsung in the first place. More likely, they won't touch it.
Your options are to try to repair it yourself, try a local shop, or try Samsung again. I seriously doubt that they wouldn't repair it, for $$$.
Or get a 3rd party warranty. Although, that would be pretty unethical and possibly illegal, filing a claim for damage that occurred before you signed up for the plan.

Are there any places where I can buy extra batteries for this phone?

I don't like carrying an external battery charger with me, it's just too much. I don't mind carrying an extra battery itself though. Are there any websites I can order one off of, I can't seem to find any through ebay.
You are aware of the fact that you have to use a screwdriver to open the case and that the battery is glued to the phone? That's why you can't find any replacement batteries.

I know it doesn't have an SD card slot, no OTG usability, and that since I'm in Canada and with one if the big 3, I can use LTE. Just because I missed this doesn't mean I don't know anything.
Seriously, elitists like you are ruining the community. "Omg, he doesn't know x, therefore he doesn't know anything." And guess what, you were wrong.
How could you buy a phone, use it. And then realize that the battery isn't replaceable? I don't think it's the community being rude or anything but that is just the honest truth.

I haven't used it yet. Still waiting for it to come in. On my second post, I say that I'm tempted to cancel my order, because it hasn't come in yet. Seriously, this battery thing is quite annoying. I mean, the whole SD card thing took me a bit to get over, then the no OTG, and now that I see this, it's just like, seriously, why?
Honestly, if I wasn't in Canada and couldn't use LTE (I know one American company can, I don't remember which one) I'd probably just not get the phone.
Anyways, the rude part was assuming I knew nothing based off of not knowing about the battery.

The reason why certain manufacturers chose to have a non-removable battery is that doing so gives them more space internally therefore leads to designing a slight higher capacity battery vs. if there was a removable one. That's how I understand it, but then again you're more than welcome to cancel the order and choose another device out there that would better suit you. That's the great thing about having options. . Enjoy!!

Replacement batteries will pop up. Just like Xperia S. Sony said Xperia S battery is not replaceable, but can be replaced as simple as Nexus 4.
Regarding lte.. This is not an lte phone. It requires you to change spa after each not unless you use another app like taller.
Also, a it is only a matter of time before they disable lte with an ota update. I believe our only works with Rogers but I am not sure..
To be honest this does not sound like the phone for you on my opinion of you are buying it for lte and if you are worried about the battery.

I'm not sure if it's a fan boy thing as much of it's that every review has pretty much mentioned it. It would be like being shocked there was no LTE. In fact, no one has actually even defended google (lg?) for the non removable battery decision, just talked trash about the OP's lack of knowledge.
Maybe fanboy means something different to you though.

Actually yes. for every tech product I buy, I made it a point to pour over as many reviews as possible and learn as much as I can from the official specification list before I made a decision to purchase it. While I'm not saying that everyone should be like me when it comes to purchasing a new tech product, but you gotta at least know about the major features before ordering.
With regards to the reviews part, I'm pretty sure at least 80-90% of the major tech site has mentioned at least once in their review that the battery is non-user replaceable.

It's usually good to know all about it before you drop 300+ dollars on it. Answering the question, yes, I did know every feature/immediate flaw of the phone before buying it. I'm sure most people in the iPhone community as well will be surprised if he goes and asks this same question there, or asks a question about SD cards for the iPhone.
But I sort of see where he's coming from, it's just that it was mentioned a lot in this forum which is why people are a bit more shocked than needed, but I guess it wasn't mentioned aaaaasssss much in just general articles that describe the basic specs of/ introduce the phone.

Nano Sim card Question

I know this may sound dumb to some, but I should have my new Note 5 by noon, and it has a nano card, I upgraded on one of my other lines that was due an upgrade, but want to use my number not that one, will I have to go into the store to have them change it or can I do that over the phone? I apologize if this is general knowledge but a search got me a zillion answers but not exactly what I was looking for
Just call

Why not just swap-out the sim card yourself?

The MDANavymoms signature says that she has a note 4. The note 4 uses a micro sim.

I had previously called, and of course was told Note 5 had Micro Sim and I could just swap, yeah, not the brightest bulb, so just got off the phone again with a different rep and was told that I just had to call in when it got there and give them the sim # and tell them which number I wanted associated with, so that sounds simple enough.
Did you receive the phone yet?I was told that the stores wouldn't have any in stock for 2 weeks after release but a very ride rep

Just got a text from UPS, phone has been delivered! I've gotta leave work at noon to babysit plumbers at home, so now I have something to do besides supervising them!

Good point; in the past, I have trimmed several micro-sims into nano-sims with a scissors. It is easy enough if one is careful. You can also purchase a punch that will cut the sim precisely to size. At about $5, it is a good investment.
