Root & Flashing Rom - I must be STUPID

Last night I rooted my Note
Baseband Version N7000XXLB1 // ANDROID VERSION 2.3.6
So now what I want to do is install a new rom. Nothing fancy .. Nothing with bugs etc .. And apparently I have NO CLUE where to start. Don't know what to download .. I was all proud of myself when I rooted the phone, didin't realize how STUPID I was yet ... Suggestions? I just would like to have a link to "installing Ice Cream for dummies."
I read or heard to install mobile odin. I did and then couldn't find my way back to what I was supposed to do next .. I think I can't do it because I am just so frustrated .. but I think my head is gonna explode. I don't know why I am having so much trouble. I rooted my Streak, my Galaxy Tab, It is possible I am getting senile.

there are too many custom ICS in dev forum,since i been use RR7 for awhile so i think its good for you to start with.Right now ICS 4.0.4 out but install with Aroma and its kind of confusing.I guess you just start with ICS 4.0.3 first and when you use to live today and flash tomorrow and start play something else.Everybody start from beginning...:victory:.Wish you luck

I would suggest that you flash the RocketRom v7.
First, i would flash the AbyssKernel v2.1 and then RocketRom v7

I tried, didn't happen for me.
1. My screen doesn't have the same options as the one in the video.
2. the zip files do not appear when I chose update from sd card. They are there, for sure.

I see that you are currently on 2.3.6, i.e., Gingerbread, hence you can safely flash any thing you want without worrying about the brickbug. Also as you are on GB you do not need Abyss 4.2.
Just decide which ROM you want to Flash (custom or stock). Also if you are planning to flash ICS Roms you have lot many choices. Just search through the forum.

Also if you are planning to install custom ROM, just visit the OP of the developer, for download link (a normal search in google will take you to the same, eg. searching Criskelo ROM for galaxy note in google). You then have to just follow the instruction to the line in the thread. Pls. read all instruction 2-3 time before you actually start flashing.
Further just take a look at this sticky threads if you flash to ICS & then you plan to flash another ICS ROM or go back to GB.

QUESTION: If it doesn't matter what rom I choose, why are they numbered like N7000XXLQ2. I am looking at this list of 4.03 and I don't see any with Baseband that ends XLB1 ..

buddy...if you dont know how to root and install custom ROMS...check the videos in my Signature...
and for the ROM...i would suggest Crash v7...VERY STABLE...and no bugs what so ever...
the video which you are following is the best...just do as he says...

SPEEDMOD,GLNOTECORE,GOKU... these are kernels...that increase speed and batterylife..

Thank you XDA People for holding my hand while I rooted and flashed. You would think it would get easier rather than harder, each time I do it.

Here are instruction to install:
coming from a rooted GB-ROM:
1- download Abyss Kernel 4.2 from here: http://www.mediafire.com/?c65mndvpk6ocbaa
2- put zip-file on your USB-storage
3- boot in Recovery
4- Flash Abyss Kernel 4.2!!!
5- boot back in recovery (you find this option under 'advanced' )
6- FullWipe(cach,davik,data)
7- Flash ROM
8- reboot system
- ...you are done
at step 6 make sure BOOT BACK TO RECOVERY AND THIS ABYSS KERNEL 4.2 ARE TOUCH SCREEN not reboot system..
Dont make thing hard on yourself .Everything will be fine

[Q] K-Touch Hornet II V9

Hello dear XDA-developers,
I am thinking of buying a new phone, so i came across this phone called the "K-Touch Hornet II V9", it is a Chinees phone. and I couldn't find it on xda-developers.com.
So I was wondering if it is possible to have a Custom Rom installed on it.
Maybe to create my own Custom Rom with this toolbox:http://www.xda-developers.com/andro...stallation-with-android-ultimate-toolbox-pro/
I have a technical background so I guess this should be manageable for me to understand.
Anyways hope to get some reactions on this topic.

Hi, las nigth I rooted the Phone whis this tool www . srsroot.com
I have selected the First Root method.
and the program tried to root the phone whith several different tools, and in the process make the phone reboot several times...
In the final steps i was very nervous becouse the phone was rebooting in a loop like half and hour... The Root program in my PC were telling me to wait 1 minute after the phone boot and press ok in the win window after that.
1 time the phone stop looping the boot, so then i tried to unlock the screen to check... but once i didt it, the phone starts to reboot in a loop again.
So, the next time i saw the phone boot ok, i didnt unlock the screnn. I just wait ti finish the boot and press the ok button in my PC.
An then the root program tells me that the root its OK!! The program finished intalling the Superuser.apk... And thats all...
I download Root Checker.apk and verify the succes root after agree to the Superuser App to allow root privileges to the aplication...
I rebooted again the phone and I checked that the root in permanet..
So, by now is how far a can go...
Now I need to intall the CMW 6.0.1.1 to finally Flash a ROM in Spanish and after that intall Gapps from Google...
The same program that root the phone, can make it reboot in recovery mode whit CWM 6.0.1 but in chinese, anyway helping me whit another phone whit the same recovery in English i can go on whit the program and made a Backup of the rooted phone... but i think i am not safe this way flashing a new rom becouse if something go wrong i cannot boot again this mode if i dont boot the phone first in the normal way...
Could anybody help me whit that?
I almost forget, my version of android of my Ktouch V9 is 4.0 and with CN/EN Languages

but on this INTERNATIONAL ROM you are having dual sim + all languages (and this is very important for so many people)

Are you sure we can just flash any i9500 Rom in xda via cwm?
I know that I'll loose dual sum functionality, but as it seems dual sim is not as important as keeping the device up to date.

Never tried the i9500 rom but I've read it here on the xda that is possible due to the same hardware specs ,only problem is losing dualsim functionality,i bought this device exactly for dual sim combined with hi-tech ,otherwise I would have taken i9505 witch is the most up-to-date and developed version of s4 .Still nothing on this world is 100% safe so ... each on his own in experimenting ,I take no responsibility :angel:

Using Odin 3 3.09 I have succesfully loaded Philz 6.55. Odin gives the "PASS!" message
But still I cannot figure out how to enter Philz:
pressing Volume up + home + power lets the device boot into the stock ROM 4.4.2
I have enabled
- debugging mode
- USB debugging
My device info are:
GT-I9502
Android 4.4.2
Baseband: I9502ZNUHNE4
Kernel: 3.4.1-1494240
SE for android status: enforced
Build number: KOT49H.
Questions:
Does Philz root the device? (Maybe this is the problem). I cannot see any SU super user app in the apps drawer
- What am I missing?

I have been working on I9502 for more than two month now. The main mistake I did is that I installed KK 4.4.2 stock ROM. After that I could not find a working method to root it I even tried the Chinese page (using Google Translate) with no luck even perfect rooting tools like Towelroot didn't work. Yet I have been able to install a lot of stuff like HTC Blinkfeed, LG G3 Keyboard and many other stuff. The trick is to install Philz Recovery of I9500 and the put AromaFM zip file on your SD card then flash it through the recovery. This will open a file manager window where you can copy and paste at will to System folder. After copy a few files the folder will be full. No worries just delete the APK of the Chinese apps from the App folder and you will have enough space to do a lot.
I hope some of the experts here will help us in rooting this device. Hope this helps

You should not face any problem if use the correct firmware which you can download from Sammobile website.

I have i9502.
The only custom ROM thats works good I found is SVA ROM

now there is a free alternative of i9502 lollipop multilinguage + gapps rom here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/general/rom-sasiskas-rom-galaxy-s4-duos-t3148661 ,follow his istructions and thank him there .I can help you with details if you have problems as i ve tested it and it works fine but to install it one needs to follow some strict steps .Enjoy

[Q] Lost CSC features after Re-Flashing Dr.Ketan 4.3 Hybrid v3 ROM

Hi,
I flashed Dr.Ketan's 4.3 V3 Hybrid ROM on my GT-N7100.. its really good.. but had too much battery drain issues.. So , i re-flashed it with the same ROM and found the below CSC features missing after the new flashing.
1. Call button from logs and contacts missing.
2. Call answer minimised window which was present in previous flash is missing...
3. LT speed meter appears next to wifi symbol unlike to the left corner in previous flash.
while re-flashing,I enables most of the CSC features and i am sure of enabling the "Enable Call button feature".
Message folder view does not work even after enabling it. please help me to get back the above features...

i cant help you, becouse i am newbee, bu maybe you can help me. for root i use odin 3.07 and CF-Auto-Root-t03g-t03gxx-gtn7100.tar. root was sucesseful. i copy DrKetan_Custom_ROM_V3Hybrid.zip no my sd card and start install, but process want start. what to do?

Here are steps and links how to do it. I think you messed up in the first step itself..
Step 1: Download Philz recovery and flash it using ODIN ( ref: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2445480 )
Step 2: download Dr.Ketan's Multitool and flash is using Philz recovery ( installed in step 1)
Step 3: Copy Dr.Ketan's ROM and then install it..
Step 4: Install the fixes
There you go.....
But if you are not very particular about Dr.Ketan's ROM. i just installed DN3 ROM from Electron team... it also a great ROM. I am using it right now.. works like a charm... But you need to do the Step 1 and 2 from the above to have it rooted.
DN3 has got all the features that Doc's ROM has plus.. you get Smart Pause and Smart Scroll features additional... Check this out.. I now prefer DN3 for its additional features.. Check the link below.

Hello friends.
I'm a medium level user of android.
I will tell my problem hoping you give a solution to me.
First of all, I could finally root my phone.
It's an Alcatel 4010a It's a MT6575 device.
When I tried to flash a CWM recovery IMG with Mobileuncle, the phone were stucked on Logo Brand when I tried to boot in recovery mode.
It was damaged, but It was just the recovery, 'cause when I booted normally, it did work.
I have two phones, just the same model. The other one is working fine so I made a Backup with MTKDroid Tools.
Then I processed the backup for SP Flashtool.
When I tried to flash just the recovery by selecting the scatter file generated by MTKDroid Tools. And just select recovery.
The download finished OK but after that the phone doesn't turn on. Just there a light when I try to turning it on.
So I decided to flash the completed backup ROM, but It's imposible.
When I use 2 differente versions of SP Flashtool I get 2 differents erros.
1: S_DA_UPDATE_BOOTLOADER_FILE_SIZE_EXCEEDS_BOUNDARY_ADDR (3142)
2: ERROR (8038) Pleas use FIRMWARE UPGRADE instead of download.
Woul you help with this issue?

Hi guys, I'm new here but, have you tried to restore the Stock ROM with OneTouchUpgrade for T'Pop
I rooted the phone with IsujashiRoot, but it seems to cause a problem with the camera (it doesn`t works) so I decided to start again the process and I've found this program
Search in the Alcatel page of your country for the program and when you found your device tap in support (in my case I'm mexican... yeah, that's why my english actually sucks) :silly:
Anyway, I hope this works for you guys :fingers-crossed:

hello, i'm new in this process, i have a alcatel 4007a, (PIXI), my english it's so bad, but i hope to understand me, my alcatel is bricked and have much difficult for to restore with sp flash tool, because i obtained these errors (3142, and others, and don't to download the PRELOADER, and getting this error 3142 DA download exeded partition boundary in this device... ¿any solution for the preloader?

you can fix this problem by going to google and searching alcatel one touch and then go to their website, look for your phone and download the upgrade tool, your phone should be unbricked and fully functional after re-installing the firmware

i have the same problem but the solution is use the ONE TOUCH UPGRADE¡
the problem of the cwm is the same i hava a alcatel ot 4010a and i tried a intall the cwm with mobile uncle tools¡ and my phone dot not enter in the cwm. but i dont know i think that the cwm is only for 4010x o other verisons but not for the 4010a.
