There is stock firmware for N8000 on Mobile Uncle - products.mobileuncle.com (【移动叔叔首发】天星I9220/N8000 官方5月9号线刷ROM，附刷机教程。 ). But it is on Chinese. May be somene translate it to English (how to flash it)?

Hi All,
I am still not enable to restart my N8000 Phone
Here is what I did
after a bad Custom rom flash (because I used the Star i9220 Rom )
I booted to chinese recovery A750 (V2.0.1)
I used the following flash process :
Flash process:
1) wipe system/data/cache/dalvik-cache
2) installed the zip of ROM from sdcard Taiwan101_STAR-N8000_V.05
3) installed the zip "data2.5g.zip"
4) reseted the phone
5) the phone restart , it display the "Android Blue Robot" and then the "Johny picture" and the only black screen.
So, I do no know what can I do ?
may be I can try to download the recovery but How can I boot to the bootloader mode ?
what is the keys to press a the startup ?
I wish that I will be able to rescue my N8000 Phone !

Hi,
I tried to follow the procedure to flash the recovery with the SPFT software
I selected the scatter file
I selected the recovery file
I click on "Download" button
dowloading starting but after a while, I get folowwing Error message "s_dl_get_dram_setting_fail 5054"
I saw on other forum that other people also get this error message.

here we have another version of n8000 but with built in tv analog...we call it Nova Note 2!
and the best part of Nova Note 2 is using android 4.1.5!
i hv try the 2.5g trick on it... it's work but still cant see the 2gb.. hehehe
then suddenly i hv bricked the phone... try porting the n8000 v5 rom... and its work but without tv analog... hehehe
so now...i need help... if anyone can give me the CWM with nandroid backup function... coz i want to make nandroid backup for 4.1.5 from my firends phone... i hv the chinesse version... but cant recognise the language... hehehe

There is no Android 4.1.5. Latest official Android Sources is 4.0.4.

haaha I also don't believe it...trying goigle about it..but can't find... but its on my hand rite now... will give screnshoot tmorrow...

all seems ok..WIFI signal i think ok coz i stand about 30feet from my router and still connect with 2bar..

Baseband Version N7000XXLB1 // ANDROID VERSION 2.3.6
So now what I want to do is install a new rom. Nothing fancy .. Nothing with bugs etc .. And apparently I have NO CLUE where to start. Don't know what to download .. I was all proud of myself when I rooted the phone, didin't realize how STUPID I was yet ... Suggestions? I just would like to have a link to "installing Ice Cream for dummies."
I read or heard to install mobile odin. I did and then couldn't find my way back to what I was supposed to do next .. I think I can't do it because I am just so frustrated .. but I think my head is gonna explode. I don't know why I am having so much trouble. I rooted my Streak, my Galaxy Tab, It is possible I am getting senile.

there are too many custom ICS in dev forum,since i been use RR7 for awhile so i think its good for you to start with.Right now ICS 4.0.4 out but install with Aroma and its kind of confusing.I guess you just start with ICS 4.0.3 first and when you use to live today and flash tomorrow and start play something else.Everybody start from beginning...:victory:.Wish you luck

I tried, didn't happen for me.
1. My screen doesn't have the same options as the one in the video.
2. the zip files do not appear when I chose update from sd card. They are there, for sure.

I see that you are currently on 2.3.6, i.e., Gingerbread, hence you can safely flash any thing you want without worrying about the brickbug. Also as you are on GB you do not need Abyss 4.2.
Just decide which ROM you want to Flash (custom or stock). Also if you are planning to flash ICS Roms you have lot many choices. Just search through the forum.
Read Dr. Ketans Guide for root & flashing stock ROMs here, with additonal information in his signature: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
Also if you are planning to install custom ROM, just visit the OP of the developer, for download link (a normal search in google will take you to the same, eg. searching Criskelo ROM for galaxy note in google). You then have to just follow the instruction to the line in the thread. Pls. read all instruction 2-3 time before you actually start flashing.
Further just take a look at this sticky threads if you flash to ICS & then you plan to flash another ICS ROM or go back to GB.

QUESTION: If it doesn't matter what rom I choose, why are they numbered like N7000XXLQ2. I am looking at this list of 4.03 and I don't see any with Baseband that ends XLB1 ..

buddy...if you dont know how to root and install custom ROMS...check the videos in my Signature...
and for the ROM...i would suggest Crash v7...VERY STABLE...and no bugs what so ever...

SPEEDMOD,GLNOTECORE,GOKU... these are kernels...that increase speed and batterylife..

Here are instruction to install:
coming from a rooted GB-ROM:
1- download Abyss Kernel 4.2 from here: http://www.mediafire.com/?c65mndvpk6ocbaa
2- put zip-file on your USB-storage
3- boot in Recovery
4- Flash Abyss Kernel 4.2!!!
5- boot back in recovery (you find this option under 'advanced' )
6- FullWipe(cach,davik,data)
7- Flash ROM
8- reboot system
- ...you are done
at step 6 make sure BOOT BACK TO RECOVERY AND THIS ABYSS KERNEL 4.2 ARE TOUCH SCREEN not reboot system..

Are you sure we can just flash any i9500 Rom in xda via cwm?
I know that I'll loose dual sum functionality, but as it seems dual sim is not as important as keeping the device up to date.

Never tried the i9500 rom but I've read it here on the xda that is possible due to the same hardware specs ,only problem is losing dualsim functionality,i bought this device exactly for dual sim combined with hi-tech ,otherwise I would have taken i9505 witch is the most up-to-date and developed version of s4 .Still nothing on this world is 100% safe so ... each on his own in experimenting ,I take no responsibility :angel:

Using Odin 3 3.09 I have succesfully loaded Philz 6.55. Odin gives the "PASS!" message
But still I cannot figure out how to enter Philz:
pressing Volume up + home + power lets the device boot into the stock ROM 4.4.2
I have enabled
- debugging mode
- USB debugging
My device info are:
GT-I9502
Android 4.4.2
Baseband: I9502ZNUHNE4
Kernel: 3.4.1-1494240
SE for android status: enforced
Build number: KOT49H.
Questions:
Does Philz root the device? (Maybe this is the problem). I cannot see any SU super user app in the apps drawer
- What am I missing?

I have been working on I9502 for more than two month now. The main mistake I did is that I installed KK 4.4.2 stock ROM. After that I could not find a working method to root it I even tried the Chinese page (using Google Translate) with no luck even perfect rooting tools like Towelroot didn't work. Yet I have been able to install a lot of stuff like HTC Blinkfeed, LG G3 Keyboard and many other stuff. The trick is to install Philz Recovery of I9500 and the put AromaFM zip file on your SD card then flash it through the recovery. This will open a file manager window where you can copy and paste at will to System folder. After copy a few files the folder will be full. No worries just delete the APK of the Chinese apps from the App folder and you will have enough space to do a lot.
I hope some of the experts here will help us in rooting this device. Hope this helps

You should not face any problem if use the correct firmware which you can download from Sammobile website.
I have i9502.
The only custom ROM thats works good I found is SVA ROM
now there is a free alternative of i9502 lollipop multilinguage + gapps rom here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/general/rom-sasiskas-rom-galaxy-s4-duos-t3148661 ,follow his istructions and thank him there .I can help you with details if you have problems as i ve tested it and it works fine but to install it one needs to follow some strict steps .Enjoy

I am thinking of trying this, the idea of needing to root to setcpu is a bit concerning for me at the moment (I have rooted all my other phones except this note edge)...
If this stock upgrade has deepsleep issues, whats the process to downgrade ? an i just take the stock 4.4.4 file and push that through odin or do i need new PIT files etc ?

Just an note to people, I ran this upgrade earlier today, I have had no issues with deep sleep and thus far the ROM is very stable for me (I had some minor issues with Play Services which an upgrade seems to have resolved).

Hi mate,
first of all many thanks [email protected] for the first lollipop Rom for the 915F/FY
the first step is, dowload KIES for the device drivers and install it. Reboot your PC/Laptop. Now you make this steps
1. make a backup from your Rom in the recovery (phone off and 3 finger combo -power/home key and loudness up at the same time-), in addition you can backup your calls, sms and so on in the phone settings/samsung account
2. download the the files from the Rom page (firmware, Odin, cwm recovery ánd the autoroot by chainfire). I prefer one new folder (you can create it of your choice on you PC/Laptop)
3. phone off and with the finger combo to recovery and do a factory reset
4. phone off and now with 3 fingers -power/home key/loundness down to the download mode. Push on time the loudness up key
5. open Odin 3.09 and connect your phone with the PC. You must see the COM and added
6. open your folder with the firmware download and put the AP file to AP, the BL file to BL, the CP file to CP and the home CSC file to CSC. Have a look that ONLY autoreset and time is checked
7. push START
8. now you can drink a cup of coffee and wait until the phone reboots. This will take serveral minutes (since this is lollipop, it can take up to 10 minutes)
9. if the flash is ready you see the first setting. Do all settings there and you have Lollipop on your phone.
now to the root:
first have a look in the SettingsSystem/About device that the developer options are ready. Push 7 times to the buildnumber and you have it. Go to the dev options and choose the USB debugging. Go back to the Security and have a look that Reactivation lock is unticked also the Knox security is disable
1. unzip the cf-autoroot file
2. phone off and go to the download mode
3. open the unzipped autoroot file and set the .tar file to AP in Odin
4. Push START
5. now wait up the reboot. Have a look in the App drawer and search the superSU App. If all is ok you have root on your device but KNOX is triggered to 0x1
For the recovery make the points 2-4 as the root
now you can download this App or any other CPU controler from the Play Store and set the min. freq. to 300 mhz

I got no weather info on the Edge Panel. It is enabled in Panel settings, set to 1 hour refresh and location is fine. But still no weather. Anybody a suggestion???

First of all, you must root your phone!
So:

Thanks for the guidance dinamo1975. I followed these steps and have successfully rooted my SM-G920F using Odin/Twrp. Is there a modified ROM available for this phone (S6) based on LineageOS? If I've understood correctly these 2 ROMs are debloated stock ROMs. I've looked but couldn't find anything. Maybe there is no such thing?

I used the you tube guide provided by usmanalitoo called "How to Root Samsung Galaxy S6/S6 Edge/S6 Edge Plus Nougat 7.0 Easily!"
Search for it. This message board prevents me from posting the URL because I am a "New User".
It has much more detail. It's a bit fast so I had to watch some sections several times to see what he was doing.
Make sure you've downloaded the latest version of Odin and Twrp. He shows how this is done.
He uses a file called Nougat_Root_SuperSu_No_kernel_included.zip which he downloads from MediaFire.
You have to read the URL for this download from the screen shot. It's a bit awkward. You end up with a fully
rooted phone with Twrp as the active recovery software so you are all set to install custom ROMs quite
easily. I should warn you that there is a marked shortage of ROMs for the S6, plenty for the S5 and for the
S7. For the S6 there seem to be very few. Why? I have no idea.
At 3.41 in the video, the first time he boots the phone into Twrp recovery mode I had problems. It did
not happen as smoothly as it does in the video. I had to reboot the phone MANY times and repeatedly
use the VOL-UP+POWER+HOME key combination before the phone reluctantly booted into Twrp.
You can see from the comments under the video that many people had the same issue. But it does
rectify itself eventually.
I may be able to help if you get stuck. Good luck.

the phone work well but i have done nothing in this way..

finally i have done all! now it is rooted correctly!
now i have 2 issue:
-samsung healt doesn't work
-continuous appearing of request for passwor for samsung account.
how can i resolve these?
id like also to do 2 things:
-use youtube also when screen is off
-drop down notification bar simply sliding on display
are these possible whit root?

r/L is 'Reactivation Lock' I believe.
