Post a link with proof. Last time I read, 3.3 caused issues and 3.4 should be good to go.

Cyanogen is as close as your're going to get.
And why do you say it's not AOSP?

I cannot share them exactly... i got them from a Paid Application called Absolute System. It's a root tool I strongly recommend this app. But anyway i can share a link with you from a flashable .zip here on XDA.

I too use that font. If you are going to use the flashable zip on a gingerbread rom you have to downgrade to cwr 2.5.1.x with amend script support.
there is a pure 2.3 gingerbread that faux put out. its not CM or anything its a base ASOP thats been built straight from google code if you want to check it out. its in the rom development area.
Yeah, was going to recommend Faux's AOSP build in the dev section. I haven't used it, but it is probably as close to pure AOSP as you are going to get and still be functional. Check it out.
Don't forget about ultimate Droid, 3.2.0 new for mytouch that has Gingerb, and idk if its vanilla but I can install the rom with 2.5.1.2 recovery, if that means anything at all lol

Yeah, it's a great ROM also, but we aren't "supposed to speak of it” even though he now credits Cyanogen in the ROM

I looked that ROM up.. its what I was looking for (thankyou), but development has stopped for personal reasons for now its not the most stable build right now

what does that have to do with anything? there are a few devs who have provided ROMs for shift users that don't physically own the device.
hoping to try thsi tomorrow. will provide logs if it doesn't work or isn't figured out by then.

I'm not sure who your talking about, but for sense rom ports the kernels are built to only be running on one rom. And most of the time, they just use the htc source for that, or the android kitchen. This is not a sense kernel. This is aosp, and was not built to run on a specific rom. If you can't test a aosp kernel it's really difficult to tell how well it will work. Just saying it's better if you own the device. Hope it get's working soon and I would try it if it works.

This kernel really needs uv. Other than that it's working great. I have a ton of clock options and a couple exrta governor's.
Edit: uc works good but 1.8, 1.9, and 2.0ghz all lock up on me on the ondemand governor.

New kernel 3.x for G2X ICS

Is there any chance for us to have new kernel 3.x for G2X ICS?
Faux123 has an unofficial/unsupported beta out (same disclaimer as the SK) and I saw Morfic saying something in the direction of releasing one at some point as well. Once ICS is at least into beta stages I wouldn't expect to see a whole lot of mods for it.

That wasn't his question. Haha, he was asking if we hould have an updated kernel based off of 3.x. Right now we have 2.x.x.x
To the OP: I doubt we will, unless nVidia finally decides to release the drivers.

Sad but true. we have some great Dev's, i know they will tune, tweak, port and hack the best they can. I have faith In them.
We had a dev over in galaxy s 4g that was trying the same for that phone. until the noobs n whiners pushed him away. sad day
anyway, he went through and strip the samsung built kernel to a minimum to match with an AOSP kernel. then compared it to an AOSP 3.x kernel and tried to port that way. dont know how far he gotten but that might work.
of course some drivers may not be compatible but it shouldnt be worse than with 2.x kernels in ICS.
Also, 3.x is just because Linus wanted to up the version number for the hell of it. He said so himself, there isnt any drastic change
Thank you for your post. You gave me some ideas on what to do. I am on EB's ics and have an error with wifi calling.....I will tell ya more later if this idea works. Thank you.

Also consider that the International sgs2 uses the Exynos421x processor, where as the sgs4g uses the intrepid-hummingbird S5PC110 processor. Totally different.
7TimesCursed just gave me a tip that will help me move forward with CM7. (something I was hung up on)
CM9 is also still under development. A port would mean a buggy phone.
An ICS port would indeed be better.
After CM7 port is done, I still have plans to rebase our phone specific kernel stuff to the samsung aosp kernel. That my help us port to the 3.0.1 kernel that ICS uses. This is still a ways off, and hopefully by then CM9 will stabilize.
To the future!

thederekjay's latest Darkside v12 Kernel

Hoping someone can help me out - I apparently deleted the copy of tdj's 12.11.11 version of darkside v12 2.6.35.14 kernel. I'm rebuilding my dd with the 7.2 stable but I love that kernel - unfortunately, the account that the download link leads to is suspended.
Anyone know of a mirror or have a copy of it?
Many thanks!

Glad you pointed that out. Luckily it's easily fixed.
Copy the modules folder from the zip to your /system/lib folder and change permissions to rw-,r--,r-- and owner to root.
Reboot and enjoy wifi.
Edit: I extracted the zimage and made a new zip that works with ext3 or ext4 filesystems. Tested and working;
