I am running the leaked ATT I727UCLE2 radio and I always find my phone switching from 3g to H+. I usually get data drops that require reboots at least once per day. Am I alone here or is this what to expect from the leaked radios? Are there better radios out that I can try?

Depends on weather or not your on ics or GB
I have run ucle2 on practically every rom in our threads . Ics and GB both no problems.
Might be my location though. I am in a non-lte area.

Are you on an ICS rom? If so check your APN values, I had the same problem on AOKP and noticed the values were completely off.
Im running ucle2 and i get the same H+ to 3G problem. I'm on rogers though. I'm gonna try flashing the stock rogers modem and see where it goes.

I am the same. I find the reception on this phone so awful. It's always losing connection and can't keep H+.
There is no such thing as a "best" radio. One radio will work better for one person than someone else. Give what ever radio a try and see if you like it, and if it doesn't work give another radio a try. Just make sure that what ever radio you flash is for the proper android release and you should be good.

While my radio seems to be mostly working, I don't know if any other would work better or give me faster speeds. It seems my data reception is a bit variable, sometimes web pages load slow enough not to seem like 3G, other times speed is decent.
I have TMobile USA in a 3/4g area, InsertCoin 3.4.4, and radio 10.58.9035.00P_10.15.9035.02_2. What is considered best Radio and RIL for TMobile USA?

Saint Louis, where we have 10mhz of AWS.
I would like to go to the 10.56 radio and ril .169. I understand the safest way to flash the radio is to flash a RUU, updating the ROM as well. I would like to get rid of the InsertCoin anyway as I am having another issue with it. I want to keep clockwork, the factory unlocked state and root. This phone was an Asian factory unlocked phone, but I want an English RUU. Any recommendations?
Actually, i realized that I have a mismatch between my RIL and my radio (I didn't change yet). (This is how the seller set my phone up, as I bought it used.)
I have 10.58.9035.00U_10.15.9035.02_2 with HTC-RIL 2.2.0169HMQ.
From the RIL thread, I see that if I am to have 10.58, I should have this RIL
HTC-RIL 2.2.0173HMQ from the new Sensation XE RUU!
Radio versions 10.15.9035.02_2
Actually, I plan to switch to the 10.56 radio, and I already have its RIL, so I will skip flashing the RIL.

I just got Skyrocket. I have never spent so much on a cellphone before.
Now I have 5.99 unlimited data plan from T-mobile. It is well known as T-zone or Web2Go. I was so eager to try this phone on T-mobile and see if it worked.
After unlocking the Skyrocket, I first rooted then tried flashing different modems from Rogers, Telus, T-mobile KID, VK1 and ect but none of them worked. I was only able to pick up voice signal on stock Radio.
Then I tried flashing the phone with Juggernaut and tried flashing modems. Now I started getting HSPA+ signals. For me KID and Telus modem worked the best. Average download speed was around 5-6mb/s. As the Juggernaut ROM was originally intended for 989, it seemed little unstable for me.
Then I tried Sky ICS stock and Telus combo. Wow, Now I was getting download speed of 10mb/s on T-zone. This combo was nicer because phone did not try to search for UMTS signal so frequently as much as it did with Juggernaut. However now my voice signal dropped down to 1 bar and call quality was horrible(at least it was audible).
Has anyone found any other good ROM/kernel/modem combo for Skyrocket that works best on T-mobile?
Flash tpc v3, and then flash faux sky-kernel 009m. Flash telus radio and make sure j have the right apn (access point names) for T-Mobile. This should clear u right up

I was surprised that battery drain is so significant when idle. My old HD2 uses only 2mA when idle, but my skyrocket uses over 100mA even when gps, data, bluetooth turned off. hope new combo fixes this battery drainage problem as well.

depending on coverage, area and carrier that may be why he's doing better than u. Speed tests are all relative, and should only be taken based in averages. If he's living right beside an LTE tower and he's the only one who has an LTE phone for a quarter mile, his speeds will certainly be faster than someone who lives half a mile away from one and has another 200 people using the tower at the same time

Coverage in NYC is great. Have HTC Sensation and SkyRocket, both with T-Mobile. At the same spot Sensation gets 7Mbit/1.7MBit, while SkyRocket is 7MBit/0.1MBit, so the problem could be in modem, kernel or ROM. Modem is the suspect #1. It seems U/L freq. is the one causing slow upload speeds.

i have been using the skyrocket on tmobile for 2 days now. i get 2-3 mbps down at work until 4pm or so and then it degrades to 200-500 kbps. i don't know if it is the phone or the tmobile network, but i did not have this issue before with my nexus one.
as i drive away from work, i suppose when i switch towers, i get back to 2-3 mbps down.
this is the behavior that i have noticed the past 2 days.

on another note, i wanted to ask if it is safer and more compatible to be running skyrocket roms and kernels or tmobile galaxy sii roms and kernels?
of course the common theme would be tmobile / telus radio. i'm currently running TPC rom with faux's kernel and tmobile vk1 radio and i am having issues with 8tracks app. it keeps pausing and won't play again until i skip track. i have so far determined it is not the radio, since this happens on both tmobile and telus radio.

I've tried flashing new radios (which doesn't actually do anything. Still says I'm using the same radio) and I've tried looking through build.prop.
I don't know what to do, but I'm going slightly insane trying to figure out how to use LTE.
It's not in *#*#4636#*#* or the Settings. It's all just HSPA and 3G.
Does anybody know how to fix this? I've seen plenty of people mention that their LTE works fine with MIUI, yet haven't come across a reason as to why.
Please help me out!

Has anyone had a problem with a Verizon network extender putting the phone in roaming? I flashed a MIUI rom and it works awesome until i get home. My network extender puts my phone in roaming on Sprint network. I've unplugged the network extender and phone immediately goes back to Verizon. Any help would be appreciated.
This happens to me also. Instead of Verizon it will say out of neighborhood. This also happens on CM10 but i get a "R". Solution for me was to flash an older radio. It seemed to do this when i flashed the leaked newer radios.

What radio did you flash back to. This "R", and lack of signal even when sitting top of my extender, and the general lack of support for Verizon Extenders leaves me frustrated, so I would love to get things back on track. What are you seeing when on the older radio?

What is this supposed to mean? Also, I read a few posts on Rootzwiki somewhere in this thread:

and
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/34053-mo...recovery-flashable/page__st__390#entry1049281
...and it seems that flashing the ICS modems removes the "r" when you're on the home extender. So, VRALF2-->VRALHE may not have the "r" logo. Idk what the difference is but only on the JB modems have I seen any of these posts being reported.
Edit: And after looking at my link, its a change that Verizon implemented on the JB builds.
I have a rooted and unlocked at&t skyrocket on jellybean 4.1.2 with very slow speeds, so I tried flashing the radios UCMC1 and UXUMA7 through cwm and nothing has changed. After messing with the APN settings a little my data is no longer working. It shows the bars but I can't get a connection.
I flashed the radio UVLI1 in hopes that I would get lucky but that caused my bars to go away to be replaced by a slashed circle. I flashed back to UCMC1 which is showing the bars, but still no data connection. I have broken my back googling and searching forums on this matter but I can't seem to figure this out. Any help please?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2349914
Don't double post
I think UCMC1 and UXUMA7 are ATT and Rogers radios respectively. UVLI1 is the T-Mobile SGS2 ICS radio, which may not work on your JellyBean rom.
Try UVMC6, which is the radio for T-Mobile's SGS2 Jelly Bean update. You can find it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1895400
Results can never be guaranteed, but this is the radio I use, and it has worked fine on every single rom I've tried, Touchwiz or AOSP, even in areas w/o the 1900Mhz refarm.

It depends on what you observe using either of these..
Try them one by another and see which one is better (UCMC1 vs UX radio) in signal and data speeds ... Personally I couldn't find any difference in my location ... Both gave me the exact same signal and data speeds (TM LTE).

The UX gave me faster data speeds. Call clarity is about the same. I see 4G more than with the UC radio... I was wondering about the T-Mobile radio
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
T-Mobile radios would give you the ability to connect to T-Mobile 3G using AWS bands 1700/2100 Mhz Band4...And no LTE (or 4G) of course since the Hercules and Blaze (or the note one from TM) devices have no LTE radio chip...
If you live in an area in which T-Mobile deployed their new LTE(and most likely they already refarmed the PCS 1900 band), use UCMC1 or the UXMA7 radio, whichever you find better...Setting the apn to fast.t-mobile.com is essential for sure to get the service...
If you live in an area that T-Mobile is still at their 3G service (AWS bands for HSPA+) use the newest blaze JB radio...
Edit : when you say faster data speeds UX vs UC , any speed vs speed measurement you can share ? probably I didn't give each radio enough testing and jumped to conclude that they have same data speeds !
:good:
