From what I can see this phone is identical to ours. It's the Korean sgs2 lte and has source code released for ICS on the Samsung open source center.
Could someone maybe confirm this to be true or tell me why I'm dumb.

Not sure, seems like it's a possibility. Need a good old dev to shed some light. Sgh-i777 uses i9100 source for CM9 and AOKP. I'm hoping this would be a similar situation

Hmmm. Well, it does have a 1.5 GHz Dual-core Scorpion CPU and a Qualcomm MSM8660 Snapdragon chipset. This sounds like this could maybe possibly work.
I know you can just get it from Samsung but here it is if anyone wants it:

That would actually be pretty cool, although I don't think it would be possible due to the fact that WebOS isn't designed to run on the Tegra 2 Platform. Then again, I might be wrong.

Exactly... the fact that it is open source does not mean squat... you have to have drivers to link the hardware to the software... and even if nvidia releases all the source code for the tegra2 drivers this will not matter as it is coded for android...
fundamentally it is possible to do, the only problem is one would have to code the drivers and everything related to them from the ground up with having very little clue where to start... a next to impossible feat...

HTC One X or S3? lemme know ur guys thoughts on this!!
Sounds like the US model will be lte.. probably getting the dual core kraits like the One S/X Att model. I have the One S, the only advantage to me would be removable storage of the S3. I prefer smaller screens and the One S form factor is awesome. I think this year's releases from both HTC and Samsung look promising.
I guess the last point or question would be Touchwiz or Sense? I have always prefered Sense if It's not vanilla aosp.

That would make me jump ship, but I have seen multiple reports stating it will be dual core for T-mo because t-mo is more concerned with the high speed data.

Take the T-Mobile Galaxy S II for example. The original Exynos processor found in the international Galaxy S II wasn't compatible with the full speed 42mbps HSPA+ that T-Mobile has, so T-Mobile opted for a Snapdragon S3 instead.

S4 krait snapdragon is a15 which has 40% more per core performance than standard a9 in exynos. The gpu in the exynos is better. But the CPU is weaker. Performance will actually be the same now unlike last year Samsung galaxy s2 fiasco. All phones will have vsync on so you will be locked at 60 fps regardless of what processor you have. Development should be unpar with the exynos since the USA will have s4 and international exynos. A15 dual core has the performance slightly Better than quadcore a9. Regardless of benchmarks.

that's stupid. tmobile is changing their towers to include the 1900mhz spectrum, just buy the int'l version of the s3, problem solved. Cpu makes a big difference in how clear the screen is/photo quality. I had an Epic 4G Touch with Sprint (has the dual core Exynos) before coming to T-Mobile and it was a lot better than this phone in just about every way, the screen's colors were more vivid, there was less noise in photos, image quality was incredible, battery lasted longer, even images taken with the front facing camera were nicer, response times were faster. Cpu makes a big difference. Have fun with the iPhone, not that anyone cares about how Samsung disappointed you.

The difference was no one seems to get this Samsung actually optimized the software around exynos. The Samsung Galaxy S2 with qualcomm processor was ported software. Not as well optimized as the exynos. Samsung was in a rush to get the phone released in the states. Samsung knowing LTE is the big thing in the USA. Will optimize both phones equally now. Especially if the phones are being released so closely towards each other. Even the developers in the Samsung Galaxy s3 forum are saying that the 2 gig krait cpu is the better phone. A9 dual core to a9 quad core is not much of an improvement. Krait actually is and it keeps up with the best with less cores. Until true a15 cores come out.

So as many know the International version of the s3 has a lot more development than we do here. But my question here is shouldn't it be pretty easy to port them to the VZW version? I am waiting on a non buggy MIUI from the International Gs3. I tried porting one from Galaxy nexus but it didnt boot. I will try again soon someday once our RIL gets worked out. Its really weird right now, its based on a GSM stack when our phone is both CDMA and GSM. They are working on a CDMA stack on r.cyanogenmod.com, and once that gets fully approved I will work on this project.

It is possible. Entropy did this for the AT&T sgs2 so we could flash anything in the dev forums. The only issue was both sgs2 had the same hardware for the most part except for the buttons. In our case it is different; we have completely different processors. They have a quad core eynkos(lucky *******s) and we have dual core snapdragon. This is just one obstacle of many. The best thing to do would be to go an post in the threads for the Roms that you like in the i9300 forums and ask the dev to port it to our phones. You may not get a response but the more people that ask the chances are better the we will see them port some of those Roms. The best rom over there in my opinion is omega rom. Believe it or not they are listening. That how we go some many ports on the sgs2

"Galaxy S2 Plus" What a Joke!
http://news.cnet.com/8301-1035_3-57...ls-galaxy-s2-plus-with-a-shot-of-android-4.1/
http://www.androidcentral.com/samsung-unveils-galaxy-s2-plus-minor-spec-bump-over-original
JUST LIKE THE S2:
- The S2 Plus will offer a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor
- 1GB of RAM
- 4.3-inch WVGA Super AMOLED Plus display
- An 8-megapixel camera with an LED flash on the back
- 2-MP camera graces the front
Differences to the S2:
- Many of the plus versions will have NFC
- The Internal memory is 8GB unlike the original 16gb s2's
- Can Support a 64gb card (very likely due to running JB)
- Will come boxed with JB 4.1.2
Main upgrades:
- Plus variant will be running JB.4.1.2 out of the box
So basically Samsung are re-releasing our phone with stock installed JB and will probably retail for a very stupid price, this make me think we are actually going to get an official update well after this releases worldwide which could be a few months. hopefully our devs can port a plus ROM once it leaks. i reckon Samy just getting rid of old stock which was banned to sell in the USA after the APPLE lawsuit, but now the ban has been reversed.

Yep, we'll have to wait till s2+is released worldwide and then the updates will begin to roll out. Add another month to that for each individual region. Ironically jb has already started rolling out for the galaxy s advance... I dont understand Samsung's crazy marketing strategy. If you think deeper you may realize this is not a bad thing. So they are realising "new" s2. since its "new" phone, it may mean that they plan to upgrade it to
further versions of android? If so, since its almost the same phone, that could man further versions of android for us also.
