Hello, i downloaded htc radar (omega) shipped rom, but it is in .NBH format and no RUU. how can i install this rom?
extract attached file.....copy the .nbh to the extracted folder run ROMUPDATEUTILITY.exe
Thank you!
Just for to be sure - should i have a SPL of 4.0+ to do this, according to this post
which phone do you use? that post was for herald users....
HTC Radar C110e
so that topic (for herald) doesnt bother me?
if you are already on a stock rom and flashing another stock rom just enter in bootloader and run the RomUpdateUtility
im on a custom rom and want stock rom. so first i will remove hspl, then i will run RomUpdateUtility with stock rom from bootloader?
You don't have to remove HSPL once you flash a stock rom over HSPL...its automatically gone
Good luck

File_Submit,
May I ask where you downloaded the HTC Radar 4G (Omega) .nbh from?
I have been trying for weeks to download the same .nbh uploaded to Filefactory by Football in the Radar forum (see this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1334463) but the download never finishes.
It may something to do with Filefactory access here in the US. Just guessing.
Is there another website where the Omega .nbh for US TMo is available?
Thanks.

So every HTC phone has a .nbh or .img that you can use in the bootloader to return your devices to stock (out of the box)
My question is where can we find the the .nbh or .img for the HTC Pyramid/Sensation4G?
Thanks in advance

Mate these are not RUU, they are just a reference, for example v3.32 is an RUU, Android Revolution HD, Elegancia etc are Custom ROMs based on v3.32 RUU, that's why they mentioned it in there respective titles. Majority People don't flash RUUs, instead they flash custom ROMs made by the devs, they modifies the RUU, and brings it for us with various fixes and Enhancments. I hope my brief post will help make it clear for you.

Just want to clarify...so to install a RUU...do I need to have CWM already installed or can it be on stock recovery? I am already S-off...and I've changed CWM to stock recovery....and superCID to the Tmobile one....if I want to flash the TMOUS RUU...is that all I need to do...just run the RUU?

If you want to flash RUU, Refer to This Guide, and follow the steps carefully, and i think you can go to Sensation Android Development and choose to flash the custom ROMs, in my opinion they are highly enhanced for performance, use Insert Coin or Virtuous Inquisition instead.

You seem to know ur stuff im hoping you can help me.
Brand new stock Telstra HTC One XL (Australia)
Unlocked & rooted, TWRP recovery.
Backed up stock.
Installed a few different ROMs before deciding on one.
Accidentally reset factory from hboot instead of twrp.
Lost stock ROM back up.
Mounted USB & copied custom ROMs back across to sdcard.
Files did not appear on sdcard.
Decided to partition and try again.
On sucessful partition, suddenly all files became visible, despite partition warning "all files will be deleted"
Flashed Viper XL successfully.
SDcard total storage reading as 24gb (32gb stock)
1. if i have done anything to reduce my available storage i want to get it back.
2. id like to go back to stock rom and basically start from scratch with clean stock backup and clean storage.
I found a link to the ATT One X stock rom on the US HTC support site.
I cant find anything similar on the AU site for the One XL.
I read i have to re-lock my bootloader, thats fine i found a tutorial, but i need to find the stock rom.
Also i have no understanding of RUU nor do i have it downloaded.
EDIT-
I have just downloaded RUU Evita UL Telstra WWE 1.89. 841.9 Radio 0.18c.32.09.01 10.9 3a.32.20L release 266699 signed .exe

This is sensation only forum.. But as the question is kinda generic I can help you
Now if you want to go back to stock then options are
1. Restore the stock backup (which you've lost now)
2. Flash a recovery flashable zip (just like a custom rom zip) of stock rom (which makes it almost stock)... You need to find it in the Sensation xl section of xda
3. Flash a ruu..Use this guide as reference http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26541170 (everything won't apply for you.. But almost 90% of it applies)
As for sdcard data loss.. Backup the current contents of sdcard and do a proper format of the sdcard using sdpartitioner(a good tool for formatting sdcard in windows)
Btw I don't understand why you need a partition of sdcard

It was suggested to me by a mate who has more experience with android than i do.
Thought it might be a good idea to put the back up / roms there.
Just found it odd that after mouting and transferring them, they didnt actually become visible until after the partition was created?
Thanks for the rest of the advice i'll give it a look.
I replied to you here knowing its a sensation forum only because when i searched this was the only relevant thread i found.
I found this tutorial and have followed it to step 5. the point of flashing the recovery.img but i get "error; cannot load recovery.img"
1. Download the correct RUU for your device and carrier!!
2. Charge the battery above 50% or for at least one hour. If the battery dies during the flashing process, you could hard brick the phone!
3. Run the RUU until the wizard comes up. While the RUU wizard is open, find the temporary folder it created. (Open Explorer in Windows and type %temp% in the navigation bar.) There will be two folders with long encrypted names. In one of them you will find ROM.zip. Open it with 7zip and extract recovery.img. Put it in the location were you've installed Android SDK tools. This is the stock HTC Recovery and it is needed to run the RUU.
4. Boot the phone into bootloader (power off, hold down volume and press power) and highlight FASTBOOT using the volume rocker and pressing power. Then connect the USB cable. You should see FASTBOOT USB.
5. Open a command prompt in Windows and navigate to the folder where you installed Android SDK tools. Flash the stock recovery extracted in step 3 above using the following command:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
6. Relock the bootloader using the following command:
fastboot oem lock
7. Re-run the RUU. It will restore the device to it's original condition, locked (though *** RELOCKED ***) and unrooted.
Once the install is done you'll have unlock the bootloader again using the token you already have from the first time, reflash CWM Recovery and re-root. All this will be 10x easier than the first time.
If you do re-root your phone, be 100% you backup the stock ROM in ClockworkMod Recovery before making changes!

Can anyone give me some instructions or link on how to upgrade to the latest USA T-mobile ICS Rom?
Thank you.
Same here. I've read so many threads, I'm confused as to which procedure to follow...
I have:
Android 2.3.4 with Sense 3.0 (Stock Tmobile ROM)
HBoot: 1.17.1111
ClockworkMod: 5.0.0.8
Could some post the steps to install the stock TMobile ICS onto the rooted phone?
First of all you have to get rid of CWM to get OTA to install.
In this case you have to back up everything and flush T-mo RUU. It will bring your phone to stock condition with HTC recovery. Then go to Settings and check for HTC updates.
S-OFF does not matter. ICS installs fine with S-OFF.
Here where you can find T-mo RUU: Thanks to original poster!
I saw 3 files on that link to RUU. Which one to use to flash?
What do I have to backup from the current phone?

Back up everything you use, contacts, apps, oh.... I especially backed up my CoPilot... Whatever you think you like, Angry Birds???? LOL Especially if you beat a lot of levels, then back up data.... won't need to start from scratch...LOL
Emails, SMS/MMS... oh well..what you care about. Use Titanium Backup.
Don't forget your Google account, so you won't need to create new one. As you flash RUU yer phone gonna be at point 0.. You'll have to go through initial sign in and so on....
Good luck!!!
Thanks to T-Macgnolia for the RUU!!!
That link goes to the Gingerbread RUU.
Is there a way to install a TMobile ICS update without using the OTA update?
Like update firmware and then the ROM or something???
I read several pages here, but I'm still uncertain what to do.

And yes.... Steve0007 posted rooted version of T-mo ICS update. You might try to flush that one.

No the RUU does not do anything to the SD card, it only deals with the NAND memory of the device.
For those of you out there that do not know what an RUU is please read the quoted post below
T-Macgnolia said:
RUU stands for ROM Update Utility. This is a utility that is run via a .exe file that is used to flash a stock ROM, stock radio, stock splash screen, stock recovery, and stock firmware of a device. The utility performs a cleaning of the NAND memory of the device before flashing the included stock software. So a RUU is often suggested as a way fix common problems and to unroot a device. The utility also runs a set of checks on a thea device before flashing such as CID (Carrier Identification), battery level check, and firmware version check.
A custom RUU is does the same as a RUU but it has been modified to not run the CID check and sometimes other security checks. You can flash custom ROMs, different radio versions, splash screens, and firmwares. You can even use a custom RUU to flash each of these individually.

there are lots of threads out there about this, but they are very complicated, i have my HTC Sensation S-Off rooted with a custom sensation XE ROM and i have TouchRecovery instead of CWM, what is the simplest way for me to restore back to a stock ROM, i had a Nand backup, but it got corrupted on my old SD-Card. Thanks in advance.
Use a RUU.exe file- tiny bit of Googling will find you them (basically I'm too tired)
Make sure you superCID first of all so you can use any of them.

If you want to be back to stock then download the RUU for your carrier. You will not have to be Super CID if it is the one for your carrier. As for it not seeing your device, do you have the USB drivers installed on your computer? If you have HTC Sync installed you should have the drivers. Also do you know for sure your USB cable is functional. If you can transfer data to and from your computer in Disk Drive mode then it is fictional.
i cannot find an o2 UK ruu, the cable is fully functional, i have the drivers, but i will reinstall htc sync because i dont think it was on this laptop. The phone was originally locked to 3 UK, then i flashed a pg58 file and got it removed.
after installing the drivers, i open up the exe, it says i have the wrong RUU, would this be because i have a custom XE ROM on a original sensation? and can someone link me to a working ruu please

It is telling you that because your device does not match either the Model ID check or either it does not match the CID check. You need to post your carrier and what region you are in as well as connect your device to your computer and use the "adb getvar" command to get all the info on your device and post it back here. This will help others to post a link to the correct stock RUU for your device.
Im on o2 UK, and the device was originally locked to 3 UK, usage of the adb getvar returns a paragraph of adb commands

If you are using a ICS ROM then you probably will not find the correct RUU for you device because there have not really been any of the ICS RUUs released or leaked. As long as you are S-off you can use the Gingerbread RUU for your device and then OTA to the ICS ROM after running the RUU.
my HTC is S-Off, may you provide me with a link to the gingerbread RUU please?
EDIT: Would the current ROM affect the RUU i am trying to install, since it is a sensation XE rom on a sensation
