Just happened this evening, found that my phone was switched off.. switched back on and the date is now set to 06 March 1980! I have tried setting the date and time manually and toggled to get automatically but no luck.. it remains the same.
The time seems to be incrementing correctly, not sure what's wrong!
I am running voluptuary's clean rom (TANGO build) on my samsung focus.
Any help would be appreciated before I decide to wipe the phone.
Not sure why you'd want to hard reset because of that...
the system date is set to 1980! and I can't set it correctly..any text messages i send is lost in thread, and exchange sync won't happen and many more

well, congrats Faria! real good stuff!
But, i bought my PDA so i can have my calendar/contacts with me all the time and up to date and im not getting that...
first let me describe the problem:
1 - Contacts sincronize but the birthdays are all mixed (birthday from "ana" goes to "antonio" and bday from "antonio" goes to "jose" and so on)
2 - Calendar just dont sincronize or takes forever (several entries on OUT 2003 some day appoint, and birthdays that repeat every year)
3 - Date keeps changing random (doesnt takes the PC date/hour or any other date/hour that is configured)
tried these sugested fixes (from other posts):
- Hard reset after aplying regional settings and sync after that. (didnt work with neither problems)
- Sync only contacts (didnt resolve anything)
- remove "today Agenda" before sync (same)
- Remove the "enable advanced network functionality" from "usb to pc" (still a disapointment)
i really need some help, and from the forums, some other people have the same problem.
from monday until today, i reseted the device about 6 times and didnt resolve the problems...
i will be waiting for the resolution...
btw: i had the wm6 underground with no prob like this one...
thanks in advance!
Hi, I had a problem with synching the calendar entries when first using this ROM, it was resolved by going into settings "Clocks & Alarms" then changing the time zone to anything other than what it is already set on and then changing back to the setting you want. Hope it works.

well, i did it and...it worked!
here it goes how i did it:
- in clocks, puted the "home and visiting" with the same date (i dont know if this matters)
- changed the "home" date to some other gmt and closed clock settings
- entered clock and changed back to the real gmt setting.
- sync as i wanted!
edde: thanks for the help!
Hi everyone,
I have my Touch Pro for a few months now. for some reason i have stopped receiving text messages while my phone is on standby.
Only after i wake it up, i receive the SMS notification.
I think it started happening only last week after i've put another sim card in my TP. but i changed the sim card back after half an hour.
this is very bothering and i have no idea what to do.
I was using the 1.02.25.28 radio rom. I tried upgrading the rom to see if it would work, but the 1.08.25.20M1 rom didn't help either.
I also tried to check if it's a problem with my sim card, so i put a different sim (a 2G one) and it still didn't work.
anyone have any ideas? i will only hard reset the device as a last resort
P.S
I am using ROMeOS v1.51
Thanks
i only had this issue only once, woke up one fine night when they phone was asleep ... then a message came tru and the time stamp was 4 hours earlier ...
ammon ROMeOS as well ..1.6x
I'm not sure what's going on with it...
I actually received an sms today on time when my phone was in standby.
I told my friend to try to text me again, but this time i didnt get the message untill i woke it up
any ideas before i hard reset??
download/install diamond config or advanced config, both give you the option of changing this setting
which setting is this? the option to disable the automatic sleep or to enable receipt of text messages during standby?
anyway, i can't find this in advanced config. under what option is this?
ive never seen an option like that in advanced config
seems like a hard reset solved the problem
Only had my HD7 for about a week now and already reset it twice because I'm having problems with Windows Live not syncing!?
Everything was fine for a couple of days and I'd receive my email instantly after choosing that option in the settings. Now it seems everytime I leave my phone or lock it the phone refuses to sync and I have to do it manually.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Only thing I can remember which messed up my Live Mail was I added Facebook and Messenger (on the site) which then messed up my contacts as they were all showing in my phone - even though I had the phone set to only merge with existing contacts - so I deleted them all and re added my contacts which are backed up to my computer via .csv file.
Don't fancy resetting my phone all over again!
I'm starting to think Zune might have my setting saved on the server or something, as last time I did tell it to forget my phone but when I synced my phone after the reset to Zune, all my old Apps appeared on the clean phone.
I'm puzzled and it's starting to P me off now
I'm such a ****!!!
Realised I hadn't ran the network connection setup after the first reset - didn't occur to me after that it didn't automatically set it up like it would out of the box, and I needed to do it myself.
Feel so ashamed and such a noob FFS!
Ah no problem mate, great that you already resolved it yourself
Good evening all. I hope everyone has a prosperous New Year. OK, the issue I am having is simply this. I normally shutdown my phone at night and put it on charge. In the morning I boot it up for the day and I have to turn off the "automatic date and time" switch, set my time zone for eastern time ( because that is the time my wife and I work from even though we live in central time zone) and the rest of the day all is good. However, at night I shutdown as usual and then in the morning the routine starts all over again. If for any reason I forget to change the switch to off and set the time zone, I would be an hour late for any calendar appointment I have for the day. Any ideas or thoughts appreciated. Did a factory reset, wiping everything, just received a new firmware update but still no change in the issue. Samsung wants me to send the phone in because it is under warranty. To me that is a major obstacle to do without my phone in the meantime. Thoughts? Please........

I leave my phone automatic because it is where I am - and work with people in many time zones all over the world with no issue. Calendar invitations for meetings automatically take into account differences in time zones for everyone I invite automatically. If that is not an issue for you, then: set your phone to correctly reflect where you are - and then (you will only need to do this once for pre-existing entries) adjust those entries in your calendar accordingly. So, what's the problem?
Did you think that if you send a calendar invite to someone in a different time zone than you, for, say 11am your time - that it would show as 11am for everyone no matter where they are located in any time zone? It doesn't work that way! Or are all the people in your meetings only in your contact list (rather than a global address book) and all their addresses are incorrectly showing as being in your same time zone?
Not sure I understand!

Basically what I am stating is if I set "Automatic date and time" switch to off no matter what the reasoning is, it should stay off. Samsung is giving me that option yet Samsung turns around and essentially says I know better as to what you need. I am just wondering if any other N970U note 10 users phones behave the same way. That is if you turn the switch to off, does it stay off after a reboot?
Tried unbranded firmware XAA N970U1 and the "automatic date and time" issue was not there. It worked as expected when switched off. It is deffinately in the ported firmware for T-Mobile. I will address the issue with them...
So I have had this problem before a year or two ago, I tried everything and had to reset my phone to factory settings to get it fixed. The problem is now back and I'd like to avoid having to reset the phone as its just a huge pain in the ass to set it all back up. I get notifications late from whatsapp and it keeps losing connection to webwhatsapp (wifi or via 4g). Only way to reconnect is to unlock my phone. I have checekd all the settings, reinstalled whatsapp and the problem occurs out of nowhere as I didn't change any settings in my phone, didn't update my phone.
I'm hoping a wizard here has any suggestions as a last resort.
Kind regards, a desperate stranger.
edit: running android 8.0
edit2: reset the phone and the issue is still there.
