Also unlocking the phone isn't required for straight talk as far as I know...but already done...once you get the apns set up it should work...

Thanks, I will report back after some testing. I wanted to compare it to the default APN the ROM loads.

I also have the following for APN Type, other than that it is the same as above:
default,admin,fota
I was on chat with ATT and it seems to have 4G you should have "broadband" (no quotes) as the apn
I tried, but it's not working for me.
"wap.cingular" is working but the help desk told me is't only for 3G
wait and see
Interested in knowing the outcome of this...
So far not much difference. March may be the deciding factor when they turn the backhaul on and enable HSPA+ on the network. Being in DFW may have its advantages for this.
broadband as the APN does not work so well right now. No data connection at all. I haven't seen a difference between "Phone" and wap.cingular.

Your rep is wrong. I upgraded to the inspire on launch day and was able to keep my unlimited.
On the AT&T thing, if u upgrade in person, then they do change ur plan but if u would of done it online then u would of kept it...

I just went to the AT&T store and was able to change my plan to unlimited one.
Hi,
I bought a new Skyrocket and Internet is working fine with the new connection I got with the phone.
But I am trying to use another pre-paid AT&t SIM card with the phone, everything seems to be working fine except internet.
I can't get internet working. If I put the postpaid SIM back it works.
I already tried the wap.cingular setting, but no luck.
Thanks.
Its an lte phone even on at&t you have to call them and tell them u have this phone or u will have no data. I had the sgs2 bought the skyrocket put in my sim... no data i could make calls a but no data. I called them they had to change stuff on the account because of it being an lte phone. A quick 5 minute call to them and i was good to go.

A call is really not necessary. The fastest thing to do is to add an APN setting as the setting already there is for 4G LTE only. Add the wap.cingular setting and apply it, then your all set.

It does try to connect with 4G but I still can't access internet. Has anyone tried Skyrocket with AT & T prepaid SIM yet?
The reason I am trying to use prepaid on Skyrocket, because I am on unlimited plan on prepaid no.
I did some more search and found below information:

APN: wap.cingular

It did connected my phone to 4G network but then when trying to access internet. I got following message.
To use data services, you must have a data package or sufficient funds. Call 911 or go to att.com/mygophone now to replenish or purchase.

Try using that without entering mms proxy and protocol. Mine are blank but then again i have a monthly plan. At the bottom also choose internet + mms. Hope it helped

Did a little digging around on the internet and here is what I found for all AT&T Galaxy SII Plus Skyrocket devices! EVEN STOCK ROMs!!! Yay!
This will enable HSPA+ Speeds NOT LTE!
http://www.traemcneely.com/2011/08/...se-4g-att-phones-samsungs-access-point-names/
APN Settings are as follows

That's all there is to it. Like I said, this will work with ANY ROM, just as well as stock ROM.
Take this and give AT&T the middle finger for limiting our unlimited plan!

What if someone is already in an area that only supports HSPA+ ? Is there any work-around?

Neither APNs work for me in LA (an LTE market).
Supposedly the problem is in the radio. AT&T's is locked and won't let you switch.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20159562
Even changing radios none of the methods work.

Steps say :
13) Press Reset to default, wait, be patient and let the time and date update.
This resets the newly added APN and all I am left with is the stock pta APN.
BTW this is on Skyrocket.

AT&T versus T-Mobile corresponds to which SIM you picked when you purchased the service. If you selected the AT&T SIM, then use the AT&T APN, etc.

Sure that's great, but my question is which of the TWO AT&T APN posted in this thread are correct, OP or post #3?
I am getting throttled so bad
I just tried GA Buzz APN setting for ATT. It didn't work. I am sick of my data being so slow with the current one i have. HTC One X

If you ask a question, it helps to speak in specifics. The guy who responded after you has the same problem, can't tell what APN he is talking about.
I personally would try the APN that came from the source (Straight Talk) first. But really, in the time you asked the question and waited for responses, you could have easily tried both (and then some) and see if they worked.
Sorry for being vague. I'm at work and trying to type fast. My problem is I get throttled often. My download speed is seriously 200k/ sec. I'm trying to find a better APN that maybe will help my situation. I have had this SIM card from ST for atleast a year. It is in my HTC One X. I cut the card down to fit. And don't get me wrong, sometimes i have decent speed. But it's never true 4g speed

Hey good looking out bro. These worked like a charm on my new SIM fro ST. Thanks again :good:
There's probably already a thread on this but I was having trouble finding it. But i'm usinh my Skyrocket on straight talk, my data works and I can send pictures, but for some reason I can't recieve pictures. My girlfriend used the phone before I did for straight talk and her APN settings worked fine no problems. When I reset the phone to use I had to put the updated APN in the get data to work. I'm not sure why I can't recieve pictures but can send them.
