Hi
I have read a heap about roms unlocking boot loaders etc.
I have installed Clockwork Recovery and flashed Mini CM7 Pro.
I really want to flash 7-2.2.0 and nAa Kernel but one thread says i need to be on the SE 2.1 rom to do this and another doesn't mention it. For some reason my PC wont allow me to access the recovery mode via PC Companion to install the stock Rom.
So can i just follow the instructions from my current setup using Clockwork Recovery?
Thanks
Help Please
Have i done something wrong or is this just a really tough question?

I have a Sony Ericcson X10 Mini Pro, which had installed a version of CM7 that got at the forums. I learned about rooting and installing custom zips here, so it wasnt my first time.
1) So I decided to try this ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1415026
In the requirements it says I need to unlock the bootloader, have the latest baseband and latest kernel.
2) Followed this tutorial for unlocking the bootloader successfully, no problems:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254225
3) Followed this tutorial to install the latest kernel and baseband successfully, no problems
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1415012
Still with me? So far I got all the requirements so install the ROM just fine.
4) Followed the guide to install the rom, everything is fine. After the zip was flashed, and flashed gapps too, I restarted my phone and it froze at Sony Ericcsson startup screen.
Tried several things: wiping data, cache, etc. Had done this before, did the usual steps.
BUT I THINK I MADE A FATAL MISTAKE. WHEN THE CWM ASKED ME TO VALIDATE THE CWM, I PUT NO AND LEFT THE CWM SCREEN WITHOUT VALDIDATING THE CWM.
I know that was very stupid.
So my question is:
QUESTION
-How can I boot phone or reinstall CWM to reinstall the ROM again?
-Did I brick my phone? Do I have any solutions for this?
Thanks in advance, and sorry for the long post, I tried to include as much as info as possible.
Auto-Answer:
Sony Ericsson PC Companion can flash over bricked phones and restore to the original system.
find this file "recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.4-ancora.tar.md5" and use odin multi downloader v4.43 theyre to flash this file i assume you know how to use odin, if your phone can still access download mode your phone is not brick.
HI , i am using galaxy mini ICS CM9 Beta3, can i use odin instant install back my gingerbread 2.3.6 ? .....my beta3 rom is not working the USB storage, but i test boot my phone to downloading mode and open ODIN,it is connect to my phone. i am confused, someone can help me
if you want to go back to your previous rom, you should have backed it up using clockworkmod.
if you didn't, I suggest you install it (if you have root, you can install the rom manager application to do that for you)
Regarding Odin, you can use it to restore to your previous version, if you have the rom on your computer. As usual, you will loose all your user data.
In Galaxy Mini, to use that program is to have a hard brick, so don't install that. Rom manager is not compatible with our device.
I think if you make a nandroid and flash the rom through CWM after the wipes, you won't have any problem, but it will be better if someone gives more opinions, just in case.

boot loop on galaI've been trying to load custom ROxy mini (not lack of /data format)
I actually have ROM Manager on my Mini, though I haven't flashed CWM through it, granted (and I won't after your advice, thanks).
I installed my clockworkmod on my phone , how to back my previous ROM ? How should i do??
To be clear, you CANNOT go back to your existing rom through clockworkmod if you didn't back it up first.
Since you didn't, your only chance now is to flash the original firmware. If you don't have the firmware file on your computer, you're going to have to obtain it somehow. I recommend your mobile operator, and google if that fails.

Hey guys I'm an Android noob and a little confused. I've successfully unlocked, rooted, and flashed my Samsung Galaxy Ace by following step E here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12874680#post12874680. At this point, it seems I'm ready to flash custom ROMs?? My question is, do I need to get Clockworkmod on my Ace if I want to flash ROMs or am I good to go as is and put files on my sd card, then boot into recovery mode, and flash from there?
If I do need CWM, how do I get it? I'm aware that I shouldn't use ROM Manager to get it as it will brick my Samsung Galaxy Ace.
Thanks, and sorry if this question has been asked by others already, appreciate it.
If you completed step E of that guide, you should already have CWM on your device. It replaces your old recovery, and without it, you wouldn't be able to flash a new ROM anyway. CWM also gives you the ability to back up device, in case you screw up you can quickly restore to a previous good image.
