What phone do you have? Which specific ROM did you flash? What instructions did you follow? Lots of people are using ICS ROMs with not trouble, so you should be able to get it to work, but need more info.
Here is droidstyle's guide that may be of some help... it's written for the Fascinate, but it applies to other versions of the i500 as well. You just have to make sure you have the correct files for your device.

[q] radio help!!! :(

hey everyone,
i just updates my desire s with a new rom (not mentioning the name) and my phone is acting kinda crazy... as in the calls are not getting connected properly and half the time people complain they arent able to contact me either... the problem is im not much familiar about this stuff... bt, have a feeling it might be the problem with the radio. i tried restoring to older backups. no difference and realised that the radio doesnt get backed up.
i need help... does anyone know what to do about this...???
thank you in advance...

Relax.
And stop with the sad smileys...
The radio is not affected by a ROM flash, it is on a separate partition and you don't have to fiddle around with it if the problem has presented itself only after flashing a new ROM and was working alright previously.
Also, there is no disgrace in mentioning the ROM name, so please do tell us the following details:
Are you Revolutionary S-off or did you unlock using HTC Dev site?
What ROM are you currently using? Is this the first ROM you have flashed, coming from the stock one, or have you tried out other custom ROMs before this?
Let us know the answers to the above questions and we'll try our best to help.
Yeah, please tell us the name of the ROM, we'll be able to give you better help. Some AOSP ROMs (Oxygen, BlackICE) have calling issues. Also, as enimaamit said, a ROM does not change the Radio, it needs to be flashed separately (something i don't recommend you do). The problem is probably in the ROM

Yup. And thanks for that additional bit of info about Oxygen and BlackIce.
And another possibility is that this could be his first custom ROM (based on an official Sense ROM), and he might be coming from a stock ROM which he just unlocked using HTC Dev, so the kernel could still be stock... (if he didn't flash boot.img separately), and this might be allowing him to boot, but causing other issues like the one he just described.... I have an uncanny feeling that might be it!
I don't know, just letting loose the Sherlock inside
well, this wasnt my first custom rom... i have flashed from stock rom->cm nightly builds->oxygen->icecream sandwich 4.0 alpha builds to the current wp 7.0.4 rom by mmmcfc... i used to use his previous version-wp7.0.2 which was awesome and gave me no problems but, ever since i updated it, i have been having this problem. i tried flashing back to other roms as well and still kinda the same issue. and im on revolutionary s-off...
hope these answers are helpful... thanks for the reply guys...
EDIT: also, i used to have similar issues when i was in the stock rom at the very beginning which got solved later when i recieved an official update...i.e. before i s-off'd my phone...

He He He... guess i'm not much of a sleuth then!!
Are you sure the call drop issue is not a network provider problem {since it is happening on other ROMs as well, and it wasn't there before (your radio has been the same all along BTW)}
Have you tried putting your SIM in a basic phone and trying out whether the problem persists....this could indicate a network problem. I remember a few months ago Airtel service had gone to the dogs and everyone on Airtel (especially in Delhi) was writhing in agony...
Secondly, try using another carrier's SIM card in your DS and see if the problem still persists...
sry...i think u got me wrong der... i used to face the same problem on stock rom while i purchased the phone but, after updating it,it was pretty much and i never faced any problems until now. and i dont think its the carriers problem as im able to use the same sim card on a basic phone without any issues... and other users on the same carrier around me aint facing any problems with the network either... so, i guess im pretty much stuck and back to square one... :S

[Q] I'M a NOOB I need Serious Help PLEASE!!!

I bought a HTC Amaze from some guy and it works great except for my data connection being slow. It is rooted with what I believe to be an energy Rom for the Amaze. I think the rom is making the phones data slow but I could be wrong. the phone doesnt do any other weird things that im aware of. I need a step by step tutorial on how to unroot the phone so that I may be able to see if that is the issue. Can someone please help me?
Just flash a stock ROM. You can find one in the Amaze section of the forum. If you don't know how to flash there are also step by step instructions.

thank you for the response but I clicked on your link and tried to find information on just where and how to get and flash the stock rom but unfortunately Everything I read looks like another language.. Is there any way to guide me through the locating of the stock rom and installing? I would forever appreciate it. Plus do you know of phones having data issues after flashing certain roms?

Galaxy S2 HD LTE i757m Bell 4.0.4 ICS Root/ Downgrade

Hey Guys,
I currently have this phone and have installed the 4.0.4 ICS update from Bell. However, I just realized that I am not able to install CWM on this 4.0.4 which is very disappointing. I tried to follow the rooting procedure but I kept encountering stock boot which does now allow me to install ZIP for root/super user. One of my buddy told me that I have to downgrade. Can anybody confirm that. It seems like all the rooting procedures are only for gingerbread 2.3.4-2.3.6. If anybody can help me, much appreciated. Thx in advance
It will not work (someone correct me if im wrong) because you have the HD LTE version and this forum is for just the LTE version.

But the skyrocket is basically the HD LTE without the HD screen, these two devices are crosslisted and always mentioned in the same discussions.
Not sure if the same applies to SR HD but I would lean towrd it's similar ...
Use ODIN to flash CWM recovery (use .tar format NOT .img = search the development section "sk8.... recovery")..Check only auto reboot in ODIN and click PDA tab and point the browser toward the .tar recovery then click start ... It will reboot automatically ...
Reboot again into recovery and install the zip for rooting , reboot , open SU and update as it asks you , you're done
See Vincom's thread about all that....It's sticky in SR forums development ..
Hit Thanks if I helped you , an idiot was bragging on me on how many thanks he has compaired to his posts count forgetting that , unfortunately ,too many douches are here on the forums like himself(he has a sig like McDonald's billboard on the interstate saying "Hit thanks button" ...

you just need to downgrade back to the stock GB rom and then load the cwm and it will work perfectly, thats what happen to me this morning.
Maybe I need to refrain responding here for SGH-i757m, but please refer the the following thread.

[Q] No 3g/4g on JellyBean (Stingray)

I 've been running my Stingray Xoom on Bugless Beast for over a year and wanted to jump to JellyBean. I've tried the EOS and Cyanogen 10.1 but neither one will connect to Verizon. I tried the tricks listed in the EOS dev thread but still can't make it work. I'm pretty sure the fine folks at Verizon will be of absolutely NO help, does anyone out there have some helpful hints?
Thanks!!
You might have to flash the jb radio to get 4g/3g.
check this out http://www.xoomforums.com/forum/ics-development/17500-anyone-have-latest-cdma-lte-radios.html
Thanks for the suggestion!
I installed the radio at mirror1.teameos.org (can't post links yet) but it's still not working. I'll look around and see if there's a different/better one to try.

Ok, I'm dumb.
The radios have to be flashed with the Rogue recovery - not the newest TWRP. The Rogue Recovery thread is at
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1235170 (Still not allowed links)
I'll see if I can change the thread title to show as "SOLVED" with credit going to dfib1.
Thanks again dfib1!!
I am running into a similar issue with my xoom. I am coming from BlackICE kangorade 40.5 (ICS) and wanted to go to a Jellybean ROM. Initially I wasn't able to get a signal at all with any of the roms I tried (EOS 4, ORCA, Cyanogenmod 10). After I flashed imm76l-radios-update, I can get a signal but It won't actually connect and get data service. I have also checked RUIM/SIM on EOS4. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

[Q] Bricked GS3 - Avoid Reccurence

Hello all!
This is my first post here and I thank all for comments in advance - they are very appreciated!
So I was very new to the aspect of rooting when I first got my Sprint GS3, but I read posts here and watched many tutorials on youtube and successfully rooted my device using Odin, then using Goomanager flashed CM 10.1 without a hitch. I had a custom kernel as well ( do not remember the name ), so when I updated my ROM I went hunting for new kernels as well. On an XDA (forgot the name/link) thread I found kernels compatible for CM 10.1, but when I flashed it my phone got bricked. No drivers found, won't boot into recovery or download, taking out and replacing battery wont work - not even an LED light. I said that I lost it and received a new one, but I was wondering why it got bricked (I have a bad gut feeling I did something as dumb as getting an international version kernel as I heard they would not be compatible?) And if there are links for a kernel for a stock firmware rooted GS3 - I have not seen one and I am nervous on finding more seeing as how I already bricked one phone. Thanks for the help!!! I just want to be more educated on this so I do not have to spend another 150$ in replacements. Thanks!

Just stick with the kernel provided in the rom you are using. The developer picked or made that kernel for a reason.

The reason that I wanted another kernel is since Cyanogemods stock one does not let me OC/UV and those are options that I would like to have

Only flash kernels that are in your device threads. Next time leave out what you did to get it replaced as that is fraud and not looked at well here.

Ok that is just dumb. Make sure you understand what your doing before you do. Remember the min you flashed a custom rom. You no longer have any warranty.

I'm taking my time now and i read as much as i can to see the issues others are having. been new here is like a kid with a box of new toys "want to play with all of them at the same time". thats another reason i registered, to thank all the great developers that take time to make such a great roms for us to enjoy :good:
I had a hard brick a few months ago I sent it it in for a jtag repair and it works perfectly it is a lot cheaper than getting a replacement phone
