[Q] Anyone used any CPU master/scaler on Atrix 2 - Motorola Atrix 2

Has any one used a CPU master/scaler (like the An Tu Tu CPU Master) on the Atrix 2 - both in overclocked and stock mode?
Any feedback?
Thanks,
Sayantan

I use setcpu and its great.

+1 for setCPU.
I also use it, and yes, I also agree that it is great!

Let me try it right away! Thanks.

SetCPU seems to be a favorite because, well, it works. Running Lithium v1.2.1 overclocked at 1250MHz stable. Though when I don't want that high of a clock speed I use other profiles set up with the app to save my battery.

I've used both SetCPU and CPUMaster, both worked as advertised.

That's awesome what vsel value did you use at 1250?
What vsel did you use for 1250 MHZ? Mine got hanged at 1200 MHZ with 1400000uV.

Voltage Control - OTB 1.5 Kernel

Anyone care to share their voltage settings to get insane battery life?
I'm using dgas's Heinz 57 6/6/11 rom. Great rom!
Great question. If someone could explain how each setting affects the phone, that would help as well.
You can find a lot of information settings here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011626
My normal setup is
1300/1200/1000 - 50mv
800/600 - 75mv
400/200 - 100mv
Currently testing for stability (failed miserably)
1300/1200 - 50mv
1000 - 75mv
800/600 - 100mv
400/200 - 125mv
Edit: test failed. Sod and phone freezing. Sticking with what I know works but thought I'd leave the test settings for info purposes.
I run stock clock numbers, 1000 @ -50, 800 and 600 @ -75, 400 200 100 @ -100 and get great battery life and the heinz rom doesn't get laggy like some others so I haven't found a need to oc

Underclocking is also a good way to save battery.
I'm using the same voltage settings as akellar's normal setup and have found it to work well, but I've also enabled 100Mhz @ -100 and haven't had any problems.

I usually use deadline but I have no idea why. I have tried BFQ and CFQ and had issues when I was using them. No idea if it was because of them or something entirely different though. Deadline has always worked for me so I just stick with it. Don't fix what's not broke, right?
Thx

Overclocking the G2X to 1.5Ghz

If I have CM7 #54, do I need a special kernel or not?
SetCPU is not detecting the frequencies for me
I am using CPUMaster but I have the free version only
What is the best software to overclock automatically?
I also want profiles (Battery temp, battery %, screen off...)
In Quadrant I got 3000 points with 1.5Ghz
Now I only need to find a way to overclock it and have all the profiles and boot overclock work right out of the box
Thanks a lot
Sooooo you over clocked to it to 1.5, but yet you still need to find a way to do it?? Read..... all the answers are in this very section....
Oh by the way wrong section to post.

ok first set cpu will not be able to oc for you. use pimp my cpu you should be able to find it if you do a search. second if you want to oc use faux's kernel for that.

I used SetCPU before on my OptimusT, and it was actually working pretty good, BUT NOT ON LGE STAR. For now, the best overlocking app for LGE STAR is PimpMyCPU WITH CUSTOMIZED KERNEL.
With FR and Faux's kernel, you can easily get 4000+ on Quadrant.
With GB and its own kernel, I think we just get like 3000+

Oh 1 more thing, T-mobile doesn't release the GB update for LGE Star yet. The CM project is built based on the GB source code only...

I thoroughly tested OC on CM with different kernels. I got the best results with the Trinity kernel. My highest recorded Quadrant score was 4920 and I averaged 4690 over 10 trials with that configuration.

[Q] Overclocking

Ok so i was wondering if overclocking this phone is a good idea? i am probably gonna use about 8-900 mhz anywayz. I know its not the most expensive device out there but still its pretty expensive for me xD. So i was wondering if the overclocking it would effect the phone in some way.
thx

I don't feel it really speeds up the phone too much and if you compared a phone with 900 MHz processor as standard with our phone overclocked to 900 MHz processor, the standard 900 MHz processor would be a lot faster. I hope this makes sense. I didn't explain it very well.
For example, compare a HTC desire to our phone overclocked to 1 GHz. The HTC would still be a million times faster.
Anyway, a non-overclocked phone is still quite smooth and i have no problems with it. If you want to overclock, you will get a nice little boost but not a really big boost.

You should set your main profile to max of 800 as its the safest for your cpu although i overclock to 1366/1400 when im gaming . Its faster than not overclocking(for daily usage for me not sure abt other people)

[Q] Phone temperature 39 C

I managed to install MINICM7 Pro v21. However, my phone get hotter since then. It's 39 C. Normally it is 28-30. What's wrong?
Are you overclocking?
How's the battery life? If battery is really short means something is running on high CPU demand and draining the battery really fast. You can check in the settings => battery
If battery life is OK, I guess you should flash another ROM ASAP.
Sounds like overclocking and running A high demanding app that's causing it to get that hot

[Q] Underclocking

Hi Guys,
I've been using custom kernel/ROM for sometimes now, and I hear a lot about overclocking.
And I know that overclocking is "not so good" for the phone. Was wondering whether the same applies for under-clocking also.
Oh, and 1 more question is about decreasing just the "Minimum CPU frequency" to something like 245MHz. Will that be bad for the phone?

Our phone support overclocking to 729 max and min 320 if you underclock it your phone will be laggy and not responding . Those frequencies are the best for it and will not harm your phone.

ya i know underclocking will definitely reduce performance. What if I keep the Max freq as 600MHz and reduce the Min freq to 245MHz. I just want to know whether it will harm my phone or not.

I'm using oc since the first week I owned my phone and it's running fine. So, min freq:480(it use the same freq as lower clocks and reduces wakelocks) and max:600 or more

Actually the point of underclocking is to use a different frequency, 245 will use a lower frequency than 480. Also, frequency has absolutely nothing to do with wakelocks, 122 will have the same number of wakelocks as 806. You should set the minimum to whatever works for you, some people like 245, some people like 320, some people like 480. Underclocking can't damage the phone, so use whatever works for you.

Are you sure...?Take a look on what fserve posted in his kernel thread:" NOT underclock below 480MHz. At lower speeds, wakeups-from-idle per second are bigger than 480MHz and they share the same voltage, so thats leads to more battery drain.
