kay, so far, I just found out the reboot to recovery still broken and you have to go to recovery by 3 buttons method and the camcorder issue erikmm has mentioned...other than that, there's nothing to complain about since it's like a sweet moonbeam now lol...I hate love you, Erikmm lol

Retire so soon eh ...maybe, some months after you retire then we'll have "Erikmm come back silently and more dangerous with Jellybean debut" lol ...you're rock anw man

Here's a question: does JoyOS's launcher support landscape? I ask it because MIUI's doesn't. I know I can install other launchers, that's not the point.
Also, if it does support landscape, does it have screen rotation animations, like CM7 has? Not that it's critical, but looks great.
What about themes by the way? Are there any? Or is it just iPhone-style and that's it?
Thank you in advance.

Blue recovery screen
flashed rom and now I'm stuck at rebooting to blue recovery screen. Tried to get to download mode to try the gremlin remover but goes back to blue. I flashed another rom but it still boots to blue. Any help? Thanks in advance.
---------- Post added at 08:18 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:08 AM ----------
Finally got it into download mode, will try to redownload the rom and try again
---------- Post added at 08:44 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:18 AM ----------
Same result blue screen and wont reboot. Not sure what is wrong

Brick0044....the only way I found to recover from that was the [odin+cwm] gb ext4 starter pack in the dev section by FBis251
That's if you decide you don't want to stick with that rom ....otherwise just reflash a few times and you will get it

@g4ry12: the launcher itself does not support landscape mode but in other apps or windows do and yeah, since Erikmm said it based on CM7.2 (completely then it has all CM7 features like themechooser, animations...there's a section for CM7 settings in Joyos settings) and by mention themes, it has themechooser, exactly from CM7 but the theme just affect the status bar, buttons,...blah blah, but not the icons and you can't change the icons except you know how to modify the launcher app...that's all
@BRICK0044: Just read the OP, the OP for CM7 (or the same as Miui-revenge) said that you can flash easily through these steps:
erikmm said:
1 .Download the following:
efs-backup link : efs-backup
efs-restore link : efs-restore
JoyOS rom*check md5 posted below download link*
2. Place those three files in root of your sd card
3. Backup data with Titanium Backup or whatever app you use (optional)
4. Reboot to recovery
5. Do a Nandroid Backup
6. Flash EFS-Backup
7. Backup sd card to your computer ( you can do this by going to mounts and storage
and mount USB storage, this way you wont leave recovery and the efs backup is in there too)
8. Flash JoyOS port (it will start then reboot itself into blue cwm)
9. Go to Mounts and Storage
10. Format System
11. Mount System
12. Go back to main menu
13. Wipe data/factory reset
14. Go into Install zip from sdcard
15. Choose zip from sdcard
16. Flash efs-restore
17. Flash JoyOS port
18. Reboot.
19. Let it sit for 10 mins or so.
20. Enjoy.

Remember to flash the efs-backup bfore you so anything else and first things after you wipe things, format system, mount system in the BLUE recovery is flash the efs-restore and follow those steps.
Anyway, those are things you should do after you solve your problem...And as you describe, seems like you were still on <3e> recorvery, you must do GR (got into download mode to do GR), if after GR, it's still blue and error, I think you can choose boot into system by press the power button once on that highlight option in the blue recovery and then, everything should be ok (as I experienced this before) and after you got into the stock rom, you can go to play store, download SGS kernel flasher and flash one of these Basic with a Twist SGS4G KJ6 Kernel and then follow those instruction below to flash JoyOS...
If that's not your case, I recommend you to do One-click Heimdall and after you got to the rom, flash a new kernel via CWM or SGS kernel flasher in playstore...
And even if you were not on <3e> recovery but BLUE 5.5...recovery, then you just need to follow Erikmm guidance to flash this
And Finnally, IT IS NOT RECOMMEND TO ODIN (do GR) OR HEIMDALL VIA FRONT USB PORTS ON YOUR PC, YOU SHOULD DO THAT WITH BACK PORTS (ON YOUR PC CASE)

Wow take the loooooooooong way lol
This is just another miui style rom...flashing away from this doesn't have to be long and tedious

Erik, I figured out why some of your users are getting an error 7 when they flash. They don't have an efs backup in their sdcards so when they try to flash the rom, updater.sh will exit with status 7. Read the logic here:
https://github.com/teamacid/android_device_samsung_galaxys4gmtd/blob/gingerbread/updater.sh#L144
If they had been flashing from a BML rom then the efs would've gotten properly backed up.
Also reflashing the rom right away will work because the script will only run all the way once if it finds cyanogenmod.cfg on the sdcard:
https://github.com/teamacid/android_device_samsung_galaxys4gmtd/blob/gingerbread/updater.sh#L118
It's not necessarily a good thing that people can reflash even though the efs backup didn't get restored.

There's one surefire way to find out....flash it.
LOL don't get your panties in a bind adobrakic just feel free to pm me any time

That is seriously the most retarded way to find out. You gonna flash every ROM just to see if it has a certain feature? If you don't know, don't answer.

Good to know, thank you, I did not realize that based on CM7 meant all CM7 features, I thought it was just kernel, MTD, basic things like that. And thanks for the heads-up about no themed icons and no landscape mode for the launcher.

Actually he's wrong based on mtd is exactly what you said. The features are in the OS which are pretty much in the frameworks and apps.

Epic Unleashed 1.1! First DROID2 rom!
For all the bugs people reported, I thank you. This release should fix a bunch of those bugs!
UPDATE:If you are having problems follow the new instructions on how to install bellow.
Changelog:
MAJOR Bug fixes.
Screen turns off.
Keyboard works.
Wifi may work(untested)
Accelerometer works.
Missing anything...?
Thanks:
Thank you Brendan for testing this release for me while my phone takes a little "nap" lol.
Features:
Deodexed
Bloatware removed
Scripts
Build.prop mods
Not sure if everyone know's this, but all my releases come with a widget that looks just like the HTC Clock called Fancy Widgets.
Please report bugs to me as you find them. Best way to contact me is email me at [email protected] or my GTalk Matt4542.
How to install:Important!
You will need to download Koush's bootstrap application and bootstrap your recovery. Then you can boot into recovery via the same app or you can install via ROM Manager(by rebooting into recovery, not via install rom from sdcard). Once you boot into recovery do a FULL nandroid backup and then you go to mounts and storage and mount /system manually to avoid more issues. Install zip from sdcard and toggle signature verification to disable. Now you can install the zip from the sdcard. Once this is done, reboot.
Now after reading all that here is your download!

NOTE: Updated September 7th, 2010. Added additional steps to the process. Reread to reapply the Epic Unleashed 1.1!
Please READ each direction CAREFULLY and BEFORE executing each step. I can not stress how many mistakes are made because someone did not READ the directions carefully. So... yeah, once again, READ THE DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY!
How to Apply EpicUnleashed 1.1
Credits: The ROM was created by Matt4542. Tutorial was written by me with some simple directions from Matt. You'll need to be rooted in order to run the Droid 2 Bootstrapper.
The fine print: Matt4542 and/or I (DarkOnion) can not be held responsible if you mess up. If you mess up, you mess up. That's why I wrote the .sbf recovery tutorial. Matt has also written one. More simple, but requires Linux.
Here we go.
1. Download Koush Bootstrap here.
http://koush.tandtgaming.com//motorola/droid2/Droid2Bootstrap.apk
2. Download Epic Unleashed 1.1!
http://www.epic.grrmode.com/Epic-Unleashed11Deodexed.zip
3. Move both files to the base of the SD Card. Best way to do this is to plug your phone into your computer and move it like that. Make sure you phone is in USB mass storage mode. To change it, pull down the notification blind, choose USB connection, and choose USB Mass storage. Now copy and paste the two files to the new removable drive that showed up in your My Computer. The Epic-Unleashed11Deodexed.zip needs to be at the base of the SD card, and not in any folders. After moving all the files over to the phone, change the connection type back to Charge Only. Notfication blind -> USB Connection -> Charge only.
4. Install Koush Droid 2 Bootstrapper. Using an app installer, Astro File Manager, or equivalent, navigate to your SD card. The folder in Astro File Manager will be called sdcard. Choose Droid2Bootstrap.apk and install it. Follow the directions.
5. Now that it is installed, open Droid 2 Bootstrapper located in your applications section menu. It'll probably ask you for Super User access, say yes.
6. Press Bootstrap Recovery. It'll probably ask you for Super User access, say yes.
7. Next, we want to back your system file up by making a system image. In the Droid2 Bootstrapper, which you are already in, choose Reboot Recovery. Your phone should restart and load up into the bootloader. You should see some green text with various options, and a little lower than the middle of the screen, it says ClockworkMod Recovery.
Notes for navigating through the system. You need to use the keyboard to navigate. "Enter" will select. "Del" will cancel/go back. and the arrows are movement.
8. Using your slide out keyboard, scroll down to backup and restore and press the enter key. It should take you to another window. Choose Backup. Let it runs it's course. After it is all said and done. Reboot your phone by choosing reboot system now. (I don't think the rebooting is necessary, but I am just going to do it be safe.)
9. After you are done rebooting, if you did this, go back to the Droid 2 Bootstrapper, and choose Reboot Recovery. It'll reboot, and you'll eventually be back at the screen with the green text.
10. Using your keyboard buttons, choose mount and storage. And then choose mount /system. After that, press del to go back to the main menu.
11. Using your keyboard buttons, choose install zip from sdcard.
12. You need to make sure signature verification is off. Choose toggle signature verification and make sure it is off. At the bottom, under ClockworkMod Recovery, it'll say whether or not signature verification is enabled or disabled. You want it to say that it is disabled.
13. Then choose install zip from sdcard. Choose Epic-Unleashed11Deodexed.zip. It'll ask to confirm. Scroll down to Yes, and press enter. You'll see some commands going and eventually say it is complete.
14. Now navigate back to the main menu by pressing "Del" on the keyboard. And restart your phone by choosing reboot system now. It'll reboot and that's it! You've added EpicUnleashed 1.1.
Note: Your first boot will take a little while, up to 10 minutes. PLEASE BE PATIENT. You know that you corrected updated if your start-up animation is different.
If you need to undo this thing, boot back up into bootloader using Droid 2 Bootstrapper -> Reboot Recovery -> Back Up and Restore (after the reboot) -> Restore.

Actually all of the bugs have been ironed out. It is a problem with the recovery. It may affect you, may not. I would put the stock Froyo launcher but I am not going to risk screwing with blur and causing more problems now. I will do it in a later release.

Quick Steps For N00bs like me (ext4 and black ice)
I had to mess with my phone to get the settings right but I popped the android cherry with this Rom. I'll save the rest of you the trouble of going through the steps I did.
If you tried ext4 and reflashed with another rom, your cache will not mount until you use the rfs formatter zip and reattempt.
Files Needed:
Odin 1.7 +
BlackIce_KD1Base.zip (Stable Release from dev forum thread)
ext4converter (from dev forum thread)
rfs_formatter (in case you mess up from same thread as ext4)
update.zip (from final cwm thread in dev forum)
Assuming you are not on ext4:
1) Download stock kd1 and flash onto phone using odin.
Make sure partition is not checked. Click the pda button in odin and direct it towards the PDA_KD1.tar.md5file. Make sure that your phone is in download mode, odin will let you know its ready when one of the ports on the screen lights up yellow. If you cannot get to download mode through the buttons, take out the battery, plug in the usb, hold down the volume up and down key + power, and then pop the battery in while holding those keys until you get into download mode.
When you succeed installing the rom through odin, you will boot up into the samsung recovery menu. Just choose reboot and then place all the files listed above in the root of the sdcard through the stock rom os. This is because if you use the rfs formatter, it will wipe all data from your sdcard. If you got stuck at the samsung 4g screen after ext4, you have to start the process over by using the rfs formatter.
2) After installing all files in the root of the sdcard, navigate to quickboot and choose recovery. The phone will boot into the samsung recovery mode with blue text. Choose Reinstall packages from samsung recovery menu to enter cwm (it will be in blue text). Make sure you have the update.zip file from the final cwm version in the development section or this will not load.
3)Changing the mounts the first time.
go into the mounts menu and alter it to read like this:
unmount cache
unmount data
mount sdcard
unmount system
4)Goto the option install a zip from sdcard and find the ext4converter. Choose this zip file and let it do its work.
******************WARNING****************
After ext4converter seems finished, do not immediately choose the BlackIce zip to flash. Navigate back to the mount menu and set the settings so it reads:
unmount cache
mount data
mount sdcard
unmount system
5)Goto the option to install a zip again and choose the BlackIce Zip file.
Wait until it completes successfully and you should be back in the cwm menu
6) Choose reboot, and if you did it successfully, you will see the team whiskey boot up animation. Congratulations, you are winning, but not as awesome as Charlie Sheen.
If not, you will be stuck at the samsung galaxy 4g screen for a couple minutes. This means start back at step 1.
When you manage to get the stock rom loaded, you have to use quickboot and go into recovery to use the rfs formatter zip. This will wipe your sd card, so as soon as it finishes running, boot up the stock android, place all those files back onto the root of the sd card and begin from step 2 again.
I know this tutorial is a little longwinded, but I feel that its more helpful this way. Just bits and pieces by the rest of you guys wasted me a lot of man hours.
Edit For New Stable Release:
If you followed my instructions, and are on the first stable black ice and ext4, this is how you update to stable 2 and Bali v 3.0 sgs4g
Download blackice_voodoo.zip or stable release 2 from dev section
Download bali v3.0 kernel sgs4g from the dev section
Place these files on the root of the sdrom
Boot into cwm
Set the mount points to read:
unmount
mount
mount
unmount
and then choose install zip packages and choose the blackice_voodoo.zip
let it install and then goto advanced in the cwm menu and choose recovery reboot
you should see the red voodoo menu and then go ahead and check the voodoo options so that all options are enabled except for the debugging features on the bottom.
Go ahead and go back and choose install zip in the voodoo recovery and choose the bali v3.0 kernel on the root sd
it will say kernel successfully installed and then you will go to the samsung galaxy 4g screen for about 4 minutes.
******Warning*********
You will hear a voice 'Linda' even with headphones plugged in and the phone on vibrate only. It will count down from 3 minutes. You have been warned. I am embarassed to show my face in the office now. The robotic voice yelling a countdown and all the other people in the cubicles are looking at me funny. FML.
Anyways enjoy.
lol great instructions again btw. i've wasted more time fiddling with mounts combos and permissions than with the actual rom today lol
Would a little kindness kill you, ak4life23?
All we want to do is keep the forums organized.
No, it isn't a big deal that you made one mistake. But I think we'd all appreciate next time that you didn't do this.
Second, this isn't a theme, it's a ROM. The ROM includes a theme Krylon ported from another source. So, common sense would be that you called the actual theme the CORRECT name, "Mr. Apoc Black Knight Theme", and not "Black Ice".
And no matter what you modify, what **most** people call a theme is a ZIP you can flash that changes the wallpapers, colors, notification bars, or lock screens.
Not to be overly critical or rude, but just saying as a fellow user.
Thank you :]
when did they change that u couldnt post on the dev forums as a new user cause umm my firsts posts were on those same forums intrusting but ya its nice what u posted but tbh for sake of the forums the questions should have been directed to the thread that already contains the rom

NEVER SELECT REPARTITION ON ODIN, MAKE SURE IT IS UNCHECKED BEFORE YOU CLICK START
IF POSSIBLE, USE ANOTHER USB CORD THAN THE ONE THAT COMES WITH THE EPIC AND USE A REAR USB PORT.

FAQ:
Q: VIRUS VIRUS VIRUS!!!
A: The rage against the cage exploit is technically a 'virus' because it uses a hole in android to it's advantage. It is not a 'bad' virus. Just add it to the ignore list or use a pre-rooted odin tar.
Q: I think I bricked my Epic
A: Read post 2
Q: The odin doesn't work
A: Try removing the .md5 extension from the tar
IF YOU HAVE ROOTED ANOTHER DEVICE BEFORE
Please update your android sdk and remove all drivers from other Samsung phones
There is no s-on
The recovery buttons (volume down, power and camera) bring you straight to recovery mode and not to a fastboot menu
ROMS FROM OTHER PHONES DO NOT WORK
The first thing you want to do before you root is download my root pack, this will have everything you need to root, unroot, install ClockworkMod and unbrick: http://www.multiupload.com/2R449NILF9
HOW TO ROOT:
Download and extract the pack listed above
Install the Samsung drivers included
(optional but recommended) Install the android SDK
Read the FAQ
On your phone got to settings>Applications>Development and check the box that says 'USB Debugging'
Plug in your phone and wait for the drivers to be recognized
On phone choose charge only
[WINDOWS] Go to the root folder and run 'run.bat' as admin [LINUX] Run run.sh
Wait for phone reboot
Power off your phone after the whole process finishes
Hold Volume Down, Camera and Power until you get a purple recovery
Use the volume buttons to navigate to backup and restore and use camera to select [HINT: To go back use the back arrow]
Make a new backup
Choose reboot system now
You are now rooted, go flash a custom rom if you want [NOTE: Almost all themes don't work unless you are on a rom that is deodexed]
HOW TO FLASH A ROM:
Find a kernel that works with the rom (like SyndicateRom Frozen and Genocide kernel) and put both the kernel and rom on your SD card
Go into recovery mode the same way as before
Choose wipe data/factory reset
Choose wipe cache
Go into advanced and choose wipe dalvik cache
Go to flash zip from sd card
Choose choose zip from sd card
Choose the rom
Do choose zip from sd card again
Choose the kernel
Reboot
***FIRST BOOT WILL TAKE UP TO 10 MINUTES BUT PROBABLY ~2
HOW TO FLASH A THEME:
MAKE SURE YOU ARE ON A DEODEXED ROM
MAKE SURE THE THEME IS FOR THE SAME UPDATE AS THE ROM (EX. EC05 themes are for EC05 roms ONLY)
Go into recovery
(recommended but not needed) Wipe cache and dalvik cache
Flash the theme
Reboot
HOW TO FLASH A KERNEL:
MAKE SURE YOU ARE ON A DEODEXED ROM
MAKE SURE THE KERNEL IS FOR THE SAME UPDATE AS THE ROM (EX. EC05 kernels are for EC05 roms ONLY)
Go into recovery
(recommended but not needed) Wipe cache and dalvik cache
Flash the theme
Reboot
MOTIVATION
-It is nearly impossible to brick while rooting
-When you root, you get cool stuff like a faster phone, bug fixes, themes and some root only apps!
-If you brick, first try some of the guides here at xda then, if they don't work, bring it into sprint and pretend you don't know what happened, DON'T admit to rooting...
Reserved for how to unbrick

Personally, I like it. It's informative and is a great post overall. Thanks a lot for this. I am by no means a newbie to rooting this phone or flashing ROMs and mods but I have friends who are.

Make sure to include a note that says what "clear data/factory reset" does(erase all phone data). I like this maybe if it had a link to the one click root, and how to root and install cwm on gingerbread it would be better.

One thing that might be useful
When doing one click root; they need to turn off the anti-virus because it will see that rageagainstthecage is a virus (when it isn't) and their root process will fail

[Q] CWM recovery flashing (stuck) - What's your fav SK4G set up?

Hey all! Glad to be apart of the sidekick 4g xda community. i just recently got a SK4G from ebay for 45.99. Works flawlessly. (after a return of a 70$ one that wi-fi didn't work - which ima use groove ip lite to call for free w/my GV number, text with GV app)
So I'm trying to flash CWM recovery to flash custom roms. Here is where I am stuck at:
I'm on the Kv1 stock firmware
I am also rooted
I moved the recovery file to system/bin
i am in a pickle trying to figure out how to install the recovery.zip within the 400mb-ish all-in-one pack i got from an awesome member who compiled it and uploaded it through dropbox
do i flash with odin? does mobile odin work for this device?
i'm trying to navigate it /internal_sd/ the root file so that when i reboot to the system recovery it will flash the voodoo CWM.
but i cant find /internal_sd/ with root explorer. should try es strongs? or just regular odin?
tl;dr - this is exactly where i am stuck
whats the best recovery without having to deal with the mounts?
kinda annoying but after i find a rom i like i dont plan to flash a lot, but would like to try a few roms to find my liking.
what is your fav set up? as in
-whats your fav rom?
-whats your fav kernel?
-whats your fav modem?
any extra advice and everything will be appeciated

Welcome. I personally use the red CWM recovery and the Glorious Overdose series of ROMs. I had been using TLS' G.O. v3.2 Bulky until I recently decided to go back to G.O. v1 and flash a few newer things onto it. So, my phone is a franken-phone right now, but it works well.
awesome thanks! currently i am having trouble getting into CWM recovery - orange text. i mount system, backed up recovery, overwrote recovery, placed update.zip at the root of microSD, then used quick reboot to go into recover and i get a csc error thing. something about e signature verification failed. i am rooted, usb debugging, and using a 32microHCSD. heard that i might have to use a non - HDSD? i have a normal 2gb one to try. any ideas on what i may be doing wrong?

How are you going about overwriting the recovery file? One thing that took me a while to do on mine was that I had to mount the internal storage as read/write in order for the recovery file to be really overwritten. You'll need a file explorer such as ghost commander (free on Google Play) that can do that. The other thing is maybe the recovery file you have is bad. I don't think so, but you never know. You could also try holding down the volume buttons and the power key when the phone is off to get into recovery.

I could not for the life of me get Ghost Commander to overwrite the recovery file, although it otherwise looks like a solid, clean app. I tried Root Browser and it worked perfectly. Most likely it was user error, whatever the issue with GC was but in case it does that to you there's another app that might do the job.

Please remember this phone has issues with rooting (may be a problem with flashing new roms
The locations
/system/bin
/sdcard/
I stick with ric's nexus jb rom for many reasons it runs smoother then glorious overdose v5 an v4 (v5 is great an v4 is great as well but not for me personally)
Cwm red voodoo is stock with most roms but you need yellow to flash
Kj2 newer is ussually better
(Gb kills keyboard right now so if you want gb you give up keyboard for awhile)
If you have issues you should go stright into them (I don't like reading >.< ill try to help like I have been an I'm sure any user will be glad to help (we need the community strength)
P.s. root browser works flawlessly
Most explores need you to be rooted ill post another file explorer in a bit
If you need the file ill upload each one with a readme txt file (if that's allowed) doubt its not c:
if I can't upload the files you can go into android development an go to sticks or you can go to the ref of mine on buttom of the page

If you get error the best thing to do is odin to kg2 or kd1 (recommend kg2 as its simple [r] to use )
Then re root an it should fix issues overwrite the recovery in system bin .. then you can pull battery put back in hold volume an power for 4-5 secounds should boot into recover (download mode pull batter hold track pad an power for 4-5 sec)

[HELP]Rooting+CWM Recovery+CM11 flashing

Hey guys.
My final goal is to get Cyanogenmod11 on my Atrix 2.
I know there are 3 stages to do this.
Atrix 2 Specs:
Official ICS 4.0.4
Unrooted
What I am planning to do:
1. ROOT using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1742879
2. Clockwordmod Recovery using http://theunlockr.com/2012/11/14/how-to-install-clockworkmod-recovery-on-the-motorola-atrix-2/ (Atrix2Bootstrap.apk), because Boot Menu Manager is so confusing, and I'm not used to partitions.
3. Flash a CM11 ROM with proper gapps (need help).
Where I need help:
1. I want to know if the rooting method and the CWM method will work.
2. I can't find any proper CM11 ROM+GApps where people have commented "success!"
3. All the tutorials I find just say use BMM. I want to use CWM, how do I go about flashing a ROM with CWM (Bootstrap) on Atrix 2? Can I get some steps for this?
4. My motorola drivers are from https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/88481 , if that's right.
I'm requesting the amazing xda-devs team for help.. thanks in advance.
Same confusion for me :/ which method to follow :/
1. You posted this on the wrong section.
2. Rooting method will work. But will not. Why? You'll find out momentarily.
3. I think in every thread, including cm has gapps' link. Any gapps will do fine. Unless that is specified by the dev.
3. Here's the answer. All roms here only use BMM to flash. No other. There's a reason why the tutorials say BMM. Fyi, BMM is cwm based.
4. Head over to general section. There you will find a tutorial how to set BMM up.
5. If this is so hard for you, the most preliminary step is a must for you. Snoop around and read.

BMM is not that hard to use as it look !!
Even I also got confused for very first time after watching the video, but dont worry you can do it it not that difficult
Just root your phone by any method then
install BMM from play store -->> open it -->> give root access to it -->> let it do its work -->> i dont remember but may be it will restart phone, if not then restart your phone (after its work is finished) -->> on restart -->> you will see motorola logo and after that android logo (green) -->> click on it -->> then follow the BMM vdo tutorial
(I am kinda lazy about writing all steps )
PM me or any member we will help you if you stuck anywhere..... but you have to watch the complete vdo and try to understand it first

Yeah, kinda sorry about the wrong section thing, I guess I should've posted it in the help section. Btw what do you mean when you say the rooting method will not work? And what I mean by the cm11 threads is that they provide non working gapps where many users have complained of an error "installation aborted".. Thanks though.

Thanks a lot man, I appreciate this. But my main worry was the partitions. Its extremely complicating, and I thought clockwork mod recovery aka bootstrap was a better and easier option.

Opps. My bad. The rooting method will work. But CWM will not. Because if you want to flash kk rom, you'll need BMM. I'm pretty sure altered stated that, any gapps will do fine. But preferably pa gapps. But if you want it running on main system, you need other gapps. As pa minimal gapps too big for our data partition. So there it is. Fail to install. As for allocating partition for other system, it's pretty simple and easy actually. I'll leave sameer or other member to answer.

I can rephrase my queries.
What I'm having issues with is:
I don't want to have multi boot or partitions, installing CM11 as the default boot is preferable.
It would be cool if I could get quick help on installing BMM, it's very confusing.
Also, flashing the ROM with BMM is also very confusing.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Rooted phone.

Reboot the phone. After the Motorola logo you'll see an green android with spinning gears. Within 3 seconds tap on the android. Then select "recovery". Go to "wipe and clean" and do a factory reset. Go back and select "install zip package", then "install zip from storage". Choose the file from your SD card using the volume keys to navigate and power to select. Install gapps the same way then reboot. Done.

Ok...i will try to keep it as simple as i can
1) It would be cool if I could get quick help on installing BMM, it's very confusing.
Ans :
Please , i say please if u want to go somewhere with your A2 , u hav to start loving BMM and love it truely madly deeply because without it A2 wouldnt get any of the goodies it has.The video is confusing i agree..i didnt do it when the video was out...Its fairly simple you know...here i list the easy steps..follow them 1 by 1 and do it simultaneously with your device....it wont be difficult...
You can find the complete instructions in the quote below :
>Download and install BMM from google play https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...otmenu.manager
>Our phone does not have a partition for internal storage.. so we use the data partition for it.. To do so, just open a root browser like root explorer and navigate to /etc/bmm/conf
>Open "recovery.fstab" with a text editor
The last line will be something like this
/int vfat /dev/block/mmcblk1p25
Just change 'vfat' to 'auto' and 'mmcblk1p25' to 'userdata' (its the same though..)
So that it looks like this
/int auto /dev/block/userdata
and of course save it and close it..
Done.. you are good to go.. Happy Multi Booting..
Just some tips
On your first reboot, tap the android, go to settings-->System_2-->Partition setup and tap on ACTIVATE. This formats cdrom partition to ext2.
Now go back 2 two steps, and select any other system(3-6). choose Partition setup, tap on system.img, tap on Create, select the size, create it. go back and do the same with data.img and cache.img.
Once thats done, go back and select recovery, select switch system. choose your system that you created the images for, the colour will change, install any custom rom.. Enjoy!!
NOTE: BMM stores the images in internal memory(/int/clockworkmod/virtual/system_(num)). Since we dont have emmc partition and are using the data partition for /int, doing a factory reset will wipe it out and you will lose all your other roms.. So be carefull..
NOTE 2: USE ONLY SYSTEMS 3 TO 6 FOR CUSTOM ROMS.. SUSTEM 2 IS CDROM PARTITION.. YOU ACTIVATE IT ONCE AND DONE.. DONT TOUCH IT AGAIN.. ITS ONLY 12MB..
IMPORTANT NOTE: DO NOT INSTALL BMM IF YOU USED A2 BOOTSTRAPPER BEFORE. THAT WILL MESS THINGS UP WITH YOUR LOGWRAPPER.BIN. THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE YOU WILL BOOT LOOP AFTER REBOOT. NOW IF FOR SOME REASON YOU DID NOT READ THIS, AND GET A MESSAGE ABOUT BMM ASKING YOU TO GET HELP, BEST THING FOR YOU TO DO IS RECHARGE YOUR BATTERY FULLY AND FXZ BACK. OR THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE YOU WILL HAVE TO USE MCGRUVYER METHOD OR ANOTHER A2 BATTERY. USER RAD7 RECENTLY HAD QUITE A LOT OF TROUBLE WITH HIS BATTERY DYING AFTER BMM MESSED WITH LOGWRAPPER. YOU HAVE BEEN INFORMED.
2) I don't want to have multi boot or partitions, installing CM11 as the default boot is preferable.
Ans :You dont need to multi boot mandatorily. You can flash any ROM of your choice on system 1. That will be the only single ROM you have on your device...
Again..really sorry..BMM is the way...You hav to learn to love it....and it will love your phone back
3) Also, flashing the ROM with BMM is also very confusing.
Ans : After you install and go through the UI once. I bet it will be the simplest thing you ever used..Even more simple than the FB app u regularly use :silly::silly:
Thanks to both of you guys
Installed BMM, but need to flash ROM on system 1. Don't really care about multi boot.. how do I just do that with BMM?

reboot the phone. Done.
