hello all,
I have been following suggestion from the main ICS AOKP carbon rom thread. About changing the LCD density to 200, ( i did all the steps according to the instruction. the rom is beautiful with such LCD density and everything else seems to be great; except one problem; some of the application in the Play Store shows up that it does not compatible with my phone version.
Im sorry i have to post this thread, since i dont know how this problem is called. as i have tried many search query but there were no exact solotion found.
Anyone experiencing the same issue? and are there any exact solution to this problem?
thanks a lot

uhhh, u can try googling for the apk or you can use getjar(dot)com
sorry idk the solution to the problem.
Why have u set the lcd density to 200..
Are u using those nexus like softkeys...
If yes then set the density to 220..
And if not then set it to 240 which our phone has by default.
And clear data of the PLAY STORE app in settings menu...

Anyone had any luck changing the LCD density on the ICS leak? I tried it using LCD Modder Pro and it resulted in a soft brick.

I'm trying LCD Resolution, it says it needs busybox installed.
I go to the market and try to get an installer for busybox, and apparently market is broken for me - I can't download anything from it. Updates work fine, but can't get anything new.
I've been unsuccessful in getting the LCD resolution to change. I tried LCD Resolution with no change (no soft brick though). Also tried modifying the build.prop directly, that resulted in a soft brick.
I resolved my market broken issue (just reinstalled ICS through odin).
Going to try it after my nandroid backup is done. Fingers crossed!
EDIT:
On further thought and some googling, a lot of the LCD density changing apps on the market have disclaimers about it not working on certain devices, or ICS. So I would actually be surprised if the ways of doing it on 2.3.5 will work on 4.0+
EDIT:
Alright, gave it a shot. It won't work. In fact, some of the icons appear larger. Didn't break my phone at all though, just a quick reboot and it was back to normal. I'm going to keep trying different ways.
anyone have any luck with changing ICS density yet? cannot stand how big everything is!!!

I haven't been able to get it yet..
I'm hoping that once the custom ROMs start rolling out I'll be able to figure it out. I'm good at getting into those and changing things, but I'm bad at manipulating just my phone.
---------- Post added at 11:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:54 PM ----------
Yeah editing the build file just gave me a soft brick as well.. bummer.
EDIT:
I tried adding a new line to the build.prop - My phone appeared to soft brick, and when I was trying to boot it into CWM it somehow booted up. But nothing had changed. Weird..
Also the apps on the market that claim to work with ICS don't for me.
Also, I heard that the Galaxy S II folks had this weird issue of there being TWO LINES that you needed to change... but from what I could tell (I looked over the file very carefully) there is only that one line.
i got the lcd density to change, use rom toolbox pro and changed it to 200 in the build tweaks section

WORKED. Going to check it with 160 (what I used). Excellent find man, thanks!!
EDIT: Ah my phone is so beautiful now. Works perfectly, now if I can only figure out how the app is getting the job done.. haha
That worked perfectly. I was trying to change it for hours. Thanks! I am using 160 too. Looks great, better than with Gingerbread!
What exactly does changing this do?
This changes the resolution of your screen.
ROM Toolbox did the trick, thanks.

Ahh, thank you. Saved me! I did not want to revert back to GB, but do not enjoy a senior friendly UI either!
Ok, I tried this and not sure what is going on.
When I do, the icons get smaller, but instead of using all the screen realestate, I have a large section of unused space that I can't do anything with.
What am I missing or what am I doing wrong?
After you've changed the density, you'll want to change the number of columns/rows of your launcher to make use of the extra space.
Awesome! Rooted up my skyrocket on ICS! First root for me on my first android! And just got my skyrocket yesterday!
I changed mine to 200, it's way better this way. I did it through the rom toolbox as suggested.
There is a small lag though going back to the home screen, are you guys experience this as well?
Any suggestions on fixing the dial pad? I've done some searching and it seems most of the fixes aren't for us.. yet.

Where do I make that change? I'm looking through Rom Manager and can't find that option.

You change it in your launcher settings. I'd highly recommend Nova launcher. It acts like the AOSP ICS launcher (with the widgets section integrated into the app drawer). By default the desktop space is 4 rows by 4 columns, but you can change this. I'm experimenting with what works for me with a 160 density.

Thanks, that helped, now how do I create folders in Nova launcher? Can't figure this out for the life of me.
EDIT:
Nevermind, figured it out, it's like the iOS way of creating folders. Just drag and drop 1 app onto another.
Hmm, noticed that the disagree didn't resize either. Can anyone recommend a good dialer?
Exdialer is great.

I searched all the forums for this thread title and found nothing.
So my question is, I installed and upgraded to ViperOneS 2.2 and now can't seem to load and custom sounds for notifications?
I can do it for the ringtones, just none of the notification sounds.
This ROM really kicks ass too BTW.
Thanks
Also,
while on topic of ViperOneS 2.2
I am getting a strange error in google play store saying some apps are "not comptible with this device"..
Apps such as Facebook and Bike Race (awesome game)
Anyone know why Im getting this? Is it possible because I changed LCD density setting or something?
Generally just making a folder on the SD card called Notifications and putting files in there will do the trick. Can't comment on the compatibility though mate, I don't know what phone Viper is based on. If it is the One S, then that is a mystery.

Yep. That works for me. I put a bunch of small .mp3 files in /sdcard/Notifications/ and I can use those for notification sounds.
If that doesnt work for you, try moving them out and back in (using a file explorer or (adb-)shell) while booted and see if that fixes it. Alternatively you can put them in /system/media/audio/notifications/ either in recovery or by mounting /system read/write while booted.

Yes. That is what causes it.

Okay I thought that may be the culprit (LCD Density).
Unfortunately there is no "default" setting, so assuming the PPI Spec is 256, should I set it to 250 since it only increments by 10?
Thanks alot for the help regarding notifications! +1+1

Hi all,
I've noticed that on two apps I use that the font has changed to a strange outline style font, rather than a solid font. The most obvious app is documents to go. Every word doc or spreadsheet has hollow outlined fonts. Has anyone else seen this? Even after a factory restore it is still wrong.
You can download a free version if you'd not mind trying on your 5.
Thanks
Steve
As an update. Please see attached screen shots. I've still got this issue even after a factory reset. Anyone else seen this with Documents to Go or or My Trails?
Thanks
Steve
True.
After update to KitKat (version KRT16S, later on to version KOT49E) the Documents To Go (full version) has issue with fonts.
Ever after re-install.
outline fonts
I am having the same issue with my Nexus 10. Has anyone worked this out yet?

just got kitkat 4.4 via cyanogenmod and it's doing the same for me in Documents to Go 3.004
Same issue for me from Day 1 with my Nexus 5. No KitKat updates have fixed it nor does there seem to be any word on the issue from Docs To Go publisher.
I feel that everything in the stock rom is unnecessarily big. I tried changing the resolution but it made my hardware navigation keys useless.
changing the dpi solved that problem.
i wanted to know know the difference between the two. And also suggestion on which one should i prefer changing.
p.s. isn't dpi a hardware thing? how can an app change that?
thanks in advance.
just change your dpi

Use this app called Dpi changer that's available in the playstore.. Change it to 180 or 190 and reboot your phone.. The higher the value the bigger your icons will be.. Easy! :good:
Q&A for CyanideL 02-24-2015
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.

How is this so difficult to understand? If you can't follow the basic instructions in the OP of the ROM thread then you would be better off leaving your phone alone.
You must be on the latest firmware. You can acquire it by flashing an official CyanogenMod 12.

Is this same as blisspop ??.. I see most of the bugs similar to the ones I faced in bliss... Strange...but kuddos to the team for the optimization....
Is anyone having issues with audio on CyanideL? I tend to get brief moments of 'static' when listening to music. Just little fuzz/buzz moments which last half a second or less, appearing to happening at random. Strange thing is that this happens on Spotify Premium and in Poweramp with good quality Ogg music, but not in Soundcloud... Just need to check whether it's the ROM/software or my phone as this OPO is less than a week old!
Edit: appears to be happening on both headphone and loudspeaker output.
No issues with music downloaded to phone I don't use spotify I stream to blue tooth and Use wired head phones no issue.

Thanks for the reply.
This seems like a hardware issue then. I suppose I could try and revert to stock and see if the issue persists to be sure of that. I just don't want to put up with faulty audio for the next year and a bit!

I seem to have a similar issue with this. I was watching Netflix or twitch and audio stutters or makes a weird noise randomly.

That's exactly how I'd describe it actually, it's a bit of a stutter. I wonder if anyone else is having a similar issue. I'll download the stock firmware and flash that I think...

Okay I seem to have fixed it. I disabled boefella kernel sound affect and audio fx app is disabled. I also raised my cpu and gpu speeds in the boefella kernel settings since I was underclocking.
Okay, sorry if this is a dumb question but how do you get the lock screen and desktop to have the same wallpaper? I've played around in the settings but can't seem to find it.
How is battery life on this ROM? Any bootloop when using themes?
No boot loops battery is good.
No Sim Signal
Hey guys, flashed CyanL in the Morning.
I come from 5.0.2 with the latest cm firmware, but i get no signal.
Any Ideas?
Dirty Flash
hi, can i dirty flash RC10 over RC 9.7? or do i need to clean install?
System UI Crash
I am getting a system UI crash whenever i am using the phone and i get a notification on Hike Messenger. No crashes whatsoever with any other app. Any ideas?
Also, kudos to @mr-cook for the great ROM. Most stable 5.1 ROM i have used.
First of all thank you for this amazing ROM. It's perfect for my needs.
With clean flash, oxygen modem, no xposed & stock kernel i found few problems:
- For me screen off gesture for flash is not working, but for camera is working as expected
- Also for options to disable privacy guard notifications, it still show notification. So for now i need to hide it one by one.
- And the last thing, i don't know if it's from the ROM or anything else. But for me the cLock widget font for the clock is too small, even after i resized it.
I hope you can take a look for my problems, if there's anything that i can provide please tell me.
And also i have a feauture requests to have options to disable power menu in secure lockscreen. Like the options for quick settings.
Other than that, eveything works perfectly and i believe this is the perfect ROM for me, no FC and very stable.
Once again thank you @rogersb11 @mr-cook @TheGeekyNimrod
Audio FX
Its my first post on XDA, this ROM is beautiful and i also got the previus versions. but with this last, the Audio FX app doesnt work for me. i do a clean installation wiping all .... thanks
Great ROM!
I just started using this ROM since yesterday on the recommendation from my friends on the OnePlus forums.
I've tried quite a few known ROMs out there and am really impressed by this one.
The only feature I am missing is having the option of selecting Priority Only on the sound panel in the power menu or having a tile for it in the quick settings. Aside from that, this ROM has everything one can imagine .
Great job guys! @rogersb11 @mr-cook @TheGeekyNimrod
Kernel Mods
Hi @rogersb11 @mr-cook @TheGeekyNimrod
If you are working on updating the kernel, please consider adding sound tweaks to boost speakerphone. On the OnePlus One the speakerphone volume is really low when using it for a phone call, and the tweak in AK kernel helps it.
I love your ROM, but unfortunately have to use to with AK just because I need this tweak.
Thanks!
