Well this problem has happened to me twice before.
When I sync data about facebook friends already in contacts there is no change in the number of contacts, but if I look for contacts while messaging, I see those of all friends, even those Without phone numbers.
Can this be fixed so that I can only see contacts who have a phone no.?
I own a Samsung galaxy pop plus.

On my SGS2, in contact settings there is an option for contracts to display. Go into that and it's a filter for all contacts. Your phone should be similar. I have to fix it after a fresh ROM install.

Is there a reason that when you slect a contact and choose any of the options History, Activities or Media.... nothing ever shows up under those menus?
I thought it was supposed to sync with your SMS and facebook and show recent messages, sttus updates, etc.? And I do have my contacts synced with Facebook.
is this a breoken feature when running a custom ROM? Or am I just missing something?

You have to sync with the integrated facebook sns and not through the facebook app from the market. If you go to add account you will see facebook under the integrated accounts header.

I am synced through there as well. As, even if I wasn't linked with facebook, I should still be able to see call and text history with my contacts... that's not showing up either. Thanks though...

Hi friends
Is there any way if i can avoid, unwanted emails in my contact list of my phone when i sync with my gmail contacts.
If is so annoying that every email that is send to me, the email address is in my phone contact, i deleted them emails manually but when the phone updated contacts auyomatically. .they are back again..

In your contacts settings, there is an option to only display contacts with phone numbers or something along those lines.
Ah! Found it,... In your Contacts, go to Contacts Account. In there is an option for "Show contacts with phone numbers only" That should do the trick for you.
its very annoying, i really don't want all the email addresses i communicate with to be in my address book..

don't know what are you using for contacts, but on go contacts app you can go to menu/settings/contacts account and then mark show contacts with phone numbers only
Hi,
I'm preparing myself for a Galaxy Note 2 next month. I come a line of iPhones so I synced my contacts in iTunes to my Google account.
However when I open Contacts on my Galaxy Note 10.1, the app hangs for a minute or so and then I get a message that the app is not responding and whether I want to close it.
I have Sync contacts options only on the gmail account I referred to in iTunes (yahoo and hotmail options are off). I'm not rooted either. Any ideas?

hi,
same problem here, phonebook is gone but the contacts are still there. I see them by phoneapp but when try to open contactsbook, only white screen until " get a message that the app is not responding and whether I want to close it".
i've not itunes sync, only 4 g-account, hotmail, exchange, whatsapp, chat on.... the standard!
it is quite disappointing.
Has someone the solution?

Is there a way to flash a Rom whilst keeping all personal information such as contact numbers? Sorry if this is a pretty obvious question, I'm new to all this.
It depends where your contacts are stored . Do you sync with gmail?

Unfortunately, many of the numbers stored in my phone do not end up syncing with the contacts in my Gmail account. A few months ago, I had flashed Cleanrom to my phone and I tried to sync with Gmail to restore my contacts, but I ended up losing around half of my contact numbers. The actual contacts were there, but they didn't have phone numbers assigned to them, only email addresses. I want to try installing some mods for CleanRom via Aroma (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1666520) but I'm worried that the situation will replicate itself again.
You can check what contacts are stored in your Google account. This will allow you to know what is synced. Also a phone can generally store contacts in 2 places. Locally and synced to Google. There is usually a way to sync all phone only contacts. I know touchwiz had it as an option in their people app.

Hello, I'm having a strange problem with contacts just deleting and disappearing
By themselves. Just recently I've been texted and texting new people. But EVERYTIME I add them (3 did people) they then automatically delete, except for the text messages exchanged. I can add them from the messaging window and then when I go back into my contacts list those names are no longer there and in the messaging app (not even a 3rd party app am I using atm, literally the stock one..) It only shows the phone number all over again as if its a just a random person/ unknown person that hasn't been added to the contacts. Please help, this is very frustrating .

Have you tried going into Settings > Accounts (& Sync), and seeing if your Google account has Synced Contacts?

Yes, and the answer is that it SAYS it has synced, but its not happening because it's being deleted.
