There are no other ways unless you delete those ````
In your contacts settings, there is an option to only display contacts with phone numbers or something along those lines.
Ah! Found it,... In your Contacts, go to Contacts Account. In there is an option for "Show contacts with phone numbers only" That should do the trick for you.
its very annoying, i really don't want all the email addresses i communicate with to be in my address book..
thanks for your help fellas
don't know what are you using for contacts, but on go contacts app you can go to menu/settings/contacts account and then mark show contacts with phone numbers only

Hi guys, I took the time this past weekend to reallu clean and sort my contacts on gmail. Now it works greay, but I still have an issue as there are lots of contacts that still have unknown and phone contacts joined to them, so when i try to join some twitter or fb contact I can't because of the 5 contacts joined limit.
How can I easily remove al conravts from the phone.
The ideal case would be just google contacts with their twitter and fb joined...
Thanks!

Hi!
Yes this is for real
I have ONE of my contacts (what i think is) Skype NUMBER, not her name just the number and i have 26 of them. Non of them are editable or erasable.
When i'm trying to text her i just get this number to text to. I can't add a picture to it, i can't remove it i can't do nothing to it... What has happened?
I'm getting crazy here, please help
I think that might help:
- go to your list of contacts
- press Menu button, then choose View
- uncheck Facebook contacts to be visible on your contact list
Let know if it helped.
Yes, now I don't have see the number in my contacts. But, when texting the contact still gives me this number and no contact pic.

I don't have stock rom on my Sensation right now but I'm guessing that you need to unsync Facebook contacts.
Try to go to Settings, then Accounts & Sync, find Facebook account, then uncheck Sync contacts (or in more extreme way - delete Facebook account from your mobile). I hope this will help you this time.

Hi, I did remove this contact of mine, restarted the device and added a new post for this contact and now is everything back to normal.
Thank you for the idea.

When I am starting a text, I start typing the person name in the "To" field. As I start typing the person's name, the phone gives you names of contacts that match as you start typing that person's name. But here's the thing, it shows the same name 5 times in the list of suggested names, when I have each contact listed only once in my contacts. So for instance, If I'm texting Jim, it will show Jim as a suggestion as I type J and then I, but it will suggest Jim 5 different times for his same email, and mobile number. I only have him in my contacts just once with one email and one mobile number. Why does this happen and can it be fixed?
Are you using stock sms?
You may try a bit of troubleshooting by downloading GoSms Pro and/ or GoContacts from the app market to see if you have the same problem. This way you will have a better idea whether it is your stock sms, stock contacts or something else.

This has happened since having this phone. I used to use go launcher and go sms, and it did happen with go sms as well. I just recently flashed Valhalla Final. But it still happens. I always say no to syncing with gmail, as I always just import my contacts from my SD card. How do I see if my contacts are indeed synced with gmail or not?
Go in gmail on your computer and look at your contacts. I actually use gmail to clean up my contacts. Maybe try syncing with gmail, delete them off ur sd card and phone and only use gmail sync for your contacts.

+1 for only using google contacts. Easier to keep track of phone numbers while you're flashing a bunch of roms.
Well this problem has happened to me twice before.
When I sync data about facebook friends already in contacts there is no change in the number of contacts, but if I look for contacts while messaging, I see those of all friends, even those Without phone numbers.
Can this be fixed so that I can only see contacts who have a phone no.?
I own a Samsung galaxy pop plus.
Thanks.

On my SGS2, in contact settings there is an option for contracts to display. Go into that and it's a filter for all contacts. Your phone should be similar. I have to fix it after a fresh ROM install.

There is a known problem with Facebook synching
I just noticed something odd. So yesterday, I imported all my contacts from google, and use SMS Back up Restore and Call Log backup and restore. all my texts/calls are back in my new phone, which is nice. I noticed something odd with contacts though.
Not everybody is showing up. I had my old phone synced to google. The weird thing is, I think the contacts ARE in the phone, but not showing up. Today, my friend Eric texted me. His name showed up and everything, so I assumed the contact was in the phone. I went to my contacts app and looked at the list of contacts, and he wasn't showing up! When I go to the text message he gave me and clicked on his picture, I could see his contact details! But the contact isn't showing up in the app. Anyone know what to do about this?
Under contacts, Filter > Display Contacts. I had to select my gmail accounts and make sure all the checkboxes for the groups were selected. By default it seems they were not so as with you some of my contacts were missing.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, but it looks like certain contacts on my old phone weren't saved as Google contacts. I thought that having google sync on would make it so all of my device contacts would sync to my google account. Apparently, that didn't work. Oh well. At least this phone defaults new contacts to google. Whenever I would add a contact on my S4, I'd have to change it from device to Google. Frustrating as hell
