Hey,
I'm running on OrDroind 8.0.1 with Sense 4.0
I tried wiping it, and installing Elegancia ICS Sense 3.6 from EXT4 Recovery.
The device boots and gets stuck on the first HTC green logo. After 15min I took out the battery..
I tried also installing ADHD 6.6.5 by mike, and I got the same problem..
Then I installed OrDroid rom again, and device booted normally.
What can be the problem??
Thanks in advance

Hi,
You could try reflashing the 3.32 firmware, and then the 3.6 ROM.
Are you s-off or hboot unlocked? Did you have to flash your boot.img with fastboot when installing ordroid?
check your roms md5 values. maybe you downloaded wrong. also try another recovery to wipe all data vs. sometimes recoveries causes these type of errors.

Wiping is not efficient. Format all partitions before switching between ROMs with different sense versions. You cannot switch from Sense 4.0 to Sense 3.6 by just wiping cache & dalvik
My device is unlocked, but not s-off.
I've tried wiping with Mike's script, still got the same results. I unlocked my phone with HTC site, I got boot 1.27.00..
How can I update the correct firmware? I tried few but it doesn't seem to work

No, I didnt need to install it with fastboot, I used ext4 recovery
And I did format all the partitions before each install.

You are on the correct firmware (3.32 base) because your Hboot is 1.27.
Now if you want to stay S On, follow this guide to turn on smart flash & re-flash your ROM. Remember to format all partitions except SD Card before flashing.
Flash the Radio that is recommended by the developer of the Rom you want to flash. Such a situation usually occurs when an incompatible Radio is flashed on your phone. Flashing the correct Radio works for me when I get stuck in such a situation.

I can't flash radio, I've tried few times but it's impossible if your phone is S-ON.
The thing is, I had ran on this phone ARHD before. then I installed OrDroid on it, and now when i'm trying to install Elegancia or ARHD (Sense 3.6) my phone just freeze at the HTC green bootmenu.
When I installed OrDroid again, it worked. Now i'm gonna figure out which firmware i'm running on, and i'll post here the results. (gotta install java, android-sdk..)

I've version-main: 3.32.531.14
bootloader: 1.27.0000
cidnum: T-MOB010
platform: HBOOT-8260
modelid: PG5810000
I checked Elegancia ROM is built on:
Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich) - latest official HTC RUU 3.32.531.14 (U.S. T-Mobile)
That's what I have.. according to the fastboot output. What else can cause the phone get stuck then? Or maybe I do need to install different firmware or boot?
Big thanks to all of you.

I'll repeat this once more, you need 4ext with smart flash enabled & reflash the ROM because you have S On and you cannot flash the boot.img normally.
Also, you will need to format all partitions except SD Card because you are moving from sense 4 to 3.6.
If you want to follow this, the guide is in my previous post. If not, I wish you all the very best of luck with whatever other method you choose.

did you enabled smart flash on 4EXT recovery ? (4EXT->tools->enable smart flash)
if so that is only temporary...i.e. enabling smart flash only lasts for that session..and once you reboot and go back to recovery you will lose smart flash
so for smartflash to work properly...you need to enable the smartflash just before flashing the rom..then flash the rom..and then everything should work fine
TIP: to have smart flash permanently enabled..buy the 4EXT recovery app or get the recovery updater app..and install the lastest version /same version you have again via app..and when asked for SON status while installing...say yes...and that would enable smartflash permanently
Thank you for your replies guys,
I'm gonna try do it with the Smart option. I thought it's on always.
thank you guys!! it works now! I feel so stupid for thinking it's always on.. that caused me so much troubles yesterday..
now it all up and works

Hi, i have downloaded and flashed firmware 3.24 fine and now it says
Revolutionary
Pyramid pvt ship s-off rl
Hboot-1.27.1100
Radio-11.21.3504. 13_2
openADSP-v02.6.0.2226.00.0104
eMMC-boot
so i am guessing i have the correct HBOOT for 4.03/3.6 roms yeah?
problem is no matter what rom i try and flash [last one was Insert coin] after it tells me it has flashed and i reboot my phone i just get a bootloop..
I've always wiped my phone using 4ext full wipe and then proceeded to flash the rom am i installing the wrong firmware ? i am also superCID.
Any help will be appreciated, all i want to do is try ICS on my Sensation lol
Remove the firmware zip from your sd card.
Instead of using the full wipe try out the Super Wipe Script as written below.
Probably you find here a solution.
And on 4ext Recovery you have 2 suggestions on flashing a new rom:
TMOUS and KERNEL (latest could cause some problems)
I dont know what you have XE or non-XE.
With XE you should choose the 1,2 GHz Kernel.

I'm having the exact same problem. I just went back to regular Gingerbread bootloader with this to get my phone to work:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20681060&postcount=22
I'm pretty sure this has been answered a million times, but I apparently never learned much about the firmware part of this . I rooted my phone a long time ago when Revolutionary first came out.
I probably missed something along the way and not sure what I did wrong. I even tried the other firmware 3.12 with the hope I could get it to boot. No luck.

Were you trying to flash ICS ROMS or GB ROMS, you can't run GB on 1.27 h boot. H Boot 1.23 can run both GB and ICS. What were you trying to flash?
Have you read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767
After you flash the firmware for ICS you have to delete the PG58IMG.zip from your sd card. Then flash the ICS ROM.

I was trying to install InsertCoin (Latest). I updated the firmware and removed the file so I could boot into recovery again and install the ROM.
I Did a super wipe even though it appears you can do this with the ROM itself. I got the bootloop and read somewhere that I might need to install 3.12 firmware so I tried this and the boot screen just stayed on and wouldn't boot into the ROM so I could set everything up.
I tried reinstalling the firmware and rewiping and installing the ROM a few times with no success.
I just switched back to the gingerbread firmware to get my phone working again.
I must be doing something wrong, but it's the middle of my semester and I'm really trying to make this as painless as possible. I don't have time to be up working on this stuff all night long.
---------- Post added at 10:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:41 PM ----------
I tried ARHD ICS ROM and installed the firmware and it worked like a champ!
My download of Insertcoin must have been corrupted. The links on their page are all messed up.
Thanks for your help
Lately I have some problems with installing the latest firmwares for the Sensation. Both 3.24 as 3.30 firmwares cause a bootloop, but the 3.12 firmware is just working fine.
My flashing procedure:
1. Super wipe
2. Install Firmware
3. Super wipe
4. Install ROM
5. Wipe dalvik + cache
6. Fix Permissions
This all causes a bootloop. Also tried to install the ROM first and then the firmware. (without super wipe in between of course)
Things I've tried
- My cid was HTC__E11 and changed it to 11111111 (and back again now)
- Tried booting without sd-card and without sim-card
- Making a PG58IMG.zip with an old HBOOT
-Tried both Mike1986.'s firmware as the noob friendly from Kohr-Ah
More people having these probs and do any of you have new ideas?
The only thing that can in my mind, was to stick with the 3.12 roms untill the official release comes form HTC. Unroot etc to get the official update and check if my phone will work. If not, send it to HTC Repair centre.
Which ROM are you trying to install? You try updating firmware to latest 3.30 and install latest Insertcoin, works for me.
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio using Tapatalk
all you have to do is:
download the 3.30 fw
put the PG58IMG in your sd card root folder
go into hboot screen and flash it (you have to be superCID) reboot+vol down
now delete PG58IMG from your sd card and reboot in recovery
wipe all and flash your rom
enjoy
If you had bootloop eariler with V3.24 firmware , you will still have bootloop with V3.30 firmware as the HBOOT is same in both v3.30 and V3.24 .
Stick to V3.12 till HTC release a newer HBOOT in near future . Till now there is no logical reason why it is happening with a very few users.
I've had the same problem all day with this. I flashed the recommended 3.3.0 f/w this morning and couldn't for the life of my work out why i was getting bootloops.
Luckily I came across this by chance, saved hours of tearing my hair out thanks

I've tried, ARHD, InsertCoin, HyperNonSense, Open Sensation CM9, Virtuos Inquisition. It's not the Rom that's causing the bootloop. It's the firmware that's causing it.. Most roms do work with he 3.12 firmware.
Think I'll stick to musarraf172 his advice and stay on 3.12 till a new hboot comes out. Or maybe if someone else finds a solution for this.

3.12 runs fine, my question is, can I install mike's new ROM 6.3.0 XE

P.S: the 3.12 fw bootloader says LOCKED on it, doesn't let me to flash radio, so I'm currently stuck with a piece of metal, any help?

You might be wrong here.
@ guy asking question. Just install the rom with 3.12 fw, as mussy said, there are a few people that get bootloops with latest fw but run ok on 3.12. Also, you can always take 3.30 fw, remove hboot.img from it, and just update radio and other partitions but leave hboot intact. That might work.

You can run ARHD 6.3.0 with V3.12 firmware. Some users already confirmed this.
Locked HBOOT does not allow to flash radio, splash via fastboot. But You can easily flash radio, splash etc by PG58IMG.zip method.
bootloop fix?
Hey again,
just figured out why I got the bootloops with the 3.30 and 3.24
The reason is very simple : I tried to flash them without flashing to the new ROM
The old ROM I had just happened to work with the 3.12 but with the 3.24/3.30 it went to the bootloops.
Here's the guide that helped me with this issue (now I have the 3.30 and the 6.3.0XE ARHD ROM) :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1472298
Thanks to erraggy for giving me this link to the great guide
P.S : If you have some cooked UOT file you made with SystemUI.apk & framework-res.apk , DO NOT flash them after flashing the ROM , your phone will be stuck @ the first boot for hours. I know it sounds stupid, but hey, I'm new at this and if it helps others do be it
btw, great ROM

Did V3.24 work on your phone ? If not , then V3.30 will also not work. You can flash v3.12 and install ARHD 6.3.0 . They will work together. If you still want to flash V3.30 , then replace the HBOOT 1.27.1100 in V3.30 with the HBOOT in V3.12.

fastboot flash splash1 splash1.img
You can download some beautiful splash from here. Open the flashable zip and find the splash1.img inside the etc folder.

Virtuous inquisition 4.
For sense ics roms id go with mike1986 arhd 6.5.3 rom.
So what u need to do is root ur sensation
Supercid
Flash 4ext recovery. Its an apk and easy to do
Upgrade ur firmware to 3.32. Flash in bootloader.
Need mike1986 superwipe script
Rom of your choice.
Boot into recovery. Flash the superwipe. Then flash ur rom. Quick run down of what you need to do.
Skill required? Not much. The hardest part might be using adb and fastboot commands for the supercid. Other than that its easy as pie

thanks so much,so now the supercid i read up on it while requiring s-off and root thats alil confusing but ill read up on it again and the superwipe ive been seeing that on rom threads "flash superwipe" what is that and where would i get it?
and i need a big help,i tried upgrading my firmware to 3.32 and it said "wrong cid" "fail" now its stuck on the htc logo and bootloops help please :'(
Superwipe is down toward the bottom of OP of this thread. It leaves you with a very very clean phone. So no apps, no user data, no ROM. You'd want to have a nandroid backup at the very least before superwiping, as well as titanium backup for your apps etc. You just flash superwipe from recovery like a ROM (install .zip from sdcard).
Sounds like you've got hold of the wrong firmware for your CID. So you either need to know your CID (if you've got your head around adb and fastboot commands, "fastboot getvar cid" will get that for you) and find the right firmware, or supercid your phone so you can use any firmware. Go to this thread for firmware.
For your firmware there's a file,
android.txt, that has a list of CIDs. The T-Mobile CID usually isn't in it. If you do the superCID you shouldn't have to worry about it. Other wise you have to open the file located in the PGM581000 file and add CIDT-MO010 to the txt file. Either way make sure you delete the PGM file immediately after you flash it.

Go to the dev thread for ROMs, ARHD is my preference. Good directions and all the files you need linked right there. Well most ROM threads are that way but this ROM and firmware are smooth and flawless.

This is misleading and not really true. First of all, VI is not true AOSP but Sense with most of the obviously sense parts removed. Secondly OpenSensation CM9 is hands down the best true AOSP rom and now that it has bluetooth and 1080p camcorder there's virtually no reason to use a senseless sense rom like vi.

i went to here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1412618 and i downloaded Firmware from 3.32.401.x & 3.32.401.10x RUU and renamed it to PG58IMG.zip i booted up to hboot and when it read the image file it said "wrong cid" "fail" i tried to boot up the phone normally after and it got stuck on the htc logo then bootlooped from there.. i did have a stock backup but flashing that over didnt work still had the same htc logo bootloop, i still had [ROM][Sense 4.0][MAR.25] OrDroid 1.7.2 | Fast & Stable saved to my sdcard so i tried to flash that to see what would happen and got the same result i then went to here.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767 and downloaded firmware 3.32 Unlocked and renamed it to PG58IMG.zip booted up into hboot it did its thing but this time it successfully flashed.. i booted the phone back up and the rom and phone successfully booted up completly. now im running on [ROM][Sense 4.0][MAR.25] OrDroid 1.7.2 | Fast & Stable as my rom and im just lovin it! but at this point im kinda scared to flash anything else as i do have it booted up i dont wanna mess anything up again lol

Good to hear you're up and running again just a question, at any point in that process did you check your CID? Which 3.32 firmware did you download from the second link?

CID is carrier identification. The thread you downloaded your T-Mobile firmware from contains firmwares for a variety of CIDs, in other words, specific to whichever carrier your phone came from. SuperCID removes that form of 'branding' and allows you to flash any firmware file, if you look through the list of firmware they can all be flashed to a device with CID 11111111. So essentially we superCID for convenience.
SuperCID has no bearing on what ROMs you can flash, the only consideration is that a particular ROM will require a certain firmware, eg. ICS ROMs need 3.12 base or higher.

Almost. SuperCID and custom recovery you can do no worries. Firmware upgrade will depend on what stock ROM is currently installed, if you flash firmware that your stock ROM isn't compatible with you will get bootloops and most likely have to downgrade. So personally I wouldn't be looking to upgrade firmware until you intend to flash a ROM that requires it. At that point you'll want a custom recovery anyway so it won't hurt to install that now.

Thanks. I'm currently on the T-Mobile Sensation 4G stock ROM S-Off/Rooted. Will going to the 3.32 firmware wipe the stock ROM or cause bootloops for sure?
I also have ClockWork Recovery from a really long time ago. Using ROM Manager to flash a new recovery (trying to update) does nothing. Why does that happen? Perhaps my recovery is too old?

I'm would assume your 4G would already be running ICS? In which case you probably already have up-to-date firmware installed. The firmware update generally applies for people coming from GB to ICS. Go to Settings/About Phone/Software Information/More/Build Number and see what numbers you have there.
Flashing firmware will not wipe your ROM, the worst that will happen is bootloops if the firmware and ROM aren't compatible.
The recovery you have now shouldn't stop you from flashing a new one, instead of using ROM Manager try downloading 4ext from the Play Store and see how that goes.
Hi All, hopefully i am in the right place.
I have been trying to flash a CoinDroid_V1.5.2 on my Htc Sensation (not a 4g) which is locked to Telstra (Australian telco)
My specs as follows:
Android version: 2.3.4 (ginberbread)
sense: 3.0
Software number: 1.45.841.5
Hboot-S-off: 1.17 (phone is rooted)
cid: 11111111 (i changed the cid using information ive founded on this website)
midG5811000
4EXT Recovery tool installed as well
radio: 10.14.9035.01_m[, tried to flash to radio 11 but the phone kept restaring itself after 5 minutes, so i downgraded it, working fine now.
I have download a file called Android revolution hd super wipe, also the PG58IMG image file, everything that you might think off, but still does not work
I have tried to install the coindroid from the 4EXT utility program, selected coindroid 1.5.2 and started to flash, everything fine so far, but when it finishes i restart the phone and does not load up the rom, it keeps rebooting itself everytime, i have also tried using a different rom called Android_Revolution_HD-Sensation_6.6.4_XE and the screen gets stuck on the beats audio, does not go further than that.
Phone is rooted, s-off working, clockwordmod, 4EXT utility loads up as well...
I dont know what i am doing wrong here, can someone help me out here?
I have also tried doing this method in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1232107
Which basically unlocks your phone, tried it and the phone was unlocked but all my apps and configuration was gone, so went back to the s-off to restore(which did not load the 4ext) and tried to restore my stock rom from s-off, hoping that i can still use it with the phone unlocked. Did not worked at all. It was a miracle that after trying to install the coindroid and failed again, the 4ext when back alive again and i was able to restore the stock rom which works.
Can someone tell me please, what i have done wrong?? i have followed all the necessary steps and yet cant flash any rom
Thanks to all for helping the new newbie
Hi,
Regarding CoinDroid, most links are broken.
Re-download and verify md5 sum.
Alternatively try OrDroid.
Same developer and as I see almost the same rom.
And update hboot
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1656867
You didn't follow all necessary steps. You gotta flash 3.3x.xxx.x firmware for ics. Your 1.45.xxx.x firmware you have now is for gb. That's why it wont boot.

This could be also my problem, however my phone boots fine.
Unfortunately I have no idea where to verify the firmware version. Could you please advise?
Settings/about phone/software information/software number. Ics roms will have 3.xx.xxx.xx software number and gb will have 1.xx.xxx.xx. 3rd post down in sensation general forum will have all the info about firmware that you need. You gotta flash firmware that matches the rom you want. You just download it and flash it before you flash the rom.
For me that's OrDroid 6.0.0...
thank you

My mid is: PG5811000
Telco company called : Telstra
my cidnum i dont know which it is, can you give a hand mate?
Also, if a flashed the firmware to ics, can i still be using the normal stock or i have to flash it as well?
According to your first post your cid is 11111111 (supercid). You should be able to use any one of the 3.32 firmware. Your rom has to match the firmware.
yes, it's 11111111

Yes, i downloaded an app called CID GETTER, before i flashed, it said that my cid was TELST001, but now shows 11111111.
My stock rom wont work if i flashed the new Firmware, because it gingerbread and not Ice cream sandwich? Is that correct? Sorry for repeating myself, i just want to get it right.
Regarding the CoinDroid_V1.5.2 or the Android_Revolution_HD-Sensation_6.6.4_XE, they all shall work once i flashed the new firmware because booth are ICS, right?
Thanks mate, i am actually downloading this Firware: cidnum: TELST001
from the website you gave me.
What you reckon?
Ps: Should i update the radio too? or the new rom will update it for me?? This is getting annoying!
Ps1: Once i download the file(firmware) should i flash it trough clockwork recovery or EXT4 ? I am not sure about that.
Thanks for all the helpers out there.

Flashing Firmware Updates both the bootloader/hboot and radio too.. So you need not worry about radio and all
After you flash this firmware tou can't run your current gb rom. As it's not compatible.. And only ics rom runs.. So after flashing the firmware flash the coindroid/ordroid rom and then you are good to go
Now regarding firmware flashing.. It will be PG58IMG file.. so the method of flashing will be different.. Please for instructions/steps on how to flash the firmware please check in the thread from where you downloaded. The steps are given there

Which rom to start with?

Thank you so much, it's all clear now.
I have to flash the firmware (anyone in my case due that my sensation is supercid) Using S-off
Flash then the superwipe for the sensation
Flash the Rom that you like
And that's my problem come, i dont know which rom to start with
I have narrowed my search to this 3:
Coindroid v 1.5.2 ( I read that it's quite a good one)
Ordroid v 5.02 (I have not seen any videos on youtube with the looks of it)
Android_Revolution_HD-Sensation_6.6.4_XE (A good choice as well)
From this 3 roms, which is the latest one? And which one is the one that will work out of the box without you trying to fix either the wifi or something like that
Thanks to all for their responses.
Coindroid and ordroid are same.. I mean coindroid became ordroid.. So ordroid is like an update to coindroid.. And basically these are sense 4 ported rom's.. So they are bound to have some issues.. I heard hot spot and Bluetooth are not working properly.. In OP of the thread the bugs are mentioned... So if you want to try sense 4 go for that
The other one ARHD is pretty stable... This comes under your out of box scenario also INSERT COIN comes under this case...
I'm using IC now and I'm pretty happy with it
Sent from my pyramid.. Through blazing fast sonic waves
So you're running clockwork mod recovery while using the 4ext recovery utility? Before updating use the.utility to flash 4ext recovery, if you flash ordroid there is already the option to superwipe built in when flashing. Be sure to flash 4ext

I'am sure many have asked this.. Sorry for that. And my bad English..
I have a new Sensation (z710e) with a rooted stuck GB.
It started with problems getting s-off. I followed the guides from CyanogenMod wiki.
I ran it several times. I never saw a complete massage it kept losing the connection in fastboot.
However the time the third time revolutionary.exe said that my phone wash rooted (before running anything) and fastboot says its s-off.
SU is installed and root is seems to work in GB.
I'am only telling this because the problem may be here.???
The real problem is now upgrading to ICE or JB if you know any good roms.
I started installing Clockwork because i'am familiar with it from my Flyer and Desire Z.
I installed CM9 it boots ok. But right after i select language my phone freezes. (Battery out for reboot.)
Then i try installing Android Revolution HD 6.7.2 instead. First via Clockwork where the phone freezes after the white HTC logo. (Battery out for reboot.)
Then again via this guide and 4EXT recovery.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21989107
Still stuck but now after a black android screen
GB is still booting after a nano recovery.
What to do.. What do do..?? Please help..

HBOOT: 1.17.1111

you need to do a firmware upgrade. Go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767 select the 3.32 version firmware not 3.33 . it seems like you will have less problems switching roms til you find the one you like if you use 3.32 version. follow the instructions to update firmware from bootloader then when thats said and done install rom for arhd 6.7.2 or whatever rom like you did before.
Seams to work now. Thanks dude.
ARHD still failed.. Maby besourse i select custum ?firmware?/something (boot.img) under install. To late to test now.
CM9 works fine..
Now i can sleep ok... Thanks.. I will return if more problems..
Still cant boot ARHD.. Any idea why?
