This still happens to me today only if i touch the screen while i lock it. and as for battery, MoKee OS from TrekFan is the ROM you want if you want battery life. it looks alot like Cyanogenmod and i can go almost 2 and a half days on a full battery with general use. otherwise Charge your phone too 100%, boot into clockworkmod and wipe battery stats, see if that works out for you.

My phone doesn't even want to show when I have 100% but ill give mokee a try. Does it have echoes in pjobe calls? And when going through call logs and texts, does that show the contact or the contacts phone number?

only when you have speaker on, its based off of CyanogenMod so all the issues CM had MoKee will also have. and yeah it does but that you can change in all ROMs for a personal preference.

Ghost calls will vary from baseband and kernel.

I don't use speaker too often so I'm fine and sweet! I just flashed to it. Do you know how to turn off the pop up when you receive a text? Also, I constantly get crashes from Google services framework and gapps or something. How do I fix that?

im not sure, i like having it on though, and to fix the crashes you need to wipe data and cache

Gah I wiped the data and cache. I guess data from titanium backup is causing something. I guess I'll try again
Sent from my LG-P920 using XDA

did you wipe Davlik too? and my guess is that Titanium backup is restoring your cache when you restore everything, which is why i dont use it. any apps i need to recover (battle.net authenticator) i just write down restore codes for it.

hi there i got questions about battery!
1) is normal a battery drain 1% for minute during web browsing in edge mode?
i had tried many roms and kernel... always same battery usage, also after calibration!
2) is normal a battery drain of 10-20-30 % (it changes all the time!) when i reeboot in recovery mode for change kernel or to install a theme?
if i change a rom it takes at least 50%...

I wipe everything but I restored everything but the thing that was screwing me up was calendar data. It's all good now! Some of my contacts only show as numbers even though they're saved.

why? the standard Kernel that comes with it is just fine... use V21a for O3D roms theres more of them and less issues. the only thing i like about the standard Thrill ones is that the connectivity is far better, but id rather have nice and stable, vs connection is good but glitchy.

I still think it's a good habit to have because it does happen occasionally and when it does, people complain that the ROM is the cause when in reality some change was made that somehow affects how the battery is read.
I was in the same boat as you, phburks, until I flashed EB 2.4 and I was convinced it was the ROM that was causing intense battery drain because I never had to wipe battery stats before.
You can simply delete the batterystats.bin from /data/system and it's virtually the same thing as using one of those apps from the market.

Should this be done when the battery is at 100%? And should you let it completely drain once after that?

Battery life ics

What ics ROM have you guys the best results for battery life? On AOKP, I'm getting like 8 hours with 20% left. I don't use data because it kills the battery fast.

Prepare to be flamed for asking this question. Not sure why, but everyone seems to get their underwear in a bunch when this question is asked. Just a heads up.
Anyway, I had the same problem as you. I had the exact same setup as I did on CM9, but had much worse battery life, even after multiple fresh installs. I also don't have any widgets or many apps that sync very often. It seems that you just have to wait for the OS to "soak in." Make sure that you wait at least 10 minutes before doing anything after you flash the ROM. Just let your phone sit. After that, you can go into settings and tweak the phone. Also, try to go into the power saver settings, and setting sync to turn off after a set amount of time (I put 15 minutes), and for data to either turn off or turn to 2g mode after x amount of time.
Also, I'm sure you know the obvious.. turn off wifi/data/gps/bt/etc. if you're not using it. Set brightness to low or automagical.
I began with ~7 hours of battery life, and got to ~14 hours. Typically I don't have to be on battery power for 14 hours, and I tend to end up having ~35% of battery life after a full day of use.
Well I'm just asking how everybody uses their phone and hoe much they can get with it. Not saying that the battery life just sucks. I'm supportng my battery life with details
And i don't use many widgets either. I took off my live wallpaper too,i waiting to see how that works out

How is your signal where you live? Do you use your phone as a mp3 player? Have you seen this yet?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S/SGH-T959V/Why_is_media_server_using_my_battery
Not everybody will get the same battery life. If you are getting good battery on another ics rom and not another it is user error. Even if you are getting good life on gb and that kind of life on a ics it is a user error. Next time just flash and dont restore any data at all.
My battery life problems are pretty much not there anymore. I'm running AOKP M6B3, and getting 16 hours with 25% left, mild data usage, Facebook, GMail push, GVoice push, always on 4G and wifi on too.
I think the key was a Heimdall to stock, then to AOKP.
Yep. That's what I've been recommending to people complaining with battery on CM9 and AOKP to do. My battery life is great, and I use GR every time I go to a new build.
Well, to be fair, I went stock to AOKP M6B1, installed apps. Then just did an upgrade flash to B2. But still, much better battery life.

I clear the battery stats and use all aokp features such as turn off wifi data when screen is off. I also have auto bright on and screen time out after 15 seconds. Yeah, you've got something going rogue on you. May be an app, or corrupted app data, or something harder to track down. If it's something you don't mind dealing with, a factory reset may be in order. Otherwise, you would try and see if it's being cause by wakelocks. Using Battery Battery Stats can point you to PWLs or KWLs, but if that yields nothing, the factory reset may be your solution. Sorry, it's hard to give a definitive answer on this.
What version are you on, OTA ICS, Leak 1 or 2, or GB? ROM, if any? When did this start happening, and can it be isolated to any indicator(s), such as opening a certain app, using WiFi, bluetooth, etc?

I can't say for sure that it's a battery issue, seems unrelated to this stage occurrence. I'd have to say it was software related, but if the swapped battery has cleared up the problem, and it decides to reappear, you can try what I suggested above to track down wakelocks. You may still have to resort to factory resetting, but you'll have to be the one to make that determination...

[MOD, ICS] Incredible battery life for ICS ROMs

Hi Guys
Well, after witnessing incredible battery life on latest HebMIUI (mostly taken from Pimp My ROM and Adrenaline Injector), I decided to make a flashable for the rest of the ICS ROMs we have here.
I must say I also use the LB6 modem which is known to give good battery life, so you are advised to install it too, but, it's your call.
I also add here AutomateIt app, which lets you decide what the device will do for certain events (open/close wifi/3G/4G/screen/charge etc.) which you can utilize to save battery life.
links to modem & sources:
SGH-T959W LB6 modem
HebMIUI ROM
PimpMyROM
Adrenaline Injector
AutomateIt
I take no responsibility for any damage claimed.
Tested on MIUI, AOKP.
Make a nandroid backup and flash it via CWM/TWRP.
Let it soak in for 1-2 days and let me know what you think.
Does this include the build.prop changes of hebmiui?
Yes. ROM name was set to Batt_MOD instead.
Installed on Remics without any issues. Will report back on the battery life in a few days.

Installed on aokp, on boot I get a process is not responding. After that it is fine and so far great battery usage.
i'll try it later.
Currently (CM9 latest rel), Sitting on a desk with full 4G on a 2300 mAh battery, I get about 2-3 days of usage. Plus a few calls and texts.
At school in and out of e, 4g, and deadzone, I get down to ~65%. Then I need to reboot to stabilize or else it will continue to drain at the rate and I'll be dead by the end of the day.
LB6 did nothing for my battery life but I was getting incredibly slow data, so I reverted to KJ4.
I am thinking of padding KC1 and trying it.

Your phone should be *sleeping* most of the time when you're not using it. CPU speed is irrelevant when sleeping. BBS is the best tool for figuring out why it isn't sleeping.

hm, After I flashed this, whenever I tap on the "(i)" in the news and weather app that
comes with CM9 to see the temperatures for the day, it gives me a message that the
app stopped working and closes..
It might not have to do with this battery mod, but I am trying a process of elimination to pinpoint the culprit..
Would you confirm please if the News & Weather app works after you tap "(i)" in the top right corner?
Thanks..
Edit: I forgot to mention that I tried fixing permission, clearing cache & dalvik cache, but same results..
Hi
the only relevance to this app could be from the system\etc\init.d\S70darky_zipalign script.
Try with and without it and see if it helps.

[Q] Rom for best balance between perfomance and battery stats?

Hi guys,
I'm new to flashing, and so far I've flashed succesfully CM7 and miUI-Revenge. I sticked with the latter, which I enjoy very much, but it drains the battery at an unparalleled speed. In three hours without data, wifi, of gps, the battery goes from 100% to 50%.
Is there a rom you recommend using for better performance? I assume going up from Gingerbread won't help, but I might be wrong. I guess the opposite of the spectrum might be the barebone rom. Are there other roms in between, that you think might represent a good balance?
Thanks!

my phone can last all day

Here is the deal it sounds like you had a bad flash or something. Reading your responses in a couple threads leads me to think this. I would use the one click to stock either bhundven or eollie created (eollies give you a cwm without having to flash another file). Then try the ICS and JB variants. CM7 was/is good roms but they are not worked on and could be some hidden bugs that never got fumigated.

You've got some issues. Search the site for Better Battery Stats and find out what is causing those wakelocks. A drop that fast could be a lot of things but my first bet would be media scanner going crazy trying to read a corrupt file on your SD card. Post up some screenies of your battery from settings. Also get CPUspy and see if your getting pegged at a higher frequency.
That's pretty bad. It shouldn't be that bad on anything.

Unfortunately BBS has issues with Miui, and I keep receiving an error message: "batteryinfo service could not be contacted." I thought I had solved it, but it's still there. MiUI's a little different than most ROMs. You have to set root permissions from within the settings menu. Then BBS will work. I gave up on MiUI a long time ago so I can't remember exactly where it is. Search the settings and you will find enable root. Click that thing. Reboot. BBS will then tell you all about your wakelocks. Then just research them.

Is it likely that moving from GB up to ICS of JB will deteriorate battery performance, or not?
