What ics ROM have you guys the best results for battery life? On AOKP, I'm getting like 8 hours with 20% left. I don't use data because it kills the battery fast.

Prepare to be flamed for asking this question. Not sure why, but everyone seems to get their underwear in a bunch when this question is asked. Just a heads up.
Anyway, I had the same problem as you. I had the exact same setup as I did on CM9, but had much worse battery life, even after multiple fresh installs. I also don't have any widgets or many apps that sync very often. It seems that you just have to wait for the OS to "soak in." Make sure that you wait at least 10 minutes before doing anything after you flash the ROM. Just let your phone sit. After that, you can go into settings and tweak the phone. Also, try to go into the power saver settings, and setting sync to turn off after a set amount of time (I put 15 minutes), and for data to either turn off or turn to 2g mode after x amount of time.
Also, I'm sure you know the obvious.. turn off wifi/data/gps/bt/etc. if you're not using it. Set brightness to low or automagical.
I began with ~7 hours of battery life, and got to ~14 hours. Typically I don't have to be on battery power for 14 hours, and I tend to end up having ~35% of battery life after a full day of use.
Well I'm just asking how everybody uses their phone and hoe much they can get with it. Not saying that the battery life just sucks. I'm supportng my battery life with details
And i don't use many widgets either. I took off my live wallpaper too,i waiting to see how that works out

How is your signal where you live? Do you use your phone as a mp3 player? Have you seen this yet?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S/SGH-T959V/Why_is_media_server_using_my_battery
Not everybody will get the same battery life. If you are getting good battery on another ics rom and not another it is user error. Even if you are getting good life on gb and that kind of life on a ics it is a user error. Next time just flash and dont restore any data at all.
My battery life problems are pretty much not there anymore. I'm running AOKP M6B3, and getting 16 hours with 25% left, mild data usage, Facebook, GMail push, GVoice push, always on 4G and wifi on too.
I think the key was a Heimdall to stock, then to AOKP.
Yep. That's what I've been recommending to people complaining with battery on CM9 and AOKP to do. My battery life is great, and I use GR every time I go to a new build.
Well, to be fair, I went stock to AOKP M6B1, installed apps. Then just did an upgrade flash to B2. But still, much better battery life.

I'm running M6 version/beta 3. Gremlin remover does work but I did not do that I flashed over remics and doing great. I clear the battery stats and use all aokp features such as turn off wifi data when screen is off. I also have auto bright on and screen time out after 15 seconds. You also want to stay away from rebooting to much that will kill the battery and I also heard task killers drain the battery.

So I'm running inspired ace and I haven't noticed any problems until now. I noticed that after each
Charge my battery life is getting shorter and shorter. For instance when I first flashed the Rom,I got 26 hours off one charge with moderate use. Over the past 2 weeks its dropped from that and now,I pulled it off charger 7 hours ago and my battery is at 15%. The battery use is showing that the only thing eating a good piece of the battery is the display, and its only eating 42%. Is there something I'm missing? Is this a known issue discussed before? Is there another stock feeling sense Rom with GREAT battery life? Thanks in advance for any help

What is your screen on time for those 7 hours- not %, actual time. Click on display it will tell you the time. Its probably not a bug at all- your display was probably on for a long time; which is #1battery killer.

I haven't noticed that, running the same ROM solid since it was released.
Did you clear your battery stats upon flashing? How long have you been running the ROM? Have you installed any new apps since flashing? Have you been keeping an eye on any apps to see what's running as a service/using an abnormal amount of cpu?
Incidentally, I just got done logging 5h 45m screen-on time from unplug to low battery nag. No incoming/outgoing calls, gps off, WiFi on.
This is the highest I've gotten, and I really don't expect to see much more than that without messing with cpu settings and/or going to an AOSP ROM like...... GingerBeast.

I'm not sure to tell the truth. Im no newb when it comes to flashing, and have been able to sort out my own problems until here. What I've found, and what others in-the-know have said, is that a lot of these unexplained headaches can be caused by apps.
When my phone starts doing weird ****, with everything else being constant, no ROM changing, etc., I start clearing app data, cache, and if necessary, new apps themselves, until hopefully the problem goes away.
That's why I've personally taken it REAL slow with ROM flashing, for example. I want to know what works right with what, and I can't stand shooting in the dark when in comes to figuring out the source of a problem.

first thing first, uninstall any social networking app, because they sync constantly and will run your battery down, if you have live wallpaper enabled, turn it off, keep gps off, and wifi if not in use, turn 4g off if your not actively using it , remove all unnecessary widgets , download an app called setcpu and create some profiles, if not of that works, try a different kernel
I'm on a stock rooted 2.3.5 using Netarchy Kernel. I undervolted using SetCPU and have only one profile. When the screen is off it downclocks to 200mhz. I do have my gps always on. The only thing I sync though is my GMAIL and weather every 4 hours. At the end of the day my phone says it has been unplugged for 17 hours with around 30 percent of the battery remaining.
I just carry a second battery. I want to be able to use the hell out of my phone and still have battery left over, so I just have two. I can have everything sync, brightness up, use GPS, etc

i am a complete ant total noob to this community however, i ran shabbypenguins battery mod/tweak for the NS4G and it seems to be giving me more life out of my battery. from what i understand this started as a single mod and has grown over time to a collection of scripts that are meant to improve battery with a long list of features that work in the background. you need a custom kernel like net's but it's really easy to run. it is in the NS4G development thread.

yeah it does it by applying cpu profiles that slow down the processor depending on the battery level. I'd rather have shorter battery life and more performance, so I just have a second battery. It's an OEM model that I got off eBay for about $10.

Some of these ROMs are awesome on battery life. I got great battery life with Open Soju. I then switched to kushdeck with the matrix kernel and the battery life was stupendous. Have not got around to calling samsung yet after complaining, but find that the battery dies a lot faster than before. I recently uninstalled juice defender to test and will reinstall under the new os to see if that had a effect. Any any ideas or clues to fix it?
Thanks

pretty misleading title.. 2.3.6 has been a big jump up from the older leaks for me. To each their own. I would re-calibrate.
2.3.6 had given me great battery life. I would definitely calibrate your battery either through CWM or the battery calibration app. Almost always after a new flash my battery is horrible until I calibrate.
Another thing may be... I previously had Juice Defender in the past. I found that it seemed to kill my battery faster than without it. The way the android operating system is set it automatically helps save your battery life. Most running applications get moved to the background and are using very close to 0 battery. For anything that I do not want running constantly I use titanium backup and freeze. It works flawlessly.
I do not use anything such as juice defender or auto task killer and get about 44 hours out of my phone overclocked to 1.3 with moderate to high use. Let android do its thing and you will be better off IMO.
Juice defender does help when setup properly. I've gotten over 100 hours of battery life using JD - though I'm still on 2.3.5

Check your battery stats to see if there are any unnecessary programs or tasks that are killing your battery life by running all of the time. Something that you may have had set-up or syncing differently since you updated.
2.3.6 has been giving me great battery life, I am running stock KJ6 with KJ6 Voodoo-kernel, no UV or OC, no "battery saving apps" and I'm getting 12 to 14 hours with heavy use, 30+ hours with light use.
Check this post

And the link on it...it explains how the SGS4G will automatically calibrate the battery under certain conditions, and how to go about it.

I never had a problem with the battery life before. On froyo it usually lasted all day with about 50% left.
On kj6 it lasts all day and about 70% is left at night.
I have no task managers installed and syncing with google, exchange, facebook, weather and couple other services.
How many here use Bluetooth? I usually use it quite a bit, but noticed that the new official kj6 uses an unusual amount of Bluetooth share (my battery life has dropped dramatically as a result).

Look in your battery stats and see what is draining the battery.
I know there are a few ROMs that have the 'android os' power drain bug. I don't know the cause or whether a solution is being worked on. It seems the core of many of the ROMs are based on the same things. Kernels, modems, etc.
If it's the android os draining your battery start airplane mode, and then turn it off. Everything should go back to normal.... at least for a day or two.
I've run Zeus and JB-paranoid android. both has this issue. When i ran CM9 i didnt seem to have problems.
If it is not an issue for you, then upgrade to the latest build.
The one you are running is almost a month old now, so a lot of development has occured since then, specially at Scott's pace.
I don't guarantee it will solve your issues.. maybe it is one of your apps. But it definitely would not hurt to update, plus i'm pretty sure you will enjoy it

This is probably one of the worst phones on battery life that I have ever had... No matter what I do, what tweaks I use of what rom I'm on... I always only get 7 to 8 hours of battery with 1 hr screen on time.
I honestly have no idea what to do... I'm so sick of it. Anybody have any suggestions?
Seriously?
I have been on my phone all day with a full charge and I still have about half the juice. I am on stock 4.0.4 ICS. The one that droidstyles has in his guide. The Rom that came with my phone sucked on battery. This Rom works great for some reason.

What are your settings on? Post your settings (like screen, whether GPS is on, ect), a lot of times it has to do with your settings. I used to have so-so battery life but I tweaked some stuff in my settings and am very pleased with the phone.
Believe me, if you want bad, try the Droid Charge. Worst 4g phone I have ever had in terms of battery life.
This is on clean rom. Ignore the screen percentage, going down since this was a recently flashed rom.

I have nothing running... Only thing that I actually did was run v6 and I am running kt kernel
I'm on pure motives rls7
I'll add a screen shot of my battery status tomorrow cause I just plugged in
I get 30 hours with 5 and a half hours screen time.
Idk why your battery life is so bad.
I have power save on, no vibration, and sync set to manual. That's about it. Battery life for me is amazing.

Possible Idea
Don't know if this problem could occur with different ROM's, but I had issues with a runaway process that kept showing up. Maybe try Developer Options -> Show CPU Usage. I noticed that one called gsiff_daemon kept showing up at the top and was making my battery drain extremely fast. Everyone on this forum said it was a common issue and that it wasn't a crucial file, therefore I should just change the name so it wouldn't get accessed.
On RLS7 and kt kernel? This kernel has capabilities for overclocking/underclocking & overvolting/undervolting. By default your min Mhz is set to 384. Go into ktweaker and lower it to 96, test your phone out with a scaled stress test (play store app for stress testing). Then you can also go into the extra settings of ktweaker and set the Mhz for when your screen is off in addition to the governor (many options of which some are powersaving labelled).
If you want to save more battery read the kernel's thread to see starting undervolting values and lower from there while testing your phones limits. More undervolted you are, the less battery your phone uses for that particular frequency.

You obviously never had the thunderbolt, now that battery sucked. You have to let the rom settle in and your battery will improve. Usually for me the first day not so good after that everything is fine.

I had a Thunderbolt. Yep, now that was poor battery life.
My S3 gives me 12 hours if I use it heavily. Typically, at 16 hours, I still have 40% remaining. I leave WiFi, bluetooth, and GPS on 100% of the time.
As bad as your battery is, I would suspect that you have a poor radio signal.and the radios are cranking up the power to work. Try using WiFi or turning off mobile data for a while to get the LTE radio turned off.
man, i barely get 8 hours at times

This. For example, I have a 4g tower nearby at work, normally (4-5 bars). But sometimes it disappears, and I end up on a 1-2 bar 3g tower for the day. On those days, my battery life is around 8hrs max, barely using it. On good signal, even with crazy heavy usage (4hrs screen on and lots of 4g web browsing) I can get over 8 hours.
Signal strength has a LOT to do with battery life.

I get amazing battery life. Stock battery too.

Check your Google account sync - could be something in there is not syncing correctly. Settings / Accounts / Google.
I had this - Internet Sync was not working but kept trying burning CPU, network, and battery. Disabled the failing sync and all was better.

Is it switching between 3 and 4g a lot? Constantly searching is rough on a battery.

I seriously doubt you guys are getting 7 plus hours of screen on time with the stock battery. If you are then you are charging it at some point.

I am using stock battery on stock jellybean leak and get 30+ hours with 5.5 to 7 hours screen on time you can see from the pics above that we are not charging. The bar would go UP at some point if we were.
I just have my phone set up the perfect way to get maximum battery life.
It's simple. I personally have nothing to gain from lying about something so silly as battery life.
