Hello everybody,
I'm trying to develop an Android application in order to enable bluetooth tethering between two android phones without the need of root permissions.
I found in the market PdaNet as example..
How is it possible to create such an application?
Are there some API already present?
Thanks in advance
Hi,
I'm not really sure that there's an API for that, but based on the much discussion about bluetooth tethering between two android devices, I suppose the answer is no.
if you get to a beta test fase (even alpha), count me in.
I have:
- Samsung Galaxy TAB 7.0 plus (GT-P6210) with original 3.2 kernel;
- LG Optimus One (P500H) with official 2.3.3 version.
both are rooted, by the way.
Hi All!
Well I am starting to get into app development for Android as well as other things as I progress through school. I downloaded and extracted the adt bundle from developer.android.com and am very confused. I know that every android device out there is not ready or capable to be running Android 4.2.2 as case in point my Galaxy Note 2 running 4.1.1. How do I download and access those other versions of the Android SDK then because I want my apps to be able to be ran on multiple devices. Please if you can offer me some assistance I would gladly appreciate it.

correct me if im wrong, but when you are choosing details about the application you can set the minimum software which is compatible and the highest? So set 2.2 and 4.2? then it covers all versions.. unless I've misunderstood your question
you can open android sdk manager. and you select all version sdk and download the sdk and install it.
After doing some research on this Tablet, I have found out that it has a bcm4330 broadcom wifi chipset. Basically what I want to do is enable monitor mode and packet injecting. Some of the work has been done thanks to these guys who have rewritten the firmware to enable monitor mode http://bcmon.blogspot.com/
And this guy for a good gui [URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2233282"]http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2233282
Can someone help me get it to work on this device? I have installed the aircrack gui app and put the firmware in it. But I don't know how to get the module which is required by the app. So what I am asking for is someone to help me by either telling me how to compile the kernel with the module or else do it for me. I have done some looking around but I have not found a user friendly way to compile the kernel to get this to work. I only got this tablet a week ago and I want to learn about it and use it to it's fullest potential. I have already rooted it.
You can download the aircrack gui app from the second link and the firmware from the first.
Thanks in advance.
Sero 7 Pro Has Working Monitor Mode, Aircrack, and Reaver!
When it comes to handheld penetration testing, I still adore my Nokia N900, but that is starting to change ever since I realized that it was possible to get monitor mode on other more modern devices using various Broadcom Wifi chipsets. I recently managed to get monitor working on my Sero 7 Pro tablet. I have the DoPa v1.1 ROM installed, and I used the bcmon.apk from bcmon.blogspot.com/, which can be downloaded at https://code.google.com/p/bcmon/. Android development is certainly not my primary focus, but after view the post above, and craving a Nexus 7 PwnPad, I couldn't resist giving it a try.

alright first of all don't be angry with my answer when you read it, its the Truth, we cant do much about it, unless there's a supa mega hacker who knows everything about huawei and has taken this thing apart 9000 times. this phone is only single cored phone at 528MHz with only 256MB of ram and only 512MB internal space ( around 150mb for the user to use.). the Specs on this phone are Terrible. im sure this was a great phone of its time and maybe still is to the people who have it, im not saying its not possible to put jelly bean onto this device (nobody would even think of putting android 4.3 onto this...) its just no one will want to take the time to get it to this device . Firefox browser for android is compatible with android 2.2 which your phone has you should be able to get it onto your device. if you want to root your phone you can try this method Here its is compatible with most phones android 2.1-3.3, if it doesn't work i would Google it. if that method i showed you please Tell me so we can help others root theirs
Edit: did a quick search and firefox says it only works on phones with 384 MB of Ram sorry mate
you're help means a lot, thanks!! ...
I didn't get mad. Instead, I laughed like crazy!!
I guess I just need another phone.
Metropcs was bought out by T-Mobile and all metropcs phones will need to operate on the T-Mobile network by 2015.
Can you suggest a phone that will have the features of the new android and internal storage you suggested and be able to run on or be switched over to the T-Mobile signal when the time comes?
I used gingerbreak 1.2 on my phone and busy box to get Root. It works terrific!
Do you have a link for Firefox 5.0? It's old as hell but none of the newer version's will install.
I really appreciate Your help!! It's been VERY enlightening.

i wouldn't know any phones from metropc that would be able to get onto a t-mobile network. as for the firefox i would just search up firefox 5.0 apk.
search for Firefox 5.0 apk at ftp.mozilla.com and old version. com ...
I did manage to install several versions of Firefox and none of them either run or show up in the applications menu. I did install 7zip from the Google play store, which allowed me to login to play. Google. Com and install the newest version, but no luck.
I found the http://FTP.Mozilla.org site with all the old versions of Firefox from version 0.8 (2004) to version 23 for 2013
There is also a site old. Versions. Firefox. Com that I got the first Firefox version 5.0 from but I can't get it to run or create /etc/Firefox folders with Root Explorer.
Currently, I'm running Gingerbreak 1.2 and Busybox Pro with PDANET and Titanium Backup to freeze unused metropcs apps.
I'm sorry you dunno metropcs and their cdma system. That's perfectly okay.
Thank you very much for being here to help me!! - Your knowledge
is absolutely priceless my friend.

there is a way to get it working on your device just have to find the right one maybe a modified version.
a modified version of Firefox will work! ..
I started downloading Ubuntu and I'm still searching for a Firefox that will work on this. I actually found a premium Linux installer on Google play that installs Ubuntu and Debian from sourceforge.net.

I got the complete Linux installer from Google play and got the Ubuntu 12 and debian small to go onto my phone right from sourceforge. Net.
The complete Linux installer has a direct link in their app so there's no guessing if your adding the right thing.
I've been thinking about my spam links and wondered if there was a clean version of gingerbreak 1.2.floating around.??
I'm thinking I need to reroot my phone, from scratch, eh??

Hi, I got myself a smart projector running on Android. Unfortunetely the deveopers installed a really old version and it seems there is no way to update them. When trying to add an account to the system or let alone update the system tells me that it can not communicate with the google servers. So, I am planning to install a new Android version on the smart projector.
Can anyone point me towards a good resource (on the net) that tells me what information I need to have, which files from the current installation I need to keep (i.e. drivers) before installing whoch ROM?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Sounds familiar - having the same problem: My Philips Picopix 4935 is a splendid device but its Android 4 isn't much fun (especially with newer audio/video-formats).
What model do you have?
