Setting up Android on a smart projector - General Questions and Answers

Hi, I got myself a smart projector running on Android. Unfortunetely the deveopers installed a really old version and it seems there is no way to update them. When trying to add an account to the system or let alone update the system tells me that it can not communicate with the google servers. So, I am planning to install a new Android version on the smart projector.
Can anyone point me towards a good resource (on the net) that tells me what information I need to have, which files from the current installation I need to keep (i.e. drivers) before installing whoch ROM?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Sounds familiar - having the same problem: My Philips Picopix 4935 is a splendid device but its Android 4 isn't much fun (especially with newer audio/video-formats).
What model do you have?

[Q] ZenithinkZT180 Android 2.1

Hi,
I've recently purchased the above however it doesn't seem to support a usb dongle. Is there additional software to support or modify the settings, plus I can't download apps from the android market or the apps crash everytime I try to install . I heard that a firmware upgrade is available but not sure where to get this from.
Any advice would be useful

[Q] Haier L3D42D25N smart TV software update

Hello folks,
I am fairly new to the Android OS so please be gentle
I took the plunge and finally got a smart TV from Haier which came with the 2.3.4 Android system. All is fine an cherry in 2.3.4 town as of now (apart from its horribly looking user interface design). But was wondering if i could install the 4.0 update ?
Isnt the android system like any other where you have one default version of the OS that comes from google and then there are variants from the open-source community ? If so then which is the best stable version and where can i find it.
Installation of the 2.3.4 OS is on an MMC that i copied from the technicians that came home to fix the TV so i am fine with a backup and the procedure for the install from an MMC. But i assume that if i download the OS from the internet then the procedure will be a bit different ?
I'll update more of the details (Kernel version etc) when i get home. All this because the manufacture - Haier - does not provide updates online or on its website or anywhere on the web. Appreciate any help.
Thanks in advance.

please help me

Symbol MC7090 Need Android ROM

Hi All,
I have a Symbol/Motorola MC7090 it's currently running Windows Mobile 5.0 with messaging and security feature pack.
I cannot connect via Wifi and I cannot get the barcode scanner to work.
It was used by a developer to test there apps, I was told that it was reset back to factory specs.
Has anyone got a ROM so that I can put Android on this??
Best Regards

I hate to revive this post, but I have the same sort of question. Please let me know if I need to start a new thread. In my case, I have two ROMs from "Zebra" (who seems to have taken over this part of that company). Mine is also the MC40, but the question I have is what do I need to do to essentially convert this from a Windows 7 CE device, to an Android device. I have the drivers for both the Win version and the Android version. I also have 3 of the Android devices and 2 of the Win devices. The model numbers are exactly the same, only the OS is different. Im doing this for the company I work for. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

vanilla Adroid on MediaPad M6 (SCM-W09)

Hey Guys,
I'm curios if any of you tried to install vanilla Android on MediaPad M6 (SCM-W09). I would like to do it but I need help with it. My knowledge is very basic, could you please tell me if there is any working manual which could me guide through this process? What I want to achieve is to have a normal Android with software from hardware producer and if possible working external Huawei keyboard. I bought set: tablet and keyboard.
Best regards
mgolczyk.
Vanilla Android is the Android developed by Google, not containing all the OEM related blobs: it's the base all OEMs use to create a fork matching their devices.
Hi @jwoegerbauer, thank you for replay, what does it mean in details? It means that if I try install vanilla version on this device I can have issue with drivers? I guess that vanilla android has an set of drivers for most popular hardware right? What do you recommend me, abandon the idea and try to install google services with one of the unofficial ways? Do you know if there is a way to install vanilla android on this device?

Is there Android higher Android ROMs on Samsung Galaxy Young S6310?

That's my question basically.... I REALLY want a newer android than Lollipop (the highest android mod I found here). Is there? I found this webpage https://tweakdroid.com/lineage/samsung-galaxy-young-gt-s6310-royss/ that says it's possible, but they don't have the ROM available, so I'm skeptical. I really want a ROM like that to exist because I want to move back to my old phone, as I'm addicted to my current one, but I still want to be able to use WhatsApp and Google Maps.
Thanks for reading, and any help would be greatly appreciated!

The newest android version u can install is 4.4.4 kitkat, the lollipop download links are broken but i think there is a mirror avalible, tweakdroid is the fakest android rom site ever, they say u can install it (which u cant since of it low storage and ram amount) and they dont even give a download link.
This is so fake that when you copy the download link it shows
