Phone after being bricked - Samsung Galaxy Fit GT 5670

if a phone has been bricked and is given to a samsung service center while under warranty they replace it with a new one but what do they exactly do with the bricked phone?
do they somehow revive it using some of their secret mojo's?
or they use it for something else?
thnx

They usually don't give a new phone (unless its a major hardware defect)...they just replace the motherboard, and flash the latest official version available...and return it back...
Typed using a small touchscreen

even if the phone is hard bricked??
changing the motherboard fixes the phone??

The dead phone can be revived by replacing the motherboard, but this isnt done in most cases if they have given you a new phone.
Usually the dead phones are sold to other mobile phone shops or repair centers for salvaging parts..

actually hard bricked is that when the bootloader are removed from the mobile without bootloader the mobile cannot boot and it cannot be revived
but it doesn't mean that the everything is waste
they took the phone take out the important and costly things like camera, processor, ram, speaker, buttons etc.
and make another phone with them

thnx for letting me know guys
one day a guy whose phone was bricked and got it replaced met a guy who got a new phone:
New phone guy: check my new mobile out bro
Brickd phone guy: Hey!!! that's mine!!

Another dead phone

Hi, I have flashed many different roms with no problems on HD2 and Desire S. This evening I thought I would try another Rom (why oh why), so duly wiped and done the usual preparation, but this time it just stuck at HTC for over half an hour, tried rebooting but nothing, tried all the ways on the forum to restart without taking the battery out, in the end I made the stupid mistake of taking the battery out and putting it back in . Well you know the rest, dead phone fried chip I think.
Now my questions are 1) its on contract from Tmobile 6 months ago, the device is obviously S-off so am wondering if I can still get it fixed by them. 2) How much does it cost to have a fried emmc chip replaced if I send it to HTC.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I sent it to HTC without the battery and got a repaired phone free of charge

Hi Dan. Can you tell me the process you went through and is your a contract phone
Can you boot into Recovery or Bootloader? The bootloop can be caused by many reasons, not only eMMC
Hi, can't boot into anything , the phone is just dead, doesn't do anything, no power.
correct me if im wrong but dosnt emmc failure still boot? im not 100% sure thats your problem
Ok, but I tried everything to power up with no luck, I know there was at least 80% battery when I used it, also nothing when I plug it in to the mains.

This is a completely bricked phone (whatever the reason that caused it). But in this case the repair cannot state that it is S-Off. So go ahead for a replacement. There is a way to unbrick it (JTAG), but never heard so far that the HTC repair centres use that - all the problematic devices were just replaced, not repaired. Good luck
Ok, I will have to try and get them to replace it then. Many thanks for your help.

Find a person in your area that owns a JTAG, there is a great chance to fix them.

[Q] HELP!!!! Phone is dying (Warranty issue)

My phone camera has pink and green line....
I have tried on stock rom
ROM 1.28.531.9 / Radio 10.48.9007.00U_10.12.9007.07
ROM 1.63.531.2 / Radio 11.59.3504.00_11.16.3504.20_2
cm9, virtuous but the problem still persist with/without microSD...
wipe data (camera)/cache seemed useless
I think it is hardware failure but Im facing the problem of claiming warranty:
Am I qualify to claim warranty/asking for a replacement if Im the user outside US since my country doesnt have t-mobile at all? If possible, how? Can I ask anyone here to help me to claim warranty by sending it to t-mobile centre?
Thank you.
Is your phone S-off? You have to revert back to complete stock before you send it in for warranty repair, or they might not fix it
S-OFF - S-On Unlocked -Relocked
My question is am i qualify to claim back the warranty by providing phone and IMEI if I ask a rep to help me to claim it? And Im not the first owner of this phone.
Can't hurt to give them a call...

I've seen the pink and green stuff one time. I freaked out and ripped my battery out and put it back in, once it booted the camera was fine and I have yet to see it happen again

Thanks anyway but it didnt fix the problem
@xmc
I recently sent in my Droid 4 and Motorola claimed it water damaged. They refused to repair or replace. Indicator was negative. They said there was corrosion inside on the mainboard and sent it back no charge. Phone has never seen water or moisture as far I know...

thats weird....maybe Motorolas policy? I know that HTC sends you a replacement if your water damaged (however I didnt tell them it was water damaged and I ended up paying $80) because I used to have the regular mytouch 4G and at the time HTC was out of stock so they sent me a Slide.

I think I just hard bricked my Atrix 2

HI Guys,
So I just tried to flash the Supercharged v7 rom from the ICS leak and now my phone wont turn on. When I have the battery in it heats up a lot, so I think it's trying to turn on.
Is there anyway to fix this?
Thanks
Little more info please.
Were you on the ICS leak before you tried to flash it? Or GB?
Also any LED lights on?
Have you tried a different battery? Will it boot into fastboot? Hold both voume buttons down while it's off and then press and hold the power button.
And for future reference you should have posted this on SC7's thread as it involves the ROM. Keeps the forum a little tidier.

Hi Sorry... Here is some more info:
Yeah I have tried getting it to boot while holding down both volume buttons, but nothing happens. I was on super the ICS leak when I tried to flash, and no LED lights turn on.
Would any more info be helpful? Sorry, I am new to the android scene (had an iphone before)
Thanks
Ok, sounds like a hardbrick, however, the only thing I would try is to get your hands on another battery and see if it boots that way. Possibly borrow one from an AT&T store?
If it doesn't boot with a new battery it's probably an expensive paperweight now.
How did you flash it? With our new recovery? You didn't use the bootstrapper APK did you?

I used the new recovery. I will bring it to an AT&T store and try a new battery.
You sure you used boot menu? AND did you try to "flash" it? Or did you do a system restore....
Also did the phone die in the middle of the flash? Or would it not reboot?
also just hard bricked.......

Yeah this is the same brick many of us got. the battery will get hot, don't know why, but take it out or it is toast along with the phone, many people had that so you may need a new one. your best bet to fix is to buy a cheap broken phone on ebay with a working main board, so basically you are buying a main board but cheaper because people don't realize the phone i worth anything when the screen is shattered and the camera is shot. then you can pop the new board in your old phone and you are good to go.

So I bought a cheap Atrix2 (with a broken screen) in working condition along with a T5 torx screwdriver on Ebay, then watched on youtube how to replace the screen of an A2 thus figuring out how to replace the motherboard. I most thank lkrasner for suggesting it.

Try and get it replaced with your warranty that's pretty much your only option with a hard brick

It worked for me  search for this video on youtube "Motorola Atrix 2 Take Apart Repair Guide" And before minute 3 you will know how you can exchange the motherboard your self! Make sure your new motherboard is in working condition and enjoy your Atrix 2.
We have a guide for that guys.

[Q] it's possible a hard brick with stock ROM and no root?

Im just was using my Samsung galaxy note n7000 and when I go to used it again, i saw my cell phone was off and do not respond to anything, do not turn on, no recovery mode and my pc do not recognize. The repair store tell me the cell phone is hard brick, it's that possible?
Sounds like its a hardware failure. If its relatively new u could exchange at the place u bought it or depending on ur carrier try a warrenty exchange. Last resort would be to send it back to manufacturer for service repair. So yes its possible that a device can fail even without flashing anything onto it.

Hardware on hard bricked phones

When a phone is hard bricked does it damage the hardware or just the software or maybe both?

Im pretty sure it only damages the software, but if anyone else is 100% sure, feel free to correct me.
When I decided to flash my phone i have thought about this too. I guessed that a bricked phone would only damage the firmware. So I thought if I ever get bricked, I would get the same phone and keep safe the bricked one for spare parts haha.

^ You could always look into JTAG repair. A lot cheaper than buying a whole new phone (unless the phone was a $20 flip phone). Just an idea for the future.
