The dalvik cache is under 'Advanced', don't miss that step it's important.
About DDKP3, READ THE GUIDE Vishal gave you, read it again, it is similar process.
I suggest not rushing and reading first, i registered here after TWO MONTHS of research and reading topics, and STILL ASKED the questions to make sure.
Play it safe. No body want's a bricked device because of not reading a step or two.
its done guys, it was so easy just following the steps thank u very much, it works like fire so fast and so clean thank you.

Hello Dinosaur ,
I could flash the recovery mentioned in the website. But I see the 10 th point is...
10. To get Root access you MUST go to the next video mentioned above and load a custom ROM.
So that's why I got confused...
Probably you could tell me the ROM you flashed. I bought my mobile from singtel...
And thanks for your reply...

Hi Nimue,

the 10th step is a little misleading. you do have root access by now and you just need to go to the other video to see how to install a rom on your phone.
i checked all the links, they work fine for me.
Yeah once u root your phone successfully, boot up your phone by holding "Home+Power" button and it will go into recovery mode. Then do a nandroid backup and keep this file safely. From there, you are ready to flash to a new rom. Remember to wipe first before flashing. Personally i recommend SuperD. And check that the rom is for old radio and it's 32A

No. You can not flash anything without rooting your phone. No, the ROMs are not rooted, the phone are.
Yeah u have to root your phone first. Just follow the steps on theunlockr.com and you'll be fine. I was like you initially...clueless about rooting and flashing new rom. But once you've tried it, it's actually quite simple. And since HTC Sg wont be updating 2.1 for HTC Magic, all the more we must root our phone.

I am a noob in flashing roms for galaxy note. For all of you stuck with unrootable kk8 for Samsung Galaxy Note just follow
Dr Ketan's guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
or
Chainfire's
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331784
Just follow the instructions, download kj1 firmware, flash with odin exactly as it says
and voila!!!!
Kj1 works flawlessly and it is already root and CWM included!
Amazing
It works waaaay better than kk8 with all telcel bloatware.
I can confirm it works with galaxy note from telcel, sim locked and it is non wipe. All your data will be there! Also no binary counter and symbol changes just as said in their posts!
Special Thanks to Dr. Ketan because he really helps anyone and everyone!
PS: you will only lose the touchwiz message icon in the lower part but you can always make a new shortcut in the upper part.
Good luck!!!
[Update! April 1st]
You can get the lost message icon very easy! (fixed icons touchwiz dock). Just press home to go to apps screen, press menu button, edit, and drag the icon you want to the dock!
Thanks, Noob here too.
I also have a telcel kk8 and to be honest it's overwhelming with so much info.
Did you flashed just the firmware or the whole room? on the list dr.ketan posted the kj1 it's from Poland and it's carrier is PLUS, is that the one you flashed?

Ok don´t get confused.
From Dr. Ketans signature http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=3931450 download the file from the 4th line. He explains that to many users in his post. The fourth line says
"Downgrade to pre-rooted ROM- Flash This with PC Odin"
Download that file, it is a complete rom 557mb with name SGN_XX_OXA_KJ1_FACTORYFS.zip. As said by Dr. Ketan it is the same file that chainfire mentions but the link is down in Chainfire's guide, well at least the last time I tried.
Follow the instructions from the guide! ONLY THE TITLE "When No Any other method works to Root your device, use this"
Just unzip to get the tar. That .tar is the one you choose in PDA. Follow the instructions just verify repartition IS NOT ENABLED! Just the options in red from the guide that I think are correct the first time you load odin.
Images that show all Odin options you need are in Dr. Ketan's post.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
Follow the instructions to flash with Odin and thats it.
Yes! it is as easy as it sounds!
Download file
Follow instructions to flash with odin
Unzip file, Select file as PDA, verify options
Get your phone in download mode and connect
Start
and after 5 mins at most you are downgraded to Rom kj1. You won't lose any data hopefully if everything goes well, that it should if you follow their instructions.
Please thank and if you can donate to Chainfire and Dr. Ketan for their amazing guides and dedication.
Also if you find this useful you could thank this post so I can move it to galaxy note development. I need 10 posts with thanks!
Best of luck and happy flashing!
Thank you my friend, i'm downloading right now, as soon as I'm rooted for sure will donate.
BTW, do you know if the note will stay configured on the samsung dive account after flashing? and the purchased apps from google play will still update?
And again. thanks for replying.

Nothing was lost when I updated mine, everything is working as it was before downgrading. Your Samsung account an google play will work flawlessly.
Really it sounds too easy and good to be true..... but it is!
The only thing I guess you could lose, is the possibility of updating OTA. But why would you want to do that and return to a bloated old rom?

Just to let you know, as Dr. Ketan posted sometime, you wont loose anything unless you flash a rom that contains data.img inside the tar file. If it has that file it will erase all your data, if it doesn´t, it will stay the way it is. KK1 rom from Dr. Ketans signature does not contain this file, so it does not delete anything.
one question

Don´t worry, that is common for what I´ve read and it can be fixed easily.
I did not have this problem but, I´ve read you could go into recovery and then wipe cache.
If you still get an error do the same for data.
BE SURE TO MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR DATA AND APPS as always.
Maybe a Nandroid Backup before doing it also.
Try it and let us know.
If you are unsure, I am certain that I read it in the same thread I referred from Dr. Ketan. Give it a try.
If you still get the error, maybe you missed something.

Hello
I need your help.. im trying to root my SGN but i cant find the guide that you mentioned....""""Follow the instructions from the guide! ONLY THE TITLE "When No Any other method works to Root your device, use this"""
could you tell me where is the guide?
First Thanks to all of you for supporting I9003, and for helping us noobs
I have th GT-i9003 from like a year, great phone. it came with the LUBKPE stock firmware from entel in chile, and i updated it to XXKPQ following the tutorials here in XDA, also updated the kernel to [email protected] #15, i've got root cwm and a tweaks icon.
The problem is that like 2 weeks ago i installed a program called prey anti theft, after that when i try to enter CWM it just stays in a black screen same for tweaks icon, no problem with root.
So i decided to reflash my phone to get everything working fine. After a lot of reading decided to install the stock DDFL2 thats claimed to be the most stable stock rom for this phone.
1.-My first question is, i have read that i could screw up my emei doing this becouse a band incompatibility with this stock firmware (indian) and the bands used in my country (chile) is this true?? dont know if a got it wrong but thats what i understand of it.
2.-Also i read about making a backup of folders of the phone so in case of something like that happens i could recover it. So how i do this and what i need to backup??
3.- Third i read about bam kernel being better for stock firmwares, and [email protected] for customs is this true?
4.- when reflashing in the steps i read "flash KPE+pit twice", but in another forum i read of flashing KPE+pit and after that just flashing KPE (without pit) which one is the way to do it??
5.- and last, the wipe cache, clear cache and dalvik cache is done after the first boot, before i adjust my phone parameters?,or after that?, or before it first boot?? the first time id never did this but is said to be useful.
Thanks for taking the time to read my post and for ur replys.
PD: and for rooting ddfl2 is best bagaria? ddfl2-cfroot? cfroot.apk? superoneclick? Thanks!

1)As far as I know ddlf2 is universal stock rom.. it wont screw up ur imei.. Bt S.. It has been designed for indian phns.. U might lost local language supprt/app etc on ur fone.. if u face any prblms, u can easily revert back to original rom using nandroid backup..
2)Jst root ur phone with cfroot(which installs cwm as well) using odin.. Then go to recovery mode >backup & restore>nandroid backup
3)I don no vch kernel is better.. Its purely depends upon ur usage/preference.. So try every kernel on ur phone atleat one week then compare the petformance.
4) I suggest flashing kpe with 4 files twice.. it will clean off ur phone..
5) can do it whenever u wnt..

Since you are from Chile, you need the modem for your country.
Sent from my GT-I9003 using xda app-developers app
Thanks for ur replyes they really helped me out.
That means that after i flash the DDFL2 rom i have to flash the Modem.tar.md5 file of the xxKPE, and with this i activate the bands of my country?
And also i have read that people with the SCL version of the phone dont need to do this, but the ones with the L version do. Thats real and how i know wich version i have? i have read of a guy that claims that his L version phone transformed into SCL... dont really know what this means.
Thanks.

What recovery are you using? Even if you wiped the phone you should still have it running. All you need to do is reboot in recovery mode. Hard to tell you how as I dunno what the phone is.
Before that you'll need to download your stock firmware and put it on the root directory of your SD card if you have one, so that once in recovery you'll actually have something to flash.
If the phone doesn't have a SD slot, then you'll need to use a recovery tool on your PC to flash it.
Right now shut the phone down, remove the battery, find some guides specific about your phone, and read them carefully. There's a reason why we're using recoveries. First thing you should have done is to backup your stock firmware somewhere on your computer or on the cloud, and make sure you knew how to use it if something like that was to happen... Little late for that now.
When you'll know what to do, just mind that you still have enough battery to flash the stock ROM. Come back to ask help here if there's something you don't understand. Good luck!

No problem. Just install this partition manager free. It is perfectly adapted for windows 8. And you are offered a variety of options which can swap/merge/separate new partitions. With a very easy-to-understand instructions, everything is perfect!

I don't know how to flash my stock rom. Please refer me to a forum containing tutorial about Flash a Rom.....
Well that's the kick, is it? Most of what I found through a quick search was in foreign language... I do english, french, and a little spanish, but that's it...
I did find THIS quite easily though... My bet is, start from there to find infos... That's all I can do right now to help you, sorry!

What telephone, model, do you have? On the model of vehicle find a theme. All must be written up there.
i have been looking for the repair/backup of my root on my Cherry Mobile Blaze 2.0 cause i accidentally full unrooted it using SuperSU application, and then i found this site. and i feel so lucky that it has the most normal/simple tutorial on how to root my device again . and when i download the file about 400++mb, it only says Unknown Network Error, and i tried it for about 4 times. the picture is attached on this thread.
Note : my network is all well, honestly i just downloaded other file from google drive too, and everything is perfect.. so i thnk its not the net.
This is what i want to download .. (forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2746658) <-- remove parenthesis
PLEASE HELP ME... I NEED TO DOWNLOAD IT AND ROOT MY PHONE AGAIN..
FOLLOW-UP QUESTION
is it possible to reroot my phone from this procedure.
Well even if you've lost root on your current ROM, that doesn't matter as long as you have a custom recovery like CWM. If you know how then just flash that ROM, but being as you have no device specific forum you should post your question in the thread you linked me.
If you didn't understand any of that, then follow this guide HERE. Good luck.
the one you link to me is for CM Flame 2.0, my unit is Blaze 2.0, is that the same ?
im sorry for being noob but i dont know have any familiarity on the term ur giving me . you mean if i have my CWM on my Recovery mode .. i can just click that and then *bang* im rooted again with my system being reset ?
Thanks for your time and effort on helping me ! i'll expect a reply. TY

The zip is just a generic superSU update zip. It sounds like you have a recovery in which to flash the superSU zip anyway, so yes you may just be able to follow that guide. It won't break anything if it doesn't work though. If you need any further help then you should post in the Android Q&A section. Good luck
sir, i just found out that i have what u called CWM in recovery mode. does it help.

I can't give you technical help (read the 2 stickies), although I'll answer you once and say yes it helps: I highly recommend you read up on stuff abour custom recoveries, kernels, etc. To gain better understanding. I've given you a guide to follow HERE and directed you to the correct place to post further questions HERE. If you are still in doubt despite reading carefully through the first link then you should post in the second link where there are many more helpful members who may even have experience with your exact device.
