Which is the best Desire? Z or HD?

am now using wildfire and i want to upgrade to a better phone since the wildfire resolution was really low. am confused btw Z and HD. i want one with fairly good battery and which is more comfortable to hold and use and also carry around
HD - huge size and lesser battery
Z - heavy
may be i should get the old desire?
i also had galaxy S in mind, but its out of stock. however a 3 months used one is available but without warranty
i want to buy a new mobile really fast as i have already sold my wildfire. please guide me guys

Had both and both are great phones... The HD is slightly more powerful with the added RAM so the browser will work quicker and applications will load faster, but also the Z is a great phone, lovely S-LCD screen and is great if you like a qwerty

I prefer the Desire Z, its like the G2 and its style and the HD is big like the EVO but it isnt that cracked up to what they make it to be.

DHD seems to have loads of bugs, my girlfriend got one and it ain't got nothing on my desire

Time for new Android Phone! But which?

Hello,
My HTC Touch Cruise which I have used for tooo long, is slowly dying...
So, I'm looking for a new phone, my requirements being:
->Android
->Sim card (not sim-less! I regularly use 3-4 simcards travelling between countries)
->HTC (Sorry Samsung!)
Having done some research I have noticed that the main players are:
->HTC Sensation
->HTC Desire HD
Sensation, being a newer model, has higher specifications.
I would be grateful for help with some of my doubts:
1)Are there any other HTC models worth consideration?
2)Are you aware of any new models/developments worth waiting for (I don't mind waiting a month or two), like e.g. new Android series?
3)Are there any significant issues suggesting that getting HTC Sensation would NOT be a good idea?
4)Is there any difference between HTC Sensation models in UK and US?

You kiddin' right? Comparing Sensation to Desire HD?
Sensation belong to the new generation with dual core processor while Desire HD still belongs to the old single core generation.
The only problem with Sensation for being the newest flagship model is usual...the price...
If you can afford it, there is nothing which can beat Sensation.

Well, you could wait until HTC releases even better phones. I've got desire HD and it's a good phone, but sensation is much better (and worth more also). Of coure I haven't tested sensation but the specs says it all.

The Sensation is a much better choice than the Desire HD. If you are still interested in the older generation you should really look into the Incredible S2 as specs wise its identical to the Desire HD but has a better screen and much improved battery life. Also the Incredible 2 just received its root yesterday .

If you can afford it, get the Sensation. A dual-coure HTC phone with 1080p video recording, dual cameras and a qHD screen is an unbeatable combo I haven't used one yet, but it looks amazing.
I have the Desire HD and I love it, I upgraded from a BB Bold a few months ago.. If the Sensation was out then I would have bought it. It is definitely the more affordable option since it is older. Also, if you can do without the FF camera and super high resolution screen ( the one on the DHD is still good), then get the HD. There are several Sense 3.0 builds for the DHD out now (if you are willing to root the phone), so there really isnt a reason to buy the Sensation just for the software. I am running Virtuous Unity ROM with a leaked official build of Sense 3.0 scaled down for 800x480 sized screens and I have to say it is the fasted and most stable software I have ever used. But if you want the top of the line at the moment, go with the Sensation.

What I meant and what the others are trying to say :
Beside being new and having better specs especially the dual-cored processor, HTC Sensation is of cource more expensive.
I just feel it is a bit unfair to compare Desire HD with the Sensation, HD is a very good unit but Sensation is simply better...again with one note in mind that Sensation is more expensive.
How much are you willing to spend honestly?
HTC phone recommendations:
- Desire (cheapest)
- Desire S or Desire HD (somewhere in the middle)
- Sensation (most expensive)

I agree with "aaa" and I add to the list LG dual, with new processor.

I have HTC Desire and really want to have Desire S. I have to pay something like 150$ extra to get my old replaced and get Desire S. Tell me is it worth it or should I get Incredible S. What improvements it got from Desire? is it worth the Money?
1) how is Speaker sound compared to Desire?
2) Camera compared to Desire?
3) Performance compared to Desire?
4) is teh Desire S SLCD display better than the Desire SLCD display?
I know development support is less but I hope same tweaks of Desire work on Desire S too..

i think its worth it as you get a faster cpu,gpu, more RAM,better camera,better multi touch,more ROM

the development is much better now there are many ports from the DHD
if you want a larger screen you can get the IS

1. Speaker is clearer and more defined.
2. Camera is definately better at its definition, auto-focus, and its colour adjustment.
3. Multitasking is barely noticable.
4. I know they are both S-LCD, but when I looked at my Desire vs the Desire S, I can't help but feel the screen on the Desire S looks more defined and crisp.
I had the Desire (Janurary 2011) I've only just recently upgraded to the Desire S and I would highly recommend the upgrade, you can actually leave the house in the morning and not feel as though your going to be scraping for that last bit of battery on your trip home at the end of the day.
Most tasks the Desire S chops through with great performance, and minimal battery usage.
The one negative is the GPS, it doesn't seem to lock on as fast as I would like it to, although this issue can be rectified by using apps.
Definately do it! You won't regret it.

some people do face this issue but the majority don't
but in case your device hangs when installing apps from the market don't pull the battery instead press the power+vol up+vol down button this should prevent damaging the mmc chip

[Q] Arr HTC

GOD DAMN IT! The HTC has given me drugs called "HTC Sense" and "Beats Audio"
I am using my Desire Z rooted running on sense 3.5 OCed to 1.5 GHz
Then now the HTC has released the HTC Sensation XL
I want the Rezound at first, but unfortunately I live in HK and Rezound in a CDMA phone available in the US (DAMN Verizon they took rezound from my area)
Now I can't decide whether I should I change my device from desire z to sensation xl
The XL do have an appealing large monitor and I want one with a large monitor, but the screen res is the same as the DZ(darn disappointing )
The processor is preset at 1.5 GHz in the xl but I can OC to 1.5 GHz on my DZ too(after buffing with chain fire 3D same quadrant score as xl or even higher)
The second thing that disappointed me is the SD Card slot
I know I don't use much storage space (I only used 3GB on my micro sd with loads music and gameloft game data packs)but without a sd card slot, the sensation xl don't sound appealing enough = =
Well the battery seemed a bit blarger in xl (1600MaH) and I am pretty confident about the battery life on xl (single core)
Well so far I think that the dz is really a great phone with a freaking keyboard XD
but the xl can compensate with the large screen though
The main reason I wanted to upgrade is becuz of the RAM, though from 512MB to 768MB isn't much, but because unlike the sensation and XE, the xl only have a single core, with uses less ram as only one unit of GPU need the ram supply(I heard that the XE have only 200MB~ after boot, and xl have 300MB~)
You may ask why not XE? Becuz I don't need dual core(a bit too much for me and the battery life seems a bit at a disadvantage) and I want sense 3.5(tell me if the XE gets an update with sense 3.5) and thats all
I hope someone can tell me
1.should I change, if no, what would you recommend
2.whether XE will have sense 3.5
3.Is the SLCD Monitor on sensation xl still sharp or blurry?

get the sensation xe, it does not have as larger screen but it has sense 3.5 on custom ROM, dual core. XL is only single core. also xe has more storage as it can have up to 32GB sd card whereas xl is non-expandable

Wait. Don't get the sensation. Wait for the new phones coming out, or maybe the vivid.

Yep, the sensation's and xe's dual core are both 1st gen so the code are not very well developed yet.
BTW, the vivid is only available in the US if I am not wrong, so there's no vivid in hk, sad but true LOL
Well I think I'll wait for HTC edge's release and continue playing with my DZ for a moment

Need Evita Community Help ( Leaving my fate in your hands )

Okay I know I've only been here with you Evita users for what 6 months and I have developed a few roms ( kickdroid series ) and made a few modpacks... And everyone seems to enjoy my work from what I see and I thank all of you for your time and support..... but it's time for me to move on to a device that will get kitkat with sense 5.5 or whatever sense version comes with it, I will still own this phone and develop for it just need a new device... But here is my issue, I have a few phones I've been wanting but I'm not sure which one to choose because there are features that attract me to wanting them all but I can on choose one.... so I need your guys help on choosing
1. HTC Droid DNA - 5" 1080p display with global capabilities ( Gsm/Cdma ), 8mp rear camera, 2mp front facing camera, with 2gigs of ram.
Advantages - and just recieved sense 5 4.2.2 and according too Football it will reciece kitkat too...
Disadvantages - Only issue is the charge flap falls off and when it comes to Verizon they have very secured bootloaders
2. HTC One ( gsm version ) - 4.7" 1080p display, 2gigs of ram, 4UP camera, zoe, BoomSound, and snapdragon 600 processor 4 cores...
Advantages - is receiving kitkat of course......
Disadvantages - but I've seen drop test with this phone and the metal around the speakers fall of and I usually drop my phone off surfaces on occasion and don't want to ruin a expensive piece of equipment..
3. HTC One Mini - 4.3" 720p display. 1gb L3 ram, dual core, BoomSound, zoe, 4UP Camera, Snapdragon 400 processor
Advantages - First of all I have used this phone and love the feel of it in my hands, and according to football it will recieve kitkat......
Disadvantages - But I'm not a person who likes to go from a bigger screen to a smaller screen. And not only that it feels like it's just a slightly update HTC ONE XL. And same issues as I would have with the HTC ONE
4. HTC Desire 600 by VM - have played with the phone and kinda like it but seems as specs have degraded with HTC new sense 5 devices, even know it contains all the features found on the HTC ONE..
Advantages - Cheaper to buy, Has all features on the HTC One Minus Camera And processor and ram
Disadvantages - VM ( sprint network ), low development
5. HTC One Max .... Just put it this way it's a beast with a 5.9 1080p display, Amazing Battery ,
Advantages - huge phone and the bigger the better for me , will recieve latest OTAs , amAzing battery.
Disadvantages - no major change from the HTC One except for size and battery.
Please help me everyone. Will be appreciated.

Or sometimes you pour so much into making the right decision, assuming your getting the best, and the day after you buy it something new is announced! Just keep an eye on press releases from HTC.

The Mini and the Max are oddball mid-year releases, that are almost certain to be relegated to obscurity, low sales, and poor community support. Like the One X+, they seem like devices just meant to fill the gap in the schedule until the release of the next "real" phone (M8).
The One is a great phone. But we are closer to the release of the M8 than the previous generation. So I agree with the above votes to wait for the next wave. Even more so with the DNA.

I'd go with an HTC one developer edition. I mean you can wait for the m8 but as far as I have seen it is a small upgrade to the HTC one. When considering, I would look into camera. The one xl witch I own has a great camera. The one witch I also own has a downgraded camera. Yea it has zoe but you can get that on the one xl with no trouble. I don't do a lot with cdma so I don't know about how development is for verizon or sprint.

The HTC One doesn't have a downgraded camera. Just because it has a lower count of megapixels doesn't mean it's worse. It uses different technology that doesn't require a huge amount of pixels to create a good image.
