the thread title does say something different. if you unlocked with htcdev you propably are not s-off.
if you are s-off, flashing the new radio is really simple and safe i think.

Oops s-on I mean. Lemme change the titlw

Well I did it quite a few times and nothing bad happend yet, although I can't guarantee that it will be the same in your case.
But as long as you are unlocked with HTCDEV you need to flash the boot.img everytime you install a new ROM, except that, everything is the same.

I desperately need this info too. My Desire S keeps rebooting after flashing ICS and I've read somewhere that it could be outdated radio that it's causing it.
Please let us know how you flash radio with S-ON.

[Q] Is it possible to completly remove Revolutionary from my phone?

I've checked every possible tag in my mind about this and couldn't find one for Sensation.
Is it possible to revet back to the original state before the Revolutionary. Is it possible to completely uninstall the Revolutionary from my phone?
I'm not talking about the s-off -> s-on
I'm talking about returning the phones software to its original state.
Like it is never installed in the first place.
Thank you.
It's funny because last weekend I wanted to do exactly the same thing.
What I learnt was to go from S-OFF back to S-ON can be quite fiddly and tricky, abd if you mess it up rub the risk of bricking your phone.
In order to get the stock Rom, here is the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074559
Now it's just a case of finding which one you are, and your ril and radio.
Good luck
Thank you for your answer. But this is not what I want I can do this already but when I check the bootloader I see the pink "Locked" and it tells me that Revolutionary is still there.
I can go to S-On without any trouble that is not what I am asking.
What I am asking is to be able to get rid of every little bit of coding about the Revolutionary and return my phone to its original bootloader software.
If is says locked then ur good since that's what it said when you bought the phone.

When I get my phone there wasn't such writing. It is the product of Revolutionary.
So it is still there. I want to be able to get rid of it.
I'm not asking this about the warranty purposes. I'm asking this because I've realized that after using Revolutionary I can't install any app from market via wireless no matter what I did. Strangely it is fine to surf and download via mobile.
I know this because this is the Second Sensation I've faced having this problem and I remember some user Leviathan(maybe wrong?) talking about wifi dieing after Revolutionary.
So what I need is to get rid of it and be able to install original bootloader(maybe bootloader is not the right term here I don't know).

Removing stock apps

Hi,
I was wondering how to remove the apps that come with the phone on vodafone as i recently changed to 3 or can i flash the 3 ruu to my phone? Thanks
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App
You could flash the Sense 3.0 ROM before the Vodafone upgrade
You may need to create a GoldCard to be able to flash it (if you have a different CID).
But in order to remove any stock apps, you have to be S-Off or HTCdev unlock your phone and either get root on your phone or install a custom pre-rooted ROM.
I want to get rid of the vodafone ones and install the 3 ones how do i do this?

You need to install another HTC RUU (e.g. the European) and you'll be fine.
Is your DS also SIM locked? If yes, you may need to unlock it afterwards.

So can i install the 3 ruu on my phone? If i download it and install it and what is a goldcard?
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App
See this post here on how to create a goldcard. The goldgard is needed in order to bypass the CID check of the official RUU (or to "fool" the CID check). And then you'll be able to run the RUU you want

deadphone..... Really?
Do you know why nobody's answering your questions? Because they indicate that you haven't done any reading whatsoever, and you're too eager to jump into stuff you haven't the slightest clue about. I suggest you read up about android in general, how stuff works on this device in particular, read about bricks that have been made off perfectly good phones because of reckless flashing and following the advice of other novices, who have no idea what they're suggesting... And when you think you're done reading, and know everything there is to know,..... read some more!
I only say this because you and your very helpful "guide" friend here are dillydallying with things like RUU, goldcard, CID hacks, etc.... which is more advanced stuff than you're equipped to handle currently, and this thread looks like a disaster waiting to happen.
Do you know what trouble an incompatible RUU can get you into, if you don't use it correctly? Just S-off your phone and flash a custom ROM man... there are so many stock, pre-rooted ROMs available!
Wait. Patience. Read. Tutorials. Guides. Those are what you should be looking for...........not RUU, Goldcard, CID, Misc_version. You're not there yet.

Nothing.
If you haven't figured it out even now...go ahead, make a Goldcard, and flash a 3 RUU on a Vodafone branded phone. See where that gets you. Do you think CID is the only thing an RUU checks when upgrading a ROM?
I'm sorry if I offended you... maybe you could try out what you just suggested to that guy on your own phone and educate me... I seem to have gotten my concepts wrong.

Have to agree with you there, this RUU thing is very dangerous if not handled properly. I've already had an issue flashing the wron RUU, which resulted in my bootloader saying *****Security Warning***** and also i became S-off! Had to take it to HTC, but fortunately they didn't make an issue, and replaced my phone. Have stayed away from RUUs ever since. From what i have read, just making a goldcard is not enough... you need to change Misc_version too, or something like that.
How do i s-off my phone then? Hboot 2.00.0002 and every guide i read says that i have to downgrade is there a way around this? I know you have just said read up but i cant find any guides that say how to s off with my hboot without downgrading

Your post started with "How to remove stock apps"
You never provided any details about your phone... I didn't know you were still s-on!! Why didn't you mention that anywhere?
i didn't think it would be relevant at the time, now i know this next time i start a new topic i will include details about my phone. Anyway, the details for my phone are:
hboot 2.00.0002 s-off unlocked with htcdev so what can i do now?
I dont know anything about s-off because i dont have a htc but i do know when you are rooted you can use es file explorer or root explorer to delete apps.In es settings set system as read/write and then navigate to /system/app and delete any apk you want but dont get carried away because you can mess your phone up.Just delete the pre-installed apps you dont want.

First of all I thought that this is a community where everyone in here is supposed to help each other and not to start flaming or using irony to say to someone that he may be wrong.
We weren't all born to be experts or geniuses like you may be so you could be just a little bit polite when saying to someone that "hey you are wrong because from my experience you need to do this or that".
I'm new in the Android platform since I've been an android user for only 1,5 year but I believe I managed to play a bit with it, since for the last 7 months I'm constantly "messing" with my old devices.
And no I didn't get offended, I just don't like to see great communities, as XDA, lose their good name / status.
No hard feelings though.
The S-OFF or HTCdev unlock, flashing a custom recovery and installing a custom ROM may be the "easiest" way to do it, but what if the user didn't want to have a custom rom?
As for me trying the suggested method on my DS, well that's what I did in November to my DS, before I decided to go with a custom rom in January.
My DS, even though I got it from a Greek mobile operator (COTE), it was branded (with CID: T-MOBN14) but without any 3rd party apps. Other friends in Greece with DS have a CID: HTC__001 or another that I don't remember it atm but it stands for HTC_ELL (Greece).
After reading the 6th post of this thread, I simply did what you can see on the posts #286 & 288 in this thread.
I don't know if I got lucky or not but my DS worked flawlessly until the 1st week of January when I decided to unlock it using HTCdev, flash 4ext recovery and install CoreDroid.
Based on what I did, I suggested to deadphone99 to go with the Goldcard solution.
Anyway, I'm sorry if I just got lucky and my suggestion may caused deadphone99 to get a dead phone

Stock Rom Odex

Hi
Does anybody know where i can find One S (S4) odex stock roms for tmobile. Basically i can't get ota updates and i think my problem is that my current stock rom is deodex.
none of the develops in the One S community wants to make it.. dont know why....
the closest u get is the nandroid in the dev section.. thats what im running now...
Why not run a RUU from the Shipped ROMs thread in development section
I'd like it too actually. I tried flashing stock recovery and relocking my bootloader, but out still said tampered and still couldn't flash an ruu... I'm hoping getting all stock could help with that.
There are no RUU's for tmobile uk sadly, so i need to super cid my phone to get the international version. Also i dont know how to super cid
I found another version of the RUU for TMOUS so I'll try that in the near future and see what happens.
Because the cramp just won't go away!
Does anybody have a stock nandroid for tmobile UK?
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
If you read the posts it says there isn't one. Just to verify I looked and I didn't see one either.
Also, after going into fastboot and flashing stock recovery I did
Code:
fastboot OEM lock
My phone rebooted I did it again and flashed the latest RUU for my phone which was TMOUS 1.84 or something like that.
That seemed to work. Now running android 4.0.4.

I'm just curious are you from UK or USA. I supercid my phone yesterday and tried flashing three different ruu's but none of them worked. But then again my bootloader is unlocked so I'm not sure whether locking it will help.

I'm from us, but please don't hate me i didn't decide to be birthed here
I'm assuming your a tmobile UK user due to your post. I'm not really familiar as to what to do with your situation as I've never dealt with UK RUU Issues. I would assume you probably can't use any of the RUUs from anywhere else. You would think T-Mobile would have an international one out. I would probably not risk damaging your device using other carriers unless someone tells you it works. I don't see why trying a tmous RUU would harm you though. There are two versions of it out a 1.54 and 1.84 I believe. I don't know what effect itll have on your phone though so don't blame me if it bricks if you try.
Ive got a huge problem I supercid my phone last night and after that I couldn't call or text anyone as well as recieve. I even unsupercid my phone and back to the original HTC__001 cid. So can anyone give me a solution. Btw I relocked my bootloader and ran the European RUU and it worked
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
Maybe try to run the RUU again? Or a factory reset.

No no this happened due to me trying to super cid. I just did the ruu right now. I think I need to flash a radio but not sure how to
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
That's possible I suppose. Here is how.
After flashing your device properly, start it up and let everything run a few minutes so the ROM can get settled in, I assume you've done that already.
Next you download the radio image you need, I'm not sure which it is I don't know what your running.
Then reboot to fast boot.
Enter
Code:
fastboot flash radio radio.IMG
Then reboot your phone with
Code:
fastboot reboot
Or you can do it through a menu on the device.
Then you should have your radio set.
Someone please correct if anything is wrong.

[Q] HTC One X AT&T out of options

Hello, I recently received an AT&T One X and the very first thing I did with it was try to root it and all that fun stuff. After a long adventure I couldn't get the HBOOT to upgrade so I had changed the CID to HTC__001 from cws_001 (I couldn't find this CID anywhere, but I swear that's what it said) and then the bootloader was re-locked. There is no OS, there is no recovery, I've tried 10 RUU's from Asia WWE to the UK RUU's and than all the AT&T ones I can find.
Most fastboot commands come back with a "Too many Links" error which I assume is from the bootloader being locked, and I cant change the bootloader's status because the bin file I got is for the supercid.
Please help me, I am usually quite proficient with this type of stuff but I really buried myself in a hole.
Why were you trying to upgrade your hboot..? Anyways.. What hboot do you have now? Is your Cid still htc__001?

Flash a stock-based ICS rom and then S-OFF, then you can change your cid, or whattever you need to do
Doesn't necessarily need to be ics but yeah you get the idea. After s-off then you can ruu to update your hboot and anything else that gets updates. Bear in mind that on aosp ROMs the touchscreen won't work after you upgrade until you downgrade the touchscreen firmware.

Don't you still need supercid to s-off? Or is that no longer a requirement?

Thank you for the replies, the link to the Hex editing of the CID saved me. I knew that's where the CID was located but I didn't know you could dd it out of the system. By the way, I have no earthly clue on how to S-OFF the One X so I will probably try to look harder for that. I'm probably going to either RUU to where I was, I believe 2.2 or put on.. some rom that sounds good. Any favorites? Y'all say I can flash ICS to it if I just flash the boot.img first right? No, the reason you need S-OFF for MaximusHD is because that ROM requires a leaked unsigned firmware, which you can only flash if you're S-OFF.

Absolutely right.
And how to remove the red warning text you can find here.
Keep in mind that once you're s-off and want to return to s-on (warranty, whatever...) you'll need to reflash any stock bootloader. Else you'll definitely brick your phone. Best thing is to run any RUU before you set s-on flag on your phone then. It'll automatically restore the stock bootloader that comes with it.
S-off to install Maximus then S-on for final step. It's Ok.

I must do S-on because I get boot loops. Flashed Temporary radio 1.13 because it restarted auto.

So it's very unstable with s-off?
I mean if I'm going to have WiFi trouble and radio and bootloops I guess is better with s-on?

Try S-off first. Do it right way.
Then if you can't do anything to get it running or get boot loops, you should try S-on.
I feel it's perfect after 2 day and nothing worry about that.. Flash Temporary-Radio-Installer-V4 if your phone auto restart.

I highly suggest AGAINST going S-ON with Maximus.
If you S-ON, you cannot flash an RUU to lower your hboot back down to hboot 2.15. This means you will be unable to revert back to an older rom or to use the current CM roms.
S-ON while on HBOOT 2.16 is a dead-end and you're forcing yourself to be on either Maximus or another rom that is compatible with 2.16 like Magio. Until someone figures out how to S-OFF while on hboot 2.16, you're stuck with it.
If you're S-OFF, installed Maximus, and you're experiencing bootloop problems and radio problems. Please look into the rcdata partition fix that me and many other HTC One S users were experiencing. Don't S-ON until you give this a try.

you're right but I don't see any problem when I try the rcdata fix.
b) Type "mount" to see a list of mounts. I saw that the data block (p35) was being mounted again in /sdcard, which should be (p36). Checking /etc/fstab shows that the /sdcard was commented out!
I can do S-Off with hboot 2.16.
flashed with s-on
I am very new to Android, having been converted from iOS. I had extensive experience with jailbreaking and all that.. flashing Windows Mobile with my HTC TyTn as well.
After having my One for almost 3 months I decided to root it and explore other ROMs. Rooting wasn't an issue and I flashed MaxiumusHD 14 which was replaced within 2 weeks with version 20. Everything went well and I've got battery life that certainly exceeds, by a long shot, versus stock battery consumption rate. (Juice Defender and Profile Scheduler definitely help there too). Original stock ROM consumed a lot of power with the HTCCheckIn service. Noticed that here in Brazil I believe my battery life is worse than when I purchased the phone in Canada, I believe it's due to poor service coverage areas (weak data signals, in particular).
As I learn more, I realize that I don't believe that any of the steps I performed to root and install Clockwork involved making S-OFF active. My bootloader shows S-ON. ROM works fine and I didn't get any errors in flashing. How is that possible?
Am I missing something obvious here?
Should I do moonshine S-OFF and flash again?
I've frozen the updater using Titanium Backup (purchased that, it's great) so that I don't keep getting pestered to update to Maximus 21. I just flashed 20! (and I see no issues and nothing in the change log seems to be a huge selling point).
Thanks for the assistance with this newbie.

I would post this question again in the HTC One section, this is the HTC One S section. They would most likely be able to help you.
