Hi, folks
These are tips for improving the battery life of your SGS2 :
1.Set the wallpaper , with dark or black images
Use autobrightness or set the brightness to 10%
2.When you are not using data , please turn it off . Using 3G data will suck lots of juice !!
On the other hand Wifi doesn't suck so much juice
Now the next steps are the most important
3.Please do keep charging between very short intervals ,
Let the battery charge drop to 5-10% then charge till it reaches 100% , this will considerably , increase your battery life .
4.Do not let your phone keep charging even after it reaches 100%.
This will damage the battery .
Actually when your phone shows that it has been fully charged (100%),it has only been charged for 95% , so plug in for a few more minutes ,for some extra juice .
5.Do not install lots and lots of unused and useless apps ,as they will not only occupy memory , but will also suck the juice out of your phone !!
6.Delete unused widgets from home screen
7.Close unwanted apps running in the background.
Go to task manager and press the ,'clear memory' button frequently .
8.Do not use the charger of other mobile phones , even if they have the same pin ,as this will slowly damage the battery
9.Use only original Samsung battery made for your SGS2 , duplicate or other battery will not only be waste of money , but will also damage your phone !!
10.Sugesstion are welcome , you can posted it , so that i can add it !!
11.If you know a few extra tips , please post it or PM me
12.If you like this tread please rate it !!
13.Please press the thanks button , if you like this post and if i helped increase the battery life of your SGS2
These things helped me improve the battery life of my SGS2 ,I hope it also help you considerably increase the battery life of your SGS2 too
Cheers ,

Hello all i have seen those threads about battery life but i beleive i have the worst..!
My battery last from fully charged condition in about 10 minutes of reading rss news!
It is rubbish it is also this shi* after flash. . .
anyone has a nice solution? or knows why is this happening?
i am a bit afraid of bying a new battery, because this may continue.
I dont know why vox is draining so much.
Second problem is that i cant get any micro sd wo work on it...!
It is really awfull cause vox has very little flash memory...
Please Give as many advices as you can i would be really gratefull!
Friendly Akuma.
Edit: sometime it hard shut down and then gives me false baterry indicate...
I was experimenting with battery life since mine was quickly falling down from 100 to around 75-80% within 15-30 minutes without much using the phone. My observations are as under:
1) Radio 4.1.13.47 seems to be the best in terms of battery use and call quality.
2) while charging I noticed the progress bar under "Power management" menu in settings. What I found is it suddenly shot to 100% (full) from around 80-85 clearly indiacting false charge.
3) To combat this I used my vox for sometime and it quickly dropped below 80% and then I again put it to charge. This time it charged normally for say upto 90-95% and again jumped to 100%
4) I again used it to drop the charge below90% and recharged.
5) This was continued till actually the battery was charged to 100% in normal spped. The experiment took some time.
6) Now I observe that the battery is much much stable and doesn't drain quickly and behaves like a normal battery should do.
7) Regarding battery showing inflated level after hard shut down, I think this is a problem with vox (or windows mobile?) and I also suffer from this.
Anyway you can try my method for battery charging and report any improvement if you find.
many thanks i will do some testing and try this re-charging method and i'll post my results!
One more thing I observed - Operamini 4.1/4.2beta consumes huge power - almost 1% gone every 2-3 minutes. Better if ucweb is used. I have just downloaded ucweb 6.1 for smartphones (English ver) and testing. Hope Ucweb will help to conserve battery better.
If you wish to test, link below.
http://forum.ucweb.com/viewthread.php?tid=226&extra=page=1
and some other things are that if you have windiows update automatic it runs as a process and using your ram.
i found out that rss is too
anyway you can check out your processes and some disable automatic update for them to stop running.
i hard reset and it got better i will do some further testing with you battery trick.
Don't try Ucweb for smartphone. The device is freezing.
Hi all . Lets share everyone the experience about baterry life on each rom, custom rom and what to do for improving the problems with battery . Of course , maybe you will have suggestions about apps or tunning to improve battery life .
For begining i share mine experience so far . I flashed my captivate with cm7.1 . In standby (just standby) without touch the phone, data off , the battery is now 75% sience 16 hours . I just look at battery status and then turn off screen . I not receive anything : call, sms, mail etc . Lets hear about your battery life and suggestion in this thread .
With stock gingerbread rom and go launcher my battery loses about 2% an hour with average use. I have push turned on, gps off, and auto rotate off.
Without turning the screen on I lose 1% every two hours.

If you lost 25% over 16 hrs, that's about 1.5% an hour. That's acceptable for cm7/MIUI. Be happy, some people would love to have that.
I am little happy , cause was just in standby 16 hours . But if i use the phone its maybe 16 hours until 0% ) . Anyway ty for replays . I am wondering if any rom have same battery life .
hi all i use a w8 and my battery life is just awful
sbout 1% every 30secs on use and 1% every 45 mins on standby ...it just sucks
- i use GDX rom
-rooted
-stock kernel
-use 360 launcher
thats it
my battery seems to be buggy cause sometimes it shows 64% and iwhen i restart it shows 67% ...any help?
I've read battery life has some to do with the rom and I just saw a post that says after flashing a from to wipe battery stats in recovery I'm looking that up now also I don't think a battery saving app would hurt I use juice defender but I'm a noob Im only telling you what I read so look into it to make sure
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
I use juice defender too. I found that it helps a lot - doesn't matter if it was rooted or not, battery life improved a lot with the app.
hmm kay i think i will try defender ..but srlsly i dun get why it drains so fast ..i tried with 3 other roms but with no good
Try these steps below.
Lower down your Brightness
Set your Phone to Power Saving Mode
Turn off your Wifi when your not using it.
Download Power Saver App: Easy Battery Saver + Task Killer.
ermmmy phone don't have power save mode...it;s a rather old model ..and i never NEVER on wifi , bluetooth , 3G ,data , sync etc ...and i put brightness to lowest ( to save battery since i am in a crisis )
ok so i install juice defender ...and something weird is going on ...my battery never moves ..which is goo and wird .it's stuck at 7f 2or a hour s i restarted and it's at 65% for 2 hrs now is this a bug or is my phoe's battery life is insane?
Ya i use juice defender on extream then just ad the apps i want data and wifi for then i use white killer a root app killer and it frees up half my ram from crapware now all i need to get is titanium pro to freeze my crap ware after doing this my optimus thrill trill has probly 3 times the battery life and if your fermilure with this modle it really sucks juice. Alot better now.

This post contains the news that wiping the battery stats has zero effect.
still...my battery life is SHIIII
You mentioned your phone is an older model; the issue might be that your battery is wearing out. After so many cycles of charges/discharges they lose capacity. You might want to look for a low cost replacement battery if the mods you're trying for your phone aren't helping.

Hi everyone,
I bought a Galaxy S4 GT19500 few days ago. I didn't put an SMS yet to this mobile, so I am using the WiFi to connect to the internet. However, I noticed that the phone consumes a huge amount of battery. I used the stopwatch how much time it takes for the battery to decrease by 1% when browing internet only using WiFi. The time it took was 3 mintues and few seconds only !!
Given that: GPS off, Bluetootch off, Air Gesture off, S-Beam off, eye detection (I forgot it's name) off ..etc and most of the smart features
And brightness was auto, power saving mode was on and from time to time I clear running apps in background.
Please help me, I want to know is this amount of battery consumption normal ??
Thanks in advance,

The apps you have installed could also be a factor. Try using Better Battery Stats to see what is keeping your phone awake and draining battery

Thanks for the reply. When I go to settings->more->battery, the stats show that the screen cosumes most of the battery 27%. However, the level of I screen I've chosen was almost the lowest !!!
Please any other suggestions, any S4 users can share their experience to tell me if what I am experiencing considered NORMAL?

Percentages are good but actual time is better. How much screen on time do you get in a typical charge and how long does your phone last in a typical day?

Hi all
Another post about battery but I searched and I didn't get the answer that I need.
My note 20 ultra have a new battery changed by Samsung during warranty, but it's bad... We all know that this phone is not the best about battery life but my question is.
If I change to Dr Ketal rom will I have improvement in that order ? Or I will keep the same battery problem?
I really like this phone, but this kind of situation is not good for a price tag like this
Thank you all for the feedbacks and help

Hi
Why Dont you change the battery again ??
but before that , dial this code ( *#0228# ) then hit the " quick Start " , display will goes off then turn back on again ,
its done now,
after that for 3 times use it untill it turn off , charge it to 100% when its off . then use it again till its turns off,
3 times
during the callibration DO NOT use " Fast Charging " , turn it off from setting
if the battery has problems it will show during the callibration
if the battery does not go higher than a presice persent ( 70% Example )
if cherge suddenly goes down ( 70 80 to 40 )
under some persents turn off by it self
these are some battery issues ,
let me know
( Sorry For My English )
ill try it
i just use fast charging in some emergency
thanks
