About battery life and solutions for Captivate - Captivate General

Hi all . Lets share everyone the experience about baterry life on each rom, custom rom and what to do for improving the problems with battery . Of course , maybe you will have suggestions about apps or tunning to improve battery life .
For begining i share mine experience so far . I flashed my captivate with cm7.1 . In standby (just standby) without touch the phone, data off , the battery is now 75% sience 16 hours . I just look at battery status and then turn off screen . I not receive anything : call, sms, mail etc . Lets hear about your battery life and suggestion in this thread .

With stock gingerbread rom and go launcher my battery loses about 2% an hour with average use. I have push turned on, gps off, and auto rotate off.
Without turning the screen on I lose 1% every two hours.
Sent from my SGH-I896 using xda premium

If you lost 25% over 16 hrs, that's about 1.5% an hour. That's acceptable for cm7/MIUI. Be happy, some people would love to have that.

I am little happy , cause was just in standby 16 hours . But if i use the phone its maybe 16 hours until 0% ) . Anyway ty for replays . I am wondering if any rom have same battery life .

ROM with best battery life???? Help me plzzzzz

Hello friends ,
It have been 2 weeks since i got my universal (o2 xda exec) , I have tried most of the WM6 roms here , but most of them dont give good battery life..
Anybody know which is the best ROM with Best battery life? or any tips how to improve the battery life?
I usually read books and rarely hear music and i have 4 apps installed and i find the battery drain fast within 3.5hours. For this reason i turned off the phone and wifi. My uni is a new one , i dont want to have the charger all the time with myself.. I go places , do please help me..
Thanks in advance
battery life is awfull and unpredictable
I have the same problem. I use the same crossbow 2.12.08 version
with update radio ( from 1.15 ) to 1.18
I have a larger battery 3200 mAh, but th ebattery life is never more than one day. Though the battery is brandnew...
Worse is that when charging sometimes it shows 100% but most of the time this drops within a few minutes ( 2-4 ) to 97%
Then after 1-2 hours it is on 60% while usage is minimal. no WLAN, no BT
Also sometimes for some reason the battery is very warm ( during loading ).
When disconnected it turns out the universal is almost empty. Tried to disconnect the battery and leave it outside for 5 minutes then back in. but nithing seems to really improve. Also without memory card the results are more or less the same. Also always I close the applications fully.
Maybe someone can tell me what are the possible reasons...? Is is the software. Does it not see the actual charge correctly? Or is there a "hidden"battery user. Read the article about leds and all that, but this is way out of that league.
Rgds
I think that your battery is no good. My battery is 2 years old, it's the original battery 1650mAh and the battery life is 2.5 hours with WiFi enabled (internet navigation via WiFi)
If you want your battery to last longer, check the wiki:

Before blaming ROMs check the device with another battery. I had the same problem too, checked several ROMs and even downgraded to WM5 and at the end it appeared that my battery simply dies, while my other battery showed far better lifetime.
You are definitely having a battery issue rather than ROM. I am using 2.1.2.08 also and can get 3 days of normal mixed use from my original 1620mah battery.
Why not try "resetting" the battery, as discussed in previous forums, I for one can testify to it's success.

Battery Drain on Deep Sleep

I need help
Every night, I leave my phone on deep sleep without 3g or wifi enabled and I lost 4% battery for 9 hours of sleep. I think the battery drains too fast compared to stock and TrickDroid.
I'm on Fusion Kernel Stock and Viper's ROM.
What is the problem? Can you help me?
Thanks you.
PS : Sorry for my bad english.
Try to sleep less. If you sleep for 6 hours instead of 9, you will probably lose only 2% or 3%.
But really, you don't have a problem. It would be nice to lose only 1% or 2% but the difference is less than 10 minutes web browsing on high screen brightness. I can hardly imagine that stock is much better but if you say so it must be for you. We might see some improvement when HTC releases latest kernel source.
I wouldn't know what to advice you to improve this.
4% in 9 hours is well within the realm of acceptable battery drain. You do realize at that rate it could sit in standby for nearly 10 days, right? That's pretty effing good, brotato.

with viper rom, stock kernel and latest radio I lose 8% of my battery at night, same hours sleeping.

I'm on stock ROM, and when i go to work and don't feel the need to bring my One S, i just left it in our house, put it in a deep sleep (all connections off/airplane mode). and when i get home from work, probably after 12-13 hours, it is only draining 0-1% of the battery.

[Q] Average battery time on Kitkat 4.4.2

Hi guys recently i have updated to 4.4.2 and my battery is draining fast like 13 hour with 6 hours screen on time ..... Is it normal or i am having battery drain issue ??
Are you crazy? 6 hours of screen on time is super amazing- you've got an awesome battery. If you are looking to extend your battery life even further then I suggest rooting your phone (if you haven't already done) and use greenify. Other than that, just turn your brightness down and manage your radios efficiently. As far as I can see you have amazing battery life. Do you game or do you just tend to go on YouTube, reply to texts etc...?

I updated my stock S4 the other day and my battery life has just dropped off a cliff. Before the update, a normal day would use 50-60% of my battery. Since the update, i'm down around 10% by 10pm in the evening ... and I dont use my phone very much at all. Wifi is on, GPS and Bluetooth are off. And it appears that the Android System is using about 50% of the battery. (Right now, the phone has been on for 2.5 hours with no calls and no web surfing and the battery is down to 85%)
Any idea what might be causing the problem?? or a solution?

Switch off all the Samsung bloat S-Beam, Screen Mirroring, Air View, Motion and Gestures. Turn on Power save mode.
Switch off auto-brightness and select the brightness you like.
installed stock NI1 from Uruguay. Best battery life ever. Super fast response and screen clarity with above settings.
The only thing missing cannot root using towelroot.
battery sux after Nl1
By lunch today I was at 11%! Normally I would be at 45-50% by lunch, and my phone does come off the charger at 5am. In the past I've been able to keep everything on (GPS, BT, Auto Brightness etc) without running into this kind of battery drain.
Try a factory reset and see.
Normally you should reset after an update.
If that doesn't work, download the old stockrom and flash it
Try flashing back firmware NB1
Sent from my Galaxy S4 using XDA Free mobile app
i dont think its the update..i have everything disabled power save mode on hardly any background services, no BT, and by 5pm im usually 30-35% no matter what rom or version. and thats on both my batteris..i think the phone just likes to eat batteries

screen on time

Hello everybody if only anyone on you can share with us his screen on time and battery use
I usually get 8h30 of screen on time with regular use (internet, few games and so on), I will get screenshots at the end of the day. This phone is amazing, never seen a phone have a battery life as good as a tablet lol.
i can get more than 7H i'm in stock rom rooted i use greenify ... i see a video on youtube with 10h sot i dont know how hi did it :/ but i want to do the same
10 Hours SOT.
I usually get 9 hours or 10 hours screen on time usually with wifi on and some gaming. Simply its performance is very good. Never experienced such battery life before.
I got 6h on mine with normal use. Facebook instagram search things some location not much gps. Data or wifi always on. But the thing that impresed me is not the sot but how much it took to discharge. 6 days ..omg 6 days with 6h on screen time. As you can see i still have juice left.
Forgot to say : j7 2016 25% brightness no saving no nothing. Stock.
