As far as I know It's possible even on different devices. Though this is illegal. At least for my country. What is your purpose on that?

No doubt about it.It's against the law!

coz i lost my IMEI that my purpose..hehe btw i had dowloaded a default efs for i9003 and its on my pc but the problem is i dont know how or what should i do about it coz it is a .RAR file and inside of that is a file with an extension of .rfs i dont know how to use it..

You mignt want to look at this thread to get an idea of where you might find a fix. Be aware this is talking about an I9000 not SGS4G, so do your research first. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=859914&highlight=/efs
Taking someonea efs dir is a bad idea. You will essentially be cloning their device. So i would recommend no one send their efs dir to anyone.

I'm not recommending using someone else's EFS, Just giving him somewhere to look so he can get more informed about how things worked. That's why I said do your research. Thanks Krylon.

I was hesitant to send mine once I saw what was in it. I don't see why he can't just to stock with Odin. Unless there is much more going on.

I looked @my EFS folder with Android Commander and it looks MT also. Unless the files are hidden. But then you need the information for your phone to make it work right

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S won't connect to network

I have an SGS that won't connect to my service provider network. It doesn't show the imei number when I dial *#06# and when you type in in *#1234# it shows the following details
PDA - i9000xwjs3
csc - i9000xfvjs1
Phone - Unknown
I have tried flashing it and installing new ROMS but the problem persists.
Right now I am using MIUI ROM.
Any Solutions?
You need to flash another base trough odin... try gingerbread jvp...or even better ..CM7
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
This sounds really dumb but where do you I find these bases, so far the only popular one is ezbase which is what I have already used.

This loss of imei is well known with miui, go over to their thread to find solution, to get onto miui you must have gone via cm7 surely
Insanity cm017/glitch v10c
I will go through the thread, thanks for the advise, also noticed in the efs/imei folder the only file in there is the bt.txt which has the mac address of the phone.

[Q] Deleted efs folder

Well I have a good friend who is not exactly a genius, he thought if he deleted the efs folder, it would let him use the old web2go on his Galaxy 4G... Well now his imei is all 00000's and I can not get anything...phone calls, web...nothing, regardless what I flash it to.....
Is the phone a brick for now or is there a way I can save it??? Im more than willing to buy a beer if anyone can help me fix this....
Thanks in advance
Update: Ok well ive found that If i leave my sim card in for 10 minutes or so it WILL pick up a signal... The internet will work...BUT very slowly, like 2G slow....I can make calls, but when the other person answers they can hear me, but I cant hear them.
Either way, its not a solution to the problem, is there even a possibility to get the imei back without the original folder??
Have you tried flasing a new ROM?

ODIN to a stock froyo, then Factory reset the phone. See if that helps.

+1 on this. Should set the factory defaults.
Where exactly was this efs folder located?
EDIT
Just looked into this.
/efs is mounted on a whole different partition. You might've just gotten yourself a very expensive paperweight since some of the files contained in that partition are specific to your device (IMEI #'s etc). =|
Check this for reference:

This happen to me and honestly best way you may have a backup of it on your sd card..if you do put it back to where it belongs and reboot..no one will privide you with that folder since it contains private data..thata the one folder YOU NEVER DELETE
I didnt delete it,its just came up like that one day with garbage characters..i dont know how I got it like that cause that usually happens when you try to unlock phone..maybe a combination of things for me.just everyone backup that folder everywher and anywhere lol..its like the heart of yoyr phone lol.

odin a stock rom but change around a few of the files to actually cause a software brick use efs clear checked
once u turn on the phone and see that u get the phone to pc flash the right way with the files in the proper locatons make sure efs clear is checked and use the pitt file flash do factory rset bla bla bla bla
turn phne off let it sit for about 5 mins turn back on it should take awhile to load
it should rebuild your efs folder off the backup the device retains if that doesnt work go take it back

yea being that it was rooted that voids the warranty so if Samsung does fix it they will more than likely be charging you.

deleted system

I accidentally in my samsung galaxy gt-i9070 with root idiot browser because system folder deleted. Can it start no longer is but also clearly because Yes the system is away. So far I need I now a rom if I lie correctly on each if I need help so I the handy again in gang wars thank you times in advance.
First of all, I sympathize with your sufferings which tell us NEVER accidentally delete anything using root explorer. Secondly, I think you should search for a ROM yourself in this big forum cuz only you are fully acquainted with what your phone needs. If you can neither find a ROM nor find a person to give you a ROM, you'd better go to ask those who sold you the phone for help and it won't take you too much time or money, considering it isn't a hardware damage at all. Thanks.

So I understand correctly I need a rom? If yes you can because link post währe very great of dier thousand thanks.
help me
could someone please help me because I would hate that it ends up in the garbage, and I buy a new. Please please help me!
check this post it will help you to install firmware http://www.teamandroid.com/2012/06/...-to-android-2-3-6-xxle2-gingerbread-firmware/
So you where rooted... Than in your download folder you'll still find some rooted things, so your warenty is void. You SHOULDN'T go to the ones who sold you the phone cause they'll find out! I suggest you find the stock rom and root after you reinstalled it. Can you flash your phone correctly?

[Q] Changing IMEI Number of Galaxy Core i8262

I wanted to change my IMEI number, because i purchased this phone from a guy, and i think this is a stolen phone, and i'm not able to find that guy now.
That is why i wanted to Change the IMEI number, and also make sure no one traces it back and i want to be 100% secure.
Please guide me how to do it, and help me in making myself secure...
Thank you!!
Why do you think it's stolen..?
International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) is an unique code assigned to each mobile phone. Since it is provided by the manufacturer at the time of manufacturing, it is not possible to change it later. (or no? )
That's not legal.
