Sounds like you need to do it again and flash bootloaders. That has worked almost every single time.

You have to flash twice, before the second flash you need to check "flash bootloaders"

Restoring back to stock

I was flashing a rom on one of my phones, just as it was rebooting my battery fell out (don't ask) my phone is on and seems fine but nothing root related works and the market doesn't work, my phone just buzzes a bunch of times and finally force closes. Can I use Odin one click to restore back to stock and start over? I used it for the first time to get out of a soft brick yesterday.

I ready used Odin, worked fine. What's the difference between the 2?

RE: what's the difference
The difference in the two is that the Ultimate Unbrick is 99.9% sucessful and anything else is close to 50% sucessful in most cases.

What would you do if you used ultimate unbrick and your phone gets to the home screen and reboots into a loop? How would you fix a boot loop even after you unbricked it? Could there possibly be anymore fixes or would you feel safe sending it back under warranty?

I worry alot, IMO I would use ultimate unbrick package or try to.get into cement and flash a Odin package again. But most who.have gotten to that have been fine returning the phone in that state! I just would hate to get caught

If the phone was rooted, would Odin remove all root traces as well? I can't get into my home screen to use superoneclick to unroot it. I'm afraid it will have traces if I send it back for a replacement.
Depends what package you.used there's a uckd5 completely stock and one that's modded and rooted

If I'm not mistaken mine is ucke3 or was. I used ultimate unbrick and it removed cwm because when I click on "install packages" it gives me the red signature error (forgot exactly what it says). But when I flashed the uckd5 rooted, I was able to get into cwm but when I tried to flash infused rom from cwm it still boot loops at the infused home screen so I'm lost. I'm thinking it's done.

Bricked Nexus S

Hey, i was having trouble with a reoccurring issue with my nexus s: the search button would fire on it own making it almost impossible to use my phone. The nexus was rooted and had clockworkmod installed, so i went ahead and flashed a 2.3.4 version of gingerbread. after the flash was complete, the phone would not turn on whatsoever. not even a boot logo, the screen is just black. cannot even get it into recovery mode.
help would be much appreciated.

are you able to boot it into bootloader (vol up + power button)?
Guys i gotta ask...i mean i flash rom soo many times that my phone is bound to get bricked some day...although nothing has happened till now(knock knock).is there any solution to a hard bricked device..?
kevin, thanks, im unable to turn the phone on whatsoever. not even able to get into the bootloader
Can you adb or fastboot it or is it completely gone?

You have to be pretty unlucky to REALLY brick one of those, assuming you took the proper steps when first rooting it. Nandroid backup + EFS backup = almost bulletproof.

So you don't see any Google logo when you turn it on? Don't get any vibration either?
Could be the BGA failing. That's one of the most common physical problem for the Nexus S, with the power button failure and the softkeys starting to active like they were possessed.

No I'm unable to do anything, can't even get my computer to recognize the phone, I'm beggining to lose hope I feel like I've tried everything. No boot loader, no recovery, just a blank screen with no response whatsoever. I believe I may have flashed an incorrect rom and corrupter the boot loader or something along those lines, at least thats what
my friend believes
Thanks

Cool Discovery After having a bricked infuse

So My phone got stuck at the FactoryFS part while flashing. Battery pull=Soft brick with message (phone)---!----(Computer) screen and "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again. after like 5 hours of trying to get download mode to work, It just didnt. tried many different stock images. so, after being totally pissed I noticed that usb showed up while my phone was at the phone----computer screen. Tried to flash and BAM! my phones back to normal. So did you guys know you can flash from the soft brick screen? or am I totally late?

You're late.
It's been known for a long time that the only time you're hardbricked is when the phone shows NO signs of life at all. The phone-PC screen is just "forced" download mode.

It's not unbrickable. There's a reson I came up with the UnBrickable Mod for this device. It is totally possible to brick it with a bad bootloader flash.

Phone : unlocked AT&T
What was done : used multiple ways to get back to GB including "A2_go_bak_win". at i ended up in boot loop.... then i used RSD lite to do the same this it failed in between .... (battery was 50%)
After this the phone's screen is absolutely blank ... no powering up... just one catch if i put battery into the phone it starts getting warmer....
Any suggestions.....

When you flashed through RSD did you use the ICS patch? The patch skips the mbmloader which is the file that bricks your phone. Also Jim's script usually has to be run twice before the phone boots (first time it just hangs on Moto Logo).
If you didn't use the patch your phone is gone. Nothing you can do besides get a replacement....

It looks like he tried to use my script, but got the odd flash that 1 in 10 people seem to get. All the OP needed to do was rerun the script, that is posted in my thread about the return to GB thread. If it fails the second time, all you need to do is use RSDlite, and point it to the XML file that came within my script.
I hate to tell the OP, but you are bricked.
This is why im still scared to downgrade back to GB.

Look, as with everything on this board, read WHOLE threads before you attempt anything... most times people post an issue and then there are ways posted on how to get around it.
If you follow the directions and have an issue post in the thread and one of us have most likely encountered it, and give you fix... DON'T do as the OP did and just start trying things. One of us devs or Sr. members will get you you taken care of fairly quickly, but panicing and just starting to try things is the easiest way to brick.
I wouldn't want to downgrade either.. to scared I might mess up

$122 is cheap for a motherboard replacement. Consider yourself lucky it did not cost you more.

Phone wont boot after rom install

I install slimroms 4.2.1 stable rom and went to reboot phone and now i cant boot it up. I tried getting into recovery or download mod by holding Home power and volume up or down but nothing happens. The screen just remains off. Is there a way around this or is it done?
Remove then reinstall the battery. Then try again. Cal you get into download mode?

search for how to fix a hard brick you mightve flashed a rom for a different carrier dude, something like that. if you cant boot into odin than its probably hard bricked. try leaving it for awhile and go back to it later, sometimes technology is weird like that. i doubt it though..

Well I'll be honest I looked at SD card and I flashed and i9300 rom on it. I've tried leaving battery and stuff but the phone just won't power on. Screen just remains off. When I plug into computer with battery out a red light comes on and phone tried to install a driver but doesn't install and Odin doesn't see. I have Samsung drivers installed so i don't know what it's trying to install. Am I screwed? Throw phone away? Lol
Google jtag. I don't think there's another way to get your phone fixed. Flashing an international rom is the surest way to hard brick.

I head jtag doesn't work anymore after 2.3 android or maybe it was the jig I was reading about.
