If I'm reading this correctly, you have access to bootloader and recovery, but don't have a ROM.zip file to flash. Correct me if I'm wrong though?
If that's the case, check my post here.

yes i was able to find your post and it worked! thanks a lot

[Q] HELP!! I soft bricked my friend's phone and it fails every time I try to flash.

Okay, so my friend came over today, so I could root/rom his phone. I set it all up, with Odin and everything ready, and when I ran Odin with recovery.tar, it failed. I thought, okay, probably just have to try again. I tried again, and it still fails. It is only soft bricked, but it may as well be hard bricked as I cannot fix it. PLEASE HELP!! I'm really worried about this.
Recovery.tar is to go back to stock. Scroll down here and you can find all the steps to root and install roms. Here

I did do this, and it failed. I followed these to a dot, and also, recovery is cwm.
Give me link of what you are using to root.

Get odin set up with tar, hold both volume buttons on the left side of the pone, while it is turned off (make sure you have usb cable unplugged first) then plug usb cable into the phone, and you should be in download mode.
If you are running 2.3.5 than y don't you use one click root.

He's using 2.3.6, got it yesterday. Okay, I tried restarting the phone, going to recovery, but whenever I try to flash, it fails.
Do you mean going into Dload mode?

Yea. Ok, it is definitely only soft bricked, but I cannot fix it as I can't actually get Odin to flash.
And thanks for helping me.
Take the battery out and place it back
Hold both Vol up + Vol down, and plug in the USB cable.
Press Vol up to continue to Download Mode.

Ok. So I went into download mode, opened up ODIN, and tried flashing CWM. When that failed, I tried again, taking out the battery and turning the phone back on to download mode, reflashing CWM, and it failed again. I then downloaded the complete stock flashable ODIN file.I flashed this, and it also failed. I have tried this multiple times, with different usb cords. I tried reinstalling the drivers, and flashing again. It still says failed.
Ok lets try different way. Just use odin to flash the .zip file aka Superuser thats all.
Install the drivers and make sure the Phone is recognized by your PC.
Rename the downloaded "su-3.0.5-efgh-signed.zip" to "superuser.zip" and put it on your EXTERNAL SD card.
Or place a custom rom on your EXTERNAL SD card.
If you want STOCK rooted then use the superuser.zip,

Yes silver its his friends device. Hey he says he can't flash cwm through Odin So i want him to just flash superuser.zip and install/flash CWM through Rom manager. What do you think will it work?

You dont use odin to flash the super user zip. You use cwm recovery. If he is not rooted he probobly also does not have cwm recovery.

hi!
it seems like I had the same problem some time ago after flashing CM10...
my solution: flash a recovery img with fastboot where u can access your internal sd via the usb cable. format it, done. I use the Team Win Recovery v2.3.3.0 - I hope u can do that with v2.1.7 too. After formatting the sd card, I flashed a new ROM (ViperOneS in my case) and everything worked fine again.

Well i flashed it, but it didnt work. Then i tried to adb push it to /data, but the zips didnts install. I got an error. So the phone still freezes at the "HTC quietly brilliant screen."
So when i try to flash a stock it says "FAILED (remote: signature verify fail)
What did you try to push to /data?
If my memory isnt failing me, /data isnt accessable by ADB by default (needs ro.secure=0 in default.prop).
Whatever you pushed, push it to /sdcard instead.

ADB push worked, the zip when through, but i just couldnt install it. I'm trying it now again to see if it works this time. and then im going to try to push it to /sdcard, but since its not in im not sure if it will detect it But i will try it right after i push it to /data/sdcard
Edit: Didnt work! im trying to push to /sdcard now.
Edit2: Well i tried to flash to /sdcard but the file did not show up
Edit3: So i got the file onto my phone, but it will not install because /sdcard and /cache will not mount. :'(

Can you go into Bootloader/Fastboot? (Volume Down + Power)
EDIT: Read your other thread. You need to flash a stock recovery. You can do that via fastboot. Flash a stock recovery, format SD card, then flash a custom recovery again and you should be good to go.
Process of flashing any recovery is easy. Refer to the method in my signature, you just need to follow the RECOVERY FLASHING PART ONLY.
Other necessary info is also available.

Great. Now you have a stock recovery. Just format the SD Card from recovery and the SD should be good.
Afterwards, you can flash any custom recovery and mess around with flashing ROMs etc.

Download This. Open the zip file with 7-Zip or WinRAR, go to firmware.zip, extract recovery.img.
Then flash the recovery in the same way. This is the stock recovery and not TWRP.
I am assuming your phone to be S3 and updated to Jellybean already.
