Is anyone ditching their skyrocket for the Note when it comes to att?

If it comes within 30 days.

Don't think it's coming in 30 days.. Also have you guys noticed how big that phone is?! It's crazy.

I have both. I got the GNote for Christmas. I did not really use it as a phone until this week when I went back to work. I planned to switch my SIM out every other week or so.
I am due to switch to my skyrocket next week and I do not really want to. The GNote is awesome!
- Screen is fantastic! HD resolution makes the skyrocket icons look like that cricket phone for old people the icons are so big in comparison!
- Bluetooth is fantastic again! I can use my Jawbone and car bluetooth again. The Gnote works as it should with bluetooth. My skyrocket is useless.
- HSPA+ speeds on my GNote are good enough. I thought I would miss LTE but I have really not.
- Battery life is amazing! 2500 mAh battery lasts and lasts! Not sure how LTE will affect the US variant. Will be better than the skyrocket though.
- The only real downside is that there are not many cases etc for the GNote unless you import them and you really do not know the quality as most are made in China. Hopefully ATT will keep the size the same so we will have more cases to choose from.
- I am not even talking about the S pen, S Planner etc. Very cool stuff you can do with theses apps and more.
- I predict the GNote will be a huge hit in the US! Hopefully all carriers will get it so all can enjoy it!
Not ditching. But planing on adding. It. Yeah the note is badass. 5.3 inch hd amoled. Awesomeness. And you can get the international version now. As he has. But the att version wil have the same cpu/gpu we have, and LTE. Also the note was confirmed for ics just like us.
One funny thing is the comments you will receive. The funniest are when ladies say something like OMG, that thing is huge! hahaha!
or is that the ipad 3? lol!
I'm thinking of adding it also...btw how is the GPS...the skyrockets GPS outta awesome..
Sent via rooted SkyRocket
i thought about that before. i borrow my friend's note and try it. Everything looks great except i can't really put it on my pocket, and it looks so weird when i hold it for phone call. it feels like i am holding an tablet. I wish they have skyrocket + note merge version lol. One more last thing, i really hate that physical home button.
I'm 50/50 right now, would depend if I can sell this for a reasonable price
i just signed a 2 year contract (more than 30 days in). I want the note bad but I am stuck with the skyrocket. not a bad thing though.
anyone have any idea of an ETA for the note?
I had the TITAN for 3 weeks and I thought that was huge. Looks awesome but I don't know if that 5.3" screen would fit in my pocket

One thing you could do is find someone who is still in their 30 day period (like me), have them return their Skyrocket, buy the GNote, then trade the Gnote with your Skyrocket (and you pay the difference to them, plus maybe a bit for the hassle).
Not saying I'm volunteering necessarily, but it's an idea!
why even talk about this phone here. i dont get it....
Cause its the next Sammy that att is getting...

But just thought I'd say I'm back to using my sgs4g as my daily driver.
I have been using the g2x for the past couple months, but my galaxy is honestly just a better phone. And with octane 3.0 its damn near as fast. With twice the battery. More sensitive (and brighter) touch screen. Stronger signal. Louder speaker. Thinner and lighter. And modern combat 2 plays just as smooth and beautiful, though I'll still use my g2x for some games. Deadspace occasionally stutters just a tad on sgs4g vs perfect on g2x. And I'll miss the flash on my g2x since I often use it as a flashlight.
So anyways just thought I'd remind you all this old phone really isn't so far behind performance wise as the newest phones would have us believe.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
Totally agree.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
use chainfire and have it reduce texture size and unroll 32 bit textures that will fix the games sight stutter
I'll keep that in mind for future gaming, though the "stuttering" is literally so minimal I honestly don't think I would've even noticed it if I hadn't already been playing deadspace on the g2x.

Adding my two cents here:
Bought my daughter a g2x for Christmas, even made a topic about how I wanted to switch phones with her.
Now that I had some time to play with it, I can honestly say that all in all, I would prefer to keep my phone.
When I got my sgs4g i was originally going for a g2x but it was out of stock. I went ahead and got this because my hd2 died and I was phoneless...

HM, when my screen broke, I thought my parents wouldn't ever buy me another phone that's android, but then I saw the Tmobile Comet!! A piece of garbage worse than the G1, smaller screen, bad touchscreen, made out of cheap toy plastic, but android 2.2.1. So I thought that if anything, I would get that. It was also offered as a free phone with new contract, but, then I have no idea what happened to my dad and I got an SGS4G!?!/!/!?

I tried selling mine on craigslist after getting the g2x, guess refusing to go under $200 was to much!
Now I'm glad it didn't sell, as much as I do like the g2x its just not worth the headache as a daily driver. And mine wasn't even a bad one! Guess I'll probably stick with Samsung from now on.

Well today is the last day that I will be a GS3 owner. My DNA is getting here tomorrow and god knows how many times I tried to stay with this phone. The radio issues makes my phone experience terrible.

Well after these comments I actually went in to the Verizon store and played with it. I like it sense seems a bit different but easy to use. I don't use my phone 24/7 because I work 10hr shifts,...but it should last me a day or two on moderate use. I also played with the RAZR Max HD and it was great..defenetly a phone to look into.

Good luck on the 2 days of use....to achieve that, put your screen at the dimmest setting and put airplane mode on.
Honestly man, I'm trying to help you. Everyone wants the new toy. You will not feel any difference from your S3 except the screen. Sense bogs that phone down so hard that the home screen actually has lag.

See, I disagree because I played with it today for at least 30 minutes. The Verizon rep kept coming to me asking me if I needed an upgrade lol...and I did not notice any lag. I opened Facebook and played a few games that were installed on the phone. I noticed that the phone needs a bit of tweaking with notifications and everything but other than that it was faster than the S3. I like the S3 because of the buttery scrolling but that is due to the scrolling affects. If I do not like sense I will just slap Nova Prime on it and be done with it
I dont know how to live with only 11gb of memory.... 3 nandroid backups... 2 rom zips, some music, some naked pics (of my girl of course) and i would be getting that annoying "insufficient memory" crap..
No thanks. I will stick with my Clean-S3 and 48 gb of memory.

NOOO! Not the DNA!!!
In all seriousness, get the Note2. Very nice step up from the S3. IMHO a 1080 screen is nice, but not worth all the other drawbacks.
You may not see lag at first but once you get all you apps and background services you'll see it lag. Htcs overlay really slows down phones. My s3 on the other hand hasn't slowed down yet even with a ton of apps and services running in the background. Also the s3 will most likely see more updates than the DNA.

Look at the Dev support for both phones. Nuff said....
Get WHATEVER you like. No card slot would be a dealbreaker for me, but who knows what other people's needs are. I have a 64gb card in my S III and it's almost full... but I also have a Nexus 7 with only 16gb and I deal with the limitations. Cloud storage is the next big thing for mobile devices, and if you're in a solid 4G area and don't have limited data, why not give it a shot.
Sidenote- I finally got to check out a friends Note 2 yesterday. WAY too big of a phone... for me at least... but it's a great device.

I agree, My dad has the note II and its huge....and he has it in an defender otter-box lol every time he bends down to do something his phone falls out of the clip.
I do not need a massive storage because I don't listen to music on my phone..I have a 32g I pod for that. I do take a lot of pictures though so I guess that I would have to transfer them to my PC every once in a while. The phone has more goods than bad but I will look into the lag and if unbearable then I will return it.
Thanks for the replies guys.

fyi - You could use "Sweet Home!" application to automatically send your pics in your gallery to your computer when you get to your HOME network and then you could auto delete it as well, if you want. Super neat app.
If you can get two days out of the DNA then you don't even need a cell phone, lol. If you left it sitting on your desk with no use it wouldn't last 2 days. The screen is nice but personally no SD card, hardly any dev support and a locked boot loader are deal breakers.
Spending 30 minutes in a Verizon store is irrelevant when they're making sure you get a sick WiFi and 4g signal!!
I will make a prediction of your actual usage - 24 hours on battery, 5 minutes of screen time!!
I have a friend who works for HTC and have played with every device they have. Personally I think the battery life on their phones make them useless.

It stood well the test of time. I've reclaimed the very first Android phone, myTouch 4G from my cousin. I gave him my Nexus 4.
Anyway, I compare the G2X, still solid and smooth. The myTouch is just slow painful to use. How times have changed.
The other day used G2X on skype and had multiple crashes and phone has become very sluggish at running more than 2 apps. This is on CM7. The display and colors are bright and deep black colors. In my opinion, its a great display.
My main is Nexus 5. Still my favorite phone.
Jumping ship and getting the nexus 5 as soon as I get a job.

In the beginning I had some reservations, but with all phones there are downsides and problems. The phone is quite solid, though my micro usb port has come loose and doesn't work with my computer but still charges fine. This is because I have been quite rough with my cables though, so my fault. I used to be a Samsung fan, but have come to love my HTC phone. If you do decide to get this phone, maybe avoid the white/silver model as there are a few complaints about the plastics on this model. Maybe the issue has been resolved but you don't know if you get old stock from your supplier.

+1 Very true, get the black model or any besides the white/silver one because there are some hairline crack problem. I have at&t so there were no choices between colors so I had to get the white/silver one and I had a replacement for the hairline cracks. Then after like 5 months of the replacement phone that I'm using right now has 2 hairline cracks. If I spot 1 more or before the 1 year warranty ends, I will ask for a replacement.
Means except manufacturer defects you don't have any probs. What a contrast. Same question was asked in xperia z1 compact forum and people had lots of complaints. Well in the end it proves specs don't matter, user experience does.

i just got mine a few months ago. I was an iphone guy since the first one... tried to go android with the galaxy s4, but ended up taking it back because it was too inconvienent using it with one hand. Considering I was running an alpha of cm11, which just finally went to beta, I'd say it's a great phone, considering I'm not even running stable hardware. battery life is at least on par with my iphone (as long as i'm careful with what's running). So for me.. it's the best adroid fit for myself i've found.

Yeah its a hell of a beautiful smartphone. In India only HTC one dual sim is there which is thicker than the original and does not have unibody. So that makes the mini one of the most beautiful smart phones and the most beautiful in HTC's portfolio.

With Jelly Bean, I wasn't impressed with the battery life. Now that I have KitKat, it seems to be far more acceptable. It's still not as good as the old One S (man, that phone was ahead of its time)!
The only other regret is the camera. It works beautifully in low light situations (like dimly lit restaurants), but during all other occasions, the photos have such low resolution that they only look good while viewed on the phone. Viewing them on a computer screen reveals a lack of sharpness and detail in the photos.
Other than that, this phone is sexy and meets all my daily performance needs.
It's a sexy phone, but the battery is crap. Hopefully this will get better with CM 11.
BTW, the CM11 that is being worked on is for the AT&T version, will that work with international phones? I'm in sweden and not on at&t.
So. There are probably no performance issues. And do you have any probs in running high end apps.

The HTC one mini is, hands down, the best phone I ever owned. By far.
love this phone, especially the size, compared to my former N4 and N5.
My only complaint: no factory image availaible, as on the nexus.
HTC service in Austria told me, when flashing an RUU, they MUST replace the Motherboard as well!,

Only regret is... that in december i swaped first Silver mini... for cracks...obviously.... and on the swap phone cracks appeared second day of owning it ). I didnt want to stay 2 weeks without it... so i kept it like that until yesterday(many cracks appeared meantime)
So... waiting for replacement...back to my trusty Desire S .
But i love the phone... the shape... the design, good speed.. no freezes, briliant camera in night conditions...superb screen, and good battery comparing to desire s

I just got this phone and there are 3 cracks already on it from 4 days of light use.
Anyone use a case to prevent or hide the cracks? If so, which one?
FYI, I just got this case in the mail today : http://www.ebay.com/itm/331168743655
It's super thin, fits like a glove and makes the phone feel a lot better (more grippy). It kept slipping out of my hand caseless.
I'm not sure how long it will last but I'm going to order a few more anyway.
