*****[UPDATE 14/09/2012]*****
Ohai everybody!
During last night BBQLog has gone through a massive internal update. Team has done serious improvements in our interfaces with github and we are very proud of the results. In fact, where we used to take 15 minutes to fetch and know if there was changes on all the 1100 repos for cyanogenmod project, we managed to achieve an amazing drop down to just 2 minutes. This was a legendary non precedent work by TeamBBQ awesome devs.
Also, we are more precise than never on filtering the repos by device and project. This means that now is very unlikely to find out a change list for your device that is not supposed to be there. Translations are filtered too, so no more of them flooding the list. You can have them back if you want on the very bottom of the page. Finally there was a gazillion minor optimizations and code cleaning.
We really hope you enjoy this new era and i want to warn you all to stay tunned cause this is just a preparation for even bigger steps by TeamBBQ. There is more to come cause we are here to stay.
As usual, feel free to report bugs and comment.
Cheers,
TeamBBQ.

Looks great.
Seems like changing the CM Version always reverts back to CM9 after clicking on another link. Maybe thats intended.

Thanks for the report, the bug is being adressed!

Shouldn't changes made to CyanogenMod/android_kernel_samsung_smdk4210 also show up in the Galaxy S 2 changelog?

Is there a way to show multiple days at once? I kind of liked to see the changes from previous days to compare them with the current ones.

Thanks, I guess the CM9 on the Droid 3 is not official then.

Great job, thanks very much for this.
Request, please: would you consider indicating the timezone when times are printed, e.g. MERGED, Built, etc?
thanks much indeed.

Q&A
Is this CM7?
No, this is a build that started from AOSP. However, some of the fixes and few features have been derived from the CyanogenMod Team, including the CM kernel.
How social is the evervolv team?
You can join us on IRC, irc.freenode.net #evervolv. Or follow preludedrew and the status of Evervolv @preludedrew on twitter.
Does this rom include the T-Mobile Theme Engine? Downloading now but I'm at work so I'll report back in a little bit. Much appreciated

This tastes smooth
Did a fresh wipe/data reset. Flashed the rom and the gb-0325 gapps. Everything installed with no issues, first boot went smooth.
It's a decent looking rom even though the font is really hard on my crappy eyesight, overall I like it so far besides the few issues i ran into. Market works and reinstalled all of my apps without issue. Everything syncs(contacts, gmail, apps, etc) Sent and received a few SMS messages. 1x/3g works. Browsed the internet. Can make and receive calls.
I thought it was a little slow after first boot but after a reboot it isn't as clunky and sporadicly laggy. Gallery took a bit initially but i think it was generating the new thumbnails
Camera force closes and does not open.
I receive an error when trying to start wifi. It just says error, I will logcat or something later when my kids aren't trying to beat me mercilessly.

USB fixed, Wifi fixed, Sound fixed.. Anything else?
The power widgets are going to be an issue for a short period. I created them with HDPI in mind, and still need to do some adapting to MDPI.
smoothtaste, PM your gtalk me so we can get on the same page with things.

Normal distributions for phones that are supported go as follows
Test builds (current stage of the heroc), These go on irc in the main topic, i often tweet about them being there... but not always.
Nightly builds ( I call them nightlies because I used to do them once or twice a night for people back when gingerbread first came out, now i just put out nightlies when I think the rom is good, but want one last test ). - These can be found on twitter and in the IRC channels main topic.
XDA/evervolv.com builds - These are the obvious release builds... I do not do 'Stable releases' just because there's always something out there that im trying out... learning how to do.. so ya'all get what we're doing anyways. For the most part a 'beta' build is something that is stable enough for usage... yet the next week there could be something borked because im adding new things (like standalone power widgets are currently borked... working on them as soon as this message is written).
As far as the heroc is concerned, im fine with smoothtaste compiling and distributing.. ( this is an open community afterall) but i'll be doing an official release shortly (was close to doing one before 2.3.4 was merged, and then got busy with that =p)
my twitter account - @preludedrew
I post everything i do on there, kind of a 'twitlog' if you will.

Ok all g2x ics stuff goes here!!

ICS ANDROID QUESTIONS GO HERE!!!!!
Quite frankly im sick of seeing a new thread or an old thread revised every 4 weeks. Basically from the point of a dev and a fan I am submitting this thread. I want to see every old or dev thread closed and all questions or suggestions pointed here.
I have personally exhausted most of my resources trying to fix the problems we have within our tegra g2x builds. This device is completely closed source rather like to admit it or not. blame it on all you want to.ether
The bottom line is lg and nvidia only releases source for their bottom line **** that makes tegra work, and we have done patched that in and made it work to some extents.
Yes Alot of us devs can make cm9 work and alot of us can make aosp4.0.3+ work. but they will not opensource their work. To the same extent we where stuck at with the vibrant and the gps issue.
All i can say is do not buy another lg device or another tegra device. Yes the transformer is bad ass, but if you protest to a level to where no one wants there work they will be forced as an oem to make there manufactures push their source and make it relevant to the point the oems do.....
Thanks for this, all the other ones seem really useless and never stay on track anyway. . I wonder how long it'll take before some guy trolls the hell out of this one. Lets try to keep this one only pertaining to AOSP ICS or CM9 development and/or progress.
This works...but at some point it will get off track...most of the people that are in the the other threads can't get a working build and since we don't have any builds to test anymore its tough to stay on topic with something you aren't using.

Yea, that's crap, I mean, one of the things I like about Android is the open-sourceness. If only OEM's would realize that an open-source system will, in my opinion at least, get more and better support FROM THE COMMUNITY tahn a totally closed system. Take Windows for example, we all have have things to complain about and most can't do that much, even with third-party programs which can be used to correct problems or bugs or add features. On the other hand, there's a game series I follow where the Dev's explicitly made the games open for easy modification, the only "closed" part is the actual engine itself which was developed from scratch. And what resulted was a fan base who took initiative to correct bugs and add features, sure people didn't like the fact that the games had bugs initially but not only did the community take action but the devs even incorporated community fixes into official patches and credited the person who made the fix. Now the dev company has gone solo and publish their own games and are due to release a fourth in the series with a strong fan base. And here we have people who will refuse to ever touch, Nvidia and/or LG ever again, and not just because of bugs, but the fact that it's closed and we get crap for official releases and fixes and crap for support.
/end rant
Ok let's get on subject, what works and what doesn't work in the ics development for our phone? I don't have a twitter or facebook so I don't keep up with the news.

On the old alpha builds, it was sound and camera that didnt work i believe. On my build, it was data, camera and sound. Don't know about kwes' build. CM supposedly fixed the sound issue, but aren't sharing sources yet. So we're kinda at a stand-still until LG releases some source, or CM lets us know how they fixed the sound issue.
I just compiled the aosp 4.0.3 for G2x. I used the google's sources not CM9. However it doesn't boot. I was just wondering how did you guys got it to boot?
Also, the aosp source requires recovery as well to make the otapackage. Is there any way to make the otapackage without recovery? This is not a very big issue as i can manually make the otapackage.
booting up is the big hurdle. Any help is highly appreciated
Thanks

Right, unless CM got camera and data to work. And if all this is going to be open source anyhow, why the secrecy and lack of sharing? As far as I understand no one is making or going to make money off this so, what is it? Is it some petty game of who's the biggest baddest dev?
People can remember CM for being the first to release ICS for the G2x but only because they kept their work secret and didn't share or because they shared their work with others and others with them and they came out on top because they are better or they didn't because they aren't better, etc.
@moeahmad1995
Back on subject? It's a general thread which is all inclusive: "Ok all g2x ics stuff goes here!!"

I'd guess that there are many reasons for CM to keep their source closed for now, not the least of which is reputation. Also competition is one of the things that drives development. Open source is not just about giving hard work away for free.
Here's a great article that helped me to better understand the nature of open source.

I hope this help fix audio problem...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is my fix for SU660 ICS audio...and it work for my ICS AOSP 4.0.3 (SU660 = KR version P990)
I think currently, we must use the libaudio from CM7/Stock rom.......
SO...
1. Modify star-common/BoardConfigCommon.mk
BOARD_USES_GENERIC_AUDIO := false
BOARD_USES_AUDIO_LEGACY := true
# Use dirty hack to allow froyo libaudio
BOARD_HAVE_BLUETOOTH := true
BOARD_HAVE_BLUETOOTH_BCM := true
2. Add audio.primary.p990 audio_policy.p990 into your star-common/star.mk. (This will use hardware/cm/audio. DONT USE audio.primary.tegra audio_policy.tegra!)
3. Use my hardware_legacy.tgz , extract it into star-common/include. The code is mainly from VorkTeam's github, thanks. I only made some fix in it.
4. Copy from CM7/Stock rom : libaudio.so, liba2dp.so, liblvvil.so
Audio should work now...

Cornerstone by Onskreen just went Open Source!

Cornerstone allows you to see multiple apps running at once, like a window manager for Android.
This is some seriously cool ****. Check it out:
http://onskreen.com/cornerstone/
They have just gone Open Source and put the code on GitHub.
It's not as useful for tiny phone screens, where you need every pixel for just a single app. But for tablets -- especially the 7" and 10" sizes -- this is a huge deal. Android tablets can now actually be used for real work.
I would love to see this in CM9. So far, no official APK has been released, and it's not clear whether a deeper level of integration is required from ROM vendors. I've asked some basic questions on their Google group for Cornerstone development:
http://groups.google.com/group/cornerstone-dev
Further Info:
In order to control the screen display of other 3rd-party apps, Cornerstone does in fact make changes to the Android "/framework" code. (There are those framework changes, plus two APK packages that provide the GUI for launching and managing apps.)
This means that Cornerstone support would need to be integrated into the ROM directly. It cannot simply be installed with an APK. I'm fairly new to Android development, but it seems like it would be necessary to apply their changes to the Cyanogenmod GitHub tree and then build a new ROM for your specific device.
It would be easiest for users if the CM team if they integrated the support directly into their tree; then users would be able to choose to use the end-user APK files or simply not use them.
Any chance you could post an apk? I'm not able to build it otherwise till tomorrow or so and that sounds awesome!

hey I'm kind of new to this community. But have some experiences rooting and flashing android devices. I had flash ICS 4.0.3 to a Tmobile Samsung vibrant, gs2, nexus, htc EO a lot more. finally my touchpad running ICS 4.0.4 with some WiFi and Browser issues. I guess is common because is a rough build.
. I'm going to flash ICS with cornerstone let you know how it goes...

[ROM][4.1.2][SR5][2012-11-12] OFFICIAL codefireX Periodicals

Many users have shown an interest in getting periodic, tested codefireX builds in addition to the untested codefireX nightlies. So in other words, this is here to provide builds to those who are uncomfortable using untested nightlies. IF YOU WANT BLEEDING EDGE, USE THE NIGHTLIES!!!
Unlike with some other JellyBean roms on this forum, I believe that all users should know exactly what is being built in/for the ROM. That is why the device/vendor/qcom proprietary repos I use and maintain are available for all to see and contribute to HERE. The codefireX and kernel github links are above the download link. Please do not ask me to include any prebuilt or proprietary applications in this ROM; I will refuse, or ignore you entirely. I removed the prebuilt terminal emulator and rommanager apps from the vendor repo for the above reason! Using proprietary or closed source applications/ROMs is and always will be a security concern I would rather not expose users to.
Changelogs are not available, however you may use github (always current), or BananaGranola's great flowchart listed below. The kernel built with this is the KangBang 7x30 Kernel I maintain, and the stable branch. Please check the kernel thread or github for kernel changelogs.
I will be rarely able to respond to questions on this thread, so please help your fellow android user out or visit twitter/IRC

NOT simply a re-named CM build like another ROM on this forum
Built with a custom toolchain, strict aliasing, -O3 completely (including thumb_cflags), and other Linaro optimizations such as OOM/LMK changes. JUST TRY TO FIND A FASTER SOURCE BUILT JELLYBEAN ROM!
Faster, more often AOSP merge strategy than CM (and not just the release branches, but also master/jb-dev)
TimeLapse functional in camera (opposed to CM ROMs)
Face detection functional in the camera
Lots more but I'm boring myself already

Checking Bananagranola's flowchart it says it's 1024, so can we say this is "just" (like if it's not enough ) 1024 nightly?, since many people kept saying 1024 was a very stable release... Are these periodical releases a nightly release that you consider stable or have differences from that nightlies?
Is it clear or I just mess it up?
dude, you just did too much for us! :good:

I believe the SR1 is the same as the 1102 nightly that's coming out later tonight. Since I don't have that yet, the flowchart isn't updated yet. It will be later tonight. Synergye said in IRC that there will be some changes in tonight's nightly.

These are built separately and I test to make sure there are no glaring issues. SR1 is basically the same as the 1102 nightly which just went up (hence the working face detection), so there have indeed been a few feature additions (i.e. wifi ssid in notification shade) which will make it into the flow chart soon no doubt.
tl;dr: These are tested, whereas the nightlies are untested, automated builds.
EDIT: thank bananagranola, not me. He beat me to it
You may not be responsible if the phones on fire, but you are responsible for firing up the phones, thanks Synergye for your great work.
PS : some pics would be nice ( just a thought )
Downloading & can't wait to test . Thanks for ur hard work .

Updated flowchart to reflect changes in 1102. Reorganized Status Bar into 2 categories, Miscellaneous and Notification Shade, and added Show WiFi network. PDF and ODG at the new Google Doc location.
EDIT: I just noticed my name in the OP! I feel all warm and fuzzy; I've never been in one of those lists before.
i think jellytime now got competition thanks synergye

It's because you've made such a great flowchart! I'll update the link in OP shortly.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/cesel9cutipjpje/bootanimation.zip
There's a bug in it apollo player shuts itself up when playing in background this happens after sometime.
Synergye it would be much appreciated by many guys out there if you make this thread noob friendly by adding change log (not git)
If I helped you press thanks
If no then sorry

Hey Raza Qadri, please don´t get me wrong but I think it´s not fair to compare cfX with Jellytime. Synergye has stated several times what´s going on in that side of the forum. There has been no competitors to codefireX, since all of them are based on Synergye´s work or at least part of it.

You can certainly buy him a beer, but I'm not a Team Codefire member; just another fan helping out when I can. (Don't want you to get the wrong impression and put too much weight on what I say...)
Sound output on earphones still cracks ...
the bug that when I enable the speaker the microphone is still exist?

[feature] real multitasking with multiwindow possible?

so i did go and do own build with multiwindow picked, and i was not too surprised to see when i tap other of the opened apps the other one pauses itself.(YES i know multiwindow is still not completely finished) but my question is are you planning to do it furher so i could for example. watch video on other half of my screen and use browser on the other half without interrupting video playback.

Actually its allready working quite good was able to run antutu benchmark while browsing xda on other half of the screenscreen which proofs both Windows were active and no interrupts happened.
HI,
@op : Its very good that you maintained the features what other users want but can u try and sync up with @XpLoDWilD and keep a track with what all features are currently used in the ROM so that we can know what all features and updates we are getting with each build.
I searched a lot but I couldn't find and thing like changelog,I know we can have a look at github commits but I am talking through a layman perspective. :good:
Thanks a lot for this beautifull ROM :good:
I hope you'll keep this feature !! This one of most important reasons why i'll try your AOSP rom ! You're the only guy to have this feature on AOSP rom of Note 2 !
Thanks !
When this will be added into 4.4 roms?

Changelog is at
https://changelog.omnirom.org/
pick your device on the right then bookmark that to check daily.
I too would love a more comprehensive current list of features, just so I know what is and isnt there. And I am VERY excited about getting multiwindow eventually, that held me to JediX until last week, when I came to the dark side...
Apologies if this is a daft post, but is this feature available? A Google search shows it running on nexus 4 omni 4.3 but I can't see anything about 4.4

I'm running the latest nightly on the 2013 N7 and it still isn't there yet. Seems like there's still a lot more work to do to this ROM in terms of features and setting aesthetics.
Patience, work in progress https://gerrit.omnirom.org/#/c/1510/
