[Q] Any cool downanimtion? - HTC Sensation

I got bored of the android blue gears down animation, I've been browsing the forums for a down animation but nothing seems appealing
any suggestions?

Uh, look again? This is going to be subjective. People are going to suggest things you've already seen and passed up.

[Q] help?

first-timer and just rooted mytouch 4g. Took me whole month to do some researching and blah. Now, I'm getting there but still....hard. i give you example why. You see, the most of it required for everyone to watch youtube how to make it work but it is sucks because I am DEAF and in youtube giving instructions how to do it, and it does'nt come with CC(closed captions). Basically i am just watching video and have no idea what it saying. after many attempts and back to factory stock. Now, for last few days no problem and i am currently run FR-Sense-Faux with Royal Glacier. And its still seems no changes.
What I'm looking for is simple, speedy, eye catching icons with theme and easy to handle.
here i am thinking i am crazy to ask for....help
need to remember please don't recommend me to watch youtube unless it's including CC(closed captions)
thanks

One thing I always make sure that I do is to make a nandroid backup of my phone from the recovery boot menu before flashing any new roms. Believe me, you'll learn to love that feature.
As far as the look and feel of the phone, you can always try different homes. I use Launcher Pro which has all kinds of neat little page transitions, a nice app drawer and seems to be customizable beyond just the dock backgrounds and icons.

[Q] sense of direction

Hey guys,
Rooted my phone within the first week. Basically i'd like to customize individual things such as the boot animation, how certain things look etc. but i'm not really quite sure how to do this? I used to be really into the psp scene and everything was a lot easier to mess around with there (just flash0 haha)
Basically i'm looking for some kind of direction of how i can do this?
Theme and app section of forum but here is a link to some that flash in recovery. [BOOT ANIMATION] Flashable boot animations. - xda-developers http://bit.ly/npcV00
i've looked through the theme and app section, seems really unorganized haha, the only thing of worth i've seen was the transpart sms.apk, but i'm not quite sure where to install and all that stuff.
Edit:
just flashed the cyan boot over, pretty cool.

Android 4.0 "Eye Sore"

Hey there, i have a nexus S 4G, im aware what im trying is a tiny SDK port, however when it comes down to it, ICS is ugly. Just so very ugly. I understand why it would appeal to minimalist perhaps but i mean when it comes down to it the icons have regressed into something that looks vanilla. Who makes a menu dark greyish blue and then has a contacts application with BABY blue and pure white in the background. When i used to click on peoples icons i would get intuitive popup menus leading to a list of contact methods I.E. Phone, SMS, Facebook, Gmail... now i get this light blue pop up with a picture and some low quality icons that look as though they have been made by baboons. ICS in the theme department is no doubt a regression from Gingerbread, then when i go to phone i get a black background..Where is the consistency?....Where is... everything looks bulky, like they made it friendly for the use of 70 year old people with cataracts... on a good note the hardware acceleration is nice, i like how smoothly all the application run..and how the new browsers functions when scroling..actually scrolling in everything is nice now. Again lack of any consistency when in the phone app on the keypad..diagonal 2 tone lines with thin blue text..i look at it and nearly vomit because my eyes cant focus...definet regression. If this is the future of android..i dont want it...Sorry guys, just wanted to speak my mind.
Edit: After using it for about a day, it's grown on me a bit, but it still needs some polishing in the theme department. I mean it's like they could make up there minds of what color trend to stick with. White and baby blue or blue gray with black. Please google, bring back some consistency. Everything else is nice. Digging the new SMS , I imagine it will look good black. can't wait for cyanogen to have a crack at it.

QFT. you're running a buggy SDK port of somehting that hasn't been released yet. and guess what?
that's what CUSTOM LAUNCHERS are for. you don't like something in android, you can CHANGE IT.
I think vanilla ICA is beautiful, but if you don't, well, go buy an HTC phone. or get ADW. i really don't care. stop hatin'. you're the minority.
Wow, you guys, its HIS opinion. If you don't agree with him, its not the end of the world. Honestly, I agree, it isn't very good looking at all. Just my 2 cents...
Agreed. It is his/her opinion and they have the right to it. And I for one agree with it. It is ugly but then I have not seen many stock android themes that weren't. As for being in the minority there I think your wrong. Look at how many custom themes there are for android. Only a small percentage stay on a stock theme.
Either way everyone has the right to what they think and should not and will not be flamed for it.
Nuff said
man, I don't know what you are on....I think the ICS theme is the nicest one so far!! Honestly, none of the stock vanilla android themes are pretty or aesthetically pleasing!! Froyo was just flat-out ass-ugly, imho!! At least they started trying to make it more intuitive and they are adding features that people are asking for....like the data monitor that can be broken down app-by-app....I love that!!! I now have unlimited data with sprint, but when I had at&t I can't count how many times I had screaming matches with customer service about my data usage!!
Like people said above....this is why apps like adw & launcher plus are around....use 'em!! They have hundreds of themes each

I'm not a fan of most of the changes either. DevBeat has an interview with Matias Duarte, where he discusses his reasoning, but I don't agree with some of it. I don't care that the phone and media apps are dark because they pop, and the Google apps are light to better match the web apps. IMO, they're all phone apps. They're installed on my phone (many of them preinstalled), they should be consistent.

Out of boredom (and a most-likely misguided sense that I know better than Google) I started redesigning everything and posting it to my blog. I'd appreciate feedback.

Well my initial response was quite negative also, but as you say, as time goes by you get used to it. Overall I believe it is quite an improvement over 2.x, and the dark themes and dark live wallpapers (eg bubbles) will look awesome on amoled screens.

Anyone else underwhelmed by the Jellybean OTA?

I've been underwhelmed by Jellybean as of late. I really don't see all of the "butter". If anything, it seems more laggy when I'm typing and I get a notification. It's self-evident Tegra 2 isn't near as powerful as Tegra 3, but I was hoping maybe Jellybean would be a huge improvement. It really seems exactly the same as ICS. We even still got stuck with the ICS wallpapers and ICS boot animation (which the boot animation makes sense since we're not an "official" nexus device, but it would've been nice regardless). Google Now is fun at first, but really I don't see why everyone was flipping out over it. The improved keyboard is still not as good as SwiftKey. The new launcher features I actually find annoying; when placing an icon, I don't want all of my others to get messed up. The bouncing temporary layout thing seems much too sensitive when I'm trying to just create a simple folder. The new browser is definitely faster thanks to V8, but the new quick controls are aggravating and I preferred the old ones where closing tabs and making new ones weren't as hidden. If anything, the new quick controls slow me down more. Chrome on Jellybean is the exact same as Chrome on ICS so I'm still using that over Browser. Am I missing any features added, or is this it? Anyone else notice any major changes except for a quicker recent apps menu?
Yeah, pretty much.
To me it looks like project butter is imitating what apple has been doing for years.
The animation is cached so it can launch quickly, giving the app time to do it's thing. It's an optical illusion.
I mean, on face value, it SEEMS to be smoother. But if you look closely you can see the lag behind the animations.

We are an official GED device, that's how we got JB.

Am I imagining things?...

I'm sure that, when I first booted up, my GNote 10.1 n8010 would have a a nice blue glow around various button presses. The apps button top right for example. Now however it is just a blue square. It's the same on all the buttons available across the top of the screen and I can't work out if I'm just imagining it so can one of you guys, (preferably running never rooted stock ROM) give your buttons a glancing press please, to help me scratch an itch?
I've just flashed to stock ROM 4.1.2 without clearing or formatting any data and there's no change in UI. Still, perhaps not surprisingly still the same issue.
In the past I've rooted a handful of times but never installed any custom ROMs.
Assuming I'm not imagining it, do any of you clever folk have a fix I can use or a lead on finding one? I have a bee in my bonnet.
Thanks,
Snow
Brain is itching...
If you read this and your icons are the blue glowing type please can you just confirm for me? Just so that I can stop driving myself insane over it. I've searched all over the shop and can't find anything on it.
Thanks,
Perhaps you were probably running ICS when you first bought it and now it's been upgraded to JB?
Thanks Kenny, I did update to the latest firmware after buying my Note so maybe that is it. I really like that blue glow effect over the current ugly blue block background. It can look really messy, almost glitch-like if you use a wallpaper that doesn't go well with the mud blue they used.
I'm wondering if there is a way to theme this stuff myself. I assume there is else there'd be no custom ROMs about. Can anyone please point me in the general direction of where I can learn how to do this?
