While the Xperia ™ S has a Qualcomm processor S3, the Xperia ™ P ™ U Xperia and Xperia ™ single have a U8500 processor NovaThor ™ ST-Ericsson. The NovaThor ™ U8500 is the first to be compatible with OpenGL ES 2.0 and integrates a multi-core GPU that provides 2D and 3D acceleration with scalable performance up to 1080p resolution.
The NovaThor ™ U8500 is based on a dual core processor DB8500 ARM ® Cortex ™-A9 SoC (System on Chip) with a GPU ARM ® Mali ™ 400MP and an integrated modem HSPA + / 4G with support for 14 Mbps and the responsible for the audio chip, USB, power and functions of the SIM card.
The platform integrates NovaThor ™ U8500 single chip and a dual core processor at 1GHz, the first smartphone platform to integrate dual-core technology with symmetric multi-processing graphics accelerator with high performance 3D.
A platform to enable symmetric multi-processing (SMP) as the NovaThor ™ U8500, allows different processes on different processors divided according to certain performance requirements and energy. A great advantage of SMP for mobile applications is a more energy efficient, it will be really visible by the end user.
The multi-process NovaThor ™ U8500 processor uses lower voltages and allow users to perform many more tasks with a single battery charge. Instead of having a single processor at full capacity to execute a task, several processors can work at half speed, while controlling the temperature of the terminal.
So NovaThor ™ U8500 platform can provide the same performance as a single core CPU faster, but using much less energy.

[Q] (2d/3dgraphics) why MTK6575 > Adreno 200 > MTK6577(SGX531) (Antutu benhcmark)
I'm seeing some videos about china's phones with MTK6575 and MTK6577 processors:
They both uses PowerVRTM SGX Series5' GPUs(SGX531) (and i've heard MTK6575 may use SGX530 ultra, which is overclocked, i dont know if this is exactly what sgx531 means...)
But on ANTUTU benchmarks of phones with these processors i've seen some curious results:
MTK6577 has the lower results:
2d graphics: 296
3d graphics: 895
Android: 4.0.4
Even my Motorola Defy Mini(600 mhz + adreno 200) has higher results, MUCH HIGHER:
2d graphics: 405
3d graphics: 989
Android 2.3.6
In MTK6575:
2d: 181
3d graphics: 963(higher than MTK6577)
Android 4.0.3
In MTK6575:
2d: 317(higher than MTK6577)
3d graphics: 977(higher than MTK6577)
Android 4.0.4
But this one from a suspicious video which shows the results without the tests:

Any tip why?

Benchmark results are heavily dependent on software - like what version of Android, what version of GPU drivers, what optimizations are present, etc. So you can't directly do benchmark comparison of different chipsets, running different versions of Androids and expect them to reflect their hardware power.
Here's the phone in action https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2HsfaMzR4zY&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Sent from my I7100 using xda app-developers app
This is my score (MTK6577, SGX531 and 512MB RAM)
Alcatel OT-997D I bought recently, don't know why its slower? MTK6577, SGX531, 1GB RAM.
Oh, and android 4.0.4

Qualcomm has announced the latest additions to the Snapdragon processor line. These will be the Snapdragon 808 and 810, which Qualcomm is touting as being "The Ultimate Connected Computing." Similar to what we've seen from the Snapdragon 800 tier up until this point, the 808 an 810 will be for high-performance.
The highlights for the Snapdragon 808 and 810 include them being 64-bit enabled and with integrated Cat 6 LTE advanced. Some of the other points shared across both of these include support for the Qualcomm RF360 Front End solution, and support for 3x20MHz Carrier Aggregation, which enabled speeds up to 300Mbps. They are also both designed using the 20nm technology node.
But perhaps the best news for some -- Qualcomm is pushing how these have been "tightly integrated and optimized for exceptionally low power consumption that does not sacrifice performance." Sitting below are some highlights for each of these;
Snapdragon 808
Designed for WQXGA (2560 x 1600) displays
Setup with a pair of ARM Cortex-A57 cores and a quad Cortex A-53 CPU
Will include Adreno 418GPU with support for OpenGL ES 3.1hardware tessellation, geometry shaders, programmable blending
LPDDR3 memory
Frame buffer compression and external 4K display support using HDMI 1.4
12-bit dual Image Signal Processors
Snapdragon 810
Will combine 64-bit quad-core ARM Cortex-A57 CPUs and Cortex-A53 CPUs
Will use Adreno 430 GPU and have been designed for 4K displays
LPDDR4 memory
4K display support using HDMI1.4
Will be the first mobile platform to use Qualcomm VIVE 2-stream 802.11ac with multi-user MIMI (for WiFi efficiency)
Support for Bluetooth 4.1, USB 3.0, NFC and Qualcomm IZat (location core for improved accuracy on location services)
Qualcomm mentioned the Snapdragon 808 and 810 will "begin sampling in the second half of 2014." And then from that point, they are expected to arrive in devices "by the first half of 2015."

Geekbench question

Can someone explain to me, how is possible note 4 have much higher score than note 20 ultra? My note 4 have single score 1076 and multi score 3489. When Note 20 ultra have Single about 800 and Multi 2700. What's wrong?
Thanks in advance.
What OS is the N4 running on?
What about the N20U?
Is all power management disabled on the N20?
You have run the CPU-benchmark on 2 devices which have different chipset hardware
Samsung Galaxy Note 4
Qualcomm APQ8084 Snapdragon 805 (28 nm)
Exynos 5433
Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra
Qualcomm SM8250 Snapdragon 865+ (7 nm+) - USA
Exynos 990 (7 nm+) - Global
Like other CPU benchmarks, GeekBench 5 runs a series of tests on a CPU and times how long the CPU takes to complete the tasks. The quicker the CPU completes the tests, the higher the GeekBench score.
The tests are divided into three subsections:
Crypto Crypto workloads measure the cryptographic instruction performance of your computer by performing tasks that make heavy use of crypto instructions. While not all software uses crypto instructions, the software that does can benefit enormously from it.
Integer Integer workloads measure the integer instruction performance of your computer by performing processor-intensive tasks that make heavy use of integer instructions. All software makes heavy use of integer instructions, meaning a high integer score indicates good overall performance.
Floating Point Floating point workloads measure floating point performance by performing a variety of processor-intensive tasks that make heavy use of floating-point operations. While almost all software makes use of floating point instructions, floating point performance is especially important in video games, digital content creation, and high-performance computing applications.
OK...I will be more specific...
