Hi,
I have recently purchased a new NEXTBOOK Premium 8 it doesn't give me the option to set a static ip on this device.
On all other devices that are running ics the option in modify network displays show advanced options but on this nextbook you don't have those options.
Could someone tell me whether I need to root this device to get this functionality?
or if there is another way around this issue.
many thanks

What do you think the best Android iPod touch alternative is? The device would preferably have ICS and a camera.

I would probably say Samsung Galaxy Player 5 or Samsung Galaxy Player 4 depending on which screen size your prefer they have essentially the same specs otherwise. Both have a 3.2 mp camera and while they run gingerbread you can root it and put ICS on it. Most "ipod touch" like android devices other then then the Samsung Galaxy Player series tend to unfortunately be poorly made, and laggy and buggy as hell. The Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0 and 5.0 forums would probably be a good place to start.
And this guide should be a big help:
[GUIDE][01.07.2012]The Samsung Galaxy Player/S Wifi 4.0, 5.0 All-In-One Thread
Sony Live With Walkman? 720p vid 5mpx cam 1ghz proccessor has ICS Bravia Engine..
you could just get a nexus s 4G with a bad ESN with the ICS update
I have an One S by contract with virgin mobile in australia.it the s3. But the screen solution is not 960x540, it 888x540 with 240dpi. The Htc say that it about the handset but i dont know what is that about. I ask them again but no respone till now so I would like to ask someone can tell me about that and how to boost the cpu speed to improve performance when i play Inotia 4 plus. Thks for you reading

Probably the pixels missing are used to display the 3-dot menu, if you check resolution in an app that supports ICS properly you'll see all the vertical pixels. Don't know if there is an overclockable kernel available for the S3 yet, check out the Back to basic ROM in development section.

Hi there, as I know of I believe HDMI is not working on the sense 4 roms. What you can do is check each Rom that your interested in and check there "bug" list. Usually HDMI is on the list meaning it's not functioning . But check and see of Any got it working by looking at that list on the first page of the Rom and its site. You can find them in sensation android development. Each Rom has a site with that list and it will tell you weather or not HDMI is functioning. If you don't see it on the list then it IS functioning. I really hope this helps And best wishes!

Hello XDA-Gurus, just wanted to know if it is posible to get Best Photo and Best Group Pose functions on our Notes? If so, is anyone able to do it?
Does it requiere additional hardware? is just a software function?
Would like to hear what you think?
I also wanted that feature.

XL is very good phone ,i have it around 2 months and i can say it's great for playing games.Asphalt 8 works on high ,but the camera qualitity isn't satisfacting me.Photos woth good light are really nice ,but on low light they isn't that great. Sometimes on my router wi-fi si disconnecting for 3-5 sec and then it connect ,but this does not happen often. I hope sony relase a bugfix update for us ,thats all from me ,hope this can little help. btw the new fifa 14 works too without lags
Well, here it goes: Xperia L is the best mid-range phone available. Despite its annoying issues, such as low sensitivity touch and camera issues, it rocks. It flies with the Snapdragon processor and the Adreno 305 GPU. However, if you're looking for custom ROMs, you better look for another phone, since we haven't got developers attention yet. So, it certainly is a nice phone, but it has it pros and cons. Hope this helps.

imo, i'd say either spend a bit more & go for Xperia SP.
OR
wait for Xperia C.
btw..Xperia L has a serious bug regarding its internal storage ( apparently, it could be solved by rooting, not sure though.. )

For me it's not, after rooting there in no problem. He can go for sp if he have more money ,but don't buy xperia c it is quadcore but inside the phone is a mediatek, which is ****ty cpu and have low development and support. If he you want to save some mony he should buy xperia m ,xperia l,but he didn't, better go for a nexus 4 than a sp.Xperia L for me is enough fast
