What are you looking for in a ROM? Customization(CM7 obviously), stock with a little more oomph?(Oxygen, Bugless Beast).
Here's a list of some of them:

My personal favorite is Devnull ...

Good battery life and speed

I've only ever tried Oxygen and Blandroid. I think the former was a little bit faster and compared to what I'm getting to ICS, battery life was phenomenal. Lol.

Oxygen. General consensus is it's probably one of the best Gingerbread ROMs for the NS.

I had Franco's kernel on it when I was using it. The stock kernel is pretty good too.
The link is for the GSM version which I'm assuming you have.
Nexbreed works fine. Download it in Rom Manager

Why are current 2.3.5 i9000 roms better then 2.2? I loved having serendipity 6.4 and Firefly 3.0 on my cappy. I cant remember if the battery life was better then the i9000 roms. Id use the current 2.3.5 leaked roms for the cappy but they do not support BLN and I need that.
Im on andromeda right now. I've flashed tons of gb roms but andromeda3 still seems to be the best all around for me. (Personal opinion of course )

+1. Its my current daily driver as well. It just seems to be one of the last well supported 2.2 based Roms. It really is nice.
You guys should really try CyanogenMod 7, it's probably the smoothest experience for the Captivate yet.
Is there anybody who's tried both the above mentioned ROMs for their HOS?
If so, could you please provide some apples to apples comparison and any obvious strengths that either might have.. Any pointers re: Energy ROM would help too.
Thanks!!:highfive:
Why don't u try them both out urself? Both are amazing I'm on leedroid right now and love it never changed eem hard Use I get 4hrs battery life and his new update releasing soon looks very promising then again trickdroid is really good too and is a bettery saver Rom with 50 suma tweaks I've heard
Best thing to do try em both yaself

LeeDroid's is VERY old. I guess he might be coming back to update it soon... If you want a T-Mo ROM, try Axiom S; extremely good battery and performance.
Leedroid is awesome .. hadn't been updated in awhile though. God comparison to trickdroid. Correct me If I'm wrong since its been awhile but leedroid has a bunch of tweaks as well..
Trickdroid is my go to Rom as of late. Very good Rom all around and plenty of tweaks to make your device well your device.
I'm currently on axiom s Rom. Getting about the same battery.life as the other two. Just don't have a teak package. You have to dl the individual tweak.
Hope it helps. Try them all out until you find the one you like .

You don't want to stray out of this set of forums. International one x roms could easily brick your phone.

Until we get the kernel source for the 4.0.4 I think sense 4.1 based roms are going to give the best performance and battery life. I do prefer aosp based roms but what is the point if you end up sacrificing all the things that aosp roms are supposed to give you just to get away from sense.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Yea I ended up going with aokp 4.0.4 and well after a day I actually missed some things from sense so went back to my backup
I think the reason I was skeptical of sense was because of touchwiz on my old skyrocket
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
What ROM did you decide on? I flashed pretty much all the available ROMs for our phone and found myself coming back to CleanROM 4.5. The CleanMODS definitely adds value and it's very good on battery too. Usually get about 16hours of moderate use and she's down to about 35% at the end of the day.
Also, Sense 4.0/4.1 is much better than any of the other OEM skins (TouchWIZ, Blurr, etc..) as it's the most intuitive of all the skins. Prefer it to AOSP Android now because it's just as snappy with so much functionality included. Ran AOSP ROMs on my old DZ because Sense 2.0, 2.1, 3.0, 3.5 were all crap and bloated; as soon as Sense 4.0 came out, it was like HTC finally got the message.
+1 for CleanRom.
Do your homework. The ScottsRoms CleanRom 4.5 DE had everything I wanted and nothing else to bog it down.
I'm also an APEX believer now for the fact that it restored my desktop after an upgrade.
hey all, looking to flash the most stable rom for the inspire out there! anyone wanna give me a few good stable roms?
Anything gingerbread is rock solid. ClearDroid and Virtuous Unity are my favorite for Sense and Gingerbeast and Absolution rock if you want to be senseless. The ICS roms are stable enough for daily use but might have small issues that keep them from being the right choice for you. Personally, I love Redemption but there are others that have more active development. I haz not tried jellybean but I would guess that is the same or worse when compared to ICS. You will have to try some out and see what works best for you.

Anything based on stock will be the most stable. 2.47.502.7 and 3.20.502.52. Att just released the last base with sense 3.0. I'm on blackout Ics right now and really am enjoying it. It is sense and Ics. But as always try them out and see what you like. No single rom is for everyone.
The one you find stable when you try them out. Anything else is strictly opinion and these threads are not allowed

Not necessarily, his phone is the same model, but they aren't the same exact device. Also, that isn't necessarily true, at&t's last update was completely broken and unstable. Any rom in the section was made to work with our phone and can run it just as good as an at&t built rom. Most times better.

I agree that 2.47.502.7 was buggy and I did not like it even when devs re cooked it. As for the last update 3.20.502.52 or even the original Rom they ran flawlessly. And to use roms with these bases was really all I was saying to him. Just stick to roms built off of these for the most stable experience. I've spent quite amount of time unrooted and also running every Rom you could possibly flash on this device and when I am on an actual inspire base every part of the phone runs the way it should ( with the exception of 2.47.502.7). I think we agree, I just meant roms based off stock, not necessarily stock itself.
As for what Rom to run that differs all together. I'm on an Ics sense Rom that was never intended for our device but I'm willing to live with a little instability for more options and Ics

Stable roms = Gingerbread
Small issue roms = ICS and JellyBean
Is all you need to know. We can use DHD roms on our Inspires if you want to take look at that forum as well.
You will have to test a rom out for yourself cause what may be awesome to one person may be utter crap to others its yp to your preference.

Yes I agree. Gingerbread is most stable. Some dhd base though have minor issues like agps not updating accurately, scanner apps not reading barcodes, battery drain, intermittent WiFi/data issues, Sound problems.. etc. Nothing major though. My favorite dhd base was the sense 3.0 update they got. Runs the smoothest imo. Sense 3.5 and up gets a little clunky.

Yeah I really do like 3.5. The options are definitely worth it. I used to be on bindroid team and we had it running pretty good. I haven't tried any gb based ones recently I bet they got em running pretty smooth now.

As stated before, Gingerbread ROMs are generally more stable than ICS ROMs. That said, my favorite is Primo-S v3.5. Its ICS + Sense 4.0A. Its not the most stable mod out there, but extremely stable, enough t be used as a daily driver. The most stable I've tried is of course Cyanogenmod 7. Second is Android Revolution HD.

Yeah, ICS seems smoother, but if i check my battery in settings it says that the android system uses almost 70-80% of my battery and my screen, wifi, cell standby etc.. uses only 1%
In my opinion ICS is by far better than GB, mainly because it is less buggy and operates more quickly.
Enjoy.
If you think the other way ICS is too resource demanding and the battery consumption is pretty much more than it used to be in GB. But nowadays ICS is at least needed for some apps to work Eg: Google Chrome. But as majority of all apps supports GB too, its all about personal preference.
