Can any one help me.
My asus eee pad transformer tf101 will not boot up. All it will do is have the asus and the little circle loading sign going for hours i have restarted it a couple of times and is still not loading up. Can anyone help me find a way to fix it without loosing all my data.
What got you to this point?
Recovery might be your only option.

I have the same problem.
My tablet when on charge will repeatedly come on and show the "eepad screen" then the "asus" screen with the rotating circle then it turns off with a click.
I have tried starting the cold reboot etc but the tablet turns off and start again before it can do its thing.
I currently have the Android logo coming on instead of the asus screen. the android with a swirling stomach.
but the machine turns off before I get anywhere,
My tablet is out of warranty so sending it back to Asus isnt an option.
My question is
If I open the tablet is there a way to blank the tablet using the hardware inside.
If this happened on my windows laptop I could blank the hard drive and start from scratch in the bios or tell the machine to boot from disc and do a reinstall. Can this type of thing be done on the tablet.
thanks

Hey all,
Just got a Eee Pad TF101 from Amazon and upgraded to 3.2 (OTA upgrade - stock ROM from Asus). Almost every time I put it into sleep mode, it would hard restart itself (reboot into the Asus logo).
Does anyone have this issue? This is seriously annoying. Would appreciate any help to fix or at least identify the cause of this.
Thanks!

How about after trying a Factory Recovery without installing any apps? It still reboots when you press to sleep mode?
Does the same thing happen when the tablet naturally goes into sleep mode because of inactivity? If not, how are you putting it in sleep? It should take only a momentary push of the power button. Hold it down for too long and you reboot the unit.

Yep, tried that, and that doesn't help with the random reboot problem.

Both (inactivity and momentary push of the power button) would often (about 50% of the time, and you can imagine how frustrating it is) send the Eee Pad to sleep of death, and then it would reboot itself.
This is happening to me also. I'm just about ready return my eee pad.
It happens to me too. Doesn't matter what build or whether its 3.1 or 3.2. Very annoying
My first transformer unit has the same problem and tried everything but nothing sucesfull.
The other two units (the second has touch problems) not suffered that problem.
Had the same issue with my Transformer several times on 3.1 and also once on 3.2. Moved to Prime 1.7 and it seems to be gone
I have read on other forums that this maybe caused by a microSD card. Is everyone having this problem have a MicroSD card inserted into the slot?
RMA is the best route. It shouldnt be boot looping like this.
i had this problem, and got progressively worse...i had to RMA to get them to fix it...supposedly, they replaced my main board.

My transformer is unrooted (doing an rma). I tried to boot into apx mode. Nothing came up on my pc screen was just blank on the TF. Rebooted it and now I am stuck at a password screen which I never set. I have an rma and was getting this thing ready to send out.
I have no idea why its doing this. When I boot with vol - it just goes to the little android guy with an "!"
???

**Ok so I solved it, you need to do the vol- power thing. But I always kept pushing vol + right away when the white letters came up. I didn't do that this time and the wipe option came up!
when you go into apx mode, it's normal for the screen to stay black. until you execute the nvflash command...in which case (iirc) the screen should display something.
make sure you're following the instructions to the letter.

Sorry my usb port is broken. I was just testing if anything would happen in APX. When it came out it had an option to wipe or something about linux. I had never seen that so I held down the power. I need to get back to that screen to do the wipe but I can't.
Nobody knows what the password is? Or what to do?
Edited OP.
Still can't get it back
Hi,
It seems to be the only thread about this matter here. I'm new here, but I swear I tried to find any other problem like mine.
I also looked it up on other websites and blogs. I even tried to unbrick my Transformer, even though I'd done nothing that could brick it.
The thing is: I got that same screen asking me for a password that I have never set up. I tried the "vol- power" thing to wipe the data and nothing changed. My attempt to unbrick the tablet was also pointless.
I am kind of desperate right now. My Transformer was bought by some relative in the US last year - meaning I have no way to complain about it on the store. And I have never done anything that was not official in it. Someday, somehow it simply stopped working. At first was that black screen, but a ~7 seconds power button did the job.
Now I've got this really annoying password asking. It's giving me nightmares.
Please help. Please.
Thank you.
password screen
i am also stuck at this password screen when i didnt not set any password for my transformer. i had started it up in the am no problem and then it froze around noon and then when i rebooted it, it came to this password screen, and nothing works, I have talked to the guys over at transformer forums and they said that i should try to go in it through my computer but my computer doesnt seem to recognize it either. I dont know what to do and i feel like i have a 500 dollar paper weight...can anyone help? its a tf101 32 g asus transformer
Help, i'm no techie but i've tried the options provided here, gone back to the seller and also rung Asus tech help and still no resolve..
My asus eee pad transformer started crashing from the first day i bought it however thinking that it was android and not pc or mac, that this was to be expected? thought also that because it was new, maybe i needed to download software or something to make it complete. anyway, several things from the start happened:
1. if i put it in sleep mode, the battery would die after several hours and need recharging by the next day
2. it crashed alot and i would just restart from the power button
3. eventually (8 weeks) after owning, it crashed as usual and i restarted as usual but this time it got stuck in reboot mode (shows ASUS logo and circling dots) and nothing else.
4. i read about the power and volume button fixes so i tried that, didn't work.
5. tried sticking a memory card in the side in the hopes that it might 'boost' the memory or something to give it some oomph to get past booting up
6. tried sticking a pin in the side reset hole but nothing happened.
7. the seller told me once unboxed it wasn't their problem
8. asus told me to hard reset (see point 6)
I'm afraid i don't understand terms like bricking and cold reboot and nvflash but i follow the instructions posted on the forums regardless in the hopes that i haven't spent £400 in vein?
Can anyone help a non-techie with this problem??
Yesterday, while using the Feedly app, i went to rotate the screen and the app froze. Then the entire screen went gray and the device became unresponsive. Finally it self rebooted and then i did a cold boot. I couldn't link to my wifi extender and it would revert to my router. No matter what i did, password, forget etc, it wouldn't connect to the extender. Yet all other devices work great with it. Even did a factory reset and still wont connect.
Any ideas how to remedy this?
