Okay so since I went from my stock firmware of 2.3.5 to a custom ROM(NexusMod ICS Zero) and flashed the Blaze 4G ICS Radio) my phones screen has been getting really hot. Is there something wrong? What should I do? Thanks.

Insall AnTuTu CPU master and check to see CPU temps and battery temps. I've had something similar happen to my Atrix and it was getting stuck on max Ghz and wasn't scaling down.
Is 105° battery temp normal?

What's the outdoor temp? Lol. You must live in a sauna
I live in New York. Maybe its because it was on the charger. Now its off the charger and down to 97°

Hey peeps... I usually use my WiFi when I'm home and mostly I've been using WiFi for the past two days.. I noticed that when I first got the phone, it was already on 4g and that's when I noticed it was really hot in the back... After turning 4g off and using edge and WiFi, it never got hot really... Now I noticed I'm using 4g and its blazing hot... Had to turn it off again. This May have to go back to the store. I paid 648 and I'm wondering of I really pushed it..... Can ya'll put ya'll phones on 4g and play around with it and let me know how yallz turn out?

I would just wait. give the phone a few days. my g2 would get so hot i dropped it once.. and it was UC'd. The battery will adapt hopefully. if not a system update SHOULD fix the problem.
+1
So hot you can cook on it..... i'm kidding, but it is scary thou
same here, battery gets really hot regardless of 4G on/off. But it does get especially hot when I put it in my pocket, or when I get to places where coverage sucks, the signal just craps out on me.
So I wonder are we all going to ignore this because we like the phone so much...... If it continues, I think ya'll should find the courage to return it. It's not fare to consumers if they didn't test it good enough to know about heating issues.
Many sensation fanboys or girls will get angry cause I'm saying this but its just being honest. I loooove the phone.. it's just a hot plate and laggy at times... For almost 700 dollars? Smh

Give it some time. Mine showed some early heating but since using it a ton the past few days no heat. I wanted to discharge the battery completely last night so I watched Jackie Brown on Netflix. Streamed via 4g for two hours with Bluetooth on for my headset and full bright. Never got hot.

This is why I'm really hoping they work on better battery management for phones coming out in 2012. Does anybody really need a 2ghz quadcore phone when there battery will just die in 3 hrs? I'm perfectly content on 1ghz cpu's(there fast enough) hopefully with any luck future phone displays, cpus, gpus, etc all work together on ICS to bring a couple days of real time use, instead of just a couple hours without having to buy extended batteries/charge etc..

That's what I'm saying man. They're moving too fast with these processor cores. I say, take a year off on engineering processors and spend that time on extending battery life and make better batteries. I'm more than content with dual cores as it is.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
Best way to extend battery life is to work on the cpu. If you shrink the cpu the it will use less watts per cycle. Also nvidia made a smart upgrade with its quad core by putting in a fifth slow main core. So work in parallel. Engineers work on making the cpu efficient and programmers should stop being lazy. It's not like these companies can't multi task
Sent from my NookColor using xda premium
They said the same thing about dual core saving battery life, that was a joke! Only way I get decent battery life is with my 3500mah extended.
Still I do agree that those 28nm krait s4 chips should take less battery usage, but I'm talking about more then just achieving much longer overall battery life from multiple factoring issues android has(better displays, gpu, cpu, larger stock OEM batteries,ui,etc) hopefully ICS and jellybean really step up to provide the ultimate android experience without having to charge our phones every 4-6 hr's lol

Sent from my G2x running EaglesBlood 2.5
I am using eaglesbloods latest and using morfics elp kernel. I only get battery life like this when I'm in good service areas all day fyi. When I install a rom I really like, I erase the entire phone, reformat everything literally, then load the rom and kernel from USB mount in clockwork mod. I feel its best to have a completely clean flash. Then I charge the phone to 100 and calibrate battery stats. Some days I get battery life where I'm at 20% at 20 hours, others much much better. I'm always using the phone moderately. When I first read tthis and checked I was at 60% at 20 hours. Tried to post a screenshot bur it wouldn't work ... def. not pulling your left though. Also the only thing I sync is email every half hour. I uninstalled Facebook because it always runs in the background... makes me uncomfortable.

I noticed my phone got pretty uncomfortably hot when I had it plugged in my car charger and using the turn-by-turn navigation. At that time I didn't have an app to measure the temp though. I'm going on a trip this weekend so perhaps I'll be able to get some hard data.
In general though it does get pretty warm when it's charging. I'm not too surprised by that since the phone is so thin..

Hello I just got my gs4 on Saturday and I have to say that im not as impressed as I thought I would be.
The phone gets quite hot during almost anything. Also is no where near as snappy as my rooted inspire (1.0 ghz single core with less than 1 gb ram). This phone is awesome as far as opening more draining apps like facebook.
I wouldn't think that rooting is needed to be quicker than a 2.5 year old phone...
At this point im considering trading it in for a gs3 or htc one....
And mine is definitely laggy

If it's getting very hot with little usage then I'd exchange it for another.
Also, an update was released today that pretty much solved the lag issues..
Mine got pretty warm last night while playing a simple solitaire game...
It was also eating battery pretty fast.
I rebooted it and it seemed to go away.

mine gets stupid hot for the smallest things I surf the web for about five mins and you cant even put up to your ear to make a call TO HOT.. I returned it and got it exchanged and that device is also getting way to hot. IDK 7 more days and I.m stuck with it... any other phone would be a downgrade.

Unless you dont mind being mocked for talking on a tablet I would avoid any phone larger than the s4. The note two has its place and it to me is only worthwhile if you carry a purse.... it's a great device but not practical in my opinion, I mean how do you carry that thing?

I wish I wasnt as affected but I hate when ppl comment on how large my phone is...and I think its because I agree and wish it was smaller. A 4.5 or so with the the same build as this s4 would be mich nicer. And by that I mean a screen that efficiently uses the face of the phone.
Its really tough to determine what is the he perfect size screen and I think over time we will become more tolerant of the pocket consumption. I mean look at the inspire or other older 4.2...it was huge for its time but now its really not considered that anymore.
With that said for the time being I think 4.5 with the smallest possible chassis would be the best.
