AT&T selling out of One X online already? - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Saw this little blurb on HTCpedia can honestly say that I'm not too surprised. This phone is beyond awesome...
HTCpedia said:
Some AT&T users who are looking for the HTC One X are getting some bad news from the AT&T online store. AT&T is currently out of stock on the HTC One X at their online store. I knew that the HTC was selling good, not that good.
The HTC One X's only real competition that is available to purchase right now is.... nothing. Okay, there is one smartphone that can compete with the HTC One X right at this moment and it is the HTC One S.

Wow.

Yeah, I noticed it yesterday when I was looking for accessories on AT&T's website. AC has an article too:
http://www.androidcentral.com/att-htc-one-x-out-stock-online
I hoping they just sold out and there isn't an issue with the initial batch of phones.

Well lets just say a few days ago I was at target and the lady said they sold out so fast she never even had time to replace the plaque that had the "coming soon" shown in front of phone. So she just left it there since she couldn't keep them in stock.
Yesterday I went to look online to see which best buy had this phone in stock for a friend of mine, and out of the nearest 10 best buys around me, they were all sold out.
I think this phone even with its relatively low press coverage compared to phones like Tmobile's One S is doing really well.

Yeah, I've been checking stock elsewhere and it seems it has just been doing really well. I'm glad I went and got it when I did.

just picked mine up today just come to vermont lol

I bought mine and got lucky that I looked at it and the guy set it aside for me till launch day. Only had 2 in the store and the other was pre-ordered.
I talked to him the other day and he said people keep coming in for one.

Yeah, I might do that. I hear Vermont has jobs as well.

I've been meaning to exchange my grey for a white HOX and all the stores I called are OOS

I went to an AT&T store in downtown Washington DC the next day the One X was released ( I believe it was a Monday) and they were sold out.

It's more likely they've been taken off the shelf to push the new update that fixes WiFi and messaging.
I really doubt the phone is selling out. When I picked mine up they told me I was the first person to buy it. Sadly, all the other customers were just there for iPhones.

I went to 5 different AT&T stores yesterday trying to find a white one. Every store said the phone has been selling like crazy. Every rep I talked to was interested in the phone and wanted to buy one for personal use.
I'm glad to see this phone selling well, it definitely deserves it.

I've been to many brick-n-mortars (AT&T, Radioshack, Best Buy) looking for accessories and all the employees were asking me about it. Employees at stores that don't have "live" models on display, like RS and BB, even wanted to check my HOX out.

It's a great phone. My local store had them in stock on release day. I was in yesterday for a swap, and they still had a couple available. Even in MS this is a popular phone.

Ordered online will local store replace?

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this. I ordered my phone online and it has a dead pixel. Do you guys think my local store will exchange for another one? I did not buy with a contract. I would hate to go with out my phone...especially now that I am loving THIS phone.
what store did you order it from? i think most national chains will replace your stuff in store. not positive though.
Amazon is very good about exchanges within 30 days if that's where you got it. Otherwise you can call 611 I had one captivate replaced by amazon and one by AT&T

If you ordered from AT&T online a cor store will exchange for you. If you purchased from an agent like Wirefly they will not.

Hey gunny! I followed you on the captivate and now have an inspire. What I did fellows is speak with an account executive about my ****ty captivates performance and they offered me the inspire for the contract price. Great deal and awesome phone. I am kind of bummed that I found a dead pixel. So it appears a core store will exchange? I hate to exchange it....over one stuck pixel. Hope they don't think I'm being a **** or anything. I just know its gonna bother me down the road.
Ugh. I got like 3 dead pixels stuck on the top right corner, barely noticeable...but I notice it. did you get it replaced?

Yeah. I just got back from the retail store about an hour ago. It kind of sucked because the pixel was so small and they could hardly see it. It was stuck in green which didn't help. I have very good eye sight. I can even see the pixels on the iPhone 4 screen. Eventually they were able to see it and replaced the phone. They were amazed at how I got the phone without a contract though.

I wouldnt be a happy camper if they had a mother's day sale. That's because it haven't been three weeks since they started offering the phone and I just bought mine on contract, which paid for.

No deals until Fathers Day from what my buddy who is a store manager at a local TMobile store told me. Reason being is probably because Dads and technology go together.

Any status on when AT&T will have One X back in stock?

Does anyone have any idea when AT&T will have One X back in stock?
I'm gonna go ahead and say they will be back in stock any day now. If the EVO passed Customs, then I would imagine the One X did as well. They are probably have already went through the distribution center and are probably in transit and/or in the process of loading the trucks for shipment to the stores.

Why pay extra to get the phone from AT&T. Amazon Wireless has the One X in gray for $119 - in stock. At least according to their website anyway.
A lot of Best Buy stores and Best Buy Mobile mall stores have them in stock now

It can be had at AT&T for $550 (depending on region I would think). I only see it for $580 on Amazon (but not Amazon Wireless). Although it says "In Stock" on Amazon Wireless, it is not showing the "Add to Cart" option.

well call me crazy but what if ATT takes advantage of the customs fiasco and decides to scrap the One X for good? Reasons:
1) They dont care about HTC. ATT has been actively pushing WP as a leverage against Apple and w Nokia and M$ spending a lot of money to promote their Lumina 900 ATT can be comfortably relying on that device. ATT is getting at least 2 new phones in the next few months: Sony Xperia Ion and Samsung Plasticky S3 and both Samsung and Sony have more money to promote their phones than HTC.
2) High returning rate due to people complaining about multitasking.
3) ATT gets annoyed about the locked BL protest.
4) They dont care. Back to reason 1.
Seems to me the One X is doomed this year. This is only my perspective from reading all the threads in the HOXL's forum. Get a totally different vibe from the HOX's and EVO4GLTE's forums.
With the amount of research and testing and promoting it takes to launch a phone... Your theory is not realistic.

Phone companies pay for exclusivity, the AT&T HOX is currently exclusive to AT&T in the US, they would not willingly let that go to waste.

Right. And plus, it seems to be a popular device. It's a device they won't lose money on that's for sure and any extra money is worth it.
I don.t think that would happen. Average user doesnt care about most of those things.

[Q] HTC One S or wait?

Well, as most of you know, the HTC One X+ was announced today. Would it be stupid to buy an One S or should I wait for a One S+?
Many Thanks,

I just got this phone yesterday and I love it. imo I think the one x looks better but I love how compact this phone is for how big the screen is. cant go wrong that. as far as im concerned the one x+ still isn't too much of an upgrade besides its hd screen
I think you can't go wrong with either. The One X does feel good and solid and the bigger screen is awesome too. But the One S is so thin and sexy; even with a case. I went back to stock for the new update and this thing is even faster.
In my opinion, the only reason somebody would get a One X is because of the bigger screen. Even though the One is is marketed below the One X, it certainly does not feel or operate like it.
I don't think there will be a One S+. The way I see it, the One X+ was a small bump that gave the US a non-LTE but Tegra3 version. If you want the big screen, I would wait, but I'm really happy with the One S for the already stated reasons.
These can be found for $250 on craigslist. Buy it now sell it later without losing a dime.

I purchase both my Nexus One and my Nexus S on craigslist. Its up to the buyer to make sure they don't get scammed. I take someone with me so I don't get robbed/jumped and I make sure the phone is working and I can make a call before money is even shown. Craigslist is a wonderful place to get stuff. The only people that get scammed on there are the gullible ones.

I just got a new one from craigslist a couple days ago, nothing wrong with getting stuff off of CL.. especially since phones come with a 1 year manufacture warranty if there is a issue with it (besides cracked screens).
Just bought HTC One S from a "nice" dude I found on Craigslist. The guy apparently works for T-Mobile, and we completed the transaction at a T-Mobile store. I paid $275 for a brand new HTC One S. I wanted a Galaxy S3 originally but getting a One S for around 60% of a GS3 price feels good. It's a good phone for the price for sure.
HTC One S is a great phone, if you enjoy compacted efficiency.
This phone is great IMO it all comes down to what you like, go on YouTube watch some reviews and see what you think.

You can always rendezvous with the craiglist seller in a bank or ATM machines as there are always camera's there and you can verify the phone is legit and then get the money from the ATM and that way if you ever have to file a complaint, you will have the time and hopefully the camera captured you and the seller doing the transaction in the bank lobby

As much as this Craigs list thing is hijacking the thread I suppose I'll participate..Just meet inside a McDonald's. Public, cameras, plenty to choose from. But always, always put your SIM and micro sd in and check all functions first.

HTC One XL FREE - Walmart.com

Just wanted to pass this on... I had sold my HOX waiting for the Nexus or G and well as many can see I just don't trust LG to many things being written.
Anyway I was cruising through Walmart.com and found that they are offering the At&t version FREE (no sales tax) just need to add a line or open a new two year.
I put in my order I should of just stayed with the good thing I had.
Happy Shopping if your' interested that is...

AT&T website has a web-only $5 refurb deal now too. Ordered the grey one for my wife that way. It looks black and works perfectly, but it came with 2.20

Don't place your order. Return it.
It's not worth wasting an upgrade on a last-gen phone when you have the opportunity to get a more future-proof phone.
As amazing as the One X is, its not worth going back to. I did.. multiple times haha.
Spend your upgrade on something totally different. Get an iPhone and sell it for $700. Get a Windows Phone. Wait for the One X+.
