$19.99 htc inspire at costco

i dont think u can beat this deal anywhere. I got one 2 days ago and now thinking about rooting the bloody thing but christ it seems awfully hard to do and then sticking a rom is even harder compared to my old tilt 2!!

wow what a deal... do people really think this phone is worth that price?? i personally think it's better than the atrix (minus the laptop dock)

It is not as hard as you think, all you need do is read the threads and take your time, I rooted a long time ago when bubby first did the one click, since then he has made it less complicated, the hardest part most are having is making a gold card, just take your time and you will do fine. I am rooted and am running Core Droid Gingerbread rom and have no sign of AT&T left on my phone. It is great, give it a try!!!! You can do it, the only thing holding you back is you!!!

I got better than that from AT&T directly. Free phone, no shipping, no activation, 2 yr contract extension, early-upgrade. Granted I've been with AT&T since 1999 and I give them a decent chunk of my paycheck every month.
You just have to be patient with them, be willing to stay on hold for a bit, ask for a supervisor, and remember a few key phrases: "Long time customer..." "Pay bills on time..." "Been loyal through Iphoney induced network problems..." "Other carriers offering better equipment, and with contract expiring soon..."
That has always worked for me. The phones aren't always free, but I've always gotten a better deal than the normal upgrade price. At the very least the rebate price without dealing with the rebate. I've even gotten an upgrade price on an equipment replacement without contract extension.
Not sure if there are specific guidelines they use as far as longevity, monthly service charge, etc. You just have to be polite and insistant, and companies will generally give you what you want to keep you as a happy customer, AT&T included.

They have it marked down to a penny if you buy it online with two year upgrade.

any way to make AT&T match this deal? The wife just paid 99 bucks for hers when I added a line last week.

shoot I'd just pay the restocking fee, and then buy from costco and it would still be cheaper. I am not sure att will match it though. I know you can't buy it out of contract Online. I was looking to see what they would charge maybe get my wife one so she can get away from her captivate.

I got mine free from radio shack and I was expecting to pay For it. Don't know how I get it free though

I got my Inspire from Costco about two weeks ago, and then upgraded one of my kids to one last week as well -- took advantage of that Costco deal! And no, AT&T could care less about price matching.
I rooted both of our phones last night. Read more than I did before I flashed my Tilt 2, but after my kid said just watch the Youtube video, I was ready. LOTS and lots of steps, but his rooted exactly as advertised. I did the same steps to mine, got hung up on the final step (pushing the new ROM back to the phone) but found a post in @bubby's thread about the same issue; I manually copied the image to my SD card and entered the bootloader, and now my Inspire is rooted as well.
Lots of great deals out there, BTW. Look at Cartoys and Radio Shack; the Costco deal ends pretty soon.

i got mine from Costco, i only paid the tax and an upgrade fee which will show up on my att bill. id say i came out on top

On a sidenote... I only agree with one line on here. "However now more then ever who you get on the other end of that line MATTERS." ...Unfortunately, this is true. I am a Level 2 technical support agent for Philips Electronics. If you catch an agent on a bad day, then don't expect much. HOWEVER... I personally try to remain fair... If you call me and ask for support, you BETTER be nice. If you are a jerk, yell, cuss, racist, etc...YOU GET NOTHING!
I deal with all walks of people on a daily basis. Kindness is key. It also helps to know how to speak and speak properly.. "Key phrases" mean nothing to me. But that's just me. It's all about the attitude. If you are nice, I'm willing to GIVE you almost anything. If you are an A$$hole...well...you get the idea.
One final note...It DOES NOT matter what nationality you or the tech support rep are. One of the nicest people I have ever met is this guy that sits beside me at work. He is 100% Irish, and hates the world. But again...if you are nice, he will give you whatever you are asking for.

I have an Atrix, not worth it at all... Even with the Dual Proc and Laptop dock. Call quality sucks, signal sucks and worst of all, it seems like they took someone's custom ROM (Alpha Build) and released it (get Aqua/Robot Voice at times) and instability so they have to make a fix for it and THEN wait for AT&T to release it...

The Inspire though? Yeah, worth way more. I paid full price for mine (no upgrade available on any of the 5 lines... )

I got my Inspire from Costco for $19.99. It did not take too long either. They also gave me a free car charger, head set, and leather case.
On a side note: I don't like ordering things like phones (Atrix) or laptops(Asus) online because if their is a problem with it takes week to get there and get back to you.

How much off contract and from where?
I tried buying it though Costco online but I wont let me keep my grandfathered unlimited data plan. I still cant decide whether to use my upgrade or buy it off contract.

I've been seeing lately that its now $79, and as a CostCo Member, its as low as $50 on a two year contract. Its still a great price.

Staples has it for $50, verified as of yesterday.

Yeah, I'm pretty impatient too. My Captivate is running fine, but I just have this 'itch' to upgrade. I was gonna go with AmazonWireless who had the Inspire for $29.99, then I came here to take a look at the Inspire forums, and see this awesome deal!

Cool, I wish they wold have done it for me. I actually went to an AT&T store FIRST to physically play with the phone. He mentioned the Infuse, and I agreed that it looked nice, but the price was out of the question. Told him that Amazon Wireless had the Inspire for $30, and BestBuy had it for zip and he just shrugged and pointed me to the phone.
Then I went to BestBuy (a journey for me since I don't drive) and got the phone...only to return it the next day due to a bubble in the glass, and some minor pixel issues in the center of the phone.
But I'm all set now. Liking the phone, and gonna eventually get into some reading so I can root, and play with different roms...

Seems that with all phones now they are becoming free after a few months.

Got my Inspire from Best Buy 13 days ago for $79.99. Browsing thru the forums and saw threads on it being offered for free now. Headed over to BB after work, and came out $86 dollars richer. I don't know if the "free" was for online purchases or not, but in store it was being offered for $1. Super fantastic deal! I love this phone, even convinced my hubby to dump his 3GS and take advantage of this awesome deal. He will get his tomorrow

Would you buy the recertified Thunderbolt?

My Incredible, which I love, took a bath in my pocket and is having all sorts of issues now. I'm up for an upgrade and decided that I'm going with a Thunderbolt over the Inc2. My question is, has anyone had horror story with the recertified phones from Verizon? My boss got his Incredible from the precertified program and has had continuous issues. Thoughts?

Wrong you could always send it back for a new one. I had hardware problems with a replacement and they had no problem sending out a new one.

I've never bought a certified reused phone but i did go through warranty replacements and they send me certified used ones. I don't really see a difference. They look brand new and work just as fine. If there is a problem, you can always exchange it or ask for another warranty replacement,

I suppose I could go a week or two prior to rooting it to make sure there aren't any issues. I guess I'd survive.

Mines certified used from vzw. Was bassically brand new I'm box. Everything was new except the SD card i think, it was already installed in the phone. Haven't had any problems whatsoever

I don't have a problem with a recertified device. Anytime you receive a replacement device for issues you're receiving a certified like new device. If you have any problems Verizon still covers it and replaces it for you. I would buy one.

no i hate refurbs.

Mine is a referb and I have not had a problem. Rooted it and everything and not a single problem.

I would buy an HTC refurb. I've never had bad luck with manufacturer refurbished items, there are certain products that are cheap to begin with that I wouldn't buy refurbished, but then again I generally don't buy cheap stuff new either, especially when it comes to hardware.
I'd love to find a refurb on sale to buy for my girlfriend to use as we're both just starting to get into some theming and learning some development

My Bolt is a CPO. I got it for $199. The first one they sent was defective. I simply called them and they sent another. No worries since. Before my first two weeks had completed, they dropped the price on the CPO's to $169. I called them up and asked about it...they credited me the $30. I've been very pleased. Especially coming from the Eris.

I got mine new for 99 for an upgrade they gave me 100 off then I got a postcard with another 50 a week after I bought it so I ended up paying 99. My girl got the palm 2 and I did bill to my account ( I lost my wallet ) and instead of billing my acct the credited it for 149 dollar's. LOL bet that'll never happen again.

I buy used phones all the time, who knows if they are a refurb or not, never have problems.

Most of the problems people return their phones for can be solved with a master reset.
Nothing wrong with a cpo/refurb device imo

Buy a used TH from Craigslist and don't extend your contract. Then when the dual-core phones arrive get one of those. My next phone will be 4G, dual-core with 4 inch screen. TB just too big/heavy but I like it.

Bought the Galaxy Nexus last night, selling my MT4G

So I broke down and bought the Galaxy Nexus last night. I am going to be selling my MT4G. Its in excellent condition. I will post up some good pics later today if anyone is interested in purchasing it here. I literally have everything it came with. It was brand new about 2 months ago, when I got a brand new (not a refurb) as a replacement. It is already rooted. It has CM7 on it, but pretty sure you will be able to put on it what ever you want. Only reason i switched is because tmobile's coverage is just not good where I am... and my fiance and I got the family plan at Verizon.
So let me knowif any of you are interested in it. Not sure what they are going for, but just make me a reasonable offer. I will post pics later today when I get home. And I live in the US and would prefer to sell to someone here in the states.

I was hoping to get $200 for it. It is barely used and they seem to be going for a lot more on ebay. But I will email you by the end of the week and let you know what I have decided as far as putting it up there or not. It would be a lot easier to just sell it to you...

Id sell to that guy. By time the fees are paid and shipped you'll end up with about 150. There fees are UN real anymore. Stopped selling because of it and only deal with craigslist anymore.

Well lets just say a few days ago I was at target and the lady said they sold out so fast she never even had time to replace the plaque that had the "coming soon" shown in front of phone. So she just left it there since she couldn't keep them in stock.
Yesterday I went to look online to see which best buy had this phone in stock for a friend of mine, and out of the nearest 10 best buys around me, they were all sold out.
I think this phone even with its relatively low press coverage compared to phones like Tmobile's One S is doing really well.

Yeah, I've been checking stock elsewhere and it seems it has just been doing really well. I'm glad I went and got it when I did.

just picked mine up today just come to vermont lol

I bought mine and got lucky that I looked at it and the guy set it aside for me till launch day. Only had 2 in the store and the other was pre-ordered.
I talked to him the other day and he said people keep coming in for one.

I went to an AT&T store in downtown Washington DC the next day the One X was released ( I believe it was a Monday) and they were sold out.

It's more likely they've been taken off the shelf to push the new update that fixes WiFi and messaging.
I really doubt the phone is selling out. When I picked mine up they told me I was the first person to buy it. Sadly, all the other customers were just there for iPhones.

I went to 5 different AT&T stores yesterday trying to find a white one. Every store said the phone has been selling like crazy. Every rep I talked to was interested in the phone and wanted to buy one for personal use.
I'm glad to see this phone selling well, it definitely deserves it.

I've been to many brick-n-mortars (AT&T, Radioshack, Best Buy) looking for accessories and all the employees were asking me about it. Employees at stores that don't have "live" models on display, like RS and BB, even wanted to check my HOX out.

It's a great phone. My local store had them in stock on release day. I was in yesterday for a swap, and they still had a couple available. Even in MS this is a popular phone.
