[Q] bricked after install CM9 on xperia S ? - General Questions and Answers

Hello There!
Being anything but an expert I carefully read instructions on how to unlock my SONY XPERIA S (LT26i) as I wanted to install CM9. This worked, but installing cm9 I f...ed up.... All seemed to go well, but after the final boot nothing happened, the screen stayed black.
When I try to unzip the file with cm9 from root again I get: 'installation aborted', '(status 7)' and the anouncement that the zip.file has an error in it.
If I try to start in normal mode (after a hard reset) i get freexperia logo for a short while, then the small led turns purple (i think) and the bottom, bar lights up for a sec or two. Then everything turns black again...
The led turns red all right when i try fastboot mode, but my computer no longer recognizes the phone.
Help me please!

Hey,
flash a new firmware with fastboot (up volume key + start button) at boot

Hello!
I have an identical problem. Is there a working version of [FXP117_update-cm-9.0.0-RC0-nozomi-UNOFFICIAL-signed.zip]? There appears to be no access to the phone's SD storage, so how do i flash it?

Have you tried wiping/flashing new firmware from windows, using for example Fastboot Commander? Maybe this will work

I had similar promlem with CM9 on my xperia pro. I solved it with total reinstall of phone. so I wiped cache, Dalvik cache, factory reset (through Clockwork recovery), flashed stock kernel, then stock firmware..after I saw, that phone is working and my heart slowed back to normal, i did the same steps, but with CM9 kernel and CM9 ROM and it is working like charm now..

[Q] Unable to format/wipe/reset nexus s

I have a nexus s i9023, it was running well with 2.3.4 for three months. Got an OTA update for 2.3.6 two days ago, installed it.Im running stock, and the root is locked.
Everything seemed to be running fine on 2.3.6 when last night it just stopped responding and freezing. Taking battery out doesnt help, it again freezes at the colorful x logo or at the unlock screen.
I read on how to do a reset, but pressing volume down and power button gives me only a flash of blacklight (for a millisecond) and then nothing happens. tried it many times. What am I doing wrong?
Pressing volume up and power button gives me a fastboot menu, and recovery mode only gives me an exclamation mark android, then I have to take battery out again. I cannot mount the sd card or do anything else.
Any help or solution is most appreciated guys. Salute.
When you get to recovery, press again power+volume up (i think so), and you'll get some options. You can make factory reset there (as i can remember).
Also, there are many guides here on how to root and flash custom recovery via fastboot.
Check this out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1007782
Just follow it, and when you flash custom recovery, you will be able to mount SD card, flash any ROM etc...
Good luck ...
i have the exacly same problem and i already try full wipe, install other ROM like oxygen and i cant pass the main logo... it's frozing all the time and i need pick up the battery to turn it off... :S
someone can help?

[Q] Bricked my xperia j!!!

Hello
Yesterday I installed alien rom 5.0 onto my xperia J which was running cm10. It installed and worked very well until I realised I forgot to flash the root fix so I needed to reboot to recovery which I was unable to do because it wouldn't work. I decided to go ahead and install a cwm I found on a website and I could now boot into cwm however it kept flashing a charging symbol the the screen was pink whilst showing double and switching off. After a while it started working again but then crashed as soon as I hit the power button to restore my backup. Now my phone shows a black screen and when switched on flashes the led green twice and shows the sony logo then powers back off. I need help, I'm un experienced in this field of phones...

Sony Xperia Tipo Bricked (AOKP ROM)

I am quite new to flashing ROMs and I was really excited when i managed to successfully flash a ROM on my Tipo, it was the AOKP milestone1 ROM and it was pretty good but every 10 seconds an error came up saying "Android Keyboard has stopped working". So today i decided to install the Alienware KitKat ROM it was going well, i transferred the zip file to my SD card, managed to boot into recovery, delete phone date, cache etc and install it. However when i tried to reboot the phone after installing it the pink notification light and the capacitive buttons would light up for 5 seconds and then turn off, but i can still go into CWM recovery mode. So I tried to flash the stock ROM back onto my phone through Flashtool but even that didn't work for me, it kept on getting stuck.
Does anyone have a solution for me. I'm quite saddened by this my phone right now is useless.
Disregard...

Bricked!

After installing blisspop (or I don't really remember), I realized that WiFi wasn't working and neither was bluetooth so I decided to flash Extended Stock Kernel kernel, first with flashing the boot, then flashing the zip from recovery mode and even after that, the result was the same. It didn't work. Later on I went to the Phantom kernel's page and flashed that without checking that the kernel was meant for 4.4 and it bricked my device. Now, whenever the phone starts, it shows the Phantom kernel boot at start with its logo without any led light appearing below and due to that I'm unable to go into either flashmode or fastboot. It keeps restarting the Phantom boot at start and doesn't go any further. Please help!
EDIT: A more detailed version that I wrote a few months ago to the kernel's developer.

Previously I had my Xperia L reset on stock ftp then flashed the Extended Stock Kernel on it. Since the wifi wasn't working, I tried to download R17 and flashed it through CWM and now the phone keeps restarting on the Phantom Logo. It shows the logo, waits for about 10 seconds then restarts and the same keeps repeating. I saw it was for Kitkat but then too I insisted on installing. I can't access neither bootloader nor recovery mode. The light which comes when the Phantom Logo pops doesn't appear either. Can you help me please? Anything would be greatly appreciated. I know I did a stupid thing but I really don't want to give up on this device.

Z3 blank screen after cyanogenmod!!

Hi guys, please please help me.
I watched the youtube tutorial (Sony Xperia Z3: How to Install Official CyanogenMod 12), i followed all the instructions and was going fine after backing up my
data to the SD card, but when it came to Installing the CM12, it said there was an error for "pullox" and i downloaded the Xperia Tablet Z LTE (Pullox) CM12 files and it
began to load (which i thought was a little weird as why woudlnt it read Z3 CM12 files...)
But then after installing GAPPS, it told me to Reboot System and i accidently clicked back, so i just clicked Restart System manually... (not sure if this makes a difference)
BUT NOW my Z3 is not turning on AT ALL I am seriously panicking as its not displaying anything, the only thing that happens when i try turn on the phone is it quick vibrates
and shows the little Red light in the corner for the vibrate and flashes for a second...then nothing.
I've seen to hold the POWER and Volume Up at the same time but still nothing...i've seen to charge it for 3 hours and try again but i'm seriously worried.
Please help me out, i've seen that I have to FLASH the device afterwards...I hope to g-d it will come on.
Is there anything else I can do, will Flashing help?
Thanks
The system is probably corrupted. Just Download another CM12 zip and flash it.

Also, you can try to:
(Shut off your phone if not already done, by pressing and holding down power+vol+ till it vibrates)
* get flashtool and your stock Rom from xperifirm
* hold down vol - and flash your stock using flashtool (obviously with wiping)
