[Q] What's the difference between 3110 and 3113? - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I can't find anywhere what's the difference bewteen the two models.
I have a p3110 wifi only 7".
may I use firmware for 3113?!?
thank you!!!!

I think the P3110 is for Europe, Asia, etc. and the P3113 is for US (or NA) only. Possibly due to different wifi frequencies used.

How about 3100...? This device support calling and sms plus wifi

I did that too. I'm using stock rooted rom p3113 at this moment on my p3110 and it all works fine. Only prob I have is with battery indicator, it never shows the right state of the battery, don't know why :/
Are there any p3110 stock Rom available? On Samfirmware there are some but I can't flash them with ODIN for some reason.
If someone would make a fleshable zip for CWM that would be great.

the only problem I have is that I don't have a screen lock, nor a power menu. is it normal?
If I long press the power button I simply turn off the tablet. If I press it regularly twice when the screen comes back on I don't have any lock.

No screen lock for me too and no power manu :/ Solution would be to install proper rom but no one made a fleshable zip for it maybe to contact some of the developers?

I will try bamf galaxy, to see if lock screen appears. It was working on AOKP, but I didn't like the look and feel of that version.
I think we have to wait to have the firware on samfw!!!

There are 3 variants of the firmware already on SamFirmware, from Slovakia and Romania i think. Do they have English in them, I don't know, but there are official firmwares for the p3110.

I have solved the screen lock problem with widget locker. or at least I think I'll do that! I am installing at the moment!

As far as I can tell the 3110 lacks the IR-Blaster and Peel software which is a shame. This looks to be a common thread across the Samsung Galaxy line with non US devices missing out?

This is an official release not a leaked ROM as the buggy XXLQ5, if you look at Sammobile the fault GS2 ROM is marked with red alert :

Do they not release updates for the same device in every country at once, or is it all staggered?
when the rOOT?
There are 2 files in zip. Where do I put them in odin (I've done it via odin before on phones but there were 4 files)?
just dropping by to say WooooHooo!
and also Jelly Bean AOSP just released as well.
now all we need source code from Samsung.
6200L
will it work also on 6200L?
i hope the root file will come soon. i already try this ROM.
and i hope custom ROM like aorth's will be developed more for better battery and performance.

I can't really comment on that as I have never flashed any CM9 builds. But it does seem like night and day coming from the stock Honeycomb experience. Much more fluid animations, better overall responsiveness, and bluetooth controllers seem to work without that laggy response, so now I can use my iControlPad for mobile gaming. Very happy with it!

Ok, I have it installed.
Download is about 500MB, and it was a little slower than I would like but I was downloading it over a 3G connection.
It went on fine with Odin 1.85, taking about 5 minutes to flash.
On reboot, it recompiles the Dalvik cache, and loads up. It lost my DPI change (no big deal) and my homescreen configuration, but all my software and other settings appear to be intact. Internal SD and microSD card are both left alone during the flash process.
Scrolling is very smooth, much smoother than in 3.2. The notification bar (bottom right of the screen) seems busier than it was before. Icons seem bigger but nicer. It feels much quicker than it used to. I found 3.2 a bit of a pig performance wise, whereas this 4.0.4 build seems much nicer.
WiFi is working perfectly with my Huawei E586 3G WiFi hotspot, but I haven't tested it with anything else. It mounts as a media device fine on Windows 7 too. I haven't checked bluetooth to see if it is working as expected.
So far so good. I've yet to put Chrome on there, but that's next on my list
If anyone else wants me to test something, let me know.
Flash successful
Worked on my US model via odin. 5-7 min for flash + first boot, everything looks good so far.
Just flashing now.
Although HC isn't that different than ICS, i've been looking forward to it.
I can use Apex Launcher on there for a start, I like the developer options, the ability to force 2D rendering in all apps for a start and limit the background processes.
Cool
Thanks
Boot loop on the samsung logo.
Anyone have any suggestions. Maybe i should revert to stock HC first?

Will i be able to Odin the UK version into a Galaxy tab p6210 that i bought in the US?
Working fine on Brazilian 6210 installed using mobile Odin (recommended, didn't need the pc for anything). I think the same number of languages are supported on this version, but the built in Swype only has the European portuguese.
Edit: with the persist root of mobile odin, i now have a rooted ics, without do anything after.

ZSLP7 release for HK. did not have face unlock
DDLP5 is indian release version. dont really have any different with LQ2
OK.. thanks alot
I also moved from XXLQ2 to DDLP5.
This was a mistake, no improvements and if anything the wifi problem is even worse under DDLP5.
I wish Samsung would fix the wifi issue, it is a major problem for me.

Just reflashed back to XXLQ2.
Wifi semi-operational again. More not working than working, but what can you do ?
Samsung could do much better if they started fixing their software, not sure if I could recommend these tablets to anyone that I know.
That said, the P6800 hardware is excellent - but I need a fully functional Jelly Bean software release !!!
BTW, is there a limit on the number of these Odin 1.85 flashes that one can do ?

Hmm, not too sure I've never had any problems with WiFi..
I gets the signal, and connects fine, LQ1 LQ2, and DDLP5
But I was with LQ1 previously and when I traveled abroad, mine could not connect to the most of WiFis even when GS2 connected just fine..
(on the way back home at airport, I fleshed to one of the CM9 Jellybean 1.3v and paranodroid, (see the devel forum), but still had the WiFi problem connecting to airport WiFi...
when I got back home, I fleshed to LQ2 and also DDLP5, they all worked fine (but of course only tested with my home WiFi..)
But when I fleshed this time, one thing I did was to really wipe Everything using cwm v6.0.01, (formating /system, /sdcard as well) except the external_sdcard.
My 6800 is hk version, whats yours? try fully wiping everything and flesh to DDLP5 ? I think the DDLP5 feels a bit smoother..
cheers

I have had wifi problems with LQ1, LQ2 and LP5.
But it seems to be more of an issue when there is more than one router around - so it does not always happen. But it never happened with HC.

I use LP5 and luckily for me i have no issue (wifi works fine, performance with antutu benchmark (6194) is good compared with LQ1 AND LQ2 -no overclock). I did factory data reset as well as using this (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.manniakk.cscselector&feature=search_result) to enable my kies identify the device. I am using recovery from locerra (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1542897). The only boot loop happen when i want to do supercharge v6. Perhaps, i slipped up the procedure. No dare to repeat again.
Using locerra's cwm should be safe for a factory reset as it uses a safe kernel. Note that recovery has its own modified kernel that is used for the various operations. It does not use the rom's running kernel on the 7.7.

Changelog bere : small changes , increase battery life and more fluid system.
Are there any bugs present or observed? Is 3G working well even if it's not your region? LQ1 works fine even if it's not my region. Thanks again.
Installed this one with Odin. Just one question the baseband still shows as P6200XXLQ1 even though Kernel is 3.0.15-P6200LQ2 and Build Number is IMM76D.XXLQ2.
Is it normal for Baseband version to still show P6200XXLQ1 or have I made an error somewhere?
I decided to flash the Philippines(SUN)(August) because it's my region and it's newer than the Open Austria firmware(July). I have to say it has better battery life. Performance wise, it got a little better based from the quadrant scores I took. Higher overall scores than LQ1 and system feels a bit more faster. Although one time, System UI forced closed for no apparent reason and it lagged so much before that but it's gone now. I have no idea what caused that.
Does your Baseband Version still show P6200XXLQ1 ?
Problems with 3G
Installed this ROM a few days ago. Everything worked well except 3G. Voice calls and SMS also worked. After a failed automatic configuration of the APN, I set it manually but without success.
So, I downgraded it to the original HC 3.2. and wait the official update for my region (Romania).

hey pal, after the update, is your tab still unlocked? just curious because it's a carrier tailored version. i want to upgrade my open austria to globe's firmware, too.
oh, and if it doesn't have a carrier (in parentheses) beside the Country/Carrier, that would mean that it's unlocked, yes?
oh, and after this update, if you're int he philippines, will kies work? i bought my unit in HK, so i'm curious if it's because of the austrian rom that i'm getting an error from kies saying that my device does not support upgrading via kies. is it in order for me to upgrade via kies, i need to install the HK version again?

It is still unlocked. Do note that I'm using the SUN version, I think using Globe's or Smart's firmware will lock it, not sure. I am a SUN user but I tried a Smart Sim and it worked fine.
I did not see a Philippine ICS firmware without a carrier name on sammy.
Kies works here in the Philippines. It says it is the latest firmware.

[TOOL][ROOT] Samsung CSC Changer (MEA working now)

Hello guys, im the developer of Samsung Galaxy S / S2 / S3 CSC.
Recently i bought S4 and was wondering if the app is working on it. Today i rooted my phone and found out that Root mode is working so you can give it a try: here is a link for the play store version (which is free): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.manniakk.cscselector
Probably most of you know what CSC is. But i`ll try to explain it for novice users:
CSC is customer sales code, this is something that samsung uses to brand their phones. After you flash a custom rom there is a big chance that your csc will be changed and it may not be correct even after flashing stock rom. Here comes the app, you can use it to change the csc to your region specific. Why do you need this: Warranty service, if kies is unable to update your phone (ota updates not working too).
Many people says that the app is not working or smth like that. This is not true. The app only invokes the built-in interface samsung uses, and nothing more, it does not flash csc-s. Also we have found out that it is working only with stock recoveries. All newer samsung devices require root mode (4.0+ android version).
And to end: It wont work on your HTC device
Please test the app and tell me if it is working on your rom.
Edit: I finally added support for MEA roms and newer roms for note2/galaxy s3, etc...give it a try
Tested firmware and confirmed working:
I9505XXUAME2

But there are some changes to the Modem part in MEA (I think) because the program does nothing to the Phone!

But there are some changes to the Modem part in MEA (I think) because the program does nothing to the Phone!
If you flash ME2 Modem on MEA ROM then CSC Changer works (or at least I've been reading here in the forum that it does)

Modem ME2 gives you access to the Service Mode where you can activate HD Voice or Unlock your phone....
NOTHING to do with CSC... This app DOESN'T work on newest firmware even if you use older modem though!
noob question? but what is this and what does it do?

Guys, correct if i am wrong but I understand that the CSC is your location, and that the other two codes also relate to different versions of phone and modem. CSC versions are (mostly) like phones, you can use a I9100OLBLPB CSC for an I9100XWLPM ROM. You can even mix CSCs from different devices, ie a N7000OLBLR2 CSC on a I9100XWLPM firmware (I have personally tested). Their versions must be the same or very close, ie an Android 4.0.3 CSC can be used on a 4.0.4 firmware.
However, iirc you can't use an Android 2.3.6 CSC for an Android 4.0.3 ROM, and vice versa.

Does this mean the Preconfig is still there? Or are you using another way now?

yes, it is there, but Samsung renamed the package and this is why it was not working
