Everyone out there always wants to know how the all ICS ROM's for our much desired device stand against each other in terms of performance.
There are various issues of asking other users opinions on performance are
Different clock speeds
Difference in hardware
Difference in count of bg services running
I intend to eliminate these issues by running the below benchmarks on my phone after the below steps
Clean ROM install
Install gapps
Restoring these apps using TB (in case of CM9 download from market)
Set CPU at 1113 MHZ and 1125 MHZ on Sense 4A
Reboot
Antutu (SD card test excluded)
Nenamark 1
Nenamark 2
Here are the results of two consecutive runs
After seeing the variance in Antutu benchmarks I decidede to do 3 round sof Antutu and 2 each of Nenamark 1 and 2

And to be fair all other scores are at 1.1 GHz, so sick ICS and kernel3 kicks ass even when un-optimized

Yeah thanks for posting these results, have just recently got a desire s and rooted and was looking for benchmarks for the roms.
Tried MIUI but that wasnt for me as i am a stock kinda guy, then flashed Tectas Unofficial AOKP and wow im really impressed, nice to see its has some good test results.
The 3.0 kernel is indeed a great update, the battery life I think it might just increased with about 40%, which is a great thing(d'oh, Cpt. Obvious ).
Although there is one problem I found, when I switch to video recording(720p only), the display turns to blue and then back to normal, and so on. I can't post in the ROM's topic so I hope I'll get an answer here.

Since there are tons of roms, and since none is perfect I'll try to keep track here of there benchmark results. Everybody is welcomed to help, I'll keep updating the 1st thread as results come since I'm not insane and neither have the time to test every rom avaible. Please do the tests after you installed all your apps since noone is interested of the results in the best case scenario, but in day to day use.
Please use Quadrant, Neocore, Linpack and post here the results and I'll update the post.
Thank you.
Im aware that each device will have different results and results may vary from each run, So as results will come, I'll post Highest score, Lowest score and Average Score at each rom.
Average will be posted when enough scores will be avaible
Higher is better, higher means faster ROM, smoother scrolling, more fps in games etc.
By public demand I'll keep the stats for 720p fps

The problem with this is that it you run it more than once you get different results. Should it be average?. Plus overclocking change things. On Opendesire 3.0.2. I get linpack of like 42 and quadrant near 1500 which is very different to toguy above!

We should stick to non-oc i think.
And shouldnt the biggest score of linpack be posted instead of three first? It can get from 15 to 40....

Hmm okay well I'm using opendesire 3.0.2 overcloked and I got:
Quadrant:
High 1599
Low 1439
Linpack
high 44. 372
low 42. 965
A brief explanation of what the scores mean might be helpful. e.g. the higher the the higher the quadrant the better/faster the ROM CPU is. I have no idea what Neocore, Linpack or Quadrant scores actually mean or do, but that may just be me...
Thanks

As ive stated in the title i was referring only @ roms based on oficial 2.09 release.
Overclocking is not possible at the moment at least till htc will not release the source code for their kernel, so roms w/ o/c are not based on htc latest kernel.
And since people are asking i'll add the 720p fps to each rom.
Thanks again for helping me doing this statistics. I can only test the roms im using.. and im not a flash addict
Including 720p fps is useless. It is dependent on the lightning conditions above all else, so unless there is a real 'lab' to make sure the recording conditions are exactly the same, 720p fps recording measurement is impossible to compare between ROMs.
I have 40.702 linpack for Roufianos V3 so you can add that.
Quadrant gave me after three tests 1140 (only!!), 1307 and 1313
I tested NextSense 2.1b also but i could not get more than 38.. i dont know why.
Quadrant on the other hand got my phone on top of the list with 1348!!

It does noet mean anything when comparing gingerbread to froyo.
Rom is very smooth indeed.
And only quadrant is a bit slow, all other benchmarks are more or less similar to froyo...
Soon many custom gingerbread roms will be out, and then we can compare all gingerbread rom benchmarks, and then it means a lot!
You also want the fastest custom gingerbread rom, don't you ?! ;-)

As soon as ICS arrives there will be an optimus 3D ICS benchmark thread ;-))))
it is still early to broad conclusions, however, and has taken a big step forward.
The v4 is better.
Sorry for my English.
I haven't bothered with ROM updates since AcuraV2.
It's not worth my time when in a couple of days comes out LG's official 2.3, and then yes, it will be time to go with the brand new lot of modded roms.

It can take several minutes. Sorry for not specifying earlier.
The reason is that it is testing many different versions of the code, and reports the best performance for your device.

It does take many minutes to generate the result. On your phone, I would say wait for 5-10 minutes for the score.
Anyway, the version 1.1 should no longer be tested. Will be posting new version soon.

Hi Everyone. I have posted v1.2 now. See attachment in parent post. This should give you much higher performance, almost 2x performance in some cases.
As a reminder, the benchmark runs for a LONG time. It may take 5-10 minutes to give a result on some phones. Please be patient

1. Nexus 7 : 1470 MFlops
2. Galaxy S2 (international, Exynos 4410): 890 MFlops
3. Galaxy S2X (T-mobile, Snapdragon S3): 1049 MFlops
4. Transformer TF201 (Tegra 3, 1.3GHz): 1881 MFlops
5. Galaxy S3 (international Exynos 4 Quad): 2189 Mflops
Uploaded a new version (1.2.1) which is basically the same as 1.2, except that I have added a progress indicator.
Please do try it out and give me some feedback. Much appreciated. Thanks
Play Store version is tagged as v1.3.1 and has a small code change from versions I posted earlier. TO avoid confusion, I have removed all APKs frm this thread. Please use the Play store version. Thanks
Some results reported by users:
Nexus 7 (Tegra 3): 1488 MFlops
Galaxy S2X (Snapdragon S3 dual-core): 1175 MFlops
Galaxy S2 (Exynos 4 dual-core) : 998 MFlops
Acer A100 (Tegra 2): 714 MFlops
Tested v1.3.1 on Xperia sola.
Xperia sola(NovaThor U8500,1GHz dual core):651.0 MFlops , 669.0 MFlops
Hello!
It looks great and I want to check it out in my device but there is a problem, Google Play Store won't let me install it saying that it is incompatible, did I forget something?
My phone is LG P350 (Optimus Me) with CyanogenMod 7.2 (Android 2.3.7, obvious). I'd like to check out how well does my device do in this benchmark.
Cheers.

790.0 mflops
HTC Evo 3D GSM(Snapdragon S3 - msm8660)
Venom3D( Sense 4.1)
A...... Kernel
1.5 GHz
How accurate is this?
Because on linpack it's around 60-70
That's 10x better.
Sent from my HTC EVO 3D X515m using Tapatalk 2
hy
my score is 2046.0 MFlops on S3 international 1500 mgh.
Thanks everyone
To clarify things, actually a Cortex A9 core can theoretically do 1 double-precision flop every cycle. So if you have a dual-core Cortex A9 1 GHz for example, theoretically the peak is actually 2 GFlops or 2000 MFlops. My benchmark is trying to give you a simple estimate of how close to that peak can you get in practical code. Even my benchmark is not 100% optimized and there is still scope for optimization.
The benchmark is far more accurate than Linpack. "Linpack for Android" is actually not a very optimized benchmark. For example, Linpack is written in Java while mine is written in C++ to get native performance. Also, mine is written to make better use of the cache so that the FPU is better utilized instead of just waiting for memory loads. I wrote the benchmark partl because I was very frustrated by the wrong information that Linpack for Android gives, your phones are all a lot faster than what Linpack reports
For example, there was a research paper recently where researchers show that it is possible to get more than 1000 MFlops on Linpack on an iPad 2 if a properly optimized Linpack is written for the iPad. Given that an iPad 2 has like a 1 GHz dual-core Cortex A9, you can see that the Linpack on Android is nowhere close to optimized.

Thanks! Those are quite similar to what other users reported for Snapdragon S3.

Hi unfortunately, it only works on phones with processors having ARMv7-A or newer, does not run on your phone. I encountered some bugs while compiling for older processors so had to drop support.
I know this may have been done before, but maybe we can use this thread to lob some 3DMark Android scores around? Just for interest, see which spec/ROM/kernel gives the best scores?
Get the app here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.futuremark.dmandroid.application
RESULT SUGGESTED FORMAT [MY RESULTS SHOWN AS EXAMPLE]
Variant (S4/S3): S4
CPU Clock Setting: Stock 1.5GHz
ROM: Stock JB 4.1.1 Sense 4+
Kernel: Stock
Test--Ice Storm Score: 6676
Test--Ice Storm Extreme Score: 3666
Other system settings (i.e. Airplane mode): None, All radios on
Post again if you've tweaked any system settings, flashed a new ROM Etc.
EDIT: Seems like the One S scores just under the HTC J Butterfly And WAY above the One X+, Note 2, One X in the Extreme Test, must be the qHD res helping it out?
Variant: S4
CPU Clock Setting: Stock 1.5GHz
ROM: CM10.1 2012-04-02 nightly
Kernel: Bubba v4 stock
Test--Ice Storm Score: 6189
Test--Ice Storm Extreme Score: 3948
Other system settings (i.e. Airplane mode): None, all radios on
BUMP. Anybody else experiencing different scores on their One S?

Ya thats what benchmarks like to do and also to point out qHD don't help since both are running the bench at 720p.

our phone isnt faster, it just doesnt have to work as hard
S4
latest liquidsmooth ROM.
TwisteD VI kernel.
Hi, i have Nexus S i9023 from second hand with broken power button ( button is always on ) and I want to know what the performance of full working stock rom + kernel on Nexus s with Android 4.1.2 . My benchmarks:
Geekbench 2.4.3 - 321
AnTuTu Benchmark v3.3 - 3236
Smartbench 2012 - Productivity index: 503; Gaming index: 1102
Linpack [MFLOPS] - 14.654
Your scores seem legit for a full stock Nexus S. In addition, on Quadrant benchmark a stock ROM and Kernel will reach around 1200.
Thank you ! my average score in quadrant is 1200 ... i was afraid that power button reduces performace or something... and... has samsung galaxy S more performace that Nexus s ? or it is the same ?
