Well it's definitely not perfect but it is pretty great. Some software issues to work out still. The leaked update seems to be helping so far though. Bootloader unlock would be a little bit closer as well.
It's is a real quality phone bootlocked or not. But it would be that much better if we had it unlockef

Mind sharing which issues specifically? I'm thinking about flashing the update, but would prefer holding for the official release if the improvements aren't that great.
Regarding the OP, the phone is indeed very good. However, it has some faults (software wise) which makes it bittersweet, mainly the multitasking.
Multitasking is much better now. The WiFi bug is fixed and the phone just feels a bit snappier to me.

I will give it a try tonight then!
I updated to 1.83, but truth is I never had any issues except the multitasking stuff. Since on 1.83 it runs smooth, wifi, data, cell quality, battery life, screen, snappiness, all had been perfect.
I did the Supercharger script which helped with the multitasking issues too (it rearranges system priorities).
All in all I love this phone. I loved my Atrix 4G too but HOX makes the Atrix look dingy.
I also really like Sense 4, surprisingly. I used NOVA launcher on CM9 since January and I thought about switching to Nova, but after giving Sense 4 a trial run I love it and prefer it. Sure it's not customizable, but all the nice preset widgets make it easier to use, and the app Notification Toggle gives me the CM9 styled notification toggle I've grown accustomed to.
Out the box, it is pretty darn good. And I've never been a big fan of sense or any other 3rd party ui. I really liked the tegra 2 on my g2x and was kinda excited to try the new quad core, but the s4 in this version is really fast. Much faster than the ti chip in the nexus. All this phone needs now is AOKP & a faux kernel & this phone will be perfect
*edit - 32 gig memory or sd card slot combined with what I said above, and then it'll be perfect. Oh well...
Not perfect, but pretty damn good.

What are you talking about? Of course this phone is not perfect. There can only be one perfect phone and it is the Samsung plasticky S3.
*roll eyes*
Not to beat a dead horse but with 16GB onboard the only thing that would have made this perfect for me would have been a micro sd slot somewhere so I could put my BNIB samsung 32GB class 10 card to good use

With the multitasking issues, this phone is far from perfect. Without that issue, it could have been one of the best phones I have ever owned, but none of them are truly perfect.

No you have to flash through the RUU in the Development forum for right now.
But 1.82 is a noticeably smoother experience, even with Nova Launcher the phone feels a lot snappier than before.
Only downfall rightnow is that you have to wipe your phone for the flash, I don't think this will be the case when the OTA is released.

Not perfect. Doesn't support bluetooth dialing and where are the voice commands?
Other minor issues as others have posted. Car dock is a little weird as it's not customizable.
That being said, it's a really good phone. I'm coming Atrix/Dell Venue Pro. Both hacked.
Hopefully this phone becomes even better.

Love the phone! Had a iPhone a few weeks when my sensation was on service (dust inside the display, got a brand new display for free )
After using a laggy iphone, I realized how much i love the sensation.
It's a sensation... Easy as that.
Same here. My Sensation is 6 1/2 months old, it has no scratches and still looks and feels like on the first day. It's an awesome phone, but the ability to run CM9 makes it still more awesome
I am also running CM9 and got it clocked at 1ghz and hahaha even at this speed is super smooth.
I am really glad that we got CM9, it would be hard to get a phone that doesn't get CM9 support to be honest because these companies overlays are full of bloatware and drain battery super quickly.
The real problem with HTC phones is Sense. I got to have it at like 1.7 to be smooth but then the battery sucks really bad. Then if I clock down to about 1.2 which is when I notice a battery difference, it's all choppy and stuttery.
Just yesterday I played with an HTC One S and I don't really envy anything about it.
And I too feel the same way as a previous poster and that is that I don't feel the need to upgrade.
CM9 + Sensation= Fast, Smooth, Great battery life.

not too much to do more until jb sense rom is out. maybe some new devs might come if we get s-off or root for 2.20.

Our development is so much more than what other phones have. We have multiple great AOSP ROMs. None of which are broken, in my opinion, but I can see where you are coming from when you say things have come to a stop. It has slowed but I'm a patient person so I guess it didn't bother me too much.
i dont mind waiting at all because devs do an awesome job. I just hope if they get the One X+, we won't be forgotten!! :L I want to hold on to my evita for a while longer yet!
Hey, I'm sorry to threadjack a bit but I don't want to start a new one because this one is pretty basic. If I were to get a new One X that wasn't on the 2.2 OTA, unlock it's bootloader, root, and put some CM10 on it before it developing some stuck pixels or some manufacturer defect like that, how would I go about getting it into a condition in which the device support center folks won't process the return normally? This is very easy on the Inspire 4G
relock bootloader and run the 1.85 ruu. pretty much all you can do.

Great news. I swore off HTC because they were pushing out hardware so fast but they lured me back in with this device. When my next upgrade comes around...so long from now... it'll definitely be a nexus device. So tired of this bootloader game and the headache they cause.
Ugh. I had the hox before when it first came out and the bootloader was locked. I liked the phone but the multitasking stuff and the lack of space and the non- replaceable battery made me go back to the galaxy line. Well ive been missing my x lately so I was looking to get another one and obviously wanting one that can be unlocked to run roms and stuff. But now I see this one coming out. I'm curious would it be better to wait for this one? I do like the fact the battery is bigger and the phone space is bigger since u can't use an sd card. But I'm sure the bootloader will be locked up tight. Wonder if I'm not better off just finding a used hox. U guys ever run into issues with only having 16g?

While I'm still mad at HTC over my original tegra 3 one x, I can't help but lust over the x+. I've run out of storage on my one xl due to my music...kinda sucks. The One X+ looks like a pretty significant upgrade to me.
Just a question to those saying that they're gonna get the next Nexus - do you really want an LG made Android device and one that may be named the LG Optimus Nexus G? Rumor also has it that it will come with carrier bloat and a way to install LG's custom interface.
The Nexus phone being the flagship Android phone is no more. Google, sadly, isn't going in that direction anymore.

Hello One X users ,
Just wonderin what I might've missed out when I decided to get the SGS3. One X seemed pretty tempting at the time.
So how's development, the community and the phone itself?
The community is certainly more close than other forums like the GS3 and One S, One X Intl. etc.
Development is good unless you are on the latest AT&T 2.20 software, which a previous exploit used to root has been patched, so if you are on 2.20 you can't root yet.
Phone itself is awesome, awesome camera, stock software etc. IMO, the GS3 touchwiz is foul, Sense 4.0 is much more elegant.

Development is solid. It's a good community and the amount of updates and roms isn't overwhelming, yet you can find decent improvements every week.
In terms of the phone, the One X takes the cake with it's screen alone. The Super LCD is superior to the SGS3's pentile AMOLED. It actually rivals iPhone's retina display, despite the larger size.
I think what made me decide between the two was when I tried out Flipboard on both phones. The One X was sharper, smoother and faster. The SGS3 seemed fast when using Touchwiz, but Flipboard was jittery and blurry.
But of course, everyone has different tastes. I do miss the removable battery and expandable memory, and extra RAM would be nice.
I'm still blown away by the screen mostly

The screen and the fact it's not made out of so cheap plastic like the Samsung. It is still plastic but being made out of a solid one piece makes it seem more solid and a little heavier too which is great.

Lol, not a troll thread. I'm serious. And yes, the screen probably is far superior to the AMOLED on the S3. I had an iPhone and the S3's screen can't even compare. I gotta go play with the One X soon lol.
Speaking of which, how's rooting for Canadian Carriers?
Coming from a few Samsung devices I miss having a screen that doesn't scratch spontaneously, the microSD slot, USB OTG, TouchWiz codec support, and task650 (super smooth, stable, complete AOKP).
The screen is nice, the camera is great. Sense 4 is growing on me. Still too much change for the sake of change for my taste, but light years ahead of sense 3.x, and something you have to get used to if you want the best battery life and camera.

Not that performance is not already enough on the ONE X but doesn't the Nexus 4 have a quad core S4 and a significantly more powerful GPU. This makes it about twice as fast as the HOX already and it has a bigger battery and vanilla android and will get the newest Android OS'.
My biggest concern is storage size at 8GB or 16GB isn't much and it just doesn't look as nice as the white HOX.
The fact that it's made by LG turns me off. The HOX is awesome in its own right and I think Sense is great in terms of usability. HTC has come a very long way with refining Sense into what it is now (remember Sense 2.0 and 2.1? *shudder*).
I've had the Tegra 3 version of the HOX, sure the 'benchmarks' said it was better, but in actual usage, the dual-core S3 spanked it. On top of that, LTE! Only time I will ever get a Nexus device is if it is from HTC though.
I'm buying one, but I'm not selling my HOX.

I can recommend it. Been runny nightly builds for about 2 months now, never had any major problems (the occasional reboot or something) but everything works great.
I considered switching, but like the verge review pointed out, the lack of LTE is a hard thing to drop. Stock 4.2 would be really nice, but I bet it'll be available soon (either AOKP or CM10) and I'll just keep my superfast LTE.
No.

I bet most people are, it has a lot of tweaks, more tweaks then any Rom I ever tried on DHD, well I tried ViperDHD but it was a little slow, but I can see why, Its not as powerful as the One X, Viper XL runs so smooth and stable though, I didn't used to like sense to much but Sense 4+ is really nice, I wonder what Sense 5 would be like

I normally wouldn't participate in such a thread to say just one word really so I'll write the rambling run on sentence to validate replying to myself but really other then the hella cool people that make up this one xl forum and don't chastise me for being "different" and holding the utmost patience with my some times pretty messed up mental state I would have to say that my favorite is the screen.

I like the camera and its such s huge step up from my HTC EVO design. Which has a dead forum. This phone is amazing and has such great dev support.

The active community for this phone and (this is more Android/CM in general) how incredibly open the platform is compared to other options..
I also like the way they removed the search button and added the recent apps/menu button, it's a lot more stylish!

KingBeatZ audio mod with stock Beats. When I get a new phone eventually, more than likely I'll keep this phone and use it basically as an iPod because music just sounds fantastic. And ViperXL 3.2.1 is just pure amazing, but everyone knows that by now. And don't even get me started on the screen.
Dislike? No expandable storage or removable battery. Also, 1 gig of RAM isn't a whole lot.
I have always been a big fan of sense but sense 4+ running on viperxl is just amazing. Its mostly the flip clock that I like. The time, date, and weather are all there in a very neat readily accessible place on the home screen.. Battery life is excellent about 20hrs for me. And the camera and screen are about the best I have seen on any phone in its class. I had just bought a camera before I bought my phone but now that I have my phone my camera stays in its case. Hadn't used it in about 6months now.
I would say that there isn't much about this phone that I dislike, except maybe the lack of removable storage. I don't have a whole lot of big file such as music on my phone so 10 gigs is plenty for me. Also I've heard that with removable storage its easier to attain s-off

It's the not the removable batt that bothers me it's that I know they could stick a lot bigger battery in here if they really wanted ...
