i wouldn't. just wait for a developer to post a rooted version of the update and flash it in recovery. ive heard root + ota updates are kinda a hit or miss as to whether it will toast you or not
I'm having trouble too help?

Yeah locking the bootloader would work, you need to return 100% to stock though, so factory software it was shipped with, I don't know whether you still have that or if you can grab it from the official sony site, there is probably a copy of it in the forums

Running PC Companion with an unlocked bootloader is lethal. You could wait it out like PhxkinMassacre said,or skip the reverting to stock, but the bootloader is a must lock.

I was stock rooted on ICS and did the update saving my root with OTA Rootkeeper. When JB was installed I restored my root and now on my reboots it shows me as running custom with an unlock icon. Is there a way to remove the unlock icon?

Yup, that's the way I did it. Might want to check into downloading version 1.2 instead of the version from the market though.

I'm surprised unlocking the Bootloader would remove the custom icon. Wonder why that is. Anyways The icon is gone now. The phone boots right off the 1st Samsung icon real fast too lol.
This is a ridiculous question, and I can't believe I am asking it, but I can't work out which firmware version I am on... help?

It's titled "software number." for whatever reason they don't actually use the word firmware.

Yeah, I'm curious. Best to wait. I bet they patched Bump.
Hmm i wonder if we will hear from someone who took it. Of course, being cloudy's 10n base makes me laugh at finally getting 10f.

Cool! How does it run compared to 10d? Can you install bumped twrp? Root? I imagine it's possible AT&T included aspects from later builds, so theoretically you could get a decent jump in performance if they have.

No I was stock, I can't find any changes so I would bet it's (security fixes) for root and bump.

Tried talking to AT&T to see what the update brings, they said that they couldn't see an update available, they tried looking for it for a while. But they did confirm Lollipop is coming in 1 to 2 months.

@thecubed did say that the 5.0/L update patched bump. Per this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56646539&postcount=356
I wouldn't be surprised if it's patched up here as well.
Not sure what this update is, but i'll personally be skipping it.

No doubt. They could have pulled a Samsung trick (I'm thinking the4.3 update that prevented downgrading)

Yeah the only thing is. This isn't Android L. It's a 4.4.2 incremental update. My guess is they caught on to bump. But as someone has said we can downgrade with the flash tool right now. But that might not be the case when lollipop is deployed.

since I know we can downgrade and re-root, I just took it and I'll use it for a while before reporting back in a few hours.
Does anyone know how to pull the zip from my device or the download URL so we can get a copy to pass around?
Check your Update setting on your S4. Update is 392.48 MB download.
Sure I will loose ROOT. It is downloading Now.
It updates to 4.4.4. Not a whole lot added but bloat. Did make the phone more snappier after the update though.
