Firmware Version? - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

This is a ridiculous question, and I can't believe I am asking it, but I can't work out which firmware version I am on... help?

But it doesn't say anything about firmware??

It's titled "software number." for whatever reason they don't actually use the word firmware.

Mine is at V08J and saying the latest through LGMobile Support Tool. Anyone else have something different?
I have same version u have. It says my phone is up to date. How can we update?
Sent from my LG-P920 using XDA App
you can't because it's not a retail phone you need to wait for someone to make custom rom
I mean its an unlocked phone. I don't see how we can't. Especially if were trying from lg servers? Not a specific carrier

I dont think the firmware is "available" as of yet, thats why. It says it's the latest but the phone isn't released yet. Developer or not shouldnt have ANYTHING to do with it.

WHEN the phone is released the update will go live. That is the latest version for the phone that IS YET TO BE RELEASED. Therefore, it is not LIVE as you say. Until you can show me it on your phone, means it isnt available...yet! I agree it is the latest software version for the phone.
Yeah, if it recognizes our dev phone as LG-P920 it should update it. If its carrier specific then that's a whole different story. If someone was able to update.through the Lg Update tool please let us know.

HK = Hong Kong , a place in south China.
I'm a new user. I can't sure if the hardware is the same. I think developers in this forum may/may not need to know this

Is it TI OMPA4440?
According to the reviews in China & Moto China (sourcehttps://motorola-global-zn-ch.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/74104/p_country_code/CN) the processor is 4440 and the western reviews & Moto Dev claimed that is 4430

The hope that we can have, is with an international update for a phone that allows unlocked bootloaders. It took 4-6 months for the Atrix to get that. We will have to wait for more International versions of the Atrix 2 to be released so that we can find that "one" version with an unlocked bootloader, it is a one in a thousand kind of a chance, at this point.
We don't need an unlocked bootloader for great things on this phone, really the only thing we CAN'T do is overclock, but there might be ways around that too, I have a way, but it has softbricked 2 devices so far, so if we can get an sbf (which is the real key to all of our happiness), we will really be in business.
Even with an sbf or an fxz file, we can have ROMs, we just need a few ROM developers to want to work on this phone.

Hi. I currently have a GT-8010. I want to change the firmware to the US version. How do I go about doing that? Thank you. (I have experience with rooting, but I haven't seen any explicit answers or suggestions.

So you just want it to say its an 8013? Modify build.prop with something like rom tool box

Thanks for your reply. I want it to be the 8013 because that's the US version and it comes with an app I really want. (The KNO textbooks app). It's only available on the US version. I have seen the two rooting methods, but neither explicitly says if I can change the 8010 to US firmware.

so just edit your build.prop, change the stuff from 8010 to 8013 and that will let you install that app. That was what I did to get the 4.2 camera working on this tablet before other librarys were put out to have it working right, switched to make it think it was a nexus.
So make those changes and then install the app, making a backup first of course

You've been very helpful. I will root and try this method. Thanks for your replies.
Edit: Is there a guide about changing build props you could point me to? I've never done this particular thing before. Thanks again.

Problem while checking for update

I am trying to check update but showing a message that "we are unable to update" (as showing in the screenshot). I am rooted but using the stock rom. can somebody explain and give some information regarding this issue ..?? :silly:
PS: I am using the phone in India so i'm using wifi to update.
Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure you can't update over wifi. You need a data connection and I'm pretty sure it has to be a Verizon connection. There's a few other posts regarding this around here somewhere but I don't think a solution has ever been found other than to flash a rom that has the update in it.

If it's a Verizon version of the one (which is what this section is for) then you do indeed need to have a connection to Verizon's network to check for the update, yes it can be downloaded on WiFi but the initial check for an update must be done wit h a Verizon connection
