Question: can I change ram chip for g2x? I mean up ram memory.

Did you even search?

I started a thread on this it might be possible but you have to be way smarter than me I got the g2x open and a broken atrix but the chips are different both tegra 2 but totally different oh then you have to get the phone to recognize it way beyond my skill set
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
I need that data sheets on both the tegra 2 and the ram they use. The issue might be the pins outs. And we use the older platform might not support more then 512. And the GUI might use the ram too then that will have to be update too which will require the info on that too. In our case it will be the tegra processor needs to be update for the new ram and how to use it.
So the short answer Nvidia needs to release more the source code.

It is possible but you have to be very very very very very careful so as not to damage the motherboard itself......but the process is very difficult and is not worth the time!!
Buy a working phone with the memory, etc., you want.
As far as code I can't help... yet. I'm still learning that myself. As for the replacement method, having the solder on to long can burn through the board. Its all about timing when working with something so small. Its easier to melt the soldier wire while its dangling over the contact. This would avoid a burn through. The problem would be left with a drip line. You'd have to be careful melting that down.
Sent from the last drop of EaglesBlood: 4.0.4 G2x
I have the skill and equipment to do the solder work. My only issue is what to replace it with and the compatibility of an ram chip. I need the semitic of the board for the pin out to even see if it is even possible. so with out that it is impossible. And the code work for the GUI usage.

i know i have
If I had the technical know-how, I would. Wouldnt be the most high end thing, but if I could build something that could run Android, had wifi and ran on GSM networks, I'd love it because it would mean I'd be able to set its IMEI number to whatever I wanted (provided it were valid and not in use) , dodging AT&T's mandatory smartphone data plan requirement.
Could also drop battery hogging features that I never use, like GPS and bluetooth.
I would love to build something off of the upcoming Tegra 3 SoC. Wonder if you can buy a single SoC...

I need a PCI express 1.0x16 that isn't sold in retail computer stores and I can't find one online for about $30-$40 the model of the PC is HP slim line s3707c and the card is very small

All PCIe 1x cards. You don't have to replace with the same exact model, chances are you'll be over paying if you do that anyways.
The original is built into the motherboard and it blew but there is an adapter to put one in so I was told if I do that it will fix my no monitor input issue
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using Tapatalk 2
Oh okay I thought you were replacing a card. I would be careful about buying parts in a situation like this, if you are not sure about the issue there may be other problems and you might be wasting money. Is there anyone around that could help you out and maybe just stick their video card in and try it out to be sure?
No but I tried other monitors and its not the monitor, I tried buying a PCI express 2.0x16 and it was too big so I think I found the one I need here's a link its gotta be small and be x16 like this: http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem?itemId=230781213978&index=13&nav=SEARCH&nid=46833495604

Try 8600GT. I think its quite good
Yeah you should be able to find one for cheap. It should do the job since you definitely weren't doing anything too GPU intensive.

Well I received the card in the mail yesterday, this chip is perfect but with the extra HDMI cable input I had to cut the case on the PC to fit, turned the PC on and the fan on the graphics card started spinning but still no monitor input came on the screen so now I'm wondering if the hard drive crashed, I need a new motherboard, or just save up for a new PC?

You should still see something before the os even tries to boot so the hard drive wouldn't do it.

I don't know about the 1x cards, less pins means less data transferral. I perfer some of the midrange to higher end cards because you get far better performance from them.
I would be very careful about how you try and solve this problem since there are a plethora of problems that could be the cause of your symptoms. Since your "blown" GPU was integrated on your motherboard, that means there's probably a failure somewhere else within your motherboard. It could cause problems (given time to develop) to arise elsewhere within your system. I know it's a big step, but if you can afford it I would look at building a cheap new PC. I recently rebuilt my gaming rig for around 250 bucks, but I didnt' ahve to replace ALL of my hardware, only the core parts. You can fairly cheaply assemble a basic system.
Hope some of this info helps.
Thank you guys I think what I may end up doing is buying a new tower and transfer the old 500gb hard drive to the new one because it had hundreds of gigs worth of music, will still use the same monitor and will probably get a Tera byte external hard drive

Cuz this graphics card had an extra HDMI port which made it a tad bigger and I figured I'll just get a new tower if it doesn't work

If you're comfortable doing a case swap, look for a mid-tower or full tower case. The Coolermaster HAF cases are really nice, but cost a good 160 bucks or so. There are others that are much cheaper which should be big enough for a bigger card.

I got an haf for 60 that is more than big enough, I could easily fit a large pair of cards and a liquid setup. It sounds like he has more issues than that though.

There was something about the ACPI (or whatever lol its been a while since i dealt with it) where it wouldn't want to boot ubuntu, and if it did it was unusable and my CPU and fan would be at 100 percent.
It was a linux kernel issue, not a ubuntu-specific issue.
Wireless was also a toughie for me, but I was able to fix that no problem.
I'd look around on newegg.com before buying that toshiba just so you can get a feel of what you get for around $600 elsewhere.
But yes, that laptop should have more than enough muscle to do what you want it to do.
I'm running an Acer ( yes go ahead and laugh ) Dual Core Intel. Have had nothing but the Best of luck with it

processor and RAM mainly.
My 4gb dualcore would take around 5-6 hours to compile from source lol
Its just a matter of how much time you're willing to wait really.

Yeah, but this laptop isnt exactly in tip-top shape lol
It overheats a lot and the battery is on the ****s.
It took me 5 hours to convert a pdf of scanned images into a pdf with searchable text, and that was setting the process' priority to high. The pdf was a gb though lol
It lagged so bad that I clicked on the firefox icon and it opened up 30 minutes later lol
I'm investing in a high-end gaming desktop rig when my next round of college money comes in, just because.
I rarely game, but I've been craving a powerful machine for years now. and who knows. I may start learning to dev again

Next question. Intel or AMD?

Is there really a difference between the two processors or does it just come down to, do you want a Ford Crown Vvictoria or a Lincoln Towncar? Is one really better than the other?

As an amd user I love it. I have a quad core black edition and I can overclock to 3.6 without an issue. I do a lot of gaming so I run crossfire to. The only downside is that I've found that some software, mostly games, don't play nice with my gfx cards. But I feel you get more bang for your buck with amd. There is a difference between a quad core from amd and Intel. Intel will always beat out the amd card in something but they are close. Amd always wins in price though. Just my 2 cents
I'm a lead software engineer for the third largest telco in the US, and I own a middleware piece of software that is crucial in billing, ordering, provisioning, repairs, and all kinds of stuff. I normally don't do anything with the hardware end, but we just finished a Disaster Recovery review, and I literally LOL'd hard (good thing I was working from home) to find our 3 year old or so servers only had dual core 1.666GHz processors. Since I overclock to 1.9, my phone actually runs faster than this major piece of middleware responsible for handling millions of transactions a day.
Bigger and faster than the one running the Mars Rover also.
While the progression of mobile technology is impressive clock speed doesn't mean much here. The architecture of those server processors probably makes them much faster than our snapdragon s4. Still cool though.

Well, yes it is possible. You could probably either pay LG millions to do it for you. Or get your research and development team to do it for you. I can't imagine it taking more then a few hundred thousand in that situation. Don't worry though, I bet the 20/30 people still trolling the G2X forums would love to pay you a couple bucks to help you along!
this would have stopped me from going back to samsung and getting a sgs, it would be nice
